금주의 성시: 시편 8;1-9

본문: 에베소서 3:1-21

제목: 그리스도의 신비 안에 있는 지식을 깨닫자!

     사도 바울은 주 예수 그리스도께서 직접 주신 계시를 통하여 알게 된 그리스도의 신비 안에 있는 지식을 에베소에 있는 성도들에게 알리기 원하였으며, 동시에 성령님께서는 오늘 날 우리들에게도 알리시기를 원하시는 것이다. 그리스도의 신비는 성령님께서 계시하시지 않으면 어느누구도 알 수 없는 것이다.

     사도 바울은 그리스도의 신비 안에 있는 지식에 대해 “이방인들이 복음을 통하여 그리스도 안에서 공동 상속자가 되고 한 몸이 되며 그의 약속에 동참자가 된다는 것”이다. 이방인들이 그리스도의 복음을 통하여 구원받게 된다는 것은 신비가 아니다.. “하나님 안에서 감추어져 왔던 신비”는 유대인과 이방인이 완전히 새로운 것, 즉 성령침례(고전 12:12,13)를 통하여 유대인과 이방인이라는 구별이 이 세상에서 사라지고 대신에 그리스도의 몸인 교회라는 새로운 개체를 만드시겠다는 하나님의 목적을 이루시는 것이다. 이에 대하여 사도 바울은 증거했다:

“유대인이나 이방인이나, 종이나 자유인이나 한 성령에 의하여 모두가 한 몸 안으로 침례를 받았으며 또 모두가 한 성령 안으로 마시게 되었느니라.”(고전 12;13)

     사도 바울은 자신이 받은 교회에 관한 그리스도의 신비 안에 있는 지식에 대해

     첫째로, 이방인들 가운데 헤아릴 수 없는 그리스도의 풍요함이었으며, 이러한 그리스도의 풍요함들은 성경 여러 곳에 나타나 있다:

지각을 초월하는 하나님의 평강(빌 4:7), 말로 다 표현할 수 없는 하나님의 선물(고후 9:15), 많은 물들로도 끌 수 없는 하나님의 사랑(솔 8:7), 말로 다 설명할 수 없는 하나님의 말씀(고후 12:4), 말할 수 없는 하나님의 기쁨(벧전 1:8), 헤아릴 수 없는 하나님의 위대하심(시 145:3), 헤아릴 수 없는 하나님의 심판(롬 11:33), 완전히 찾아낼 수 없는 하나님 자신(욥 11:7) 등을 들 수 있을 것이다.

     둘째로는 이러한 그리스도의 신비 안에 있는 하나님의 목적은 예수 그리스도를 통하여 만물을 창조하신  하나님 안에서 세상이 시작될 때부터 감추어져 왔던 신비의 교제에 관한 것이었으며,                셋째로, 교회를 통하여 천상에 있는 정사들과 권세들에게 하나님의 다양한 지혜를 알게 하려는 것이라 증거했다. 또한 교회를 통하여 다양한 하나님의 지혜를 알게 하려는 것은 하나님께서 그리스도 예수 우리 주 안에서 계획하신 영원한 목적에 따른 것이라고 증거했다.

     사도 바울은 창세 전에 하나님께서 그리스도 안에서 세우신 영원한 계획에 대하여 미리 증거한 바 있다: “하나님께서 세상의 기초를 놓으시기 이전에 우리로 사랑 안에서 그분 앞에 거룩하고 흠 없게 하시려고 그리스도 안에서 우리를 택하시어 하나님의 기쁘심에 따라 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리를 자신의 자녀로 입양할 것을 예정하셨으니 이는 하나님께서 그 사랑하시는 이 안에서 우리를 받으들이시어 그 은혜의 영광을 찬양케 하려 하심이니라.”(엡 1:4-6)

      또한 하나님의 뜻이 신비로운 것이라고 다시 한 번 증거했다: “그의 기쁘심을 따라 자기 안에서 계획하신 바 그의 뜻의 신비를 우리에게 알게 하셨으니 이는 때가 찬 경륜 안에서 하늘에 있는 것들이나 땅에 있는 것들이나 자신 안에 있는 것들까지도 만물을 그리스도 안에서 하나로 함께 모으려는 것이니라.”(엡 1:9,10)

     창세 전에 하나님께서 신비의 그리스도 안에서 계획을 세우시고 이 땅에 그리스도를 통하여 만물들을 창조하셨다. 사도 바울은 골로새 교회 성도들에게 편지할 때 그리스도가 창조주이심을 확실하게 증거했다:

“그는 보이지 않는 하나님의 형상이시며 모든 피조물의 첫태생이시니 이는 만물이 그에 의하여 창조되되 하늘에 있는 것들과 땅에 있는 것들과 보이는 것들과 보이지 않는 것들과 보좌들이나 주권들이나 정사들이나 권세들이나 만물이 그에 의하여 또 그를 위하여 창조되었기 때문이라.”(골 1:15,16)

     하나님께서 그리스도와 함께 만물을 창조하신 후에 아담과 이브를 창조하셨다. 하나님께서는 그들에게 복을 주시고 하나님께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 “다산하고 번성하여 땅을 다시 채우고 그것을 정복하라. 그리고 바다의 고기와 공붕의 새와 땅 위에서 움직이는 모든 생물을 다스리라.”고 말씀하셨다(창 1:28). 다시 말해서 그들은 이 땅을 다스리기 위하여 하나님에 의하여 기름부음 받은 왕같은 그리스도가 되었던 것이다. 그러나 그들은 뱀의 유혹을 받아 하나님의 말씀을 거역하여 하나님의 기름부음 받은 왕으로서의 자격을 상실하여 에덴에서 쫓겨나게 되었으며 하나님께서는 즉시 또 다른 기름부음 받은 자가 다시 나타나서 왕이 될 것을 뱀에게 선포하셨다:

“내가 너와 여자 사이에, 또 네 씨와 그녀의 씨 사이에 적의를 두리니, 그녀의 씨는 너의 머리를 부술 것이요, 너는 그의 발꿈치를 부술 것이라.”(창 3;15)

     마침내 때가 차매, 하나님께서는 자신의 계획을 이루시기 위하여 태초에 계셨던 말씀이시요 하나님이시며 창조주이신 자신의 독생자를 아담의 모습으로 보내시고 기름부으시어 그리스도가 되게 하시려고 아브라함과 이삭을 부르시고 야곱을 통하여 이스라엘을 만드시고 하나님께서 이스라엘을 여인으로 택하시어 결혼하심으로써 성령을 통하여 마리아의 몸 안에서 아담의 모습으로  “예수”께서 태어나신 것이다. 사도 바울은 이 신비의 지식을 깨닫고 증거했다:

“’첫 사람 아담은 살아 있는 혼이 되었느니라.’ 함과 같이 마지막 아담은 살려주는 영이 되었느니라. 그러나 영적인 몸이 먼저가 아니요, 타고 난 몸이며 그 다음은 영적인 몸이니라. 첫째 사람은 땅에서 나서 흙으로 만들어졌으나 둘째 사람은 하늘에서 난 주시니라. 무릇 흙으로 만들어진 사람은 흙으로 지음받은 것들과 같고 무릇 하늘에서 나신 분은  하늘에 있는 것들과 같으니 우리가 흙으로 만들어진 자의 형상을 입은 것같이 하늘에 속한 형상도 입으리라. 그러나 형제들아, 이제 내가 이것을 말하노니 혈과 육은 하나님의 나나를 상속받을 수 없으며 썩을 것은 썩지 아니하는 것을 상속받을 수 없느니라.”(고전 15:45-50)

     그렇다! 첫 사람 아담을 통하여 지상의 모든 만물들을 다스리고 정복하도록 하신 것처럼 이제는 마지막 아담으로 오셔서 첫 사람 아담이 범죄하여 온 세상에 퍼진 세상 죄를 자신의 피로 제거하시고 그분을 믿는 유대인이나 이방인이나 종이나 자유자나 할 것없이 그분을 믿어 그분의 영을 받은 자들로 하여금 자신의 아내가 되게 하셔서 교회라는 이름 안에 한 몸을 이루게 하시고 그분께서 오실 때 하늘들과 땅에 충만하여 함께 통치하는 풍요한 복을 주신 것이다. 아담과 이브를 창조하시고 “다산하고 번성하여 땅을 다시 채우고 그것을 정복하라”고 말씀하신 것처럼 하나님께서는 마지막 아담이신 주 예수 그리스도와 그의 신부인 교회로 하여금 천상에 있는 정사들과 권세들에게 하나님의 다양한 지혜를 알게 하도록 하셨다. 예수 그리스도와 교회가 한 몸이 되어 유대인이나 이방인이나 모두 그리스도의 한 신부가 되어 하늘들과 땅에 충만하며 그것을 다시 채우고 정복하게 하시려는 것이 하나님께서 그리스도 예수 안에서 게획하신 영원한 목적(11절)이라고 사도 바울이 증거하고 있는 것이다.

     이제 이 그리스도의 신비 안에 있는 지식을 깨닫고 증거한 사도 바울은 그리스도의 몸에 속한 모든 성도들을 위하여 중보기도를 드리고 있다:

“하나님께서 그의 영광의 풍요함을 따라 그의 성령을 통하여 너희 속 사람 안에서 능력으로 너희를 강건하게 하시고 믿음으로 그리스도가 너희 마음 속에 거하게 하시며 너희가 사랑 안에서 뿌리를 내리고 터를 닦아 모든 성도와 함께 그 너비와 길이와 깊이와 높이가 얼마인가를 깨달을 수 있게 해 주시며 또 지식을 초월한 그리스도의 사랑을 알아 너희가 하나님의 모든 충만함으로 가득 차기를 구하노라.”(16-19절)

     하나님의 교회인 그리스도의 신부들이 그리스도와 함께 통치할 하늘들과 땅과 땅 아래가 얼마나 넓고 길고 깊고 높은지 생각해 보았는가? 이제야말로 눈을 들어 하늘들과 땅과 땅 아래를 바라보아야 할 때가 된 것이다. 뿐만 아니라 지식을 초월한 그리스도의 사랑을 알아 하나님의 충만함으로 가득 차야할 때가 된 것이다. 또한 우리 안에서 역사하시는  능력을 따라 우리가 구하는 것이나 생각하는 모든 것보다 훨씬 풍성하게 행할 수 있는 그분께 영광을 돌려야 할 것이다.

Meditation of the week: Psalms 8:1-9

Subject: Knowledge in the mystery of Christ

     Apostle Paul wanted to give the knowledge in the mystery of Christ to Ephesians that was revealed directly unto him by the Lord Jesus Christ. At the same time, the Holy Ghost also wants to give us the same revelation unto us. No one can understand the mystery of Christ unless the Spirit reveals.

     Apostle Paul clarified of the knowledge in the mystery of Christ saying, “That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:”

It is not a mystery that the gentiles are saved through the gospel of Christ. “The mystery that had been hidden in God” is to make the will of God be done that shall make a brand new one through the baptism of the Spirit (1Cor. 12:12, 13) combining the Jews and the Gentiles, that is the church of God which is called as the body of Christ. Apostle Paul testified of this:

“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”(1Cor. 12:13)

     Apostle Paul testified of the knowledge in the mystery of Christ regarding the church:

     The first one is the unsearchable riches of Christ among the Gentiles as stated above.  Such kinds of riches of Christ are revealed in the scriptures: The peace of God which passes all understanding (Phil. 4:7), Unspeakable gift of God (2Cor. 9:15), Love of God that cannot be quenched by many waters (Sol. 8:7), Unspeakable words of God (2Cor. 12;4), Unspeakable joy of God (1Pet. 1:8), Unsearchable greatness of God (Ps. 145:3), Unsearchable judgment of God (Rom. 11:33), The Almighty God unsearchable in perfection (Job 11:7) and so on.

     The second one is the fellowship of the mystery which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ.

     The third one is to intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

     Apostle Paul had already testified of the eternal plan of God in Christ:

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”(Eph. 1:4-6)

     He testified again of the will of God that is mysterious:

“Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him.”(Eph. 1:9, 10)

     Before the foundation of the world, God made a plan in Christ of mystery; and he created all things in the earth through Christ Jesus. Apostle Paul testified of Christ clearly that is the Creator:

“Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: “(Col. 1:15,16)

     God created Adam and Eve after he created all things with Christ; and he blessed them saying,

“Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”(Gen. 1:28)

In other word, they became the king that is Christ anointed by God so that they may subdue the earth. But they were cast out of Eden, for they sinned against God tempted by the serpent, and their anointment was made void. Then the LORD God declared unto the serpent of another anointed One to be the King:

“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”(Gen. 3:15)

     When the time was fulfilled, God called Abram and Isaac; and he formed Israel through Jacob to choose it as the woman; and he was married with the woman. Finally, the Word in the beginning, the God, the Creator, and the only begotten Son of God was born in the name of JESUS from the body of Mary to be Christ which is the Anointed One in the form of Adam. Apostle Paul understood this knowledge of mystery, and testified:

“And so it is written, the first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. “(1Cor. 15:45-50)

     Yes! As God wanted to have dominion and subdue over all things through Adam, now he sent his Son as the last Adam to take away the sin of the world through his blood, and made them his bride that believe in him to receive his Spirit whether they are Jews or Gentiles whether they are bond or free. And he made them his bride to be a body in the name of the church to give them riches of blessing to be full in the heavens and the earth so that they may have dominion with him. As he spoke to Adam and Eve to be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, God intent that unto the principalities and the powers in heavenly places might be known by the Lord Jesus Christ that is the last Adam with his bride that is the church. Apostle Paul testified of the eternal purpose of God that the one body with Jesus Christ and his church consisting of the Jews and the gentiles are to be full in the heavens and the earth to replenish and to subdue.

     Now, Apostle Paul is interceding for all the saints belong to the body of Christ so that they may understand the knowledge of Christ of mystery:

“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”(Eph. 3:16-19)

     Have you ever thought how much wide and long and deep and high are the heavens and the earth and below the earth which are to be ruled by the bride of Christ with him? It is the right time for us to see those areas. It is also right time for us to know the love of Christ, which passes the knowledge, that we might be filled with all the fullness of God. And we have to glorify Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
