Meditation of the week: Psalms 17:1-15

Main scripture: Psalms 49:1-20

Subject: Why is the one that understand not as the beast that perish?

           Everyone that is born in the earth hear the message given unto us today.  Whether he is Jew or Gentile, whosoever  hear this message not to understand shall be perish as beasts that we despise not to be able to live again after death. The word of God speaks unto us once again, “Bothe low and high, rich and poor  together, hear this message.”  In other word, it does not matter whatever position they are, neither they are in high level position nor rich, they are as the beasts that perish unless they understand.  And whosoever are they extremely poor living at the bottom level of life shall be high, and rich and honorable forever, if they understand.

        It is because the word of God is the word of wisdom and understanding. Then, what is the wisdom?  The LORD God created all things in the totally empty earth with his word of wisdom as the bible says. To understand the word of wisdom, it is only possible to understand the word of God through the grace given to the humble man.

         Now God is asking questions unto all men in the earth so that they may be able to understand his words:

“They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.“

Yeah! With money no one can give life again unto the dead, though he could extend the life with medical equipments.

          They know of themselves to die some day, and to be buried in the dust in their head but not understand of it. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue forever, and they call their lands after their own names, saith the Lord. Especially our forefathers wanted sons not to discontinue their household, and they had to more than one wife to give birth of sons.

       But the LORD God speaks again unto them:

 “This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah. Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.“

           Now the LORD God is speaking unto all men living in the earth to understand his word. Then what they are supposed to understand?

“Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish…. Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.”

            In other word, all men born in the world are born in honor. God made them born to make them honorable regardless what they are , and who they are in terms of their social position or financial position and so on. It doesn’t matter whether they are man or woman; young or old; rich or poor; high or low. Just blessed if they understand the will of God to make them honorable after all. No one can deliver his lived one from death with money saith the Lord. The n it is no way for them not to live again but to perish forever. But the LORD God testifies of some one that is able to deliver man from death. God is asking all men to understand of his word.

         The man named Paul understood of this truth, and testified toward them that cannot understand:

“But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.“(1Cor. 15:35-44)

             It was only one thing that he understood. He understood who is the one that can deliver him from death. Before he understood, he was high and rich and honorable, but he was a beast that perish, He was chasing them that understood who is the one that saved. He not understood of his soul to be perished as the beasts. One day he happened to understand  through the meeting with the Saviour who  is the ransom to save his soul.

             Finally, he testified of him that is the ransom to deliver him as the head of sinners  from death:

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive….. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.“(1Cor. 15:20-22, 45-50)

         David who was the king of Israel finally understood of himself as a perishing beast, after he committed adultery and murder. He understood the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to die for his sins as his ransom, and confessed before God:

“From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes. As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.“(Ps. 17:14-15)

           King David testified of man that was made in the image of God honorable to be a ruler of all things created by God before he sinned deceived by the serpent that is Satan:

“When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.“(ps. 8:3-8)

           God himself became a man in the name of Jesus to restore the power of subdue of man in the earth, and paid himself as the ransom for men. All men had been as perishing beasts in death and curses since the first man sinned. He took away the sin of the world through his death on the cross.

            He spoke of himself, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”(John 14:6)  Therefore no one can  come to the Father God unless they understand the truth that is himself to receive the life through him, but ended up living as the beasts  to be perished forever. Therefore, Jesus spoke unto Nicodemus who not understood this truth,

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 3:16)  Amen! Hallelujah!
