금주의 묵상: 시편 13:1-6

본문: 요한복음 12:1-8;마가복음 14:3-9; 마태복음 26:6-13

제목: 지금 주님께 무엇을 드리고 있는가?

       오늘 본문에 기록된 한 여인이 주님의 장례를 위하여 주님께 드린 일을 통하여 우리들에게 주시는 메세지를 깨닫는다면 그야말로 큰 축복의 시간이 될 것이다. 본문에 나타난 여인은 마태복음과 마가복음에도 기록되고 있으며 이 여인은 죽었다가 다시 살아났던 나사로의 누이인 마리아임을 알 수 있다.

      본문에서 우리는 대표적인 두 종류의 사람들을 볼 수 있다. 자신이 가진 모든 것을 주님께 드린 한 여인과 주님께 드린 일을 쓸데 없는 데 낭비하였다고 책망하는 유다 이스카리옷과 그와 동조하는 제자들을 볼 수 있다. 이 여인의 행위에 반대하는 무리들은 삼백 데나리온이나 되는 향유를 팔아서 가난한 사람들을 구제해야 한다고 주장하고 있다. 그러나 유다는 가난한 사람들을 염려해서가 아니라 그가 도둑인 까닭에 돈주머니를 맡아서 그 안에 두었다가 자신이 훔쳐가기 위한 것이라고 성령께서 말씀하신다.

      마침내 주님께서 누가 옳은지 판단하신다. "그녀를 가만 두어라. 그녀는 나의 장례날을 위하여 이것을 간직해 둔 것이라. 가난한 사람은 항상 너희와 함께 있으나 나는 너희와 항상 함께 있지 아니하느니라."(요 7,8절) 그렇다! 오늘 날도 이처럼 두 종류의 사람들이 교회 안에 공존하고 있다. 첫 번째 사람은 가진 모든 소유를 주님의 교회를 통한 복음 사역과 교회 안에 있는 그리스도인 형제자매들을 위하여 사용한다. 그것은 주 안에 있는 형제 자매들이 그리스도의 몸의 지체이며 그들 안에 그리스도께서 내주하시고 계시기 때문이다. 그런가 하면 또 한 무리들은 선교라는 명목 아래 많은 물질을 복음 사역과 상관없는 일들에 사용한다. 또한 이웃 사랑이라는 명목 아래 자신들의 이름을 나타내면서 하나님께서 주신 물질을 세상에 있는 지역 사회에 투척하는 것을 본다.

       모든 그리스도인들이 소유한 모든 것들은 하나님께서 쓰시기 위하여 잠시 맡겨둔 사실을 알아야 한다. 그러나 이것을 주님을 위하여 쓰지 않고 세상에다 써 버린다면 주님의 것을 도둑질하는 것과 다름이 없는 것이다. 그리스도에 대한 사랑은 이웃을 먹이고 입히고 찾아주고 도와주는 일보다 더 중요한 것이다. 우리에게 주신 첫 계명은 하나님 사랑이며 둘째는 주 안에 있는 이웃에 대한 사랑인 것이다. 주님께서도 세상을 위하여 기도하시지 않았다(요 17:9).

        우리가 세상에 사는 동안 우리의 것을 드려 하나님 사랑과 이웃 사랑을 실천하는 일은 주님께서 오실 때까지 해야 할 일인 것이다. 주님께서 육신으로 계실 때에는 주님께서 십자가에서 죽으시기 전까지 드릴 수 있었다. 이에 마리아는 주님께서 죽으시게 전에 그가 가진 모든 것을 주님의 머리에 다 쏟아 부었던 것이다. 그러나 다른 여인들은기회를 놓쳐버렸다.(눅 24:1-6,막 16:1-5)

   사도 바울은 지금 우리가 주님께 드려 그분을 기쁘시게 하는 것이 무엇인지에 대해 증거했다: "이는 나로 이방인들을 위한 에수 그리스도의 일꾼이 되게 하시어 하나님의 복음을 수행하게 하심으로써 이방인들을 제물로 드리는 일이 성령으로 거룩하게 되어 받으실 수 있도록 하심이라. 그러므로 내가 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님께 속한 일에 자랑하려는 것이 있느니라."(롬 15:16,17)   

      그렇다! 주님께서 부활히시고 승천하셔서 하늘 보좌에 앉아 계시는 동안 그분께서 다시 오실 때까지 우리들이 그분께 드림으로써 그분에 대한 사랑을 나타내는 가장 중요한 일은 우리에게 주신 몸과 물질과 시간을 주님의 영광을 위하여 사용해야 하는 것이다. 그분께서는 모든 사람이 구원받기를 원하시며 동시에 진리의 지식에 이르기를 원하시는 바(딤전 2:4), 이 일을 위하여 우리의 모든 것을 가지고 헌신해야 하는 것이다. 그분께서 쏟은신 물과 피는 모든 사람을 위한 것이기 때문이다. 또한 교회 안에서 한 몸을 이룬 형제자매들을 섬기는 것이 주님을 섬기는 길이 되는 것이다. 우리는 더 이상 주님의 장례를 위하여 드릴 필요가 없기 때문이다. 우리는 주님께서 영광스럽게 나타나실 때에 그분과 함께 영광 가운데 나타나기 위하여는 지금 이 세상에 사는 동안 모든 것을 주님의 일을 위해 드려야 하는 것이다. 사도 바울은 우리가 받을 영광에 대하여 븐명하게 증거했다:  "그러므로 너희가 그리스도와 함께 살아났으면 위에 있는 것들을 구하라. 거기에는 그리스도께서 하나님의 오른편에 앉아 계신느니라. 위에 있는 것들에 마음을 두고 땅에 있는 것들에 마음을 두지 말라. 이는 너희가 죽었고 또 너희의 생명이 그리스도와 함꼐 하나님 안에 감추어졌기 때문이라. 우리의 생명이신 그리스도께서 나타나실 때 그때 너희도 영광 가운데 나타날 것이라. 그러므로 땅에 있는 너희의 지체를 죽이라. 곧 음행과 부정과 사욕과 악한 색욕과 탐심이니 탐심은 우상숭배니라. 이런 것들 때문에 하나님의 진노가 불순종의 자녀들 위에 임하느니라."(골 3:1-5)

       우리가 가진 몸이나 시간이나 모든 소유들은 주님께서 오실 때가 되면 아무 것도 더 이상 주님께 드릴 수없게 되는 것이다. 주님께서 세상에 계실 때에도 주님께 모든 향유를 부어드린 한 두명의 여인 외에는 그것을 드릴 기회를 영원토록 상실했던 것이다. 주님께서 부활하신 후에 향유를 가지고 무덤으로 달려갔지만 주님께서는 더 이상 향유가 필요없으셨던 것이다. 하나님의 계획은 때에 찬 경륜인 것이다. 주님께서 오시면 더 이상 복음을 전할 수도 없고 우리의 몸을 산 제물로 드릴 수도 없으며 우리의 모든 소유도 무용지물이 되고 말 것이다. 이 사실을 가르치시기 위하여 주님께서 유대인 제자들에게 말씀하셨다:

"너희 자신을 위하여 땅에다 보물을 쌓아 두지 말라. 거기에는 좀이나 녹이 해치며, 또 거기는 도둑들이 뚫고 들어와서 도둑질하느니라. 오히려 너희 자신을 위하여 하늘에다 보물을 쌓아 두라. 거기는 좀이나 녹이 해치지도 않으며, 또 거기는 도둑들이 뚫고 들어오지도 못하느니라. 너희 보물이 있는 곳에 너희 마음도 있느니라. ….아무도 두 주인을 섬길 수 없나니, 이는 그가 한 쪽을 미워하고 다른 쪽을 사랑하거나, 한 쪽을 존중하고 다른 쪽을 업신여기기 때문이라. 너희가 하나님과 재물을 동시에 섬길 수 없느니라."(마 6:19,20,21,24)

       그렇다! 우리가 이 땅에서 주님의 일을 위하여 드리는 어떤 것도 낭비하는 것이 아님을 잊지 말자!  주님께서는 우리의 썩을 몸을 죽지 않고 썩지 않는 몸으로 변화시키시는 휴거의 날에 우리가 드린 모든 것들 역시 썩지 않고 영원한 기업이 되게 하실 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 13:1-6

Main scripture: John 8:1-12(Mark 14:3-9, Matt. 26:6-13)

Subject: What are you giving unto the Lord?

       The blessed are they that understand the message given through the thing given unto the Lord Jesus by a woman to prepare the funeral of him. The woman shown in the main passage also appear in the book of Matthew and mark; she is recognized as the sister of Lazarus who was raised from the dead by Jesus.

       There are two kinds of person in the main passage. The first one is the woman that gave away all things that was owned unto the Lord; another one is Judas Iscariot and some other disciples of Jesus that rebuke the woman for her wasting money. The second group of people are urging her to sell the ointment at the price of three hundred pence to give away the poor. But actually, Judas Iscariot cared not  for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.

       Finally, the Lord Jesus made a sentence of judgment to figure out who is right saying, ^" Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this. For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always."(John 12:7,8)

Yea! Even nowadays, there are the same two kinds of people in the church of God. The first group of people are willing to spend for the ministry of gospel as well as brothers and sisters in the church, for they are the members of the body of Christ in whom Christ dwells.

Another group want to spend their possession for something that are not related to the ministry of gospel in the beautiful name of mission; and they also donate money to the community outside church in their name.

       All the possession of Christian are temporarily deposited by God to be used in the future. If we use them not for the Lord but for the world, we are ended up with stealing. The loving God is more important than loving neighbor such as feeding them, clothing them, and helping them. The first commandment  given unto us is to love God; and the second is to love the neighbor in the Lord. Lord Jesus never prayed for the world(John 17:9).

       The new commandment is the thing that we are supposed to do presenting our body until the Lord comes. When the Lord was in the flesh, it was only possible for them to give unto him until he was crucified. It was the reason why Mary gave away to the Lord died pouring all things upon the head of Jesus. But other women lost their opportunity (Luke 24:1-6, Mark 16:1-5)

       Apostle Paul testified of the thing that please the Lord:  ^"That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God."(Rom. 15:16,17)

       Yea! Then what is the most important thing to be given unto the Lord to show our love to him until he comes again? He rose again from the dead, and he is sitting in heaven; we are supposed to spend our body and possession and time for his glory. He please to save all men and to let them come unto the knowledge of the truth (1Tim. 2:4); and we have to dedicate ourselves with all our possession for his ministry. The blood and waters that he shed on the cross are for all men in the world.  And to minister brothers and sisters in the church that is the body of Christ is the way to minister the Lord Jesus. We don't have to give unto his for his funeral anymore. To appear gloriously with him when he appears in his glory, we have to submit all that we have for his ministry. Apostle Paul testified of the glory that we are going to receive: ^"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:"(Col. 3;1-5)

        When the Lord comes, all our body, time and possession shall be no more available to be used for him. While Jesus was in the earth, all other women except couple of woman that poured their ointment unto Jesus lost the opportunity for serving him forever. Even though they ran to the tomb bringing forth ointment after Jesus rose again, he no more needed the ointment. The dispensation of God  is the one of fullness of times. When Jesus comes again, no more gospel shall be preached; and we cannot present our body as sacrifice anymore; and all our possession shall be useless. Jesus taught the Jews of this: ^"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also….. No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."(Matt. 6:19,20,21,24)

       Yea! Let us not forget that nothing can be wasted for his ministry! All things used for him shall be also not corruptible but eternal that is the eternal inheritance, when he changes our body into incorruptible and immortal in the day of Rapture when he appears in the air. Amen! hallelujah!
