금주의 묵상: 시편 23:1-6

본문: 디모데후서 1:7-18

제목: 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 것들

     사도 바울은 목회자 디모데에게 영들을 분별하는 아주 중요한 말씀을 성령 안에서 주시고 있다. 특별히 목회자들은 영들을 잘 분별하여 사탄의 영들이 교회 안에 자리잡지 못하도록 하여야 하는 것이다. 그러나 사탄이 끊임없이 공격하는 곳은 세상 사람들이 모이는 장소도 아니요 음란과 범죄가 들끓는 곳도 아닌 바로 하나님의 교회임을 기억해야 하는 것이다. 사탄은 뿔을 달고 험악하게 나타나는 것이 아니며 오히려 빛의 천사로 가장하여 (고후 11;13,14) 교회 안으로 들어오는 것 또한 잊지 말아야 할 것이다. 교회는 어떤 사람이라도 들어올 수 있는 곳이며 그들을 못들어오게 해서도 안되는 곳이다. 다만 그들이 들어와서 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 회개하고 주 예수 그리스도를 마음에 온전히 믿어 영접하기만 하면 누구나가 그리스도의 몸의 지체가 될 수 있는 것 또한 잊지 말아야 하는 것이다.

     사도 바울은 하나님의 영이 우리에게 주시는 것을 크게 세 가지로 요약하여 증거하고 있다. 다시 말해서 이 세 가지 영과 반대되는 그 어떤 것도 하나님이 주시는 영이 아니며 다시 말해서 우리의 적인 사탄이 주는 것임을 분명하게 증거하고 있는 것이다. 하나님은 영이시다. 그러나 우리가 분명하게 기억해야 하는 것은 사탄도 영이라는 사실이다. 하나님은 전능하신 분이시다. 그러나 사탄도 우리의 힘으로는 상대할 수 없는 능력자임을 또한 잊지 말아야 할 것이다. 본문에서 사도 바울은 하나님께서 주시는 영은 세 가지이지만 사탄이 주는 것은 두려워하는 영이라고 단호하게 증거하고 있는 것이다. 다시 말해서 두려워하는 영을 통하여 두려움이 마음과 생각과 상상에 들어올 때 우리는 단호하게 대적해야 하는 것이다. 그 순간을 놓치고 두려워하는 마음을 받아들이게 되면 사탄은 우리 마음 속에 자리 잡게 되기 때문이다. 이로 인하여 사도 야고보는 “그러므로 하나님께 복종하라. 마귀를 대적하라. 그리하면 그가 너희로부터 도망가리라. 하나님께 가까이 다가가라. 그리하면 그분께서도 너희에게 가까이 다가가시리라. 너희 죄인들아 손을 깨끗이 하라. 너희 두 마음을 품은 자들아 마음을 정결케 하라.”(약 4:7,8)고 증거했다.

그렇다! 언제라도 사탄이 주는 두려워하는 영을 통하여 두려움이 오게 되면 즉시 “사탄아 물러가라!”고 외치며 대적하여 두려움이 마음 속에 자리잡지 못하도록 대적하여야 하는 것이다. 동시에 하나님께  능력과 사랑과 건전한 생각의 영을 달라고 간구해야 하는 것이다.

     하나님의 형상을 따라 창조된 사람은 누구나 영과 혼과 몸 세 가지를 동시에 가지고 사는 것이다. 사탄은 몸의 오감각을 통하여 두려워하는 영을 주입하여 혼과 영이 육신의 지배를 받아 하나님의 일을 하지 못하도록 방해하는 것을 잊지 말아야 한다. 그러므로 우리는 우리의 영과 혼과 몸미 항상 성령 안에서 무시로 기도하며 말씀으로 무장하여 하나님께서 공급하시는 능력과 사랑과 건전한 생각의 영으로 충만함으로써 사탄이 주는 두려움으로부터 자유하는 삶을 누려여 하는 것이다.

     그러면 하나님께서 우리에게 주시는 세 가지 영들이 어떤 것들인지 하나님의 말씀을 통하여 깨닫는 것이야말로 영적으로 무장하는 길이 될 것이다.

     첫째로, 하나님께서 주시는 능력이 무엇인가? 성령께서는 역시 사도 바울을 통하여 아주 구체적으로 말씀하신다: “지극히 위대한 계시들의 풍성함으로 인하여 내가 자고하지 않도록 육체에 한 가시, 즉 사탄의 사자를 내게 주셨으니 그가 나를 쳐서 자고하지 않도록 못하게 하려 하심이라. 이를 위하여 세 번이나 그것을 내게서 제거해 달라고 주께 간구하였는데 주께서 내게 말씀하시기를 ‘내 은혜가 네게 충분하도다. 이는 내 능력이 약한데서 온전하게 된이니라.’고 하셨느니라. 그러므로 내가 오히려 매우 기쁘게 나의 약한 것들을 자랑하리니 이는 그리스도의 능력이 내게 거하게 하려 함이라. 그러므로 내가 그리스도를 위하여 약한 것들과 모욕과 궁핍과 박해와 곤경을 기뻐하노니 이는 내가 약할 때 곧 내가 강하기 때문이라.”(고후 12:7-10)

     성령께서는 이와 관련하여 사도 바울은 통하여 육신과 성령의 관계에 대하여 증거했다: “내가 이것을 말하노니 성령 안에서 행하라. 그리하면  너희는 육신의 정욕을 이루지 아니하리라. 육신은 성령을 거슬러 욕심을 부리며 성령은 육신을 거스리나니 이들은 서로 반목하여서 너희가 하고자 하는 것을 하지 못하게 하느니라.”(갈 5:16,17) 그렇다! 육신의 능력이 강하게 역사할 때 성령께서는 능력을 주실 수 없는 것이다. 이미 우리 육신은 십자가에서 그리스도와 함께 처형되어 이미 죽었다는 사실을 절대로 잊지 말아야 한다.(롬 6:6, 갈 2:20) 이것이 우리가 약할 때에 기뻐해야 하는 이유인 것이다. 바로 이때에 그리스도의 능력을 받을 때이기 때문이다. 모든 약함 가운데서 이 능력을 받은 사도 바울은 “내게 능력주시는 그리스도를 통하여 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라.”(빌 4;13)고 증거했다.

    둘째로 하나님께서 주시는 사랑의 영이 무엇인가. 성령께서는 사도 바울을 통하여 아주 구체적으로 증거하고 있다: “사랑은 오래 참고 친절하며 사랑은 시기하지 아니하고 사랑은 자랑하지 아니하며 교만하지 아니하고 무레하게 행하지 아니하며 자신의 유익을 추구하지 아니하고 급히 성내지 아니하며 악을 생각히지 아니하고 불의를 기뻐하지 아니하며 진리를 기뻐하고 모든 것을 참으며 모든 것을 믿고 모든 것을 바라며 모든 것을 견뎌 내느니라.”(고전 13:4-7) 그렇다! 하나님께서 주시는 사랑 안에 있는 모든 좋은 것들을 얼마나 구체적으로 우리에게 말씀하시고 계시는가? 문자만 터득한 사람이라면 누구라도 알수 있도록 말씀하시는 것이다. 하나님께 감사와 찬송과 영광을 돌려야하지 않겠는가?

     셋째로, 하나님께서 주시는 영은 건전한 생각(sound mind)의 영이다. 다시 말해서 건강한 정신 안에 들어있는 건강한 마음인 것이다. 이 건전한 마음은 하나님께서 주시는 영 이다. 이 건전한 생각의 영이 없을 때에 사탄은 자신의 생각을 주입하여 마음이 병들게 하여 약하게 만들고 자신의 말이나 생각들이나 환상들을 환청을 통하여 듣게 하거나 보게함으로써 자신의 종으로 삼아 교회에서 문제들을 일으키게 하는 것이다. 특별히 마음에 상처들이 있는 사람들이 정신적으로 연약할 때에 그 연약함을 파고들어 자신의 종으로 삼아 사용하게 되는 것이다. 그러므로 성령께서 하나님의 자녀들에게 역사하시는 첫 번째 사역은 상한 마음을 치유하시는 일인 것이다. 이에 대하여 우리 주님께서 직접 말씀하셨다: “주의 영이 내게 임하시니 이는 가난한 자들에게 복음을 전하게 하시려고 내게 기름을 부으심이라. 그가 나를 보내셨으니 이는 마음이 상한 자를 치유케 하시며, 포로들에게 구원을 선포하고, 눈먼자를 보게 하고, 짓밟힌 자들을 해방시켜주고 주이 기뻐 받으시는 해를 전파하게 하심이라.”(눅 4:18,19) 그렇다! 지금도 성령께서는 자신의 기름부으심을 통하여 상한 심령으로 인하여 연약하게 된 마음을 치유하시는 것이다.

     옛날 우스 땅에 살았던 욥이 온전하고 정직하며, 하나님을 두려워하고 악을 피하는 사람이었다. 그러나 그의 마음에 두려워하는 영을 받아들였을 때 모든 두려운 일들이 자신에게 임했다고 고백했다: “이는 내가 크게 두려워하는 것이 내게 임하였고 내가 무서워하는 것이 내게 임하였음이라.”(욥 3:25)

    그렇다! 우리에게 주신 영과 혼과 몸을 하나님께서 주시는 영들로 채워서 사탄이 주는 두려워하는 영이 들어오지 못하도록 항상 깨어서 기도하며 대적해야 하는 것이다. 또한 항상 성령충만을 구하여 육신의 생각이 우리 안에 자리잡지 못하도록 경건의 연습을 해야 하는 것이다. 다시 말해서 능력과 사랑과 건전한 생각의 영이 모두 성령 안에 있는 것들이기 때문이다. 하나님의 전신갑옷을 입고 정사와 권세와 어두움의 주관자들과 높은 곳이 있는 영적 악과 싸워 승리하는 자들만이 성령충만 함을 누릴 수 있는 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 23:1-6

Main scripture: 2Timothy 1:7-18

Subject: Things that God has given to us

     Apostle Paul gave a very important word to pastor Timothy regarding to discerning spirit. Especially pastors have to discern the spirits so that the spirits of the Satan may not be rooted in the church of God. The Satan never attacks the place where worldly people gather together or adulterous and sinful places, but the very church of God. The Satan never reveal himself wearing horns on his head, but as the angel of light to enter into the church (2Cor. 11:13,14). The church of God is the place where anyone could come in; and on one could be rejected to come. But they should repent their sins upon hearing the word of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ in their heart; then they could be the members of the body of Christ.

     Apostle Paul testified of three spirits given by God in summary. In other word, any spirit that is against the three spirits is not from God, but from the Satan. God is Spirit. But more important things is that the Satan, our enemy is also spirit. God is Almighty One. But we are not to forget that the Satan is also very powerful one that we cannot overcome with our power. In the main passage, Apostle Paul testifies very clearly of three spirits given by God, but the spirit that is from the Satan is the spirit of fear. In other word, we have to resist the spirit of fear when the fear enters into our heart, thoughts, and imagination. If we miss the moment allowing the fear come into our heart, then the spirit of Satan is to settle down in our heart. Therefore Apostle James testified, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.”(James 4:7,8)

Yes! Whenever the spirit of fear tries to come in our heart through the Satan, we have to resist the Satan shouting, “Satan, go away from me!” so that the spirit of fear may not occupy our heart. At the same time, we have to make supplication unto God for the spirit of power, love, and sound mind.

     All men consist of spirit, soul and body, for they are created in the image and likeness of God. The Satan always tries to inject the spirit of fear to men through their five senses of body so that their spirit and soul may be controlled by their body. Therefore our spirit and soul and body should pray in the Spirit, and we have to be equipped by the word of God to be filled with power and love and sound mind to be free from the spirit of fear coming from the Satan.

     Then what are the three spirits from God? We can be equipped spiritually through understanding those through the word of God.

     Firstly, what is the power given by God? The Holy Spirit spoke through Apostle Paul in details: “And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”(2Cor. 12:7-10)

     Regarding to this, the Holy Spirit testified through Apostle Paul of the relationship between the Spirit and flesh: “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.”(Gal. 5:16,17)

Yes! When the power of flesh prevails over the Spirit, the power of God cannot be activated. We cannot forget a very important truth that our body was already crucified with Christ on the cross (Rom. 6:6, Gal. 2:20). This is the very reason why we have to rejoice when we are weak, for it is the right time when we receive the power of Christ. Apostle Paul testified of such strength given in the mist of infirmity: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”(Phil. 4:13)

     Secondly, what is the spirit of love given by God? Apostle Paul testified of this very clearly saying of charity:: “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”(1Cor. 3:4-7)

Yes! What a wonderful things of goodness that are in the love of God? Whosoever is educated at the level of elementary school could understand of these things. This is the reason why we have to glorify God with thanksgiving and praise.

     Thirdly, it is the spirit of sound mind. In other word, it is the sound mind in the sound thoughts. This is given by God. Lacking of this sound mind, the Satan is willing to inject his thoughts so that we are weak unto sickness; then he tries to make them his slave through false visions as well as false hearing to seduce the church. Therefore, the first ministry of the Holy Ghost for the children of God is to heal the broken heart. The Lord Jesus testified of this by himself:

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. “(Luke 4:18,19)

Yes! Even nowadays, the Holy Ghost is healing the weaken heart because of broken heart through his anointment.

    The man, Job living in the land of Uz was perfect and upright, and feared God, and eschewed evil. But when he received the spirit of fear in his heart, he confessed the things which he feared came to him:

“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”(Job 3:25)

     Yes! We have to be filled with the spirits from God in our spirit and soul and body so that the spirit of fear from the Satan may not come in us through prayer. We also have to make supplication for the fullness of the Spirit so that the thoughts may not occupy our heart through exercise of godliness, the spirits of power and love and sound mind are all in the Spirit. Being equipped with the whole armor of God let us fullness of the Spirit through victory against the Principalities, the Power, the rulers of darkness of this world, and the evil spirits in the air. Amen! Hallelujah!
