금주의 묵상: 17:1-15

본문: 디도서 3:3-11

제목: 중생의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심으로 구원받은 자의 축복

        사도 바울은 사랑하는 영적 아들인 목회자 디도에게 그의 목회 사역을 어떻게 해야 할 것인지에 대해 편지하고 있다. 또한 이 편지 속에는 주님을 기다라는 신부들이 마땅히 해야 할 일들에 대하여 목회자가 가르쳐야할 것에 대하여 말씀하고 있다.

      첫째로, 가장 중요한 것은 "건전한 교리"(sound doctrine)에 부합되는 것만 가리치라는 말씀인 바, 이는 성경 말씀에 부합되는 것만을 가르치라는 말씀인 것이다. 오늘날 처럼 어떤 교단 교리들이나 어떤 유명한 사람들의 가르침을 따르지 말고 오직 하나님 말씀에 부합되는 것만을 가르치라는 말씀인 것이다.

     둘째로, 성도들이 어떻게 행하여야 하는 가에 대하여서도 세밀하게 가르칠 것을 말씀하고 있다:

       나이 많은 남자들은 신중하고 근엄하며, 절제하고 믿음과 사랑과 인내함에 건전하게 하고,

       나이 많은 여자들도 나이 많은 남자들처럼 행하고 행실이 거룩하고 모함하지 아니하며, 술에 인박이지 아니하고, 선한 것들을 가르치는 선생이 되어 젊은 여자들을 가르쳐서 절제하고 남편을 사랑하며 자녀들을 사랑하고, 신중하며 정숙하고 집안 일에 힘쓰며 선하고 남편에게 복종하도록 하라고 권하면서 그 이유로는 하나님의 말씀이 모독을 받지 않게 하려 함이라 말씀하고 있다.

      젊은 남자들 역시 신중하게 행동하도록 권하고 있다. 

    또한 목회자 자신도 스스로 선한 일에 본을 보이고 교리에 있어서는 부패하지 않음과 신중함과 진실함을 보이며 건전한 말을 하여 정죄받지 않도록 하라고 권하고 있다.

       종들도 자기 주인에게 복종하고 매사에 그들을 기쁘게 하고, 거슬러 말하지 말고 착복하지 말며, 온전히 선한 충성을 보이게 하라고 말씀한다.

         아런 교훈을 주시는 이유에 대하여 구원을 주시는 하나님의 은혜가 모든 사람에게 나타나서 불경건과 세상 정욕들을 거부하고, 우리로 신중하며, 의롭고 경건하게 이 현세상을 살아가게 하기 위함이며 이런 삶 가운데 거리낌 없고 담대한 가운데 복된 소망, 곧 위대하신 하나님이신 우리 구주 예수 그리스도께서 영광스럽게 나타나시는 날인 그리스도의 날을 기다리는 삶을 살게하기 위함이라고 말씀하고 있는 것이다.

        사도 바울은 구원받은 우리들이 절대로 잊어서는 안될 것에 대하여 상기시켜 주고 있다. 우리들이 구원받기 전에 행하던 일들, 즉 어리석고 복종치 아니하며, 미혹당하고, 여러가지 욕심과 쾌락에 종노릇하며, 악과 시기 속에서 살고, 가증스러우며, 서로 증오하였던 죄인의 삶을 절대로 잊어서는 안될 것을 상기시켜주고 있는 것이다.

      이렇게 비참한 죄인들로서 마땅히 지옥으로 떨어질 수밖에 없었던 우리들을 향한 하나님의 인자하심과 무조건적인 아가페 사랑 때문에 우리가 행한 의로운 행위에 의하지 않고 그의 자비하심에 따라 중생 (Regeneration)의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심으로 우리를 구원하셨다는 사실을 잊어서는 안될 것이다.

      사도 바울이 로마에 있는 성도들에게 편지할 때에도, "의인을 위하여 죽으려는 사람이 거의 없고 선한 사람을 위하여 죽음을 무릅쓰는 사람이 간혹 있을지 모르지만 우리가 아직 죄인이었을 때 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로써 하나님께서는 우리를 향한 그의 사랑을 나타내셨느니라. 그러므로 이제 그의 피로 의롭게 되었으니 더욱더 우리가 그를 통하여 진노로부터 구원받게 되리라. 우리가 원수되었을 때에도 그의 아들의 죽음으로 인하여 하나님과 화해하게 되었으니 더욱더 화해하게 된 우리는 그의 생명으로 인하여 구원받게 되리라. 그뿐 아니라 이제 우리로 속죄를 얻게 하신 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여, 하나님 안에서 또한 즐거워하느니라."(롬 5:7-11)고 증거했다.

       "중생의 씻음"(The Washing of Regeneration)이 무엇인가? 우리가 죄인임을 진정으로 깨닫고 예수 그리스도의 피의 능력을 깨닫고 그분을 전심으로 믿어 영접할 때에 우리 안에 있는 모든 죄악들, 다시 말해서 악한 생각, 간음, 음행, 살인, 도둑질, 탐욕, 교만과 어리석음(막 7:21-23)들이 순식간에 예수 그리스도의 피로 말미암아 모든 죄들이 용서되어 씻김받아  만물보다 거짓되고 심히 악한(렘 17:9) 마음 속에 있는 양심이 깨끗하게 씻겨져서(히 9:14)  하나님의 거룩한 성령으로 다시 태어나게 되는 것이다. 이때에 죽었던 영을 다시 살리시어 일으키셔서 그리스도 예수 안에 천상에 앉게 하시며 (엡 2:6) 이때에 비로서 성령 안에서 하나님의 왕국을 볼 수 있으며, 동시에 하나님의 왕국 안으로 들어가게 되는 것이다(요 3:3,5).

       또한 이때에 아담의 자손인 옛 사람은 십자가에서 죽으신 그리스도 안으로 침례를 받아 그리스도께서 장사되셧을 때 그와 함께 장사된 것으로 하나님께서 여기시며 그분께서 다시 나타나실 때에 그의 부활의 모양과 같이 되는것이다. 우리가 반드시 알 것은, 우리 옛 사람이 그와 함께 십자가에 못박힌 것은  죄의 몸을 멸하여 더 이상 우리가 죄에게 종노릇 하지 않게 하기 위함인 바, 이는 죽은 자가 죄로부터 자유롭게 되기 때문인 것이다. 그러므로 이와같이 우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었다면 또한 그분께서 오실 때 그분과 함께 살 것을 믿는 것이다 (롬 6:2-8).

       그러므로 중생의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심을 통하여 구원받은 사람은 자신을 정녕 죄에게는 죽은 자요, 다시 말해서 이제 몸은 죄를 지을 수 없는 죽은 자가 된 것과 예수 그리스도 우리 주로 말미암아 하나님께는 산 자로 여기고 살아야 하는 것이다. 뿐만 아니라 이 사실을 알고 또한 그렇게 여기면서  몸을 불의의 병기로 죄에게 내어주지 말고 다만 몸을 죽은 자들로부터 살아난 자처럼 하나님께 드리며 적극적으로 몸을 의의 병기로 하나님께 드려야 하는 것이다 (롬 6:11-13).

         주 예수 그리스도께서는 죽으시기 전에 유대인들에게 말씀하셨다: "너희가 내 말에 거하면 참으로 나의 제자가 되고 진리를 알게 되리니 그 진리가 너희를 자유롭게 하리라."(요 8:31,32)

그렇다! 모든 하나님의 말씀은 진리이다. 그 진리는 우리 육신으로는 느낄 수가 없는 하나님의 말씀인 것이다. 그러나 진리의 말씀을 믿고 행할 때 그 진리의 말씀이 역사하심을 알 수 있는 것이다. 사도 바울은 그가 전하는 하나님의 말씀을 믿는 데살로니가 교회 성도들에게, "이로 인하여우리가 하나님께 쉬지 않고 감사함은 너희가 우리에게 들은 바 하나님의 말씀을 받을 때에 사람의 말로 받으들이지 아니하고 사실 그대로 하나님의 말씀으로 받았음이니, 이 말씀이 믿는 너희 가운데서도 효과적으로 역사하느니라."(살전 2:13)고 증거했다.

           우리 구주 예수 그리스도께서 아담이 범죄한 후 저주받은  땅을 새롭게 하시는  새 세대(Regeneration)에 이 땅에 오셔서 영광의 보좌에 다시 앉으실 것이다 (마 19:28). 이 때에 중생(Regeneration)의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심으로 구원받은 그리스도의 신부들 역시 회복된 땅에서 주님과 함께 통치하게 될 것이다 (딤후 2;12, 롬 8:17,18). 이 진리를 믿는 자마다 죄와 사망과 심판과 저주로부터 자유한 삶을 누리게 되는 것이다. 더 이상 어리석은 논쟁들이나 율법에 대한 언쟁으로부터 자유하게 되는 것이다. 왜 그런가? 생명의 주님께서 안에 함께 살고 계시니 무슨 걱정이 있겠는가? 항상 "성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨만 있는 하나님의 왕국" 안에서 이미 살고 있기 때문이 아닌가? (롬 14:17) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 17:1-15

Main scripture: Titus 3:1-11

Subject: Blessing for them that are washed of regeneration and  renewed of the Holy Ghost

        Apostle Paul is wring to Titus, his spiritual son and a pastor to teach him how he is supposed to teach his church members. He is teaching Titus how the brides of Christ should behave themselves to wait upon the Lord.

       Firstly, one of the most important thing is to speak the things which become sound doctrine that must be according to the scriptures neither following any doctrine of any denomination nor any word of any famous men.

       Secondly, Apostle Paul is teaching him for his church members how to behavior themselves in details.

       For the aged men, they are to be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

        For aged women, they should be in behavior as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things. They may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children. They are to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

       For young men, they are also are to exhort to be sober minded.

        For the pastor, Titus, in all things  he has to show himself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing incorruptness, gravity, sincerity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be shamed, having no evil thing to say of him.

       For servants, they should be obedient unto their masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; not purloining, but showing all good fidelity: that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.

      Apostle Paul explained about  the reason why he gives such teaching, it is because the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men , teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ not being of guilty and with boldness.

       Apostle Paul reminds us of the thing that we should not forget about; for we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

      Therefore, we should not forget the mercy of God as well as unconditional Agape love toward us, even though we were to cast into the hell because of our miserable sins; and he rather gave us salvation not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, by washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

       Apostle Paul testified of the mercy and love of God when he wrote unto the saints in Rome: "For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.(Rom. 5:7-11)

       Then what is the washing of regeneration? When we understand ourselves as miserable sinners, and understand the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, and receive him by faith all in our heart, all our sins are to be forgiven and cleansed by his blood; in other word, all kinds of evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride and foolishness (Mark 7:21-23) shall be cleansed through forgiveness by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then the conscience in the heart that is deceitful of all things and desperately wicked (Jer. 17:9) shall be purged (Heb. 9:14) to be born again of the Holy Ghost. Then, the dead spirit shall be revived, and raised, and be sit in heavenly place in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:6). Finally we can see the kingdom of God in the Spirit, and enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:3,5)

       And the old man that is the seed of Adam shall be baptized into Jesus Christ which died on the cross. At the same time we shall be recognized by God as the one that was buried with Christ when he was buried; and we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. We have to know that our old man was died on the cross with him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, that hence forth we should not serve sin, for he that is dead is freed from sin. Therefore, if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him (Rom. 6:2-8)

       Therefore they that are saved through the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Ghost should recon themselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through the Lord Jesus Christ our Lord. And further more, that have to know this fact, and recon this, and yield themselves unto God, and yield their members as instruments of righteousness unto God (Rom. 6:11-13)

       The Lord Jesus Christ spoke unto the Jew before he was crucified: "If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."(John 8:31,32)

Yea! All the words of God are the truth. We cannot feel the words of God to test. But, when we believe in the words of God, and we walk in them, we shall understand the power of the truth. Apostle Paul testified of the power of the word of God unto the saints of Thessalonians: "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe."(1Thes. 2:13)

       Our Lord Jesus Christ shall sit at his glorious in the regeneration when he comes again to this earth. He shall regenerate the cursed earth because of the sin of Adam (Matt. 19:28)  Then, the brides of Christ that are saved through the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Ghost shall reign with him in the regenerated earth (2Tim. 2:12. Rom 8:17,18) Whosoever believe in this truth shall be free from sin and death and judgment and curses; and also shall be free from foolish questions, and strivings about the law. We don't have to worry about anything, for the of life is dwelling within us; we are already dwelling in the kingdom of God where righteousness, peace and joy (Rom. 14;17) Amen! hallelujah!
