금주의 묵상: 시편 1:1-2:12

본문: 에스겔 47:1-12

제목: 천년왕국의 생수와 성도 안에 있는 성령

     오늘 본문을 통하여 주 예수 그리스도께서 천년왕국에 세워진 성전에 계실 때 성전으로부터 생수가 흘러나와 죽은 바다와 고기들과 나무들을 소성케 하시는 광경을 미리 본다. 아담이 범죄하였을 때 하나님께서 아담에게 “네가 네 아내의 음성에 경청한 까닭에, 내거 너에게 명하여 말하기를 ‘너는 그것을 먹지 말라.’고 한 그 나무의 열매를 먹었으니, 너로 인하여 땅은 저주를 받고 너는 너의 전 생애 동안 고통 중에서 그 소산을 먹으리라.”(창 3:17)고 말씀하신 이후에 처음으로 이 땅에 생수가 흘러나와 땅을 다시 거듭나게 하시는 것이다. 유대인들이 회개하여 주 예수 그리스도를 그들의 메시야로 영접하여 온 이스라엘이 거듭나게 되어 거듭나는 땅에서 그리스도와 함께 축복을 누리는 왕국을 보는 것이다.

       성전으로부터 흘러나오는 생수는 남쪽으로 흘러가서 마침내 강물처럼 되어 사막을 거쳐 사해 바다로 들어갈 때 그 물들이 치유될 것이다. 또한 강물이 흘러가는 곳마다 살아 있고 움직이는 모든 것이 살게 될 것이며 또한 매우 큰 고기떼가 있게 될 것이다. 선지자 스카랴도 동일한 예언을 하였다: “그 날에는 생수가 예루살렘으로부터 솟아나서 그 절반은 앞 바다로 그 절반은 뒤 바다로 흐르리니 여름과 겨울에도 그러하리라.”(슥 14:8) 앞 바다는 사해를 말하며 뒤 바다는 지중해를 말하는 것이다.

     죽어 있던 사해 바다 좌우 편에는 달마다 새로운 과실을 맺는 나무가 자랄 것이며, 그 과실은 양식이 되고 그 잎사귀는 약이 될 것이다.

그리스도인들이 살 영원한 세계에 있게 될 새 예루살렘에도 생수가 흐르며 열두 가지 열매를 맺는 나무들이 있게 될 것이라고 사도 요한이 증거했다:

“또 그가 나에게 하나님과 어린 양의 보좌에서 흘러나오는 수정처럼 맑은 생명수의 정결한 강을 보여 주더라. 그 도성의 거리 한 가운데와 그 강의 양편에는 생명나무가 있어 열두 가지 과실을 맺으며 달마다 과실을 내더라. 그리고 그 나무의 잎사귀들은 민족들을 치유하기 위한 것이더라.”(계 22:1,2)

     “그러나 진훍 구덩이와 늪은 치유되지 못하고 소금이 주어지게 될 것이라.” 말씀하심으로써 아직도 땅은 천년왕국 후에 마지막 심판이 끝나고 영원 세계에서 창조될 새 땅이 되지는 못함을 알 수 있다.

     천년왕국 시대의 성읍은 일만팔천(겔 48:35)으로 그 규모가 지금 치수로 치면 9평방 마일에 불과한데, 요한 계시록 21장의 새 예루살렘은 무려 1,200-1,500 평방 마일이나 된다. 또한 새 예루살렘 도성 안에는 성전이 없으니 이는 전능하신 주 하나님과 어린 양이 그곳의 성전이기 때문이다 (계 21:22). 그러므로 천년왕국의 성읍은 이 땅에 이루어지는 것이며 새 예루살렘은 하늘로부터 내려오는 것이다(계 21:2).

      주 예수 그리스도께서 땅에 오셔서 통치하실 때 마침내 생수가 성전으로부터 흘러나와 만물을 소성케 하실 것이다. 이 생수는 성전의 제단 남쪽에서 흘러내려갔는 바 하나님의 제단에서 자신의 몸을 영원한 속죄제물로 드리신 주 예수 그리스도로부터 흘러나와서 영원한 생명을 주시는 성령을 예표하는 것이다. 예수 그리스도께서 육신을 입으시고 세상에 계실 때, 자신의 몸을 성전이라 말씀하셨으며 그분께서 말씀만 하시면 병든 몸도 치유되고 죽은 자도 살아났던 것이다.

     그러나 주 예수 그리스도께서 다시 오실 때까지 유일하게 이 땅에 있는 생수는 거듭난 그리스도인들 안에 있는 성령인 것이다. 그리스도인들은 더 이상 살아 있는 혼이 아니라 살려주는 영을 가진 사람들인 것이다. 그러나 성령으로 충만해야만 그 생수가 흘러나와 죽은 자들을 살릴 수 있는 것이다. 그러나 어떤 성도들은 발목까지밖에 차지 않고, 어떤 성도들은 무릎까지 차는가 하면, 또 어떤 성도들은 허리까지 찬다. 하지만 정말로 신실한 그리스도인이라면 몸이 푹 잠길 정도로 성령이 충만한 것이다.

     성령충만한 정도가 발목까지밖에 차지 않는 성도는 아무 걱정 없이 제 발로 개울을 첨벙첨벙 걸어가려고 한다. 물이 무릎에까지 차도 너끈히 제 발로 건너갈 수 있다고 생각되므로 그 정도의 물을 건너가면서도 기도 따위는 하려고 하지 않는다. 물이 이번에는 허리에까지 차면, 그제서야 좀 겁을 먹고 기도하기 시작한다. 그러나 발이 땅에 닿지 않을 정도로 깊어져 헤엄을 쳐서 건너지 않을 수 없게 되면, 그는 필경 물에 들어가기도 전에 기도부터 하면서 성령님의 인도하심을 간구하게 된다. 이처럼 성령충만하면 할수록 그 사람은 그만큼 더 하나님께 신뢰하게 되고 자신의 능력을 신뢰하지 않게 되는 법이다.

     본문을 통하여 성도들이 성령충만하게 되는 과정을 보여주고 있다. 생수는 성전 문지방 아래에서 흘러나온다. 이것은 하나님의 제단 아래서 겸손하게 무릎을 꿇고 기도하고 찬양하며 말씀을 받으면서 기다릴 때에 성령충만이 발목으로부터 무릎, 그리고 허리와 온 몸을 채우게 디는 것이다. 이때부터는 온전히 주님을 신뢰하는 삶을 살게 되는 것이다. 아렇게 성령충만한 삶을 사는 그리스도인에 대한 축복에 대하여 성경은 말씀하신다:

“복있는 사람은 …강가에 심겨진 나무와 같아서 계절을 따라 열매를 맺으며, 그의 잎사귀도 마르지 아니하리니, 그가 무엇을 하든지 번성하리로다.”(시 1:1-3)

“주를 신뢰하고 그의 소망을 주께 두는 사람은 복이 있도다. 그는 물가에 심겨진 나무가 강가에 그 뿌리를 뻗침과 같아서 더위가 와도 걱정하지 않고 그 잎이 푸르러 가뭄의 해에도 염려하지 않고 열매맺는 것도 그치지 않을 것임이라.”(렘 17:7,8)

      이에 반하여 하나님을 신뢰하지 않고 인간을 신뢰하는 사람에 대하여는 성경 또한 이렇게 말씀하신다: “주가 이같이 말하노라. 사람을 신뢰하는 사람과 자기 육신을 그의 무기로 삼는 사람과 그의 마음이 주로부터 떠난 사람은 저주를 받으리라.. 그는 사막에 히스나무같이 되어 좋은 일이 오는 때를 보지 못하고 광야와 소금땅과 사람이 살지 않는 바싹 마른 곳들에 거하리라.”(렘 17:5,6)

     그렇다! 하나님을 신뢰하는 사람은 강가에 심겨진 나무처럼 “걱정하지 않고… 염려하지 않고” 살게 되고 “열매맺는 것도 그치지 아니할 것”이라고 말씀한다. 그러나 이 세상에는 자신에게 돌아온 복을 놓치고 사는 그리스도인들이 무수히 많다는 것이 아닌가? 이 세상에 “걱정하지 않고… 염려하지 않고 열매맺는 것도 그치지” 않는 그리스도인들보다도 그렇지 못한 그리스도인들이 훨씬 더 많은게 사실 아닌가? 이 얼마나 애석하고 억울한 일인가? 기왕 구원받고 거듭나 그리스도인이 되었다면 성경에서 말씀하고 있는 것처럼 “강가에 심겨진 나무”같이 복을 누리며 살아가야 하지 않겠는가? 만일 그렇지 못하다면 그것은 하나님을 신뢰하며 살지 않고 있다는 반증인 것이다.

     성소에서 나온 물이 사해로 흘러 들어갈 때 그 바다가 치유되어 생명력을 갖게 된다는 것은 천년왕국 시대에 실제적으로 일어나게 될 미래의 역사적 사실이지만, 이 말씀은 또 죽었던 영이 성령으로 거듭나는 것에 대한 영적 적용도 가능하다. 그리고 거듭난 사람 안으로 들어오신 성령께서 계속 역사하실 때 그는 지속적으로 하나님께서 주시는 복을 누리게 되는 것이다. 그러므로 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 모여 찬양과 경배를 드리며 예배드릴 때, 또한 하나님의 말씀을 공부할 때 그리고 기도할 때에 그리스도의 제단으로부터 나오는 생수를 받아먹고 생명을 얻게 되고 또한 영적으로 성장하게 되는 것이다. 그러므로 사도 바울은 에베소 교회 성도들에게 “술취하지 말라. 그것은 방탕한 것이니 오직 성령으로 충만하라.”(엡 5:18)고 성령 안에서 명령했다.

Meditation of the week: Psalms 1:1-2:12

Main scripture: Ezekiel 47:1-12

Subject: Living water in the Millennium, and the Spirit in the born again Christian

     Now we foresee the living waters from the temple in the Millennium, when the Lord Jesus Christ is sitting at the throne, to revive the Dead Sea, and the fishes and trees. When Adam sinned against God, God told him saying, “Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;”(Gen. 3:17)

Since then, God shall regenerate the earth with the living waters. Now we also foresee the kingdom of heaven in the regenerated land when Jews repent their sins, and receive the Lord Jesus Christ their Messiah to be born again.

     The living water shall flow down at the south side of the altar to be a river passing through the desert to flowing into the Dead Sea; then the waters shall be healed. Everything shall live wherever the river flows in. And there shall be a great multitude of fish. Prophet Zechariah also testified of this: “And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.”(Zech. 14:8) The former sea is the Dead Sea; and the hinder sea is the Mediterranean Sea.

     And by the river upon the bank thereof, on the both sides, shall grow all trees for meat: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months; and the leaf thereof shall be medicine.  In the New Jerusalem where Christians shall live forever, living waters shall be flowing, and the trees bringing for the twelve fruits. Apostle John testified of this:

“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. “(Rev. 22:1,2)

    But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed; they shall be given to salt This means that the earth shall not be perfectly regenerated until the newly created earth comes to pass until the final judgment comes to pass after the Millennium of Jesus Christ.

     The size of the city in Millennium shall be round about eighteen thousand  measures  (Ez. 48:35) that is same as nine square miles; on the other hand, the size of the New Jerusalem shall be 1,200-1,500 square miles. There shall be no temple; for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb is temple of it (Rev. 21:22). Therefore, the city of Millennium is to be on the earth; and the New Jerusalem shall come down from heaven (Rev. 21:2).

     Now we foresee the living waters that shall regenerate all things in the earth when he reigns on the earth.  The living waters is to come at the south side of the altar; this is the symbol of the Holy Spirit that flows from the altar of God where the Lord Jesus Christ presented himself a eternal sacrifice for our redemption of sin. Jesus said his body is the temple of the Holt Ghost when he was in the world. Therefore, whenever he spoke to the people, people were healed, and even dead men rose again from the dead.

     But until the Lord Jesus Christ come again, only the living waters is the Spirit within the born again Christians. Christians are no more the living souls, but they have quickening Spirit within them. But only when they are full of the Spirit, they could revive the dead letting the living waters flow out of them. But unfortunately, the waters are to the ankles for some saints; to the knee for some others; to the loins for some. But only the faithful Christians shall be full of the Holy Spirit as the waters were to swim in.

     The saints that are filled with the Holy Spirit to the ankles are willing to walk in the waters without any concern as they want to go. Even the waters are to the knees, they shall not pray thinking themselves not a problem to cross the waters. When the waters are to the loins, they begin to pray with fear. But when the waters are above their heads, they shall pray even before they enter into the waters to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance.  More they are full of the Holy Spirit; they tend to trust God not trusting in them.

     In the main passage, the Holy Ghost is showing the procedures to be filled with the Spirit. The living waters are flowing from under the threshold of the temple. When we kneel down with humidity praying and praising and receiving the words of God waiting upon the Lord, the Holy Spirit shall be filled to the ankles, to the knees, to the loins, and to the whole body. Then we are able to trust in the Lord. The scriptures are testifying of the saints full of the Holy Spirit:

 “Blessed is the man….   ³And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”(Ps. 1:1-3)

“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”(Jer. 17:7,8)

     On the other hand, the scriptures also testify of them that not trust God but trusting in man:

“Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.”(Jer. 17:5,6)

     Yea! They that trust in God, as the trees planted by the river, shall not worry or concern; and never stop to bring forth the fruits. What a many Christians that loses the blessing given unto them? Too many Christians are worrying and concern not trusting in the Lord. What a pitiful thing it is! Since they are saved through regeneration of the spirit, they are to have blessed life as the trees planted by the river. If not so, it is because they are not trusting in the Lord.

     There shall be the living waters flowing into the Dead Sea, and the waters shall be healed in the Millennium of the Lord Jesus Christ. And spiritually it is applied to the regeneration of the spirit of the dead. And when the Holy Spirit works within the born again Christian continuously, he shall be in the blessing from God continuously.  Therefore, when we gather together in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to praise and worship the Lord, and to study the words of God, and pray, we drink the living waters coming out of the altar to be filled with life, and to grow spiritually. Therefore Apostle Paul commanded to the saint of Ephesians in the Spirit:  ^“And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;”(Eph. 5:18) Amen! Hallelujah!
