너를 축복하는 자들에게 내가 복을 주고 너를 저주하는 자를 저주하리라.
네 안에서 땅의 모든 족속들이 복을 받을 것이라." 하셨더라. (창 12:3)

Meditation of the week: Psalms 17:1-15
Text: Psalm 39:1-13
Title: The message of the Holy Spirit in David’s prayer
Over a thousand years before God sent Jesus, the only-begotten Son, the Savior of the world, to the world, he made his prophetic prophecies in various forms about Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit testifies of those who are born into the world to receive eternal blessings from God (Psalms 1 and 2), and the King Jesus Christ who will come in the image of Adam and glorify his name by ruling forever and ever in the earth that Adam destroyed by sin. (Psalm 8), And of those who would live with him in his kingdom (Psalm 15), and that Jesus is to be forsaken on the cross, and rise again to take away the sin of the world with death, and curse. The Holy Spirit also prophesied of Jesus Christ by David, who would establish the church in Christ, and to be the shepherd of the church, and come back as king in glory (Psalm 22,23,24). Also of Regarding the antichrist and his destruction (Psalm 37) that will appear in the last Great Tribulation, then the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords who comes again in glory to judge the world and rule the world (Psalm 93-100).
In addition, David bears witness to his prayers of repentance, thanksgiving, and praise before God in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit also teaches the children of God today through the mouth of David about the types of prayers for God’s children in the Holy Spirit through David’s prayer of pray, supplication, intercession and giving thanks. Apostle Paul testified to the Saints of the Ephesians about how God’s children should pray:
” Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; “
That’s right! It is a testimony that in order to be reached unto God by pray and supplication in the Holy Spirit, we must first be spiritually armed. When King David reigned, he always confronted against his enemies, so that he could not hear God’s voice or receive answers unless he was always armed spiritually. Therefore, he was able to live a triumphant walk with God while meditating on the Words of God day and night while rejoicing in the Words of God.
Then, as we meditate on the words of Psalm 39 given to us today, we want to understand the message of the Holy Spirit on how we should pray and ask in the Holy Spirit.
Before he prays, he tells him to keep his mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before him in order not to sin against God. He had been subjected to tremendous judgment by God by being deceived by the evil devil through committing adultery with Uriah’s wife. The Bible tells us about the miserable things that happened to his household because of a sin against God. There was a tremendous slaughter among his children, and even his beloved son Absalom threatened to kill him day and night, eventually dying miserably, all of which had to be painfully realized how severely the crimes before God should be judged.
King David pleaded not to take away the Holy Spirit, while  he had given to the LORD in repentance before God testifying of how much miserable without the presence of the Holy Spirit would be:
” 10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.“(Psalm 51: 10-12)
In the Old Testament times, before God gave the Holy Spirit to dwell in the believer saved from sin, death, and curse through Christ Jesus, God gave the Holy Spirit unto his servants for them to prophesy and testify the words of God. But when they sinned and did not repent, God withdrew His Spirit and sent evil spirits. An example was King Saul. But even in the time of grace, when God’s children sin and do not repent, the presence of the Holy Spirit shall go away, living in darkness so that they cannot pray in the Holy Spirit.
Finally, when David was so careful as to be silent and even to be dumb not to sin against God, he was finally able to speak, pray, and ask God in his tongue (vv. 2-3).
Although he was at that time the king of Israel, armed with ruling all the earth, he came to realize how miserable and weak he was when he entered the presence of the Spirit of God:
” LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.
5Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. “(v. 4-5).
Moses, who saw the Lord Jehovah God in his presence hearing the voice of God, had no choice but to confess to God in the Holy Spirit:
” For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.
10The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. ”(Psalm 90: 9-10).
Finally, David realized  how much ignorant and miserable people in the world were living like animals, and confessed unto God:
” Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.“
He was forced to give a confession before God  realizing what he had to hope to live in, when he understood himself as fog staying a moment in the earth to disappear right away:
” And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.” (v. 7).
He specifically confessed what kind of hope he had before God finding out how he had live separated life sanctified  from the world:
” From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.
15As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. “
When he realized that he was going to stand before the throne of God in the future to see the LORD God in person, he prayed to deliver from all his transgressions asking the LORD to make him not the reproach of the foolish:
” Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.
9I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.
10Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.
11When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.“(8-11)
Finally, he prayed for forgiveness, looking for a time when he was living as a foreigner and a sojourner, and asked him to restore his strength not to be destroyed by his sin.
Apostle John pleaded and testified to the children of God waiting for the Lord in this age:
” Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. “(1 John 3: 2-3)
 Amen! Hallelujah!
