금주의 묵상: 시편24:1-10

본문: 히브리서 4:1-16

제목: 주 예수 그리스도께서 주시는 안식을 누리자!

       이 땅에 죄와 사망이 들어온 이후부터 이 땅은 안식할 날이 없었으며 따라서 이 땅에 살고 있는 모든 사람들을 포함하여 모든 피조물들은 고통 가운데 신음하고 있다. 하나님께서는 죄와 사망을 가져온 장본인인 루시퍼를 멸하시기 위하여 그분의 공의 법에 의하여 하늘과 땅에 계획을 세우셨다. 이 뜻을 이루시기 위하여 창조주 하나님께서 사람으로 나타나신 예수께서는 자신과 함께 뜻을 이룰 사도들을 택하시고 그들에게 그 뜻을 위하여 기도할 것을 명령하셨다: "아버지의 왕국이 임하시오며, 아버지의 뜻이 하늘에서와 같이 땅에서도 이루어지이다."(마 6:10)

      일차적으로 하나님께서는 이 땅에 죄와 사망을 멸하신 후에 이 땅에서 제사장 민족이 될 이스라엘을 택하시고 그들에게 자신을 나타내시고 그들이 지켜야할 율법들을 주셨다. 그러나 그들에게 율법을 주신 목적은 그들로 하여금 죄인임을 깨닫고 그리스도께로 인도하기 위함이었다(갈 3:24).  이스라엘 백성들은 그들 자신의 모습을 깨닫지 못함으로 인해  하나님을 믿지 않고 도리어 세상신을 섬김으로써 하나님의 안식에 들어가지 못했던 것이다. 여호수아들 통해 그들이 안식할 땅에 들어갔지만 하나님의 말씀을 들은 자들이 믿음을 결합시키지 못했기 때문에 안식에 들어가지 못하였고 지금도 그들은 살고 있는 땅에서 안식하지 못하고 고통 속에 살고 있는 것이다.

       오늘 본문에서 사도 바울은 일곱째 날이 되면 하나님께서 모든 일에 쉬실 것이라고 증거하고 있다. 그는 창세기에 나타난 하나님의 창조사역을 상기시키면서 "어느 곳에선가 일곱째 날에 관해서 이렇게 말씀하시기를 '하나님께서 일곱째 날에 그의 모든 일에서 쉬셨느니라."고 증거하면서 그 일곱째 날이 오랜 후에 있을 것을 말했다. 다시 말해서 오랜 세월이 지나고 일곱째 날이 되면, 하루가 천년같고 천년이 하루같은 하나님의 시간표에 의하여 육천년이 지나고 칠천년째가 되면 하나님께서 쉬실 것을 증거한 것이다. 이로 인하여 하나님께서 이스라엘 백성에게 안식일을 영원한 표적으로 주셨던 것이다(출 31:13)

     본문에서 사도 바울은 여호수아를 통해서 가나안 땅에서 주셨던 안식은 이스라엘 백성들이 하나님의 말씀에 믿음을 결합시키지 못함으로 인하여 이루어지지 못했지만 이제 대환란 끝에 예수께서 "만왕의 왕 만주의 주"로 나타나실 때 그들이 마침내 그들의 죄를 자복하고 주 예수 그리스도를 믿게 될 때에 이스라엘의 남은 자들이 주 예수 그리스도께서 주시는 왕국에 들어가서 마침내 영원한 안식에 들어갈 것을 증거하고 있는 것이다. 그러므로 이에 대하여 "하나님의 백성에게 한 인식이 남아 있도다."(9절)라고 증거하고 있는 것이다. 이때가 되면 유대인들이 기도해 온 것처럼 "하늘에서 뜻이 이루진 것처럼 땅에서도 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지게" 되는 것이다. 또한 땅도 하나님께서 주시는 안식에 들어가게 될 것이며 사람들의 죄때문에 함께 고통받으며 신음하던 모든 창조물들까지도 안식하게 될 것이다(롬 8:19-21)

       사도 바울은 여호수아를 따라 가나안 땅에 들어갔으나 믿지 못하여 안식에 들어가지 못한 이스라엘 백성의 실패에 대하여 증거하면서 오늘날 은혜 시대에도 죄인인을 깨닫지 못하여 예수 그리스도를 믿지 못하여 안식하지 못하고 수고하고 무거운 죄짐을 지면서 불안 가운데 살고 있는 사람들을 향하여 권면하면서 경고의 메세지를 주고 있는 것이다. 예수께서 이 땅에 나타나셔서 그를 믿는 모든 사람들에게 안식을 주시기 위하여 외치셨다: "수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아, 다 내게로 오라, 그러면 내가 너희에게 쉼을 주리라."(마 11:28) 사도 바울은 오늘날 이 시대에 하나님께서 주시는 안식에 대하여 증거했다: "하나님의 나라는 먹고 마시는 것이 아니라 다만 성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨이라."(롬 14:17)

       그렇다! 옛날 유대인들이 하나님을 믿지 못함으로 인하여 죄의 짐을 지고 수고하면서 두려움 가운데 하나님께 구하지 않고 세상 신들에게 구하여 그들이 하나님께서 주신 땅에서 안식하지 못하고 수천년 동안 유리방황하였던  것처럼 오늘날에도 죄와 사망으로부터 구원하여 영원한 안식을 주시기 위하여 이 땅에 오신 예수 그리스도를 믿지 못함으로 여전히 죄의 짐을 지고 고통하는 모든 사람들을 향하여 성령께서는 사도 바울을 통하여 말씀하고 계시는 것이다. 그러므로 성령께서는 유대인이나 이방인이나 모두가 영원한 안식을 주시는 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 모셔드림으로써 모든 수고를 그치고 성령 안에서 의와 평강과 기쁨 속에서 쉬기를 원하시는 것이다. 이에 대하여 사도 바울은 "그의 안식에 들어간 사람은 하나님께서 자기 일에서 쉬신 것같이 그도 자기 일에서 쉬었느니라."(10절)고 증거하고 있는 것이다.

       천년을 하루같이 오래 참으시는(벧후 3:8,9) 하나님께서는 이 세상의 마직 순간까지 자신을 믿지 않는 사람들에게 기회를 주시기 위하여 자신의 신부들을 하늘로 끌어올리신 후에 이 세상에 심판을 베푸시는 대환란 기간을 통하여 여전히 회개하고 그를 믿을 자들을 찾으시는 것이다. 그분을 믿지 않다가 대환란에 들어가는 유대인들과 이방인들로 하여금 그분을 믿게 하기 위하여 선택받은 유대인들을 통하여 천국복음을 전하게 하실 것이다. 그러므로 회개하고 그분을 맏는 사람들로 하여금 그분의 왕국에 들어가서 안식을 주시려고 계획하신 것이다. 그러므로 사도 바울은 "만일 예수가 그들에게 안식을 주었더라면 하나님께서 그후에 다른 날을 말씀하지 아니하셨으리라. 그러므로 하나님의 백성에게 한 안식이 남아있도다."(8,9절)라고 증거하고 있는 것이다.

        그러므로 사도 바울은 오늘날 은혜 시대에 살고 있는 우리들에게 권면하고 있다: "그러므로 우리가 그 안식에 들어가도록 힘써야 하리니 이는 아무도 똑같은 믿음 없음의 본에 빠지지 않게 하려 함이라. …그러므로 우리가 은혜의 보좌에 담대히 나아가자. 이는 우리가 자비를 얻고 필요한 때에 도우시는 은혜를 받고자 함이라"(11,16)절) 우리의 안식은 이 땅에서부터 누리는 것이다. 천국은 죽어서 가지 않고 살아서 가는 곳이기 때문이다.  믿는 자 속에 이미 하나님의 왕국이 이루어지기 때문인 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 24:1-10

Main scripture: Hebrews 4:1-16

Subject: Have the rest given by the Lord Jesus Christ

       Since sin and death have been brought forth unto the earth, there has been no rest on the earth, and all the natures including man still are screaming in the mist of pain. God had made a plan in heaven and earth to destroy the Lucifer that had brought sin and death according to his principle of righteousness. To achieve his will, the God Creator manifested in flesh in the form of man; and he chose the apostles to make his will be done, and he commanded them  to pray for his will: " Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."(Matt. 6:10)

       God had chosen the people of  Israel so that they may be the priests in his kingdom after he destroy sin and death in the earth; and he revealed himself unto them; and he had given them the law through Moses. The purpose that he had given them the law was for them understand sinners so that they might come to Christ(Gal. 3:24).  But the people of Israel couldn't understand themselves as sinners so that they worshipped the gods of the world rather than believed on God. That was the reason why they couldn't enter into the rest of God. Even though they entered into Canaan of rest through Joshua, the word preached unto them did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it so that they couldn't have rest. They have been living in trouble without the rest of God.

       In the main passage, Apostle Paul testifies, God will rest in the seventh day from all his works. He reminds of the work of creation of God in the book of Genesis saying, "For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works."(v4)

He also says that the seventh day shall come after the so long a time. He actually testifies of the seventh thousand year that shall come after the so long a time according to the time schedule of God that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. That's the reason why God had given the Sabbath Day as the eternal sign unto the people of Israel (Ex. 31:13)

       In the main passage, testifies, the remnant of Israel shall enter the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ through repentance to have the eternal rest when Jesus Christ shall appear as  King of Kings, and Lord of the Lords at the end of the Great Tribulation. He testifies of this saying, "There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God."(v9)

At this time, the will of God shall be done in the earth as is in heaven as the Jews have prayed. And the earth shall enter into the rest of God so that all the natures shall have rest delivered from screaming in the mist of pain (Rom. 8:19-21)

       Apostle Paul testifies of the failure of the People of Israel that couldn't have rest even though they entered into the land of Canaan following Joshua. At the same time, he gives a warning message unto the Christians that not have rest carrying the burden of sins without faith in Christ as they are  living in the age of grace. Jesus cried out to give rest unto them that believe on him: " Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."(Matt. 11:28)

Apostle Paul testified of the rest that God gives in these days: " For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."(Rom. 14:17)

       Yea! As the people of Israel had lived without rest of God for thousands of years because they not believed on God so that they had labored in the midst of burden of sins seeking the gods of the world instead of God, the Holy Ghost is speaking through Apostle Paul unto them that not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ still living in the midst of pain with the burden of sins. Therefore the Holy Ghost wants to give the eternal rest unto them that receive the Lord Jesus Christ so that they may rest in the peace and joy in the Spirit whether they are the Jew or the gentiles. Apostle Paul testifies of this saying,  For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God (v10)

         God has been in long suffering for thousand years as one day (2Pet. 3:8, 9) for them that not believe on him to give them a opportunity until the last moment. Even after he takes his brides  home in heaven, he shall make his chosen Jews preach the gospel of kingdom to save the Jews and the Gentiles in the days of the great Tribulation. God planned to give the rest unto them that repent and believe on him even in the period of the Great Tribulation. This is the reason why Apostle Paul testifies saying,  "Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief….  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."(v11,16)

         Therefore, Apostle Paul encourages us living in the days of grace saying,  "Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief…..  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."(v 11,16)     Our eternal rest begins from the living in the earth, for the kingdom of God not for the dead but for the living. The kingdom of God is already in them that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen! hallelujah!
