금주의 묵상: 시편 53:1-6

본문: 에스겔 37:1-14

제목: 이스라엘 회복에 대한 예언과 우리의 복음사역

     선지자 에스겔은 이스라엘이 바벨론에 포로잡혀간지 30년째 되는 해부터 하나님의 말씀을 전하던 선지자였다.  본문에서 에스겔은 하나님의 손이 그에게 임하여 주의 영으로 그를 데리고 가서 뼈로 가득찬 골짜기 가운데 세움을 받았다. 그 열린 골짜기에는 심히 많은 뼈가 있었다. 하나님께서 그에게 말씀하셨다. “인자야, 이 뼈들이 살 수 있겠는냐?” 선지자 에스겔은 환상 속에서 하나님께 대답했다. “오 주 하나님이여, 주께서 아시나이다.”

     그렇다! 우리는 하나님께서 주시는 질문에 한 마디도 대답할 수 없는 무지하고 연약한 존재들인 것이다. 부활하신 예수께서 베드로에게 “요나의 아들 시몬아, 네가 이 사람들보다 나를 더 사랑하느냐?”라고 물으셨을 때, 베드로는 “주여, 그러하옵니다. 주께서는 내가 주를 사랑하는 줄 아시나이다.”(요 21;15)라고 대답함으로써 주님만이 모든 것을 아시는 분이라고 고백했던 것이다.

     주 하나님께서 계속해서 에스겔 선지자에게 말씀하셨고 말씀하신대로 그가 말씀을 예언했을 때 그분의 말씀대로 역사가 일어났다. 주께서 에스겔에게 “이 뼈들에게 예언하여 그들에게 말하라. 오 너희 마른 뼈들아 주의 말을 들으라. 주 하나님이 이 뼈들에게 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 너희에게 숨이 들어가게 하리니 너희가 살리라. 또 내가 너희 위에 힘줄을 놓고 너희 위에 살을 자라게 하고 피부로 너희를 덮고 너희에게 숨을 넣으리니 너희가 살리라.”고 말씀하셨다. 그가 주님께서 명령하신대로 예언하였을 때 즉시 소리가 나고, 진동이 있고 뼈들이 모여들어 뼈가 자기 뼈들을 찾아 붙었다. 또한 예언한대로 힘줄과 살이 그 뼈들 위에 오르고 피부가 그 위를 덮었다고 그는 증거하고 있다.

     그러나 그들에게 아직 숨이 없었다. 주 하나님께서 다시 에스겔에게 말씀하셨다. “바람에게 예언하라. 인자야, 예언하여 바람에게 말하라. 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 오 숨아, 네 바람으로부터 와서 이 살해된 자들 위에 숨을 넣어 주어 그들로 살아나게 하라.” 에스겔 선지자가 또 다시 주께서 말씀하신대로 예언하였을 때 숨이 그들 속으로 들어갔고 그들이 살아나 발로 서니 심히 큰 군대가 되었다.

    여기서 우리는 주 하나님께서 사람을 창조하실 때에 하신 일을 통하여 숨이 무엇인지 알 수 있을 것이다. “주 하나님께서 땅의 흙으로 사람을 지으시고 그의 콧구멍에다 생명의 호흡을 불어넣으시니, 사람이 살아있는 혼이 되었더라.”(창 2:7) 그렇다! 하나님께서는 뼈나 흙이나 무엇이든지 그분께서 가지신 생명의 호흡을 불어넣으시면 무엇이나 살게 되는 것이다. 첫 사람 아담은 살아있는 혼이었지만 마지막 아담이신 예수 그리스도는 살려주는 영이신 것이다. 이 예언을 통하여 우리는 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 앞으로 살아날 많은 사람들을 미리 볼 수 있는 것이다.

     주 하나님께 에스겔에게 이 마른 뼈들에 대하여 말씀하신다. “인자야, 이 뼈들은 이스라엘의 온 집안이라. 보라, 그들이 말하기를  우리의 뼈들은 말랐고 우리의 소망은 사라졌으며 우리의 부분은 완전히 끊어졌도다. 하느니라.”고 말씀하셨다. 하나님께서는 환상 속에 있는 골짜기에 있는 많은 뼈들에게 말씀을 예언하였을 때 말씀하신 그대로 즉시 이루어진 것을 보여주신 후에, 이제는 이스라엘 백성을 향하여 예언하라고 말씀하신다. “주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 오, 내 백성아, 내가 너희를 무덤으로부터 열어서 너희로 너희의 무덤들로부터 나오게 하여 너희를 나오게 할 때 너희는 내가 주인 줄 알 것이며 내 영을 너희 안에 두리니 그리하면 너희가 살리라. 또 내가 너희를 너희의 본토에 두리니 그때에 너희는 나 주가 그것을 말하였고 수행한 줄 알리라. 주가 말하노라.”

     그렇다! 수천년 전에 에스겔 선지자에게 말씀하신대로 온 세계에 흩어져서 마른 뼈들처럼 소망이 없었던 이스라엘이 1948년에 마침내 본토로 돌아와서 다시 이스라엘 나라를 이루게 하심으로써 에스겔에게 말씀하신 첫 번째 예언이 이미 성취되었다. 이 예언이 성취에 대하여 예수께서는 무화과나무가 유연해지고  싹이 나고 잎이 날  것이라고 말씀하셨던 것이다 (마 24:32). 오늘날 하나님의 숨인 성령께서 그들 속으로 들어가시고 있다. 본토에만 15,000여명의 유대인 그리스도인들(Messianic Jew)이 있는 것이다. 그들은 무화과 나무의 잎사귀들이며 계속해서 더 많은 잎사귀들이 나오게 될 것이다. 이제 그들의 메시야이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 그들의 땅에 다시 오실 때에 이스라엘 모든 민족들 안에 숨이 들어가게 될 것이라고 선지자 스카랴는 예언했다: “또 내가 다윗의 집과 예루살렘 거민들 위에 은혜와 간구의 영을 부어 주리라. 그러면 그들이 찔렀던 나를 쳐다볼 것이며, 그들이 그를 위하여 애통하리니, 마치 어떤 사람이 자기 외아들을 위하여 애통함 같을 것이요, 그들이 그를 위하여 비통에 잡기리니 마치 어떤 사람이 자기 첫 아들을 위하여 비통에 잠기듯 하리라.”(슥 12:10)

     주님께서는 오늘날 우리들에게도 선지자 에스겔에게 말씀하신 것처럼 그분의 말씀을 예언하라고 말씀하시고 있다. 옛날 이스라엘이 바벨론에서 포로생활을 하면서 소망없는 뼈들처럼 된 것처럼 오늘날에도 큰 바벨론에 사로잡혀 소망없이 된 수많은 죄인들을 향하여 주님의 말씀을 대언하라고 명령하고 계신다. 옛날 선지자 이사야에게 외치라고 말씀하셨다. “모든 육체는 풀이요, 모든 아름다움은 들의 꽃과 같으니라. 풀은 마르고 시드나 우리 하나님의 말씀은 영원히 서리라.”(사 40:6-8) 말씀이 육신이 되어 이스라엘 땅에 오시는 예수 그리스도의 오시는 길을 예비하기 위하여 광야에서 외치게 하신 말씀이었다.

     그러나, 이제 주 예수 그리스도께서 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 오시는 길을 예비하는 모든 그리스도인들에게 성령께서는 사도 베드로를 통하여 동일한 말씀을 예언하게 하셨다: “너희가 거듭난 것은 썩어질 씨로 된 것이 아니라 썩지 않고 영원히 거하는 하나님의 말씀으로 되었느니라. 이는 모든 육체는 풀과 같고 사람의 모든 영광은 풀의 꽃과 같으며, 풀은 마르고 꽃은 져도 주의 말씀은 영원토록 남아잇음이라. 이것이 너희에게 복음으로 전해진 말씀이니라.”(벧전 1:23-25)

     그렇다! 주님께서는 거듭난 그리스도인들에게 명령하시며 말씀을 대언하라고 말씀하신다.  “인자야, 마른 뼈들같은 모든 죄인들에게 말하라! 하나님의 독생자 주 예수 그리스도께서 너희들의 죄들을 위하여 십자가에서 죽으시고 장사되셨다가 셋째 날에 살아났느니라. 이 복음의 말씀을 듣고 회개하여 믿음으로 그분을 영접하면 하나님의 성령이 들어가 영원한 생명을 받게 될 것이다. 하나님이 세상을 이처럼 사랑하셔서 그의 독생자를 주셨으니 누구든지 그를 믿으면 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻으리라……”

     수천 년 동안 마른 뼈들처럼 소망없이 죽어있던 이스라엘을 그분의 말씀을 통하여 무덤에서 나오게 하셨고 이제 주 예수 그리스도께서 오실 때 온 이스라엘이 하나님의 영을 받고 구원을 얻게 될 것이다(롬 11:26).

마찬기지로 모든 민족들이 옛날 이스라엘처럼 풀같은 육신과 풀의 꽃처럼 떨어질 썩어질 영광을 바라보는 가운데 죽어있는 것을 성령께서 보여주시고 있지 않은가? 우리가  그리스도의 은혜의 복음을  전할 때 그들 역시 복음을 듣고 옛날 마른 뼈들처럼 일어나서 하나님의 성령을 받아 살아나게 될 것이다. 지금도 성령께서는 우리들에게 묻고 계신다. “인자야, 이 뼈들이 살 수 있겠느냐?” 우리는 에스겔처럼 “주 하나님이여 주께서 아시나이다.”라고 대답하면서 주님께서 우리들에게 말씀하신 그리스도의 복음을 대언할 때에 죽은 자가 살아나는 역사를 보게 될 것이다. 그렇다! 하나님의 말씀은 어제나 오늘이나 영원토록 동일한 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 53:1-6

Main scripture: Ezekiel 37:1-14

Subject: Prophesy of restoration of Israel, and our ministry of the gospel

     Prophet Ezekiel began to testify of the word of God from the 30^th year since Israel became captivity in Babylon. The hand of the LORD was upon him, and carried him out in the spirit of the LORD, and set him down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones. The LORD God spoke to him: “Son of man, can these bones live?” He answered the LORD in the vision: “O Lord GOD, thou knowest.”

     Yea! We’re so ignorant and weak that we may not be able to answer any word of God. After Jesus rose again, he asked Peter: “Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these?” Peter answered the Lord: “Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee.”(John 21:15) Actually he confessed, only the Lord knows all things.

     The LORD God went on speaking to Ezekiel; and he prophesized as the LORD spoke to him; and all things happened as his word. The LORD spoke to Ezekiel:  “Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. “

When he prophesized as the LORD commanded, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. And the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above.

     But there was no breath in them. The LORD God spoke to Ezekiel: “Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.”

When he prophesized as the LORD spoke to him, the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, and exceeding great army.

     We can understand what the breath is in the word of God when God created the man: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”(Gen. 2:7)

Yea! God can give the breath of life to whatever they are whether they are bones, dust and so on. The first man, Adam was a living soul, but the Lord Jesus Christ that is the last Adam is the quickening spirit. Through this prophesies, we could foresee many souls that shall have eternal life through the Lord Jesus Christ.

     The LORD God spoke to Ezekiel of the dry bones: “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off our parts.”

After the LORD God showed what happened the bones as he prophesized, he asked Ezekiel to prophesize unto Israel: “Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.”

     Yea! As the LORD God prophesized to Ezekiel, Israel that had been scattered to all the earth to be as dry bones returned the home land to establish the nation in 1948. Finally the first prophesy was realized as we know. About this achievement of prophesy, Jesus testified: “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh.”(Matt. 24:32)

Nowadays, the Holy Ghost that is the breath of God is coming into them; there are Messianic Jews more than 15,000. They are the leaves of the fig tree; there shall be more leaves to come out. When the Lord Jesus Christ that is their Messiah comes back to the earth, the breath of God shall come into all of Israel. Prophet Zechariah testified:

“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.”(Zech 12:10)

     The Lord is asking us to prophesize the word of God as he spoke to Ezekiel. As old Israel became dry bones without hope in the midst of captivity in Babylon, Lord Jesus is asking us to prophesize toward the people that are in captivity without hope in the Great Babylon. The LORD God asked prophet Isaiah to cry: “All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”(Isa. 40:6-8)

It was the voice in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord Jesus Christ.

     Apostle Peter prophesized in the Spirit toward all the Christians that are preparing the way of the Lord Jesus Christ that is King of Kings and Lord of Lords: “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”(1Pet. 1:23-25)

     Yea! Our Lord Jesus commands all the born again Christians to prophesize the word of God saying, “Son of man, prophesize unto all sinners as dry bones! The only begotten Son of God died for all your sins, and buried, and rose again the third day. Upon hearing the message of the gospel, repent and receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith; then you shall receive the eternal life through the Holy Spirit. God so love the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life…”

     Israel had been dead as dry bones without hope for thousands years; but the LORD God opened their graves, and caused them to come out of their graves. The whole nation of Israel shall be saved, when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back (Rom. 11:26)

The Holy Ghost is showing us that all the nations are dead spiritually as they are flesh as grass, and their glory is corruptible as the flower falling down. When we preach the gospel of grace, they shall stand up as the bones in the valley did to receive the Holy Ghost.

Even now, the Holy Ghost is asking us, “Son of man, can these bones live?” We shall answer him as Ezekiel did, “Oh LORD God, thou knowest.”

When we preach the gospel of Christ as the Lord Jesus commanded us, we shall see the resurrection of the dead. Yea! The word of God is same as yesterday, today and forever! Amen! Hallelujah!
