금주의 묵상: 시편 130:1-8

본문: 요한복음 12:21-26

제목: 이 세상에서 자기의 생명을 미워하는 자의 축복

        본문에서, 예수께서 자신을 찾아온 헬라인들에게 말씀하셨다. 헬라인들은 지혜를 구하는 자들로서 지혜를 구하기 위하여 예수님을 찾아왔던 것이다: "진실로 진실로 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 한 알의 밀이 땅에 떨어져 죽지 아니하면 한 알 그대로 남아 있지만 죽으면 많은 열매를 맺느니라. 자기 생명을 사랑하는 사람은 그것을 잃을 것이요, 이 세상에서 자기 생명을 미워하는 사람은 그것을 영생에까지 보존하리라." (24,25절)

      첫 번 부분의 말씀은 초등학생이라도 수긍할 수 있는 말씀이다. 밀 알갱이를 땅에다 심지 않고서 많은 알갱이들을 추수할 수 있다고는 아무도 생각하지 않기 때문이다. 그런데, 이 말씀을 하신 후에 예수께서는 전혀 관련 없는 것처럼 보이는 또 다른 말씀을 하신다. 사람의 귀로 듣기에 전혀 모순된 말씀을 하신다. 자연인들은 누구나 자신의 생명을 사랑하는 사람이 오래 건강하게 산다고 믿는다. 그런데 예수께서는 생명을 사랑하는 사람은 그 생명을 잃을 것이라고 말씀하신다. 또한 오히려 생명을 미워하는 사람은 오래 사는 정도가 아니라 영원히 살 것이라고 말씀하신다. 그런데 주님의 말씀 가운데 한 가지 아주 중요한 것은 "이 세상에서의 일"이라고 분명히 말씀하신다.   

       하나님의 지혜가 있는 사람, 즉 하나님의 성령이 있는 사람은 이 말씀을  쉽게 알 수 있지만, 생물학적인 사람, 즉 자연인은 이 말씀을 알 수도 없고 그 말씀의 뜻을 설명한다 해도 믿을 수 없는 것이다. 왜냐하면, 주님께서는 한 알의 밀이 땅에 떨어져 썩어야만 그 속에 있는 씨앗으로부터 싹이 나고 잎이 나고 꽃이 피어 많은 열매를 추수할 수 있다는 자연적인 원리를 통하여 자신이 한 알의 밀알이 되어 조만간 모든 세상 사람들의 죄를 위하여 죽으시고 셋째 날에 다시 살아나실 때에 그분을 믿는 사람마다 성령을 받아 영원한 생명을 받게 될 것을 말씀하고 있기 때문이다. 주님께서는 마치 한 알의 밀알이 땅 속에 심겨져야만 많은 열매를 맺는 것과 비교하신 것이다. 주님을 찾아왔던 헬라인들로서는 도저히 깨달을 수 없는 말씀이었을 것이다. 이때 주님께서는 "나를 따라오라, 내가 있는 곳에는 나의 종도 거기 있으리니, 누구나 나를 섬기면 아버지께서 그를 높이시리라."(26절)고 말씀하셨다.

       한 알의 밀알도 땅에 떨어져 썩으면 싹이 나서 많은 열매를 맺을 수 있는데 사람이 죽은 후에 땅 속에서 썩어진 후에 다시 살아나지 못한다면 이 얼마나 부끄러운 일이 되겠는가? 한 알의 밀알 보다도 못한 존재가 아니겠는가? 왜, 주님께서 이 세상에서 자기의 생명을 사랑하면 잃을 것이며, 미워하면 그 생명을 영생에까지 보존하리라고 말씀하셨는가? 오늘 이 시간에 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로  우리와 함께 하신 성령님께 깨달을 수 있도록 간구하지 않겠는가?

        사도 바울은 이 부활의 진리를 깨닫고 고린도교회 성도들에게 간곡하게 편지했다:"어떤 사람이 말하기를 '죽은 자들이 어떻게 일으켜지며 또 어떤 몸으로 오는가?'라고 하니, 너 어리석은 자야, 네가 뿌린 씨가 죽지 않으면 살아나지 못하리라. 또 네가 뿌리는 것은 앞으로 될 형체를 뿌리는 것이 아니라 밀이나 다른 씨앗의 알맹이 뿐이나 하나님께서는 자기 뜻대로 씨앗에다 형체를 주시되 씨앗마다 그 고유한 형체를 주시느니라. 모든 육체가 다 같은 육체가 아니니 어떤 것은 사람의 육체요, 어떤 것은 짐승의 육체며, 어떤 것은 물고기의 육체요, 또 어떤 것은 새의 육체라. 또한 하늘에 속한 몸들도 있고 땅에 속한 몸들도 있으나 하늘에 속한 것들의 영광이 다르고 땅에 속한 것들의 영광도 다르니라. 하나는 해의 영광이요 또 하나는 달의 영광이며, 또 다른 하나는 별들의 영광이니 이는 영광에 있어서 한 별이 다른 별과 다르기 때문이라. 죽은 자들의 부활도 이와 같으니 썩을 것으로 심겨서 능력 있는 것으로 일으켜지며 수치로 심겨서 영광된 것으로 일으켜지며 육신의 타고난 몸으로 심겨서 영적인 몸으로 일으켜지느니라. 육신의 타고난 몸이 잇고 또 영적인 몸이 있느니라."(고전 15:35-44)

         사도 바울은 사람이 모태로부터 타고난 몸은 썩을 몸이며 수치스런 몸이고 또한  약한 몸이라고 증거하고 있는 것이다. 왜 썩어야만 하고 수치스럽고 약한  몸이라고 말했는가? 모든 사람이 죄인으로 태어나서 많은 죄를 지을 수밖에 없으며 잠깐 동안 살다가 호흡이 끊어지면 죽을 수밖에 없는 연약한 존재임을 말하고 있는 것이다. 사도 바울은 왜 주님께서 이 세상에서 자기의 생명을 사랑하지 말고 미워하라고 말씀하셨는지 자신 안에 있는 성령을 통하여 깨달았으며 그는 깨달은 대로 평생을 자신의 생명을 미워하다가 많은 사람들에게 생명을 주는 복음을 전하다가 하늘에 갔으며 지금도 그는 영생에 이르는 추수를 하고 있는 것이다. 우리들 역시 그가 전한 복음을 듣고 구원받아 생명을 받은 것이 아닌가? 그 역시 예수님처럼 한 알의 밀알이 되어 땅에 떨어져 많은 열매를 맺는 축복을 받았던 것이다.

         사도 바울은 또 한 가지 아주 중요한 진리를 우리에게 전해주고 있다: "'첫 사람 아담은 살아있는 혼이 되었느니라.' 함과 같이 마지막 아담은 살려주는 영이 되었느니라."(고전 15:45)

아담의 자손으로 태어난 모든 사람은 살아있는 혼에 불과하다는 것은 어느누구에도 죄로 인하여 그 안에 영원한  생명이 없다는 것이다. 이런 연유로 주님께서는 이 세상에서 생명을 미워해야 한다는 것이다. 자기의 생명을 미워하게 될 때에 모든 죄를 제거하시고 용서하시는 예수 그리스도께로 돌아와서(회심하여) 그분을 믿어 구세주로 모셔드릴 때 살려주는 영이신 성령을 받게 되어 영원한 생명을 받게 되는 것을 말씀하신 것이다. 이 진리를 깨달은 사도 바울은 로마에 있는 사람들에게 "이는 모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하다가 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 구속을 통하여 그의 은혜로 값없이 의롭게 되었음이라."(롬 3;23, 24)고 증거했던 것이다.

         이렇게 살려주는 영이신 성령을 받은 사람들이 죽어서 몸이 썩게 되면 주님이 공중에 나타나셔서 그의 신부들을 부르시는 휴거의 날에 부활하여 하늘에 속한 형상인 그리스도의 형상을 입게 되는 것이다 (고전 15:51-57). 또한 썩을 몸을 가지고 사는 동안 자기의 생명을 미워하면서 몸을 산 제물로 드려 복음을 전한 사람들은 많은 영생의 열매를 추수하게 되는 것이다. 마치 별과 별의 영광이 다른 것처럼 부활하는 성도들의 영광도 이 세상에서 자신을 미워하고 부인하면서 십자가를 지고 주님을 따라간 만큼 더 영광스러운 부활을 하게 되는 것이다. 그러므로 사도 바울은 성도들에게 간곡하게 권면했다: "그러므로 나의 사랑하는 형제들아, 견고하라, 흔들리지 말라, 항상 주의 일을 넘치게 하라. 이는 너희의 수고가 주 안에서 헛되지 않은 줄을 너희가 앎이니라."(고전 15:58) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 130:1-6

Main scripture: John 12:21-26

Subject: The blessed that hates his life in this world

         Jesus spoke unto certain Greeks that came up at the feast to see him. The Greek might be looking for wisdom from Jesus: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal."(V24,25)

       The first part of his word may be understood even for  little children so easily; for no one believe that no harvest shall be made unless a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die. Afterwards, Jesus spoke totally different words that seems not be related to the first part of his words; it seems to be nonsense to the ears of the natural man. The natural man used to think to live long as well as healthy when they love their life. Now, Jesus says, he that loves his life shall lose it. Rather, he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal beyond long life. One of important words of Jesus is "in this world".

       He that has the wisdom in the Spirit of God may understand his word easily; but the natural man only born biologically couldn't understand his word. Jesus was going to reveal a great truth of his death for the sin of the world and his burial and resurrection the third day to give the life eternal unto them that believe him through the Holy Ghost taking an example of a con of wheat to be fallen into the ground and to die to bring forth much fruit according to the principle of nature. It might be very had to understand for the Greeks that came to Jesus. At that moment, Jesus  spoke to them saying, "If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour."(V26)

       What a shame for man, if he cannot rise again after he dies, even though a corn of wheat bring forth mush fruit after it falls into the ground and die. Then man must be inferior to a corn of wheat! Why Jesus said, he that loves his life shall lose it; and he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal? What about ask the Lord Jesus in the presence of the Holy Spirit to give understanding spiritually!

       Apostle Paul understood the truth of resurrection, and encouraged the saint of Corinthians: "But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body."(1Cor. 15:35-44)

        Apostle Paul recognized the natural body born from mother's womb as the one in dishonor and corruption and infirmity. He considered the natural body as the one born in sin, and sinning continually, and surviving momentarily before its breath discontinues.  Apostle Paul understood why Jesus asked not to love life in this world but to hate through the Holy Ghost within him. He had hated his life in this world as he understood, and spent his life to preach the gospel in his whole life to harvest the souls. He is now in heaven, but he is still harvesting the souls through his preaching in the bible. We also have been harvested through the gospel that he preached. He also 51-57)fell into the ground as Jesus, and brought forth much fruit.

        Apostle Paul teaches another important truth unto us: "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit."(1Cor. 15:45)

Whosoever is born as a living soul  in Adam doesn't have the life eternal because of sin. This is the reason why Jesus said to hate the life in this world. When man understand his identity as a miserable sinner before God, then he hates his life, and finally comes to Jesus that died for his sins, and repent to be conversed, and receive him as the Lord and Savior by faith to receive the life eternal through the Holy Ghost. Apostle Paul wrote to the saints in Rome understanding this truth: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:"(Rom. 3:23, 24)

      When they that receive the Holy Ghost that is quickening spirit die and buried into the ground, they shall put on the image of Christ belong to heaven in the day of Rapture when Christ calls upon the name of his bride (1Cor. 15:51-57). And they that present their corruptible body as living sacrifice to preach the gospel shall harvest much fruit. As the glory of star is different each other, the glory of the saints of resurrection shall be different each other as much as they follow Jesus Christ bearing their cross. This is the reason why Apostle Paul encouraged the saints of Corinthians saying, "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."(1Cor. 15:58) Amen! hallelujah!
