Meditation of the week: Psalm 91:1-16

Text: Revelation 1:1-20

Title: The prophesies of warning toward corrupted present world in the end times as well as  apostate churches and Israel

         Throughout the Scriptures, God has spoken  continuous prophecies through prophets and apostles. The messages of  prophecies are the prophecies of “The Day of the LORD,” that is the massages of warning of the judgment in the Great Tribulation the great tribulation that shall come upon the whole world as well as the warning of the Lord Jesus Christ’s Second Advent upon the earth.

          First of all, the warning messages contained in the prophecies through the prophets:

1. Prophecy of the prophet Isaiah: ”  Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.” (Isaiah 13:9).

2. The prophet Ezekiel’s prophecy: ” For the day is near, even the day of the LORD is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the heathen.” (Ezekiel 30:3).

3. The prophet Joel’s prophecy: “Alas for the day! for the day of the LORD is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.…. And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?…. Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.” Joel 1:15;2:11;3:14)

4. Prophecy of the prophet Amos: ” Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.…. Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it??” (Am 5:18,20)

5. Prophecy of the prophet Obadiah:” Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;” (Ob 1:13)

6. Prophet Zephanuah Prophecy: ” Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.…. The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly..”(Zephaniah 1:7,14)

7. Prophecy of the prophet Zechariah:” Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.” (Zech. 14:1-2)

8. Prophecy of the prophet Malachi:” For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. “(Malachi 4:1)

9. Prophet Daniel’s prophecy of the Great Tribulation(The trouble of Jacob): ” And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” (Dan. 12:1).

           Apostle Paul told the Thessalonica church members that they knew perfectly of the times and the seasons of  the Day of the Lord coming like a thief at night. Therefore, Christians living in the end times cannot stay awake waiting for the day of Christ unless they know perfectly the times and the seasons of the Day of the Lord. This is because the day of Christ (the day of Rapture), shall come about seven years before the Day of the Lord. You can refer the last week’s message(3-7-2021) to know of this in details.

         Apostle Peter also testified of what would happen in the Day of the Lord:

” But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” (2 Peter 3:10).

          Jesus also spoke unto his disciples in detail about the Great Tribulation and the Lord’s Day that  the day of His Second Coming:

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:29-30).

          Apostle Peter, who was filled with the Holy Spirit in the Day of  Pentecost, also testified of the Day of the Lord by quoting the prophecy of Joel the prophet when he was preaching unto the inhabitants of Jerusalem:

“And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: 21And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2:18-21).

              Jesus after resurrection sent his servant to Apostle John in Patmo Island for him to say, blessed he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophesy, and keep those things whish are written therein: for the time is at hand.   In addition, the Lord Jesus said that Apostle John should inform the seven churches by letter of what will happen in the day when he returns on the Lord’s Day:

“Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” (Rev. 1:7)

          Apostle John testified that he was in the Holy Spirit in the Day of the Lord. In other words, he was miraculously moved to the days of the Great Tribulation and the Lord’s Day that is the day of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, and he testified of what he saw the things in details happening in the earth in the future in the Holy Spirit. He also testified of the Lord Jesus Christ as the Almighty God beyond times and the spaces:

” I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.” (Rev. 1: 11)

         We are now living in the days of the fallen and apostate Laodicea church in the end times. The Laodicea church represents the churches that neeither study the words of Revelation nor repent. Now is the time for us to preach the words of Revelation to the servants and members of these churches so that they could hear the voice of the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus rebuked them:

“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

19As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

20Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne..” (Rev. 3:14-22)

       That’s right! Those who hear the words of reproof from the Lord Jesus who will come sooner or later in the end times through the Holy Spirit, and repent, and receive the Lord Jesus, and overcome the world by faith shall be blessed.  Lord Jesus promised to give the reigning power with Christ in his Millennial Kingdom for them to overcome the world.
