금주의 묵상: 시편 133:1-3

본문: 요한일서 4:7-21

제목: 하나님께로부터 태어난 참 자녀들이 맺는 열매들

         주님으로부터 가장 큰 사랑을 받았으며 자신을 사랑받는 제자라고 스스로 말했던 사도 요한은 주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 그분을 영접한 사람들이 하나님에게서 난 자들이라고 요한복음에서 증거한 바 있습니다:

“그가 자기 백성에게 오셨으나 자기 백성이 그를 영접하지 아니하더라. 그러나 누구든지 그를 영접한 사람들에게는 하나님의 아들들이 되는 권세를 주셨으니, 즉 그의 이름을 믿는 모든 사람들에게니라. 그들은 혈로나 육신의 뜻으로나 또한 사람의 뜻으로 나지 아니하였고 하나님에게서 난 사람들이라.”(요 1:11-13)

             그는 오늘 본문을 통하여 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 영접하여 하나님에게서 난 참 자녀들에 대하여 증거하고 있습니다. 다시 말해서 그들이 맺는 열매에 대하여 말하고 있습니다. 또한 하나님의 참 자녀들과 아닌 사람들에 대하여 분명하게 증거하고 있습니다:

“사랑하는 자들아, 우리가 서로 사랑하자. 이는 사랑이 하나님께 속한 것이기 때문이라. 사랑하는 사람은 누구나 하나님께로부터 태어났으며 또 하나님을 아느니라. 사랑하지 아니하는 자는 하나님을 알지 못하나니 하나님은 사랑이시기 때문이라. 우리를 향한 하나님의 사랑이 이렇게 나타났으니, 곧 하나님께서 그의 독생자를 세상에 보내신 것은 우리로 그를 통하여 살게 하려 하심이라. 여기에 사랑이 있으니, 우리가 하나님을 사랑하는 것이 아니요 그분이 우리를 사랑하시고 그의 아들을 우리 죄들을 위하여 화복제물로 보내신 것이라. 사랑하는 자들아, 하나님께서 이처럼 우리를 사랑하셨으니 우리도 서로 사랑하는 것이 마땅하도다.”(요일 4:7-11)

         그는 계속해서 증거하기를, 우리가 서로 사랑하면 하나님께서 우리 안에 거하시고, 그분의 사랑이 우리 안에서 온전하게 된다고 말했습니다. 또한 이때에, 우리가 그분 안에, 그분이 우리 안에 거하시는 것을 우리가 알게 되는 바, 이는 그분께서 주신 자신의 영, 즉 성령을 통하여 알게 된다고 증거했습니다. 또한 우리가 하나님의 사랑 안에 거할 때, 우리의 사랑이 온전해지며 이 사랑으로 인하여 심판 날에 담대함을 가지게 된다고 증거했습니다. 또한 하나님의 온전한 사랑 안에 거하는 사람은 두려움 없는 평안 가운데 살게 되며 이는 하나님의 사랑이 모든 두려움을 내어쫓는는다고 증거했습니다.

           예수께서도 하나님의 사람과 마귀에게 속한 사람들, 다시 말해서 그 당시 그분을 믿지 않는 종교지도자들을 분별하는 일에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“거짓 선지자들을 조심하라. 그들은 양의 옷을 입고 너희에게 나아오나 속은 약탈하는 이리들이라. 너희는 그들의 열매로 그들을 알게 되리니, 사람이 가시나무에서 포도를, 또 엉겅퀴에서 무화과를 거둘 수 있겠느냐? 이와 같이 좋은 나무마다 좋은 열매를 맺고, 나쁜 나무는 나쁜 열매를 맺느니라. 좋은 열매를 맺지 못하는 나무마다 찍혀서 불에 던져지리라. 그러므로 너희는 그들의 열매들을 보고 그들을 알게 되리라.”(마 7:15-20)

           사도 바울은 갈라디아인들에게 편지할 때에 하나님께로 난 자들이 맺는 열매와 그렇지 못한 사람들이 맺는 열매에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“이제 육신의 일들(열매들)은 분명히 나타나나니 곧 간음과 음행과 더러운 것과 음욕과 우상 숭배와 마술과 원수 맺음과 다툼과 질투와 분노와 투쟁과 분열과 아단들과 시기와 살인과 술 취함과 흥청거림과 또 그와 같은 것들이이라. 내가 전에 말한 바와 같이 미리 말하노니 그런 짓들을 하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 상속받지 못할 것이라.

그러나 성령의 열매는, 사랑과 화평과 오래 참음과 친절과 선함과 믿음과 온유와 절제니 그러한 것을 반대할 법이 없느니라. 그리스도께 속한 사람들은 그 육신을 욕정과 정욕과 함께 십자가에 못박았느니라.”(갈 5:19-24)

             사도 바울은 사랑이 있는 자와 없는 자에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“내가 사람들과 천사들의 방언으로 말한다 해도 사랑이 없으면 소리내는 놋이나 시끄러운 꽹과리가 되고 내가 예언의 은사가 있어 모든 신비와 모든 지식을 알고 또 산을 옮길만한 모든 믿음이 있다해도 사랑이 없으면 나는 아무 것도 아니요, 또 내가 내 모든 소유를 주어 가난한 사람을 구제하고 내 몸을 불사르게 내어준다 해도 사랑이 없으면 내게 아무 유익이 없느니라.”(고전 13:1-3)

         다시 말해서, 그는 하나님께로부터 나서 그분의 참 자녀가 되지 않고서도 얼마든지 사람의 눈으로 볼 때에 신실한 하나님의 자녀처럼 보일 수 있다는 것입니다. 그러나 그 안에 사랑이 없으면, 다시 말해서 하나님의 영이 안에 거하지 않으면 아무 것도 아니라고 증거한 것입니다. 자신을 나타내기 위하여 온갖 가식적인 사랑을 행하는 일에 대하여 말한 것입니다. 또한 하나님의 사랑이 있는 사람들이 맺는 열매들에 대하여 그는 구체적으로 증거하고 있습니다:

“사랑은 오래 참고 친절하며 사랑은 시기하지 아니하고 사랑은 자랑하지 아니하며 교만하지 아니하고 급히 성내지 아니하며 악을 생각하지 아니하고 불의를 기뻐하지 아니하며 진리를 기뻐하고 모든 것을 참으며 모든 것을 믿고 모든 것을 바라며 모든 것을 견뎌내느니라.”(고전 13:4-7)

         그렇습니다! 하나님의 자녀가 되어 하나님의 영을 받은 사람은 그 안에서 하나님의 성품이 나타나게 되는 것입니다. 주님께서 포도나무 비유를 통하여 하나님의 자녀들이 열매맺는 일에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“내 안에 거하라. 그러면 나도 너희 안에 거하리라. 가지가 포도나무에 붙어있지 아니하면 스스로 열매를 맺을 수 없듯이 너희도 내 안에 거하지 아니하면 역시 그렇게 되리라. 나는 포도나무요 너희는 그 가지들이라. 그가 내 안에 내가 그 안에 거하면 그 사람은 많은 열매를 맺느니라. 이는 나를 떠나서는 너희가 아무 것도 할 수 없음이라.”(요 15:4-5)

           다른 사람들에 대하여 오래 참으면 자신에게는 유익이 없으며 많은 손해를 당하게 됩니다. 또한 무조건 친절해도 마찬가지 결과가 올 수도 있습니다. 또한 모든 것을 믿고 모든 것을 참으면 많은 사람들에게 이용당할 수도 있습니다. 또한 자신의 유익을 추구하지 않으면 많은 손해를 당할 수도 있습니다. 지난 수천년 동안 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들과 하나님의 자녀들과 이방인들에 대하여오래 참으셨습니다. 저들에 대하여 항상 친절하게 대하셨습니다.

             사도 요한은 “하나님께서 세상을 이처럼 사랑하셨다.”고 증거했습니다. 뿐만 아니라, 하나님께서는 여전히 모든 사람들이 자신을 믿을 것을 믿고 참으며 기다리고 계시는 것입니다. 하나님께서는 여전히 죄인들을 믿고 기다리심으로 해서 그들에게 이용당하는 것처럼 보입니다. 우리가 구원받기 전에 마음대로 죄를 지으면서 살 때에 우리를 믿고 기다리시면서 우리들에게 많은 이용을 당하셨습니다. 이렇게 하나님께서 우리같은 죄인들을 끝까지 믿고 참아오셨기에 우리같은 죄인들도 마침내 구원을 받는 축복을 받게 된 것입니다.

               우리는 새해를 맞이하는 이 시간에 자신에 대하여 다시 한 번 살펴보는 시간이 되어야 할 것입니다. 과연 우리 안에 있는 하나님의 사랑이 어떻게 나타났는가? 우리 주위에 있는 믿지 않는 사람들을 위하여 기도하면서 그들이 구원받을 것을 믿고 기도하면서 얼마나 오래참아 왔는가? 또한 우리와 함께 그리스드의 몸을 이루고 있는 형제자매들을 얼마나 믿고 오래참고 있는가? 뿐만 아니라 우리와 함께 있다가 우리를 떠난 사람들을 여전히 믿고 기다리면서 오래참고 있는가? 지금 이 사간에 성령께서 주시는 음성을 들으며 진정한 회개의 시간이 됨으로써 축복된 새해를 시작하는 시간이 되기를 바라는 것입니다.

           사도 베드로는 하나님께서 이 악한 세상을 지금까지 믿으시면서 오래참고 계심에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“사랑하는 자들아, 주께는 하루가 천 년 같고 천 년이 하루 같은 이 한 가지를 잊지 말라. 주의 약속은 어떤 사람들이 더디다고 생각하는 것깉이 더딘 것이 아니라 오직 우리에 대하여 오래 참으시어 아무도 멸망하지 않고 다 회개에 이르게 하려 하심이라.”(벧후 3:8-9)

          그렇습니다! 우리 안에 하나님의 사랑이 있다면, 우리는 그 사랑으로 충만하도록 기도해야 하는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 에베소 교회 성도들에게 이에 대하여 권면했습니다:

“잠자는 자여 깨어라. 그리고 죽은 자들로부터 일어나라. 그러면 그리스도께서 빛을 주시리라…..술 취하지 말라. 그것은 방탕한 것이니 오직 성령으로 충만하라.”(엡 5:14,18)

Meditation of the week: Psalms 133:1-3

Main scripture: 1John 4:7-21

Subject: The fruits of true children born of God

             Apostle John was specially beloved by Jesus, and he even called himself as a beloved disciple. He testified of the children of God born of him that believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, and receives him:

“He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”(John 1:11-13)

           In the main passage, he testifies of the true children of God who are born of God. He testifies of the fruits of them. he also testifies of them that are not the true children of God very clearly:

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.”(1John 4:7-11)

                 He continues to testify saying, if we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love perfected in us. Hereby know that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit that is the Holy Ghost. And when we dwelleth in his love, our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of Judgment. And they that dwell in his perfect love dwell in peace without fear, for the love of God casts out fear.

              Jesus spoke of the way to discern between man of God and one of the Devil that is the religious leaders that not believed in him:

 “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”(Matt. 7:15-20)

               Apostle Paul wrote the letter unto the Galatians to testify of the fruits of them born of God as well as them that are not born of God:

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affection.”(Gal. 5:19-24)

           Apostle Paul testified of them with the charity(love of God) and of them without it:

 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.”(1Cor. 13:1-3)

               In other word, man is able to show himself as a faithful son of God before the eyes of men even though he is not born of God to be the true son of God. But if no love of God in him, in other word, no Spirit of God dwells in him, it profits nothing. He testified of the things that are the hypocritical behaviors to show all kind of false love. He continued to testify of the fruits of them that have the love of God:

“Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”(1Cor. 13:4-7)

                 Yeah! They that are children of God through receiving his Spirit manifest the characters of God from within. Jesus testified of the fruits of the children of God through the parable of vine tree:

 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”(John 15:4-5)

                   If we suffer long for others, it bring forth no profit for us, but rather mush loss for us at the end. In the same manner, if we do friendly for other without any condition, it will be the same result for us. If we believe all things bearing all things, we could be taken advantage by others. And if we seek not our own, much loss could come back to us. For the last thousands of years, the LORD God has been suffered long for the people of Israel, and children of God and also for the Gentiles; he has been friendly for them always.

                Apostle John testified, God so love the world. God is still suffering long believing and waiting for them to believe in him some day in the future. God is still waiting for the sinners believing them to repent; and he seems to be taken advantage by them in the world. God had been taken advantage by us when we had been sinning not caring of God. The sinners like us have been blessed to be saved, because God had been suffer long for us believing us to the end.

                At this moment in the time receiving a new year, we’d better examine ourselves one again. How the love of God within us has been manifested ? How long have we suffered for others around us praying for them to believe in God? How have we been suffered long for the brothers and sisters with us that consist of the body of Christ? And whether we are still suffer long for them that left this church? Listening the voice of the Holy Ghost in this moment, let this time be the blessing through true repentance in the first time of worship in the new year.

                Apostle Peter testified of God that has been suffer long believing the wicked world to repent:

 “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”(2Pet. 3:8-9)

               Yeah! If the love of God is within us, we have to pray for the fullness of it. Apostle Paul encouraged the saints of Ephesians:

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light….. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”(Eph. 5:14,18)
