금주의 묵상: 시편 24:1-10

본문: 누가복음 19:11-27

제목: 그리스도의 부활과 그의 왕국에서의 영광과 수치

     주 예수 그리스도께서 부활 하신 후 사십일 동안 지상에 계시면서 제자들에게 하나님의 나라에 관한 일들을 말씀하셨다 (행 1;3). 다시 말해서 주님께서는 성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨을 주시는 영적인 하나님의 나라, 즉 믿은 자 속에 이루어지는 하나님의 나라와 자신이 지상에 다시 오실 때 이루어지는 지상에 이루어질 천국에 대하여 말씀하신 것이다. 주님께서 제자들에게 “요한은 정녕 물로 침례를 주었으나 너희는 여러 날이 지나지 않아 성령으로 침례를 받으리라.”고 말씀하셨을 때 제자들은 “주여, 이때에 이스라엘에 그 왕국을 다시 회복하시겠나이까?”라고 물었다. 그때에 주님께서는 그 때는 아버지의 권한에 두었으니 성령이 임하시면 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅 끝까지 이르러 주님의 증인이 될 것을 말씀하셨다. 다시 말해서 이스라엘에 왕국이 회복될 것이지만 교회시대가 지나고 대환란이 지나고 주님께서 지상에 재림하실 때 이스라엘에 왕국을 회복하실 것을 암시하셨던 것이다.

     오늘 본문 말씀은 주님께서 십자가에서 세상 죄를 대속하시기 위하여 피흘려 죽으시고 장사되신 후 셋째 날에 살아나셔서 하늘로 들려올라가실 것에 대하여 말씀하신 것이다. 당시 사람들은 하나님의 나라가 당장에 올 줄로 생각하였기 때문이라고 말씀하신다. 주님께서는 먼 나라에 왕국을 받아서 돌아오려고 먼 나라로 가는 귀인에 대하여 비유로 말씀하신다. 이것은 주님 자신에 대한 비유임을  알 수 있다.

     주님께서는 왕국을 받아 땅에 다시 오시는 주님에 대하여 사도 요한을 통하여 분명하게 보여주셨다: “또 내가 하늘이 열린 것을 보니 휜 말이 보이더라. 그 위에 앉으신 분은 신실과 진실이라 불리며 의로 심판하고 싸우시더라. 그의 눈은 불꽃같고 머리에는 많은 왕관이 있는데 또 한 이름이 기록되어 있는데 그 자신 외에는 아무도 모르며 피에 적신 옷을 입엇는데 그의 이름은 하나님의 말씀이라고 불리더라. 또 하늘에 있는 군대들은 희고 정결한 세마포를 입고 흰 말들을 타고 그를 따르더라. 그의 입에서는 에리한 칼이 나와서 그것으로 민족들을 칠 것이요 또 철장으로 그들을 다스릴 것이며, 그는 전능하신 하나님의 맹렬한 진노의 포도즙틀을 밟으실 것이라. 또 그의 옷과 넓적다리에 이름이 기록되어 있는데 “만왕의 왕, 또 만주의 주”라 하였더라.”(계 19:11-16)

      사도 요한은 예수 그리스도에 대하여 이미 증거하였다: “태초에 말씀이 계셨고, 그 말씀이 하나님과 함께 계셨으니, 그 말씀은 하나님이셨느니라. 그 말씀이 태초에 하나님과 함께 계셨느니라. 만물은 그의 의하여 지은 바 되었으며, 이미 지음받은 것 가운데 그가 없이 지어진 것은 아무 것도 없더라….그 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시므로, (우리가 그의 영광을 보니, 아버지의 독생자의 영광으로) 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라.”(요 1:1-3,14)

     그렇다! 본문에서 열명의 종들을 불러 각자에게 한 므나씩 주시면서 “내가 올 때까지 장사하라.”고 말씀하신 분은 태초의 말씀이시며 하나님이시며 창조주이신 주 예수 그리스도 자신이시며 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 다시 오실 때 종들을 심판하실 것을 말씀하신 것이다. 사도 요한은 요한계시록 마지막 장에서 동일한 증거를 하고 있다: “보라, 내가 속히 오리니 내가 줄 상이 내게 있어 각 사람에게 그의 행위에 따라 주리라.”(계 22:12)

     그러나 그의 백성들은 그를 미워하여 그의 뒤로 소식을 보내면서 말하기를 “우리는 이 사람이 우리를 통치하는 것을 원치 아니한다.”고 말했다. 이것을 볼 때, 열명의 종들은 유대인들이 아닌 다른 사람들인 것을 알 수 있으며 이들은 유대인이나 이방인 가운데 예수 그리스도를 믿어 영접하여 성령을 받게 될 그리스도인들임을 암시하고 있는 것이다.

     므나는 헬라어로 돈(money)을 의미하며, 킹제임스 영어성경에서는 파운드(pound)로 나타나고 있다. 다시 말해서 열명의 종들에게 각각 한 파운드씩 주셨다고 말씀하시는 것이다. 또한 장사하라는 것에 대하여 영어로는 차지하라(occupy)는 뜻으로 말씀하셨다. 그리스도인들에게 똑같이 동일하게 주신 것이 무엇인가? 또한 무게가 한 파운드 정도 되는 것이 무엇일까? 우리 모두에게는 하나님의 말씀이 들어있는 성경책 한 권씩을 주시지 않았는가? 성경책 외에 다른 무엇을 주신 것이 있는가? 직분이나 은사는 여러가지이며 각 사람에게 믿음의 분량대로 주셧지만 성경책은 어느누구에게나 한 권씩 주시지 않았는가?.

     성령께서는 사도 바울을 통하여 본문 말씀과 관련하여 증거했다: “
그러므로 너희는 믿음으로 난 사람들이 아브라함의 자손임을 알라. 성경은 하나님께서 이방인들을 믿음으로 말미암아 의롭게 하실 것을 미리 보고 먼저 아브라함에게 복음을 전파하기를 ‘네 안에서 모든 민족이 복을 받으리라.’고 하였느니;라. 그러므로 믿음으로 난 사람들은 믿음이 있는 아브라함과 더불어 복을 받느니라.”(갈 3:7-9)

     그러면 아브라함은 어떤 복을 받았는가? 조카 롯이 떠난 후에 하나님께서 아브라함에게 말씀하셨다: “이제 네 눈을 들어 네가 있는 곳에서부터 북쪽과 남쪽과 동쪽과 서쪽을 바라보라. 이는 네가 보는 모든 땅을 내가 네게 줄 것이며, 네 씨에게 영원히 주고 내가 네 씨를 땅의 티끌 같게 할 것임이니, 사람이 땅의 티끌을 셀 수 있다면 네 씨도 셀 수 있으리라. 일어나서 그 땅을 가로와 세로롤 걸으라. 내가 그것을 네게 주겠음이라.”(창 13:14-17) 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 앞으로 주실 통치권에 대하여 말씀하신 것이다.

     본문에서도 주님께서는 통치권에 대하여 말씀하신다. 다시 말해서 주님께서 주시는 상급은 통치권인 것이다. 이에 대하여 사도 바울도 증거했다: “우리가 참으면 우리도 그와 함께 다스릴 것이요 우리가 그를 부인하면 그도 우리를 부인할 것이라.”(딤후 2:12)

“이는 이방인들이 복음을 통하여 그리스도 안에서 공동상속자가 되고 한 몸이 되며 그의 약속에 동참자가 된다는 것이니라.”(엡 3:6)

“자녀이면 또한 상속자들이니 하나님의 상속자들이요, 그리스도와 함께한 공동 상속자들이니 우리가 그와 함께 고난을 받은 것은 함께 영광도 받게 하려 함이니라.”(롬 8:17)

     선지자 다니엘도 통치권에 대하여 증거했다: “땅의 흙 속에서 잠자는 많은 사람들이 깨어날 것이며, 얼마는 영원한 생명을 얻겠고, 얼마는 영원한 수치와 영원한 모욕을 받으리라. 현명한 자들은 창공의 광명처럼 빛날 것이요, 많은 사람을 의로 돌이키는 자들은 별들처럼 영원무궁토록 빛나리라.”(단 12:2,3) 잠언 기자는 “혼들을 이겨오는 자는  현명하니라.”(잠 11:30)고 증거했다. 그렇다! 별은 통치권을 의미하기에 현 세상에서도 통치권이 있는 주요 도시들은 별로 표시되고 있는 것이다. 또한 세상 군대에서도 통치권이 있는 장군들에게는 별이 주어지는 것이다.

     하나님의 나라에서도 다섯 가지 면류관이 있어서 므나를 남긴 만큼 면류관들이 주어지는 것이다. 면류관을 차지하는 사람들이 이 땅에서 고난 가운데 하는 일들은 그야말로 하나님의 말씀을 신뢰하면서 말씀을 전파하여 많은 사람들을 하나님의 의로 인도하는 일들인 것이며 그리스도와 함께 고난 받는 삶을 산 사람들에게 주시는 것이다. 죽기까지 신실한 자에게 주시는 생명의 면류관(계 2:10), 주님의 나타나심을 사모하는 모든 사람에게 주시는 의의 면류관(딤후 4:8), 많은 영혼들을 주님께로 인도하는 자들에게 주시는 기쁨의 면류관(빌 4:1), 충성스런 목자들에게 주시는 시들지 않는 영광의 면류관(벧전 5:4), 모든 일에 자제하는 자들에게 주시는 썩지않을 면류관(고전 9:25)이 예비되어 있는 것이다.

     사도 요한은 환란 끝에 그리스도의 왕국이 이 땅에 임하는 것을 들으며 증거했다:“그 후에 일곱째 천사가 나팔을 부니, 하늘에서 큰 음성들이 있어 말하기를 ‘이 세상의 나라들이 우리 주와 그의 그리스도의 왕국들이 되어서 그분이 영원 무궁토록 통치하시리라.”(계 11:15)

     주님께서 오실 때 그분께서 왕이 되어 통치하는 것을  원치 않는 사람들은 모두 죽임을 당할 것이며 므나를 손수건에 싸서 간직한 게으른 종들은 영원토록 악한 종이라 칭함을 받게 될 것이다.   그러므로 사도바울은 고린도 교회 성도들에게 권면했다: “그러므로 나의 사랑하는 형제들아, 견고하라, 흔들리지 말라. 한상 주의 일을 넘치게 하라. 이는 너희의 수고가 주 안에서 헛되지 아니한 줄을 너희가 앎이니라.”(고전 15:58)

우리가 그리스도의 고난을 마음 깊히 아파하고 있다면 말로만이 아니요 지금 그리스도의 고난에 동참해야 하는 것이다.

Meditation of the week: Psalms 24:1-10

Main scripture: Luke 19:11-27

Subject: The resurrection of Christ, and glory and shame in his kingdom

     After resurrection, Jesus was seen of his disciples forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God (Act 1:3). In other word, he spoke of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost, that in the spiritual kingdom of God in the believers, and of the kingdom of heaven to be presented in the earth when he comes back. When Jesus spoke to his disciples, “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence”, they asked him, “Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?” Then Jesus said unto them, it is not for you to know the times or seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power; but ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. In other word, Israel should be restored, but it will come to pass after the church age and Great Tribulation are to be passed by, when Jesus come back to the earth.

     The main passage testifies implies that Jesus shall be lifted to the heaven after he sheds his blood to redeem the sin of the world to death, and buried, and rise again the third day. At that time, the Jews thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear. Therefore Jesus compared him with a certain noble man that goes into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.

     Apostle John testified of the Lord Jesus that returns to the earth with a kingdom: “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”(Rev. 19:11-16)

     Apostle John had already testified of Jesus Christ: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God….The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made….And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”(John 1; 1-3,14)

     Yes! In the main passage, it was Jesus that spoke his ten servants giving them ten pounds, and asking them, Occupy till I come. He is the Word in the beginning, and God, and the Creator, and the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords that will judge his servants when he comes. Apostle John testified of him that is to come: “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”(Rev. 22:12)

     But the people of Israel hated him, and sent a message after him, saying “We will not have this man to reign over us.” Therefore the ten servants seem not to be the Jews, but the future Christians that are to believe in him, and to receive the Holy Ghost whether the Jews or the Gentiles.

     Mina means money in Greek, the King James Bible describe it as “Pound”.  Ten servants received a pound each. To make business is to be described as “Occupy”. Then what is a thing that is given unto Christian?  And what is to be weighed a pound. What about the bible that contains the word of God given unto all of us without any discrimination? Even though there are various vocations and gifts given unto us according to the level of faith, but a bible is given unto everyone.

     The Holy Ghost testified through Apostle Paul related to the main passage: “Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.”(Gal. 3:7-9)

     Then what kind of blessing Abraham received? The LORD God spoke to him, after Lot, his nephew departed from him: “And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. “(Gen. 13:14-17)  Actually, God told him of the reigning power to be given unto him in the future.

     In the main passage, the Lord Jesus speaks to us of the ruling power that is the reward. Apostle Paul testified of this: “If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:”(2Tim. 2:12)

“That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:”(Eph. 3:6)

“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”(Rom. 8:17)

     Prophet Daniel also testified:  “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever. “(Dan. 12:2,3)

The writer of Proverb also testified: “…..he that winneth souls is wise.”(Prov. 11:30)

Yes! Star means the ruling power; and major cities are marked with stars in this world; and generals in the armies in the world are given stars that have ruling power.

     In the kingdom of God, five different kinds of crowns are to be given to them as much as they gain the pounds. They that are to receive the crown are doing ministry of the Lord in the earth suffering with Christ only trusting in the word of God preaching the word of God to lead many to the righteousness of God; the crown of life for them that are faithful unto death (Rev. 2:10); the crown of righteousness for them that love his appearing (2Tim. 4:8); the crown of joy for them that win many souls (Phil. 4:1); the crown of glory that fades not away for the faithful pastors (1Pet. 5:4); the incorruptible crown for them  that are temperate in all things (1Cor. 9:25).

     Apostle John testified of the kingdom of Christ that is coming on the earth at the end of the Great Tribulation: “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”(Rev. 11:15)

     When the Lord Jesus come back to the earth, they that would not want Jesus to reign over them shall be slay. And the lazy servants that have kept the pound to be laid up in the napkin shall be called as the wicked servant forever to shame. Therefore Apostle Paul encouraged the Corinthians:

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”(1Cor. 15:58)

Whosoever have pain because of Christ’s suffering for us, they must be the partaker of his suffering in present time.
