Meditations on this week: Psalm 126: 1-6
Text: Proverbs 11:30
The title of the Word: Born-again child of God bears the fruit of a tree of life
King Solomon prophesied about what the Holy Spirit would do in the future upon receiving the Holy Spirit. Each one verse in the words of Proverbs contain many prophecies. In this verse, it is spoken of the fruit of one that believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, and receives the remission of sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. When Jesus spoke of religious leaders who did not believe in Him. He spoke of the fruit: ” Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. “(Matthew 7: 16-20 )
It was about the Pharisees, the Sadducees, and the scribes who did not believe in Jesus at that time. They could not bear the fruit of tree of life, because they did not receive Jesus who came as the tree of life. Because the first man was driven out of the Garden of Eden away from the tree of life because of his sin. Jesus, who was the tree of life on earth, came to the earth after four thousand years had been passed by. He came to give the eternal life whosoever believes in him eating his flesh and drinking his blood spiritually. Jesus, who came as the last Adam, came to give the life tree that was lost by the first man Adam in his kingdom forever and ever.
King Solomon witnessed that those who received life by believing in Christ Jesus would bear the fruit of life, the tree of life. Jesus also said that religious people who did not believe in Him couldn’t bear the tree of life but bear fruit of death like thorns and thistles.
As he was going up Mount Olivet to give his final prayer before Jesus left this world, he told his disciples about the fruit bearing: “ I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.“(John 15: 1-6)
Jesus spoke of three kinds of people. The first kind of man is the one that cannot bear the fruit of life even though he confesses the faith in Jesus Christ. The second kind of one that bear the fruit as the branch of Jesus. And the third one that shall be cast into the lake of fire not believing in Jesus at all. He said, he will cast him forth as a branch whosoever cannot bear fruit, not abiding in the words of God and not cleansed by the words. But those who abide in the Word of God, and have finally received life, shall continue to bear much fruits because they are dwelling in the Word of God.
At that time, a multitude of people believed in Jesus, and they followed him and ate the food that Jesus gave them. But all of them except the disciples went away not to receive his word of life. Also Among the disciples of Jesus, Iscariot Judas believed in him and followed him, but the purpose of his follow-up was not the words of life, but materials. He was finally cast forth as a branch of Jesus.
Even today, multitude of people who attend church are not interested in bringing forth the fruit of life by being cleansed through the Word of God. They are interested in the healing, the blessing of the material, convincing themselves saved If the servant of God preach the different gospel focusing the world, they shall produce many nominal Christians without salvation. people even though they warms the chairs in the church.
Jesus explained to the disciples about a parable of sower :
” Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.. “(Matthew 13: 18-23)
The first three kinds of people seem to be somewhat different one to another, but they do not realize that they are a miserable sinner before God, and they do not know that they must be saved from sin and death. They vaguely believe that they believe in Jesus. Actually they follow the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the proud of life. The good ground is good heart that is deeply realized that they are sinners, and they hear the word of God with a humble heart that is like sword (Hebrews 4:12), fiery hammer- It is to speak of the person who receives the Holy Spirit by receiving the Lord Jesus Christ with a humble heart and burning it with the Spirit of God, which comssumes the heart.
God spoke through the prophet Jeremiah about what his word was like:
” Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? “(Jeremiah 23:29)
Those who receive eternal life, born of the Word of God that is spirit and life, who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ must continue to live in the Word and bear the fruit of the tree of life through the life provided in the Word. In other words, it must be the sower of the word of life. Just as the farmer scatters seeds in the ground not caring about whether it will sprout or not, and harvests the fruits, the children of God have to sow the seed of life in season or out of season.
Many different kinds of seed are being sown in the earth. Farmer sow seeds and harvests, and people sow their seeds and harvest their children, and all other creatures sow their seeds and reproduce. But all these seeds are corruptible seeds, but only the word of God is incorruptible and eternal seed. The Apostle Peter testified of this truth:
” Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.“(1 Peter 1: 23-25).
