금주의 묵상: 시편 45:1-17

본문: 로마서 12:1-21

제목: 의의 세마포를 준비하고 있는가?

     사도 요한은 주 예수 그리스도께서 이 땅에 오실 때 그분을 따르는 무리들에 대하여  “하늘에 있는 군대들은 희고 정결한 세마포를 입고 흰 말들을 타고 그를 따르더라.”(계 19:14)고 증거했으며 세마포에 대하여 그는 “이제 그녀에게 허락하사 정결하고 흰 세마포를 입게 하셨으니 세마포는 성도들의 의라.”(계 19:8)고 증거했다. 다시 말해서 세마포는 성도들의 의로운 행실인 것이다.

     성령께서는 사도 바울을 통하여 성도들의 의로운 행실이 어떤 것인지 자세하고 쉽게 말씀하신다. 또한 의로운 행실에 대하여 네 가지로 나누어서 말씀하고 있다. 본문을 통하여 그리스도인의 삶과 섬김을 첫째로 헌신, 둘째로 섬김, 셋째로 그리스도 안에서의 인간 관계, 넷째로 그리스도 밖에서 인간 관계에 대하여 말씀하고 있는 것이다.

      사도 바울은 성도들의 올바른 삶에 대하여 증거하기 위해, “그러므로”라는 말로 시작하고 있다. 다시 말해서 “그렇기 때문에”라는 말과 같은 것이다. 첫째로, 성도들이 마땅히 하나님께 전적으로 헌신해야 하는 이유에 대하여   “만물이 그분께로부터 나와 그분을 통하여 그분께로 돌아감이라. 영광이 그분께 영원히 있으리로다. 아멘”(롬 11:36)이라고 증거하고 있다. 범죄한 아담에게 하나님께서는 “…너는 흙이니 너는 흙으로 돌아갈 것이니라.”(창 3;19)고 이미 말씀하셨다. 사도 바울은 고린도 교회에게 편지할 때에 “너희는 값을 치르고 산 것이니 그러므로 하나님의 것인 너희 몸과 영으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리라.”(고전 6:20)고 말씀했다.

        그러므로 주 예수 그리스도의 피를 통하여 죄 용서받은 모든 사람은 자신의 것은 이제 아무 것도 없는 것이다. 이 사실을 깨닫는 자는 복이 있는 것이다. 그러므로 우리의 몸을 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제물로 마땅히 드려야하지 않겠는가? 사도 바울은 성령 안에서 몸을 산 제물로 드리는 것이 합당한 예배라고 증거하고 있는 것이다. 다시 말해서 하나님께 몸을 온전히 드리지 못하면서 드리는 예배는 종교 의식으로 끝날 수밖에 없기에 하나님께서 받으실 수 없는 예배가 될 수밖에 없는 것이다.

      둘째로, 모든 그리스도인들은 교회 안에서 섬기는 일을 해야 하는 것이다. 이것이 또 다른 옳은 행실이며 세마포를 입는 일인 것이다.  또한 섬길 때에 각자의 믿음의 분량 안에서 건전하게 생각하여 무리하지 않는 섬김이 옳은 행실이라고 증거하고 있다. 교회 안에 있는 각각의 지체는 믿음의 분량도 다르고 성령께서 주신 은사도 다르기 때문에 무리해서도 않되며 다른 지체를 무시해도 않되는 것이다. 그 이유는 모두가 그리스도 안에서 한 몸이 되어 각 사람이 그리스도 안에서 서로의 지체가 되었기 때문인 것이다(4-6절).

     또한 섬기는 일에 대하여 예언, 섬김, 가르치는 일, 권면하는 일, 구제하는 일, 지도하는 일, 자비를 베푸는 일에 대하여 말씀하고 있으며 이러한 섬김에 있어서도 옳게 행하여야 함을 말씀하고 있다. 믿음의 분량대로 예언하고, 성실함으로 구제하고 즐거움으로 자비를 베푸는 일을 해야 하는 것이다.

      사도 바울은 고린도 교회에게 편지할 때에도 성도들을 섬기라고 주님께서 주신 직분과 성령께서 주신 은사에 대하여 말씀하고 있다: “다양한 은사들이 있으나 성령은 동일하며, 다양한 봉사들이 있으나 주는 동일하며, 다양한 역사들이 있으니 모든 것 안에서 역사하시는 하나님은 동일하니라. 그러나 각 사람에게 성령의 나타나심을 주신 것은 유익을 위함이라. 어떤 사람에게는 성령을 통하여 지혜의 말씀을 주시고 또 어떤 사람에게는 지식의 말씀을, 또 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 믿음을, 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 병 고치는 은사들을, 또 어떤 사람에게는 기적들을 행함을, 어떤 사람들에게는 예언함을, 어떤 사람에게는 영들을 분별함을, 또 어떤 사람에게는 여러가지 방언들을 말함을, 어떤 사람에게는 방언들을 통역함을 주시느니라. 그러나 이 모든 일은 한 분이신 같은 성령께서 역사하시어 그분께서 원하시는 대로 각 사람에게 나누어 주시느니라. 몸은 하나인데 많은 지체가 있고 한 몸에 지체는 많아도 모두 한 몸인 것처럼 그리스도께서도 그러하시니라.”(고전 12:4-12)

     뿐만 아니라 하나님께서는 교회 안에 어떤 사람들은 사도로, 어떤 사람들은 선지자로, 어떤 사람들은 복음전도자로, 어떤 사람들은 목사와 교사로 세우시고 성도들을 온전케 하며 섬기는 일을 하게 하고 그리스도의 몸을 세우게 하여 모두가 믿음의 하나 됨과 하나님을 아는 지식의 하나 됨에 도달하게 하고 온전한 사람이 되어 그리스도의 충만하심의 장성한 분량에까지 이르게 하시는 것이다 (엡 4:11-13)

      셋째로, 하나님께서는 그리스도의 몸 된 교회 안에서 성도 간에 옳은 관계를 유지할 것을 말씀하신다. 거짓 없는 사랑, 악을 증오하고 선과 연합해야 하며, 친 형제처럼 서로 다정하고 사랑하고 서로 존경하기를 먼저 해야  하며, 일에는 게으르지 말고 영안에서 열심을 내어 주님을 섬기며, 소망 가운데 즐거워하며, 환난 중에 참으며, 꾸준히 기도에 진력하며 필요한 성도들에게 나누어주며, 대접하기를 힘쓰며, 비록 교회 안에서 박해를 받는 일이 있을지라도 그를 축복하고 저주하지 말 것이며, 즐거워하는 자들과 함께 즐거워하고 우는 지들과 진심으로 함께 울어야 하고, 그리스도 안에서 성령의 매는 줄로 하나가 되어 서로 같은 그리스도의 생각을 가지고 낮은 데 처한 사람들과 함께하면서 스스로 지혜있는 채하지 말라고 권면하고 있다.

       넷째로, 하나님의 자녀들은 교회 밖에서 생활할 때에도 세상 사람들과 옳은 관계를 맺음으로써 빛을 비추는 삶을 살아야 할 것을 말씀하고 있다. 아무에게도 악으로 악을 갚지 말고 모든 사람 앞에서 정직해야 하며, 가능한 한 모든 사람들과 화목하기를 먼저 하며 복수하지 말고 하나님께 맡길 것을 권면하고 있는 것이다.

         그렇다! 하나님의 교회의 각 지체들은 더 이상 혼자가 아니고 공동체로서 머리 되시는 그리스도의 말씀에 온전히 순종함으로써 몸 전체가 의의 세마포로 단장해야 하는 것이다. 우리 몸의 모든 지체가 건강하고 정결해야 몸 전체가 건강하고 거룩해지는 것처럼 교회 안에 있는 연약한 지체들을 하나님의 사랑으로 감싸며 위로하며 용서하고 섬겨야 하는 것이다. 주님께서는 교회 안에 있는 각 개인에게 편지하시지 않으시고 교회의 천사에게 편지하셨다. 다시 말해서 하나님께서는 그리스도의 몸 전체를 보고 계시는 것이다. 특별히 필라델피아 교회의 천사에게 편지하실 때에 “네가 나의 인내의 말을 지켰기 때문에 나도 시험의 때에 너를 지키리니, 이는 온 세상에 임하여 땅 위에 사는 사람들을 시험하는 때라.”(계 3:10)고 말씀하셨다. 온 세상을 시험하는 때는 우리 앞에 놓인 대 환란을 말씀하시는 것이다. 하나님께서는 필라델피아 교회  앞에 열린 문을 두었으며 그것을 아무도 닫을 수 없다고 말씀하심으로써(계 3:8) 그 교회 전체가 환란 이전에 휴거될 것을 말씀하신 것이다.

       그러므로 우리는 각 사람의 위치에서 성령께서 주신 은사와 주님께서 주신 직분을 가지고 성도들을 섬기면서 의의 세마포를 준비해야 하는 것이다. 우리는 더 이상 혼자가 아닌 머리 되신 그리스도의 몸의 지체들인 것이다. 단 한 사람이라도 잘못 행하면 그리스도의 몸 전체가 해를 받게 되는 것이다, 그러므로 우리는 어떤 한 사람도 실족하지 않도록 각자의 위치에서 섬기는 일에 충성해야 하는 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 45:1-17

Main scripture: Romans 12:1-21

Subject: Are you preparing the linen of righteousness?

     Apostle John testified of them that are to follow the Lord Jesus Christ when he comes back to the earth: “And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean” (Rev. 19:14) He also testified of the linen saying, “And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.”(Rev. 19:8) In other word, the linen of righteousness is the righteousness of saints.

       The Holy Ghost is speaking unto us in details and in easy way of the righteousness of saints through Apostle Paul. In the main passage, there are four kinds of categories of Christian’s life and service such as Consecration, service, the Christian and those within, and the Christian and those without.

     Apostle Paul begins to say “therefore” to testify of the righteous way of life of the Christian. In other word, “therefore “means “because of this”.

Firstly, he explained about the reason why saints should submit themselves unto God quoting, “For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen” (Rom. 11:36). The LORD God had already said unto Adam after he sinned:

“…. dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”(Gen. 3:19)

Apostle Paul spoke to the saints of the Corinthians in his epistle: “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”(1Cor. 6:20)

     Therefore, whosoever received the remission of sins through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ doesn’t have any possession at all for him even his body; all belong to the Lord Jesus. Blessed are they that understand this truth. Therefore, it is natural that we have to submit our body as living sacrifice, isn’t it? Apostle Paul testified that this is the reasonable service. In other word, the worship service without presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice shall be ended with a ritual activity that cannot be received by God.

     Secondly, all Christians should serve the members in the church. This is the right thing to do to prepare the linen of righteousness. Whosoever serves the body of Christ should not think of him more highly that he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. Each member in the church has different portion of faith as well as the gift of the Spirit so that no one can ignore any other member, because we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another (v 4-6)

       And of service, there are prophecy, ministering, teaching, exhorting, giving, ruling, showing mercy and so on. And these serving should be in right way; prophecy should be according to the portion of faith; ministry with ministering; giving with simplicity; ruling with diligence; showing mercy with cheerfulness.

        Apostle Paul testified of administration of the Lord as well as the gifts of the Spirit for the saints of Ephesians:

“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. “(1Cor. 12:4-12)

    In the church of God, the Lord Jesus Christ called some as apostles; and some as prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ; till we all come in the unity of this faith, and of the knowledge  of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4:11-13)

        Thirdly, the saints in the church of God are supposed to have good relationship one another: love without dissimulation; abhorring evil; cleaving to that which is good; being kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honoring preferring one another; not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality; bless them that persecute; bless and curse not; rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep; be of the same mind one toward another; mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate; be not wise in our own conceit.

     Fourthly, the children of God should be careful to make good relationship with them in the neighbors without to shine the light to the world, recompensing to no man evil for evil; and provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lies in us, live peacefully with all men; avenge not ourselves, but rather give place unto wrath; for it is written, Vengence is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

       Yea! Each member in the church of God is not alone anymore, but mutually related organism so that each of them should obey the word of Christ which is the head of it to prepare the lien of righteousness for the whole body of Christ. As each member of our body is sound and pure to make the whole body healthy and holy, the weak members should be covered with the love of God, and be comforted; be forgiven; and be ministered. The Lord Jesus wrote not each member in the church, rather to the angel of the church that represents the whole church. In other word, God is looking into the whole body of the church instead of individual member. The Lord Jesus said to the angel of the church in Philadelphia: “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”(Rev. 3:10)

        The hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world means the Great Tribulation to come. God set before that church an open door, and no man can shut it (Rev. 3:8); whole church was going to be translated before the Great Tribulation.

       Therefore, we are to prepare the linen of righteousness ministering the saints using the gifts of the Spirit and job given by the Lord, for we are not existing for our own, but members of Christ that is our head. If any of us is out of track, the whole body of Christ shall be affected. Therefore we have to submit ourselves for ministering one to another so that no one falls away. Amen! Hallelujah!
