너를 축복하는 자들에게 내가 복을 주고 너를 저주하는 자를 저주하리라.
네 안에서 땅의 모든 족속들이 복을 받을 것이라." 하셨더라. (창 12:3)

Daniel Bible Study

Oct. 29, 2023: Daniel Bible Study #21

Posted on October 26, 2023
Daniel 21
Now, let’ s go ahead and read Daniel 6:18 through the last verse. [ Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.20 And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.23 Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.25 Then king Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.26 I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.27 He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.28 So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.]
God had sent an angel of the Lord. When Jesus resurrected, Mary saw two angels dressed in white and sitting in front of the tomb. The two angels said, “Woman, why are you weeping? ”  Because they have taken my lord, and they do not know where they have put it.” We know this conversation with an angel. In other words, angels are with God’s children wherever they are. You need to know this. Because angels protect us. Because the earth is ruled by Satan. Because Satan rules, if angels do not protect us, none of us are perfect. It doesn’t matter if it’s the unsaved. Because they are on the side of the Devil, the ruler of the earth, they eat well and live well. Then, later,  It takes them to hell. However, God’s children will not be able to be protected unless He sends angels to protect them while they live on this earth. That’s why we have to live with that belief. We are never lonely. I don’t feel lonely when I’m alone. But the elderly who are not saved feel lonely, and later they become depressed and even suicidal. Why? In the end, they become the devil’s food. Now Daniel says, God sent His angels to shut the mouths of the lions, so that they could not hurt me. If we look at history so far, it is impossible to describe the suffering that God’s children have suffered during the 6,000 years of human history.  Abel was killed by his brother. Look at David. How much did he suffer from Saul?  In the end, the psalm that David prayed about while fleeing from Saul and under threat of death contains in it the suffering that Jesus Christ will endure, as well as the suffering that the Israelites will suffer in the great tribulation and at the hands of the Antichrist. That’s why the whole Bible testifies of God working in the midst of suffering Christians.  Not only David, but also Moses, the prophets, the apostles, and the members of the underground church that are now in the north Korea, if they are caught, they shall die, right? They go to the coal mines, they go to the blast furnaces, don’t they? That’s what’s happening all over the world right now. That’s why in a country like the United States,  whatever Satan does, he massages them comfortably. So it sends people to hell in the end. It makes it easy and corrupts God’s children. This is the devil’s trick. The history of the devil in developed and backward countries is different. That’s why, when people get a little more comfortable, they don’t pray with it, and then they get trapped. That’s why we need to be awake all the time. The Apostle Paul said, I was rescued from the lion’s mouth. Thou shalt deliver me from all my wicked ways, and keep me unto the kingdom of heaven, and glory be unto Him forever and ever. When he wrote to Timothy, he bore his testimony. God’s servants should be full of testimonies. I can’t do without this testimony. Why? When we expound on God’s Word, we need to share this testimony. Paul did it to Timothy. He rescued me from the lion’s mouth. And everywhere I went, as I went to Damascus, the light came down and said, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? “Every time he preach, he told that story, that testimony. He bore his testimony of being saved. That’s why people said he was crazy. Now, here is Daniel, innocence manifested in him. When our Lord is on the earth It turned out that he was innocent. They searched for sin and couldn’t find it. That’s why they later accused him of saying that the Lord was the king. This Daniel was a captive in a foreign country, but his innocence was in him.  As we live on this earth, God’s children who are born again must truly live righteously. We have to live clean. This is not to say that there are no demonic attacks. Later, however, his innocence is proven. In this way, many people come to know the Lord through us. When God saves us through the suffering of the saints, when we are still in the midst of suffering, when we do not grumble, when we do not complain, when we are still in the midst of suffering, trusting only in the Lord, when he sends angels to save us. As the Apostle Paul said, we have never been tempted beyond our means, and when we are tempted, He gives us a way to escape. Through whom? Wouldn’t it be through angels? Daniel also confessed that he had not really sinned under any circumstances and had not done anything harmful in the presence of the king…, and this king knew all too well. So, because of the edict he had sealed, Daniel went into the lions’ den, but how long did he weep and mourn and fast and sleep all night? After all, as Daniel said, I have not done anything harmful in the presence of the king. The same is true of our Lord. No matter how hard Pilate tried, he couldn’t. I believe he is innocent. So did his wife. In her dream, she was very troubled by Him, and she told him to be careful. After all, Pilate washed his hands, didn’t he? Still, because he was there, he was tormented by Pilate when they meet every Sunday morning in the Korean church. When we see Pilate’s name constantly being mentioned in people’s mouths, we can’t help but wonder how unhappy this man is.
Now, in verse 23, he ordered Daniel to be pulled out of the den. And when he pulled him up, he saw no wound. for he believed in his God. What is faith? Faith is 100% trusting in Him alone. No matter what, we trust him 100 percent. This is the salvation of the born-again Christian.  This is how born-again Christians have faith. Why? Because the Lord is with us. To be saved is to be saved from death. The very fact that we are saved and born again by the Holy Spirit means that we are saved from the lions’ den. And we believers, born-again believers, have already passed from death to life. It had already been transferred from sin and death in the law of the Spirit of life. Spiritually. Therefore, those who have eternal life inside are those who have already been saved from the lions’ den. But those who are not saved are thrown into the lions’ den, as we see in this text. Even if they stay still, the lion follows along. Eventually, they go with the lions and is thrown into the lions’ den. It’s hell. In 1 Peter 5:8, like a roaring lion, he seeks someone to devour. The devil. Who are you looking for? Who are you trying to swallow? They put him in here to make Daniel swallowed, right? Likewise, people today sue those who are not born again. This is a problem, that is a problem. Oh, the Lord eats, they accused him of eating, when he fasted they accused him of devil possessed. When unconverted people are seen in the church, all born-again people are seen as  problem makers. They are in the world and they are in heaven. That’s the way it is. That’s why the church is in a mess because of a few people who are not converted. You need to know this. And if I suffer because of an unconverted person, it’s a sign that I’m saved. Otherwise, there is no one to say anything. The devil doesn’t have to try to drag the unsaved into hell. Even if you stay still, you will be dragged in. In the meantime, they try to throw others into the lions’ den. I mean, they are going to make an accusation. The devil accuses you day and night, right? The devil is now cast out.  And he was cast out of the air, and came down to the earth with his angels in the great tribulation, and took it with him, [ Woe unto the earth and the sea, but rejoice those who are in heaven, for the devil knew that his time was short, and he went down in anger.]  That’s why the blocker is blocking it now. Although the devil has power in the air and is crushing us. When that time comes, the world becomes chaos because he himself is down. So we need to save one more person. What will happen then? That’s why we should never forget that the Devil is always the target of our attacks. Peter did it, didn’t he? [Do not wonder at the fire that comes to you. Know that your brethren suffer the same.] It was.  So did the Apostle Paul, right? In 2 Timothy 3:12 it says, “Indeed, all who want to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” Everyone. In fact, it doesn’t feel good to be persecuted. In fact, being persecuted is proof that I am living a godly life. You need to know this.  This is the testimony of the Saints. Look at the Apostle Paul, David, our Lord,  the prophets.  There was not a day that was easy. But our bodies keep trying to be comfortable. Our flesh want us to be complimented and want to be popular. However, God shows His glory in the midst of persecution and then gives them some rest. Look, this Daniel was in the time of King Darius and Cyrus, and of course in Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon. he was treated. It’s always that way. That’s why he said that if you follow the Lord on this earth, you shall be persecuted, but you shall be blessed 100  times on this earth as well. In the world to come, in the millennium, receive eternal life.
What a blessing! Blessing comes with persecution. No, politicians in the world have to be persecuted and put in and out of prison if they want to have a place, otherwise they can’t run for parliament. How can we receive this glory of eternity with the Lord, even though the world is corruptible? He suffered. [If the world hates you, do not wonder at it in the least. If you were of the world, they would have loved you. But because ye are no part of the world, ye shall hate them as they have hated me.]
When we are persecuted, we should be able to rejoice. This is true faith.  He told them to stay alert and awake. That’s why Christians are attacked by the devil, and sometimes they fall, sometimes they can’t pray, they can’t put on the armor of the Word, they forget, they fall. That’s why people who believe well sometimes fall. But even if we stumble and sometimes fall, we can repent again. Why did Jesus took his blood back to the heavenly sanctuary? The reason why he brought his own blood back was that when those who were saved were attacked by the devil and made mistakes, sinned, and were tempted, and fell down in this way, he took it up to be wiped clean with blood if they repented. You need to know this. That’s why when people who are saved sin, they can’t say, oh, that person has lost his salvation. If you’re really saved. So stay alert and awake.  The devil is always around, and we have to be vigilant. We have to pray. We just have to pray 24  hours a day. What’s on your mind? Then we have to pray. You have to defeat it. When bad thoughts come in. What comes through the eyes, through the ears, through the people? we have to clean up at once at that time. But people usually don’t do it, and when they have a revival meeting, they try to solve it all at once. Usually, every church has a revival meeting every three months. So let’s try to sort it out once and for all. It shouldn’t be like that. We should always wash our hands, wash our feet, and wash our bodies every day. The devil is not an adversary to the unsaved. They oppose those who are saved.  The adversary, the devil, the enemy, the devil. The lions’ den where Daniel was thrown is a model of hell. On the other hand, it can be seen as a model of the trials and tribulations that Christians face. When you see what Daniel has suffered. After all, we too can face any number of adversities and trials. Come, trial of this, come, come, adversity. I will do it with you. Come, waves. I’ll get on and over. I’ll break through. You have to be prepared for this, not avoid it over and over again. What happens if I try to avoid it? It keeps coming. So some people are in one church and then they go to another church when it’s too hard. Then there’s the devil again. It’s the same. That is why we will be there no matter what difficulties come our way.
You have to endure it and not say it.  I’ve talked about it a long time ago. A pastor was preaching, and a woman came embracing with a child and said that this child is the pastor’s child, and all the people listened. What a trial, how much is it. Even if he explained, would the Saints listen? Would you listen if he said no? Usually, when something happens to the pastor in the church, the elders usually take the side of the people and kick the pastor out. That’s how ignorant it is. But the pastor accepted it and raised the child. When the kid was growing a lot, the woman appeared and repented. These are true Christians like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Look at our ancestors in the old days. Look at Son Yang-won, Joo-Kicheol, Pastor Lee Sung-bong, and people like that. We should imitate the faith of those people, our forefathers. Today, there are not many people who believe in it.  We are guaranteed eternal life in the eternal world. In the short time of the body, we are a little troubled, and this difficulty is a reward for us. It’s superior. Therefore, when others persecute you, rejoice and rejoice. Great is your reward in heaven. Yet, if we forget the word, we don’t want to be rewarded. What is faith? Faith is believing that there is a God and that He is the rewarder of those who seek Him wholeheartedly. That’s faith. Believing in the Reward is a heart that follows the Lord no matter what tribulations or persecutions come our way. Like the Apostle Paul. Right? We’re going out rejoicing until the end. The Apostle Paul rejoices in infirmities, reproaches, persecution, necessities, and distress. It was, right? For whom. Rejoicing for Christ’s sake. What is holding on to the cross?  I hold on to the cross because I think of the Lord’s suffering, and I am grateful that I participated in this suffering. That’s how I get out. This is true faith. He said that if you only believe in God, you believe in the devil. Real faith, of course, is believing in existence. Because he’s inside. But more importantly, if I seek the Lord to the end and endure in faith without being defeated by the devil, He will reward me. This is faith. Oh my God, that’s the way it is. There are the necessary conditions and there are the sufficiency conditions.  You have to have both. It has to be enough. The need is that God lives. This is a necessary condition of faith, and a sufficient condition is that if I love with all my heart and soul and follow the Lord to the end, He will reward me.  He gives me a crown, that’s what I mean.  That’s what David did. In the sight of the enemy, thou hast fed me, and poured oil upon my head, and my cup is overflowing.  You’ve always been tormented by your enemies. Now, when you come down with the Lord, you will be in the sight of the enemy on this earth, that is, the enemy is in the abyss, where you will be fed with the Lord, as ruler.  That’s what I’m talking about. The Lord Jehovah is my shepherd. What it is? I’m a sheep. We must become sheep and submit unconditionally to the word of the Lord. This Psalm 23 is such a tremendous testimony. You know, how many Christians have been bombed to death during the war, or crushed to death by earthquakes, or tortured to death, and the pastor, Back to Jerusalem, the sister of the founder of the church,  is about  66 years old.  She came to this church and gave her testimony, and that testimony is on our site. She went to prison about  50 times. Sister Deborah. she went in 50 times, and she was even got hit in the face with a hammer and everything. But what she said was that every time she was beaten and put in jail, it was as if her rank insignia was going up from heaven.  Think about it, that person didn’t even get married. She is almost 70 years old and living alone and have only one Lord. Yes, she came and testified. We   used to have a  Back to Jerusalem  meeting here once a month for a year, and now the pastor is so busy., and he has to travel all over the world, so he still come to this church once a month. With the Chinese people.   I don’t even know where he is now.  I’ll take him there when the time comes.  One sister was imprisoned with Brother Yun and escaped from prison. She was a sister named Charis, and she suffered a lot. She got married. She had a son named Joshua.  She is a very faithful sister. Yes. Those who suffer in this way are filled with the Holy Spirit because the more they suffer, the more God is with them.  Members of the underground church in the north now. People in the Muslim world don’t know how many people are martyred. Martyrdom continues to this day all over the world. But when we live in the United States and make mistakes, we can be deceived by the devil. If I keep seeking my own comfort, I may end up being overwhelmed by the lusts of the flesh. Because we are saved, the most important thing is that the Lord is always with us, no matter what our circumstances are, and we can never die in difficulty, even if our bodies die.  You could die in an accident. I don’t know. Pastors like David Wilkers died in a car accident. But actually, it’s easiest to die in a car accident. When I heard the testimony of someone who died in a car accident and came back to life, it stung me a little. It stings, but he’s alive. That’s right. God does that. When people look at it, oh, I’ve done a lot of ministry all my life, but did I get into a car accident? That’s a human idea. God doesn’t. How do you Paul?  You went because you were decapitated. If your throat is tight, you’re just going. That’s why it’s better than going through the motions. It’s hard for you and it’s hard for others.
God is always with you, and you will never go to hell. This fact. That’s all you need to do.  What’s more? We’re destined to die anyway.  Isn’t it decided to die once? This does not mean that we cannot sin,  that we do not sin, that we are always protected from suffering, because the Lord is with us.  We can sin, too. To say that you are innocent is to make God a liar. But if you confess your sins, He is trustworthy, and because He is faithful, He forgives us all our sins and cleanses us from all unrighteousness.  We are blessed to confess our sins. But those who are not saved cannot confess. they can’t confess to God. They have nothing to do with God. That’s what I spoke with my kids last Sunday. Saying, There are three kinds of people. First, those who are separated from God are separated from the God. Second,  even if they believed in Jesus and were saved, they were simply separated from the world.  Separated from the world. Some people are consecrated to God separated unto God. These are the three types of people.  Take a good look at what kind of person you are. That’s what I was talking about.  I have to shock them. I have to shock them and shock them from an early age so that they realize it.
Now, this miraculous phenomenon happened, and the king was delighted. That’s why he commanded everyone to tremble and be afraid before Daniel’s God, right? We saw in chapter  3 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, these three faithful young men, who fell into the furnace for not bowing down to the golden image. Not a hair of their head was burned, but they survived. Any nation or tongue that says anything against their God will be ruled by pieces. That’s what Nebuchadnezzar said. Their home will be a compost heap. There is no other god. Now Dario is saying the same thing. Finally, Daniel was pulled up. Just as Jesus died on the cross and was pulled up by an angel. His body did not decay. Jesus Christ was raised up again on the third day. Just as Jesus could not be in the pain of death, Daniel could not be in the pain of death.  Daniel appeared as a shadow, a type of Jesus. After all, our sins have already been paid for by the blood of Jesus. Amen? Eternal redemption was achieved.  It’s already been paid. Even our future sins have been paid. That’s why, even in the Age of the Law, if they sinned  and they thought in the heart  about it, if they thought about it, they did it. If they can think of it, bring a ransom offering. What if they can’t think of one? So when we think about it, we can confess our sins. If only I could think of it. That’s why it’s the gospel. If people don’t understand the gospel, they live in anxiety. Oh, there are sins that I don’t remember, and then I’m going to hell.
I don’t know what the Lord has already paid for. I’m just thinking about this body … That’s why we need to know this gospel properly. Because they don’t know the gospel, a different gospel is being preached these days. So, what happens now? God’s work has been revealed, right? The king was angry. Even if they didn’t, they thought it was because they hated Daniel, but they couldn’t do it because of the laws they had made, and in the end, not only the accuser, but also all the people in the family, including his wife, and his children, threw the whole family to the bottom of the lions’ den, and grabbed them before they could reach them.  How much would have starved the lions? I mean, I starved myself so much that I took it and crushed it to the bone before it even touched the ground. Isn’t that right? When we’re hungry, we chew to the bone, right? Doesn’t this mean that God sent an angel to shut his mouth? On the other hand, many people in the early church were ripped to death by lions. They can die or don’t die, you can live and preach, and if you die, you go to heaven. These words come out of the mouth of the believer. While living on this earth, the breath of the body is cut off, and suffering for a short time is nothing to those who look forward to the eternal kingdom of heaven. In the end, Daniel wins and has peace. So he did. Later, after God has revealed the time of the end while he is sleeping, he may rest in peace, and later he will enjoy his reward. Isn’t it? Would Daniel have been resurrected? Wouldn’t you? Surely the Lord was resurrected when He was resurrected, right? Isn’t that the first resurrection? Later, he will come down with the Lord and enjoy his lot, right?  He will enjoy his lot that shines like many stars in the sky. What shines like a star? The star is the rulership. Even in the world, if you have one star or two, it’s the rulership. Thus, the number of subordinates is determined. The division  commander is one, the corps commander is three, and the army commander is four, and so on. Then the chief is five outlines. That’s why the president isn’t the chief. That’s why, even if you look at the map of this world,  there are stars where there is a capital and a capital city where there is a rulership. There’s a star in Washington, and there’s a star in Sacramento.  The number around the stars is different, the state and the federal government are different. The stars are talking about rulership. For this reason, the one who has led many people in the path of righteousness will shine like the stars in the sky for all eternity. This is what He says to us today, through the parable of the mina. There’s a saying that we buy and get hardships while we have a physical body, but we buy hardships when we’re young, right? This is the wisdom of the people of the world. We’re young now.  Even if you die at 100, you’re young. If we live in the eternal world, we are young. In the Millennium, if you die at the age of 100, you’re a child. When I was young, I had to pay for hardship, but now we have to live our lives in the flesh until the day of the Lord’s coming. What it is? Entering through a narrow door
That’s it. Should I go in through the narrow door? If I enter through the wide door, it is the way to perdition. Nothing at all. If believers go in there, there’s no prize. It’s all eaten up on this earth. That’s why God always has two doors open for everyone. I have to choose.  I told you to go through the narrow door, but I didn’t tell you to put it in. I have to want to. It gave us free will. Do you eat the fruit of good and evil? Do you eat the fruit of life? It gave me free will. He has given us the same free will. That’s why I just have to obey the Word.  You enter through a narrow door. The Lord must rise and I must decline. Then there is no problem. If I don’t do the Lord’s work, if I get a lot of blessings and a lot of respect, then I can’t do the Lord’s work. When we know this, we can go the right way, but Satan doesn’t do that. It’s hard for you to do that, you have to live like that, do you have to believe that?  It’s heaven.  In this way, they corrupt the people, and corrupt the servants of the Lord, so that they cannot preach the gospel, but just live comfortably and let them go. Therefore, we really need to imitate Daniel, the image of the Lord,  and see the salvation that the Lord saves us by enduring to the end in the midst of difficulties. Salvation is not just salvation in heaven. Living on this earth, we must always show that we are saved. May these blessings be in our lives as well. I will pray.
Thank you, Father, for speaking to us today through what happened to Daniel. We also live in this land of old, like Babylon and Mede-Persia, ruled by the Greeks and Romans and the nations of this world. Thank You for giving us the mission to preach this work of redemption so that we may be saved, walk with the Lord, seek out those who will be saved, and preach the Gospel every morning so that we may not be in vain the blood of God the Father, in this place where principalities and powers and dark rulers and evil spirits are now reigning in the air. We thank you for believing that you are always with us, and for giving us eternal redemption, for washing away our sins and cleansing us, even when we sometimes make mistakes and falls, so that we may triumph to the end. Like the Apostle Paul, like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and so many other forefathers of the faith, we are always prepared for Satan’s attacks, so that we can be alert and watchful in prayer, putting on the armor of God and putting on the shoes of peace, and neglecting to preach the gospel.
I earnestly pray that the Lord will help me not to do this.  Help us to shun the lusts of the flesh and to be always awake to God the Father, to beat the flesh into submission, to obey the word of God the Father, so that every single one of us in this church may be born again and overcome all hardships with gratitude and belief in the eternal redemption of God. Help us not to accuse people as if not one person was born again, but rather put Daniel into the lions’ den, and Father, help us to love each other fiercely in the joy of being saved and saved, and help us to be all who can go out and comfort each other and give and comfort each other and share true love with each other no matter what hardships they may face. Is there anyone who suffers? Give them strength, Father God!  Help me to keep in faith until you deliver me from suffering, and then to show me your glory. I thank you and pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
