금주의 묵상: 시편 102:1-28

본문: 히브리서 13:1-3

제목: 옥에 갇힌 자 처럼, 학대받는 자처럼 그들을 기억하라!

       오늘날 미국이나 한국이나 여러 자유 서방 국가에서는 그리스도인라고 해서 감옥에 가두거나 고문하는 곳은 없다. 오늘 본문 말씀 가운데 우리들에게 주시는 메세지는 이북이나 중국, 베트남, 라오스, 캄보디아 같은 공산국가와 모슬렘 나라들에서 옥에 갇혀서 고문을 받으며 순교하여 믿음을 지키는 그리스도인들을 기억해야 하는 것이 서방 국가에서 안락하게 신앙생활하는 그리스도인들에게 대한 하나님의 음성임에 틀림 없는 것이다.

        이 지상에 있는 하나님의 교회는 하나님께서 보실 때 단 하나밖에 없다. 사도 바울은 하나님의 교회에 대하여 “내가 너희를 한 남편에게 정혼시켰나니 이는 한 순결한 처녀로 너희를 그리스도께 바치려는 것이라.”(고후 11:2)고 증거했다. 그렇다! 한 남편은 주 예수 그리스도시며, 그분은 교회의 머리가 되신다. 그리고 모든 그리스도인들은 그리스도의 신부의 지체들이다. 그리고 지체들은 장소와 시간과 상관 없이 영적으로 연결되어 있는 것이다.

        루마니아에서 오랫 동안 감옥생활을 하면서 고문을 받으셨던 리차드 움브란트 목사는 발가락에 엄청난 고문을 받았을 때에 자신도 모르게 입으로부터 외마디 소리가 터져나왔다고 말한 적이 있다. 그것은 자신의 발가락과 입이 한 몸의 지체이기에 그런 것이 아니겠느냐?라고 말했다. 그는 이 고백을 하면서 지상에 있는 하나님의 교회가 한 몸이라면 공산국가나 모슬렘 국가에 있는  감옥에서 온갖 고문 속에서 고통받는 그리스도인들의 고통이 서방 국가에 있는 그리스도인들에게도 동일하게 느껴져야하는 것이 아닌가? 하는 질문이었다.

        예수님께서 겟세마네 동산에서 기도하고 계실 때에 어떤 일이 있었는가? 마태는 이렇게 기록하고 있다: “그때에 예수께서 그들과 함께 겟세마네라 하는 곳에 가서, 제자들에게 말씀하시기를 ‘내가 저쪽에 가서 기도할 동안 너희는 여기 앉아 있으라.’고 하시며 베드로와 세베데의 두 아들을 데리고 가서 슬퍼하며 심히 괴로워하기 시작하시더라. 주께서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 ‘내 혼이 심히 슬퍼 죽을 지경이라. 너희는 여기서 기다리며, 나와 함께 깨어 있으라.’고 하시고 조금 가시다가 얼굴을 땅에 대고 기도하며 말씀하시기를 ‘오, 나의 아버지시여, 가능하시거든 이 잔을 내게서 지나가게 하옵소서, 그러나 내가 원하는 대로 하지 마옵시고 아버지께서 원하시는 대로 하옵소서.’하고 제자들에게 돌아와 그들이 자고 있는 것을 보시고 베드로에게 말씀하시기를 ‘너희가 나와 함께 한 시간도 깨어 있을 수 없더냐? 너희가 시험에 들지 않게 깨어 기도하라. 참으로 영은 원하지만 육신은 연약하도다.’라고 하시더라.”(마 26:36-41)

        겟세마네 동산에서 고통 가운데 기도하시는 주님을 보면서도 제자들은 한 시간도 함께 기도하지 못하고 잠을 자고 있었던 것이다. 오늘날 주님의 제자들은 어떠한가? 지금 주님께서는 여전히 고통 가운데 기도하고 계시는 것이다.  공산권과 모슬렘권에 있는 그분의 지체들이 감옥에 갇혀서 온갖 고문과 박해를 받고 있는 그들의 고통을 보시면서 주님께서는 그들을 위하여 중보하고 계시는 것이다, 그들의 고통이 주님의 고통이기 때문이 아닌가? 겟세마네 동산에서 고통 받으시던 주님께서는 지난 이천 년 동안 하루도 쉬지 않으시고 그들을 위해서 기도하고 계시는 것이다. 이천 년 전에 겟세마네 동산에서 돌 던질만한 곳에서 기도하던 베드로와 요한과 야고보마져도 주님께서 고통 속에 기도하시는 소리를 듣고서도 단 한 시간도 견디지 못하고 잠자고 있었던 것이다.

         오늘날 우리를 포함하여 서방 자유 국가에 있는 그리스도인들은 어떠한가? 성령이 있는 그리스도인들은 사도 바울이 증거한 것처럼 “그리스도의 생각을 가진 자들“(고전 2:16)이 아닌가? 그리스도의 생각을 가진 자들은 당연히 그리스도께서 하늘에서  박해받는 그리스도인들로 인하여 고통받으시는 그 고통을 느낄 수 있도록 영적으로 깨어 있어야 하는 것이다. 그런데 느껴지지 않는 것은 무엇 때문인가? 주님의 말씀대로 시험에 든 까닭이 아닌가? 다시 말해서 공산권이나 모슬렘 권에서  다른 지체들을 고문하고 박해하는 사탄이 서방 자유 국가에 있는 그리스도인들로 하여금 영적인 잠을 자게 하여 그들을 위하여 기도하지 못하고 물질적으로도 돕지 못하게 하려고 시험하기 때문이 아니겠는가? 뿐만 아니라 그들을 위하여 기도하지 못하게 할 뿐만 아니하 오히여 물어 뜯고 서로 싸우게 만들고 있지 않는가? 깊히 생각해 보아야 할 것이다.

         오늘날 교회들마다(특히 한국교회들) 선교를 부르짖고 있는 것을 본다. 선교가 무엇인가? 물론 복음을 듣지 못한 곳에 있는 혼들에게 그리스도의 복음을 전하는 것이다. 세계 선교를 시작한 사도 바울은 가는 곳마다 복음을 전하며 경제적으로 고통받는 교회 형제 자매들을 구제하는 일을 게을리 하지 않았다. 오늘 본문을 통하여 우리들에게 주시는 말씀처럼, “옥에 갇힌 자들을 함께 갇힌 것처럼 기억하고 너희 자신도 몸을 가졌은즉 학대받는 자들을 기억하라.”(히 13:3)는 말씀은 오늘날 우리들에게 세계 선교에 대한 아주 중요한 메세지를 주시고 있다.   이 말씀에 순종함으로써 지금 고통 속에서 중보하시는 주님의 마음을 기쁘시게 할 수 있을 것이다.

         성령님께서는 이 교회에게 로마 교회로 인하여 저주받은 나라들에게 복음을 전하는 문을 열어주셨고,  또한 유대인을 선교하는 Jews For Jesus와 동역함으로써 유대인들에게 복음 전하는 일에 동참하게 하셨으며, 중국 지하교회 성도들을 만나게 하셔서 미약하나마 Back To Jerusalem 사역에 동참하는 기회를 주셨다. 이제 성령께서는 이 마지막 때에 공산권과 모슬렘 국가에서 고통받는 그리스도인들과 특히 감옥 밖에 남겨져서 더 큰 고통을 받고 있는 아내들과 자녀들을 도울 수 있는 문을 열어주시기 원하신다.

        루마니아에서 거의 20년 동안 온갖 고문과 박해를 받으셨던 Richard Wurmbrand 목사님을 통하여 1967년에 세워진 순교자의 소리(The Voice of Martyrs) 선교단체를 통하여 온 세계에서 박해받고 순교하는 그리스도인들을 도울 길을 열어주시는 것이다. 그들에게 필요한 것들을 제공해 줌으로써 우리가 직접 가서 복음을 전하지는 못하지만 그들이 고난 가운데서도 죽기까지 전하는 복음 사역에 필요한 성경과 전도지를 공급할 수 있는 일에 동참하는 일과 감옥 밖에서 고통받는 그들의 가족들의 생계를 도울 수 있는 일이다. 그들은 감옥 속에서도 그들을 고문하는 사람들에게 그리스도의 사랑으로 복음을 전하고 그들은 그때마다 그 댓가로 고문을 받고 있는 것이다.

        오늘날 많은 선교사들이 공산권이나 모슬렘 권에 파송되고 있다. 그러나 그들이 복음을 전하면 투옥되거나 죽을 수도 있다. 그런데 과연 얼마나 많은 선교사들이 모든 박해와 죽음을 감수하고 있는가? 우리가 반드시 알아야 하는 것은 하나님께서는 박해와 죽음을 무릅쓰고 복음을 전하다가 투옥되고 고문받는 현지 그리스도인들을 통하여 성령께서는 지금도 쉬지 않고 공산당원들과 모슬렘들에게 복음을 전하시는 진정한 선교사역을 하고 계시는 것이다.  그들이야말로 진정한 선교사들이며 그리스도의 천년왕국 때에 열 고을을 다스리는 자들인 것이다. 그러므로, 교회는 갚을 능력이 없는 그들과 그들의 가족들을 돕는 일이 진정으로 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 선교가 되는 것이다.

         이제 자다가 깰 때가 되었다.우리를 너무나도 안락한 미국 땅에 살게 하신 주님의 뜻을 오늘 메세지를 통하여 깨닫는다면 우리를 미국 땅으로 인도하시고 구원을 받게 하신 하나님의 참 뜻을  행하는 축복을 누리게 되는 것이다. 이 선교에 모두 동참하지 않겠는가? 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 102:1-28

Main scripture: Hebrews 13:1-3

Subject: Remember them that are in bond, and suffer adversity!

        We live in free country where no one is to be put in prison and tortured because he or  is Christian. In the main passage, the Holy Ghost must be asking unto the Christians that live in West free countries in peace and comfort to remember the Christians in the underground churches that are living in Communist countries such North Korea, China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia as well as Islam countries; many of them are in bond and under torturing severely by faith.

        There in only one church in the earth to the eyes of God. Apostle Paul testified of this one church: “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.”(2Cor. 11:2)

Yea! One husband is the Lord Jesus Christ that is the head of the church; and all the Christians are the members of the bride of Christ. And all the members should be connected spiritually regardless of different places or different time.

          Pastor Richard Wurmbrand had been tortured severely in the prison in Rumania. When his toes were tortured severely, he screamed out of his mouth at the same time, because his toes and mouth are same body each other. He thought, if all the churches of God are one body, the suffering of the Christians that are in prison, and tortured in Communist countries as well as in Islam countries should be felt unto the Christians that are in West free countries such as America and Korea and so on. It was the question of him.

       What happened when Jesus was praying at Gethsemane? Matthew testified:

“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”(Matt. 26:36-41)

        Even seeing Jesus praying in his suffering, his disciples couldn’t watch with him even one hour falling in sleep. What about us, so called the disciples of Jesus Christ? Even now, Jesus Christ is still praying painfully in heaven. Her is interceding for the Christians that are persecuted in prison with all kind of torturing in the communist and Islam countries, because their pain is his pain as their head. Jesus Christ has been praying continually without ceasing even one day for last two thousand years as he prayed at Gethsemane. Even Peter, John and James couldn’t endured even one hour, in spite they watched Jesus in suffering being away from him about stone cast.

        How about the Christians including living in West free countries nowadays? As testified by Apostle Paul, whosoever is born of the Spirit has the mind of Christ(1Cor. 2:16) One that has the mind of Christ should be awaken spiritually so that he may feel the suffering of Christ in heaven for the Christians that are suffering. Then what is the reason why we cannot feel it, if not? The Stan that is persecuting and torturing the Christians in the Communist countries as well as Islam countries is making western Christians sleep spiritually so that they may not pray for them neither support financially. Not only the Satan keeps them from praying for the Christians in torturing and persecution; and in addition makes them fight one another unnecessarily. We have to think about it seriously.

        Nowadays, almost all churches, especially Korean churches, are putting the world mission as the first priority of their ministry. Then what is the mission? Of course, it is to preach the gospel unto the souls where no gospel has been preached yet. Apostle Paul is the one that is the leader of the world mission; he preached the gospel where ever he went, but also he never lazy for helping the brothers and sisters in poverty. In the main passage given us today, we are hearing a very important message related world mission: “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.”(Heb. 13:3)  Obeying this message is to please the Lord Jesus Christ that is interceding for the suffering Christians.

        The Holy Ghost has opened the door of mission for this church to preach the gospel unto the souls that have been living in curses under the Roman church. He also gave us opportunity to participate in evangelizing the Jew through Jews for Jesus. He also gave us divine meeting with the saints of the underground churches of China so that we may participate in Back to Jerusalem Mission. Now the Holy Ghost is willing to open another door for world mission so that we may be able to help the Christians in persecution and torturing as well as their families suffering outside prison.

        Pastor Richard Wurmbrand who had been persecuted and tortured almost 20 years in Rumania established the mission named as “The Voice Of the Martyrs” in 1967. This mission is the door to help the Christians in persecution and torturing  in the world. Even though we cannot go there to preach the gospel, we can supply the literatures that they need for the gospel such as bibles and tracks; in addition to it, we can help their families financially suffering outside prison. They are preaching the gospel unto the torturers in the exchange of tortures.

        Nowadays many missionaries are sent to the communist countries as well as Islam ones. They are to be arrested and put in jail, if they are found out in the midst of evangelism.  Then how may missionaries are willing to embrace such kinds of persecution and even death? There is one very important thing that we have to know; the Holy Ghost is still preaching the gospel unto the communists and Muslims through the local Christians of the underground churches that are not willing to save themselves before arrest to be tortured. They are true missionaries; and they are the very ones that are to rule over ten cities in the Millennium of Jesus Christ. To help them and their families that cannot pay back to us is to be the true mission that please the Lord God.

        It is the real time for us to be awaken from deep sleep. If we understand the will of God that he  allows us to live in America comfortably and gave the grace of salvation, we shall be blessed through doing the true will of God. What about participating in this mission with pleasure! Amen Hallelujah!
