The title of the Word: The mystery of the gospel of Christ: The serpent of brass on the pole verses Jesus Christ on the cross
When the Jews, who were walking through the wilderness along the way saw the various miracles of God with their own eyes, and rebuked God and Moses again, complaining and grumbling. God immediately sent the fiery serpents to the people to kill many people.
As the people repented, God heard Moses’ prayer and said:
” Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.” (Nu 21: 8)
When Moses immediately made a serpent of brass and hung it on the pole, the people who were bitten by the serpents looked at the brass serpent and lived not died. In the Holy Spirit Moses made the serpent with brass. In the Bible, brass means judgment.
In the tabernacle, the altar appears first. The altar was made of brass. At the brass altar, sacrifices that were judged for the sins of the people were burned with fire and were offered as burnt offerings. Also, the altar is the model of cross where Jesus was offered as a burnt offering to be judged for the sin of the world.
The second thing that appears in the tent is the water basin. This water basin is also made of brass. It is the place where the priests wash their feet before entering the sanctuary to offer sacrifices. This water basin is the model of the place where believers in Jesus Christ confess their sins and wash before they enter the holy place to pray in the Holy Ghost and receive the words of God. This water basin is the place where the saved saints confess their own sins and judge themselves.
God judged the serpent and whosoever looked upon it not died. Because they confessed their sins, God judged the serpents. Those who looked upon the brass serpent not died even though they were bitten by the serpents, but who did not look at it, would surely have died. Those who believe in the Word of God have been saved, but all humanistic people were dead.
The people who realized that they were dying among the people lived to look at the brass serpent, but all who thought they would not die were all dead.
Today the Earth’s population is over seven billion. Certainly, how many of them realize that they are dying slowly from their birth considering seriously the matter of death? A humanist understood of his death sooner or later, and believed in Jesus to received him as his Saviour. And he said, If a politician does not realize that he is dying, he becomes a dictator, and if a successful business man does not realize it, he becomes money addicted. In other word, everyone who does not realize that he is dying will live a wicked life and live a life worse than a beast before God.
God said to the people of the world that when they were bitten by a devil worse than serpent, even not knowing when to die:
” For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).
As a brass serpent, Jesus was hung on the cross to be judged on behalf of sinners. What a tremendous word of God saying whosoever believes in Jesus on the cross shall receive the eternal life. on the cross to be judged for the sins of the world, . The people who looked at the brass serpent in the wilderness that were hanging on the pole did not die, but they could not receive eternal life. But just looking at Jesus hung on the cross as the brass serpent, sinners receive eternal life right away.
Jesus said that he shall lifted up on a pole like a brass serpent:
” And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3: 14-15).
But the old serpent, the devil, that has been fooling around the people in the world for them think of death at all. Also, through the world education system, people have been brainwashed as if the gospel of Christ is academically ridiculous, making people mistaken for believing that they will never die, so that they can not look at Jesus Christ crucified. In addition, those who believe in Jesus on the cross are mocked as the ignorant. They do not even know that when they die, they speak like a brave hero and fall into the hell. That’s right! The ignorant is brave. But they are ignorant people who do not know that no one can be brave in the hell.
Jesus told them that not believed in him of what what kind of place of the hell is:
” And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:48Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
49For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.“(Mark 9: 47-49).
The Holy Spirit has given the message of warning to Christians who have been to receive the eternal life in this age. The Apostle Paul testified of this:
” Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
4And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. “(1 Corinthians 10: 1-11)
That’s right! We must not forget that the Lord died as a ransom for our sins and died on the cross like the offering for our redemption. It is the very time for us restore the first love. We must wash our sins with water in the basin of the water to enter the sanctuary, and dwell in the Word of God through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Apostle Paul always advised the Saints of the Church of Ephesus to be cleansed by the Word and be prepared as the bride of the Holy Christ:
” That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” (Ephesians 5: 26-27)
