금주의 묵상: 시편 45:1-17

본문: 창세기 24:1-9

제목: 독생자를 위하여 신부를 찾으시는 하나님

       우리는 본문을 통하여 미래에 하나님께서 이삭의 자손으로 오실 그의 독생자이신 주 예수 그리스도의 신부감을 찾으시는 하나님의 모습을 본다. 엘리에셀은 아브라함의 충성스러운 종이다. 아브라함이 자식이 없었을 때 그는 하나님께 엘리에셀이 자신의 상속자가 될 것이라고 말씀드렸을 정도롤 그는 충성스런 종이었다. 그러나 하나님께서는 아브라함 자신의 몸에서 나올 자가 그의 상속자가 될 것이라고 말씀하셨다 (창 15:4).

     하나님께서 아브라함에게 약속하신대로 독생자 이삭을 주셨다. 그리고 이삭은 아버지 아브라함의 말씀에 순종하여 하나님께 희생제물이 되어 죽기까지 기꺼히 순종하였다. 하나님께서는 숫양 한 마리를 이삭 대신에 준비하셔서 번제물이 되게 하셨다. 성령께서는 사도 바울을 통하여 “그(아브라함)는 하나님께서 죽은 자들로부터 그를 살리실 수 있으리라고 생각하였으며, 이로써 그는 모형으로 그를 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 받은 것이니라.”(히 11:19)고 증거했다.

     이삭은 아버지 하나님께 순종하여 기꺼히 십자가로 가셔서 죽으셨다가 부활하신 예수 그리스도의 모형인 것이다. 사도 바울은 이삭같이 아버지께 순종한 예수 그리스도에 대하여 증거했다: “그는 하나님의 형체로 계시므로 하나님과 동등하게 되는 것을 탈취라 생각지 아니하였으나 오히려 자신의 영예를 버리고 종의 형체를 입으시어 사람들의 모습을 취하셨느니라. 그리하여 사람과 같은 모양으로 나타나셔서 자신을 낮추시고 죽음에까지 순종하셨으니 십자가의 죽음에까지라. 이로 인하여 하나님께서는 그를 지극히 높이시고 모든 이름 위에 있는 한 이름을 주사 하늘에 있는 것이나 땅 위에 있는 것이나 땅 아래 있는 것이나 모든 무릎을 예수의 이름에 꿇게 하시고 모든 혀가 예수 그리스도를 주라 시인하여 하나님 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하셨느니라”(빌 2:6-11)

    또 성령께서는 사도 바울을 통하여 아브라힘의 씨가 이삭이 아닌 그리스도라고 분명하게 증거했는 바 이삭은 오실 그리스도의 모형임을 증거했다: “이제 그 약속들(성령)은  아브라함과 그 씨에게 하신 것인데 많은 사람을 가리켜 씨들이라고 말씀하시지 아니하시고 한 사람을 가리켜 너의 씨라고 말씀하셨으니 그는 그리스도시라.”(갈 3:16)

     이제 아브라함은 그의 독자 이삭의 아내를 찾아주기 위하여 그의 충성스런 종 엘리에셀을 불러서 그에게 자신의 아들 이삭의 아내를 찾아내어 데려올 것을 명했다: “내가 네게 청하노니, 네 손을 내 넓적다리 밑에 넣으라. 내가 하늘의 하나님이시며, 땅의 하나님이신 주를 두고 너로 맹세하리니, 너는 내가 거하는 카나안인들의 딸들 중에서 내 아들을 위하여 아내를 얻지 말고 너는 내 고향 내 친족에게 가서, 내 아들 이삭을 위하여 아내를 얻으라.”(창 24:2-4)

     이 장면에서 우리는 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 보내신 성령님의 모습을 볼 수 있다. 예수께서 자신의 이름으로 아버지께서 땅에 보내실 성령에 대하여 말씀하셨다: “그러나 내가 아버지께로부터 너희에게 보낼 위로자, 곧 아버지께로부터 나오시는 진리의 영이 오시면 그가 나에 대하여 증거하시리라. 너희도 처음부터 나와 함께 있었으므로 중거하느니라.”(요 15:26,27)

     다시 말해서 이 땅에 오신 성령께서는 진리이신 예수 그리스도를 전하심으로 세상을 위로하시며 모든 사람들로 하여금 죄악 세상으로부터 돌이켜 회개하고 진리이신 예수 그리스도께로 돌아와 그분을 영접함으로 그분의 영을 받아 하나님의 자녀가 되며 동시에 예수 그리스도의 아내가 되게 하려고 땅에 오실 것을 말씀하신 것이다.

     엘리에셀은 천사의 도움으로 찾은 리브카의 집에 갔을 때, 이삭에 대하여 증거했다: “내 주인의 아내 사라가 늙어서 나의 주인에게 아들을 낳았더니 그가 자기의 모든 소유를 그 아들에게 주었나이다.”(창 24:36)

리브카의 어머니와 오라비는 리브카를 열흘 동안 집에 머물게 한 후에 데려가라고 엘레에셀에게 말했지만 리브카는 당장 자기 집을 떠나서 엘레에셀을 따라가기로 결심하고 이삭과 혼인하기 위하여 길을 떠났다.

     한편 이삭은 저녁 때에 묵상하였는데, 그가 눈을 들어 엘리에셀이 리브카와 함께 오는 것을 보게 되었으며 리브카는 눈을 들어 이삭을 보고 낙타에서 내려와서 자신의 너울을 들어 자신을 가렸다. 이삭은 즉시 그녀를 자기 모친 사라의 장막으로 가서 리브카를 취했다.

     여기에서 우리는 그리스도의 신부들이 광야 같은 세상을 걸어가다가 공중에 나타나시는 주 예수 그리스도를 발견하여 “이리 올라오라!”(계 4;1)는 그분의 음성을 듣고 공중으로 끌려올라가서(살전 4:16-18, 고전 15:51-53) 그와 혼인하는 이른바 휴거의 장면을 미리 보는 것이다.

     리브카는 그녀의 남편이 될 이삭에 대해 들은 순간 즉시 그의 아내가 되기로 결심하고 하루도 지체하지 않고 엘레에셀을 따라 나섰다. 마찬가지로 엘레에셀같은 성령을 통하여 주 예수 그리스도에 대하여 들은 그리스도의 신부들 역시 지체없이 모든 것을 떠나 그리스도를 따라가기로 결심하고 세상으로부터 돌이켜 죄들을 회개하고 그분을 주와 구세주로 영접하여 그리스도인이 되는 것이다.

     부활하신 주님께서는 자신이 이삭처럼 하늘과 땅에 있는 아버지 하나님의 모든 것을 받으신 사실을 증거했다: “ 하늘과 땅에 있는 모든 권세를 나에게 주셨도다….보라, 내가 세상 끝까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라.”(마 28:19,20)

    지금도 성령께서는 그리스도의 신부가 되기 원하는 자들을 찾아다니신다. 성령께서 이 땅에 오시기 전, 주님 자신도 모든 것을 버리고 자신을 따라오는 자들, 즉 자신의 신부들이 받을 축복에 대하여 친히 증거하셨다: “진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 누구든지 나와 복음을 위하여 집이나 형제나, 자매나, 아버지나, 어머니나, 아내나, 자식이나, 토지를 버린 사람은 현세에서는 집이나, 형제나 자매나, 어머니나 자식을 일백 배로 받되 박해와 더불어 받겠으며, 또 오는 세상 (그리스도의 천년왕국)에서는 영생을 얻으리라.. 그러나 먼저 된 많은 사람이 나중 되고 나중 된 사람들이 먼저 되리라.”(막 10:29-31)

     자신의 독생자의 신부가 되기 위하여 마가의 다락방에서 기도하며 기다리던 120 명의 형제자매들 위에 엘리에셀 같은 성령께서 임하시고 그들 안에 거처를 정하셨다. 뿐만 아니라 주님께서 부활하신 후 승천하시기 전에 그들에게 성령이 임하실 것을 말씀하시면서 “성령께서 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 능력을 받으리니 그러면 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅끝까지 이르어 내게 증인이 되리라.”(행 1:8)고 말씀하셨다.

     다시 말해서 예수 그리스도를 주로 시인하고 그리스도의 영이신 성령을 받은 사람은 자신이 먼저 그리스도의 신부가 되겠다고 부모친척을 떠난 리브가처럼 예수 그리스도의 신부가 될뿐 아니라 하나님 아버지의 충성스런 종 엘리에셀 처럼 하나님의 넓적다리 밑에 손을 넣고 맹세한 사람과  같이 그리스도의 신부가 될 사람을 찾아 복음을 전하는 전도자가 되는 것이다..

     사도 바울은 고린도 교회 성도들에게 이에 관하여 증거했다: “나는 너희가 좀 어리석은 나를 용납해 주기를 바라노라. 이는 내가 경건한 질투로 너희에게 질투를 느낌이라. 내가 너희를 한 남편에게 정혼시켰나니 이는 한 순결한 처녀로 너희를 그리스도께 바치려는 것이라.”(고후 11:1,2)

“ 이런 까닭에 남자가 자기 아버지와 어머니를 떠나 자기 아내와 결합하여 그 둘이서 한 몸이 될지니라. 이것은 위대한 신비라. 그러나 나는 그리스도와 그 교회에 관하여 말하노라.”(엡 5:31,32) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 45:1-17

Main scripture: Genesis 24:1-9

Subject: God is looking for the bride of his only begotten Son

     In the main passage, we foresee, God will look for the bride of the Lord Jesus Christ that is to come as the seed of Isaac. Eliezel is the faithful servant of Abraham. When Abraham was without children, he told God to have Eliezel his heir. But God told him, he that shall come out of him own bowels shall be his heir (Gen. 15:4)

     God gave him Isaac that is his own begotten son as he promised. And Isaac obeyed his father unto death as he submitted as a burnt offering; but God had prepared a ram as a burnt offering instead of Isaac. The Holy Ghost testified through Apostle Paul:

     “Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.”(Heb. 11:9)

     Isaac is the model of Jesus Christ that obeyed the Father God unto death on the cross, and rose again. Apostle Paul testified of Jesus Christ that obeyed the Father God as Isaac:

“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”(Phil. 2:6-11)

     The Holy Ghost testified that the seed of Abraham is not Isaac but Christ proving Isaac as the model of Christ to come: ^“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”(Gal. 3:16)

      Abraham called his faithful servant to command him to find out the wife of Isaac to bring forth her:

“I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh: And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell: But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.”(Gen. 24:2-4)

     In this scene, we see the figure of the Holy Ghost being sent in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus spoke of the Holy Ghost to be sent in his name by the Father:

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning”(John 15:26,27)

     In other word, the Holy Ghost that is the Comforter shall comfort the world through preaching the truth so that men repent from the world to receive Jesus Christ that is the truth, and receive his Spirit to be the children of God as well as the bride of Jesus Christ.

     Eliezel found out the house of Rebekah by the help of the angels, and testified of Isaac:

“And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.”(Gen. 24:36)

The mother and the brothers of Rebekah told Eliezel to take her after she stay with her family for ten days, but she decided herself to leave her house to follow Eliezel, and went forth a journey to be married to Isaac.

     On the other hand, Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide; and he lifted up his eyes, and saw the camels were coming with Eliezel and Rebekah; Rebekah also lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she covered herself. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah’s tent, and took Rebekah.

     We can see the scene of translation (Rapture) to come; the brides of Christ shall be caught up into the air upon hearing the voice of Christ saying, “Come up hither!” to be married to Christ (1Thes. 4;16-18, 1Cor. 15:51-53).

     Rebekah decided herself to be the wife of Isaac upon hearing of Isaac; and stood up to follow Eliezel not even a day staying with her family anymore. In the same way, upon hearing of the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Ghost as Eliezel, the brides of Jesus Christ also decide themselves to leave all things in the world without any hesitation to follow Christ; and they repent their sins, and receive him as the Lord and Saviour to be Christian.

     The Lord Jesus Christ rose again, and testified that all things in heaven and earth are his own as Isaac was the heir of Abraham:

“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth……I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”(Matt. 28:19,20)

     Even now, the Holy Ghost is looking for them that are willing to be the bride of Christ. Even before the Holy Ghost came to the earth, Jesus testified of the blessing for them that depart all things to follow him that is the blessing for his brides: “And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.”(Mark 10:29-31)

     The Holy Ghost as Eliezel came upon 120 brothers and sisters waiting to be the brides of Christ at the upper room of Mark, and began to dwell within them. In addition to it, Jesus spoke his disciples before he was lifted up to heaven of the Holy Ghost to come:

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”(Acts 1:8)

     In other word, whosoever accepts Jesus Christ as the Lord, and receives the Holy Ghost becomes the bride of Christ as Rebekah left her families; and they shall be evangelists looking for the brides of Christ as Eliezel, faithful servant of Father God put his hand under the thigh of God.

     Apostle Paul testified of the bride of Christ:

“Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. “(2Cor. 11:1,2)

“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: But I speak concerning Christ and the church.”(Eph. 5:31,32)

Amen! Hallelujah!
