금주의 묵상: 시편 23:1-6

본문: 로마서 5:1-11

제목: 하나님의 자녀가 이 세상에서 누리는 지각을 초월한 축복들

         사도 바울은 자신이 구원받아 의롭게 된 후에 자신이 겪는 어떤 고난과 상관없이 육신의 환경을 초월하여 누리는 능력에 대하여 증거하고 있습니다. 사도바울 안에 계셨던 그리스도의 성령은 오늘날 주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 죄사함 받아 성령으로 거듭난 하나님의 자녀들이 누릴 수 있는 동일한 능력인 것입니다. 그러나 누구나 다같은 축복을 누리는 것이 아니라 그 축복을 누리기를 원하는 자들이 누릴 수 있는 것입니다. 이 세상에서 육신으로 태어나는 것은 누구나 차별이 없지만 삶 속에서누리는 것은 사람마다 다른 것처럼, 영적인 출생 이후에 누리는 축복도 다른 것입니다.

      첫 번째 단계로, 믿음으로 의롭게 된 사람이 누리는 첫 번째 축복에 대하여 사도 바울이 증거하는 것은 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님과 화평을 갖는다는 것입니다. 화평이 무엇입니까? 이 화평은 이 세상이 말하는 평화가 아닙니다. 주님께서는 이 땅에 계실 때에 이 화평에 대하여 제자들에게 친히 말씀하셨습니다: “내가 너희에게 화평을 남겨 두나니 나의 화평을 너희에게 주노라. 내가 너희에게 주는 것은 세상이 주는 것과 같지 아니하니, 너희는 마음에 근심하지 말고, 두려워하지도 말라.”(요 14:27)

        마침내 주님께서 부활하신 후에 제자들에게 나타나셔서 그들에게 주신 첫 번째 선물이 화평이었습니다. 사도 요한은 이렇게 증거합니다: “그리하여 주의 첫날, 그 날 저녁에 제자들이 모인 곳에는 유대인들을 두려워하여 문들이 잠겨있었는데 예수께서 오셔서 그 가운데 서서 그들에게 말씀하시기를 ‘너희에게 평강이 있으라.’고 하시더라.”(요 20:19)

        사도 바울은 주님께서 주시는 화평에 대하여 말할 때, 하나님의 왕국에서 누리는 것이라고 증거했는데 “하나님의 왕국은 성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨이라.”(롬 14:17) 증거함으로써 하나님의 화평은 주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 영접할 때 받는 성령을 통하여 모든 죄들이 사함을 받아 의롭게 될 때에 찾아오는 평강입니다. 이는 마치 기드온이 하나님을 보았기 때문에 죽어야 마땅함에도 죽지 아니할 것이라는 주의 천사의 말을 듣고 그곳에 제단을 쌓고 그것을 여호와 샬롬이라고 한 평강(판 6:24)과 같은 것입니다.  다시 말해서 사형집행을 받기 직전에 갑자기 사면령이 내렸을 때 오는 평강과 같은 것입니다. 하나님과 원수 관계에 있었던 죄인이 주 예수 그리스도의 피 공로로 인해 하나님과 화평 관계를 갖게 된 것입니다. 여러분은 이런 평강을 누리고 있습니까?

       사도 바울은 로마에 있는 성도들에게 편지할 때, “그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 자들에게는 결코 정죄함이 없나니, 그들은 육신을 따라 행하지 아니하고 성령을 따라 행하느니라. 이는 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 생명의 성령의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 나를 해방시켰기 때문이라.”(롬 8:1, 2)고 증거했습니다.

다시 말해서, 성령으로 거듭난 사람은 이미 죄와 사망이 군림하는 세상으로부터 나와서 성령 안에 있는 영원한 생명이 있는 하나님의 왕국 안에서 살기 때문에 정죄의식 없는 화평의 삶을 누리게 된다는 것입니다. 거듭나지 않은 사람이 아무리 노력해도 성령 안에 있는 화평을 누릴 수 없는 것입니다.

        두 번째, 하나님의 자녀들은 비록 세상에 살고 있지만 세상에서 주는 것을 바라보지 말고 항상 믿음을 가지고 살아갈 때에 오직 주 예수 그리스도께서 영광 가운데 다시 오시는 그날, 즉 그리스도의 날을 바라보면서 즐거워하는 삶을 사는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 즐거움을 주는 것은 다른 어떤 것도 아니고 영광스럽게 오시는 그분을 바라는 소망 안에 있는 삶을 살게 된다는 것입니다. 그러므로 이 믿음이 실상이 될 때에 주님의 오심이 막연한 추상적인 것이 아니라 삶 속에서 실상이 된다는 것입니다 (히 11:1).

       세 번째 단계로, 하나님과 화평을 가지고 하나님의 영광의 소망을 즐거워하는 삶을 살게 될 때에 세상에서 환난을 당할 때에도 슬퍼하지 않고 오히려 즐거워할 수 있다는 것입니다. 예수께서도 제자들에게 마지막으로 말씀하실 때에 그들이 세상에서 환난을 당할 것을 말씀하셨습니다: “내가 이런 일들을 너희에게 말한 것은 너희가 내 안에서 화평을 지니게 하려 함이라. 세상에서는 너희가 환난을 당할 것이나 기운을 내라. 내가 세상을 이겼노라.”(요 16:33) 사도 바울은 히브리인들에게 예수께서 받으신 고난에 대하여 증거할 때에 “그는 자기 앞에 놓인 즐거움을 위하여 십자가를 견디시고 수치를 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님의 조좌 오른편에 앉으셨느니라.”(히 12:2)고 말했습니다.

그렇습니다! 구원받아 의롭게 되어 하나님과 화평을 가지고 사는 그리스도인들은 앞에 있는 즐거움, 즉 그리스도의 날(휴거의 날)을 바라보면서 모든 고난과 수치를 견딜 수 있는 것입니다.

        사도 바울은 본문에서 그리스도인이 환난 가운데서도 즐거워할 수 있는 이유에 대하여, 환난을 겪을 때에 인내심이 생기게 되며, 인내할 때에 연단 속에서 하나님께서 주시는 능력과 기쁨과 소망을 경험하게 되고, 이때에 진정한 하늘에 대한 소망을 가지는 삶을 살게 된다는 간증을 하고 있는 것입니다. 그가 경험한 것은 환난과 인내와 연단 속에 있을 때에 성령을 통하여 하나님의 사랑이 마음 속에 부어지기 때문에 이 땅에서 고난과 수치 가운데 살지라도 그리스도의 날을 바라보는 소망이 부끄럽지 않고 그리스도의 복음을 담대하게 전한 것입니다. 그가 육체의 가시를 제거해 달라고 세 번 간구하였을 때 ” 내 은혜가 네게 충분하도다. 이는 내 능력이 약한데서 온전하게 됨이니라.”(고후 12:9)는 응답을 받았을 때 그는 오히려 자신의 약함을 자랑함으로써 그리스도의 능력이 자신 안에 거하기를 원했던 것입니다.

세상이 살만 데가 되지 못하여 옛 성도들은 광야와 산속과 동굴과 토굴에서 유리하였습니다. 그들은 환난을 통하여 부끄럽지 않은 하늘의 소망을 붙잡았기 때문입니다.

         이 능력이 바로 본문에서 증거하는 성령을 통하여 마음 속에 부어주시는 하나님의 사랑의 능력인 것입니다. 이 하나님이 사랑은 예수님처럼 원수를 위하여 죽을 수도 있는 그러한 능력이 아니겠습니까? 우리 모두는 하나님의 독생자를 죽인 원수들이었습니다. 우리 죄들로 인하여 그분이 죽으셨기 때문입니다. 그럼에도 하나님께서는 그 아들의 피를 믿었을 때 우리를 용서해 주시고 우리와 화해하셨을뿐만 아니라 우리를 양자로 삼으시고 그리스도의 종들이 되는 축복을 주셨습니다. 옛날 손양원 목사님 안에 이 사랑의 능력이 임하여 자신의 두 아들을 죽인 원수를 용서하고 아들삼아 주의 종으로 만들 수 있었던 것입니다. 뿐만아니라  이 능력은 공산권이나 이슬람권에 갇혀있는 그리스도인들이 지금도 그들의 마음 속에 부음받고 있는 하나님의 사랑이 아니겠습니까?

        네 번째로, 주 예수 그리스도의 피로 의롭게 되었기에 더욱 더 그분을 통하여 진노로부터 구원받게 되리라는 확신을 갖게 되는 것입니다. 진노가 무엇입니까? 장차 온 땅을 시험하는 대환란의 때인 것입니다. 성령께서 필라델피아 교회의 천사에게 약속하신 그 약속을 받은자 처럼 마음 속에 평안을 누리게 되는 것입니다. “네가 나의 인내의 말씀을 지켰기 때문에 나도 시험의 때에 너를 지키리니, 이는 온 세상에 임하여 땅 위에 사는 사람들을 시험하는 때라.”(계 3:10) 다시 말해서 대 환난 전에 휴거된다는 확신 속에 평안을 누리는 것입니다.

        마지막 단계로, 속죄를 얻게 하신 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 앞으로 임할 진노의 날에 들어기지 않고 공중에서 주님을 만날 소망을 갖게 됨으로써 하나님 안에서 즐거워하는 삶을 누리게 되는 것입니다. 이로 인하여 사도바울은 복음을 전하면서 환난을 당하고 있는 데살로니가 교회 성도들에게 “항상 기뻐하라. 쉬지 말고 기도하라. 모든 일에 감사하라. 이것은 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희에 관한 하나님의 뜻이니라. 성령을 소멸치 말라.”(살전 5:16-19)고 명령한 것입니다.

        오늘 본문에서 그리스도인들이 이 세상에 사는 동안 마땅히 누려야 할 축복에 대하여 사도바울이 친히 누리면서 경험한 것들을 증거하고 있는 것입니다. 우리가 받은 성령은 그가 받은 성령과 동일하며 그리스도 예수 안에 있었던 성령과도 동일한 것으로서 그분을 죽은자로부터 살리신 영인 것입니다. 우리가 이 믿음으로 나아갈 때 우리 모두가 누릴 수 있는 축복이기도 한 것입니다. 하나님의 능력이 그리스도 안에서 역사하게 하셔서 그를 죽은 자들로부터 살리신 것처럼 우리도 믿음 안에서 행할 때 부활의 능력을 가지고 살면서 세상을 이길 수 있는 것입니다. 그리스도의 날을 바라보는 소망을 가진 사람은  누구나 그분께서 정결하신 것처럼 자신을 정결케 하는 삶을 살아야 하는 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 23:1-6

Subject: Blessings beyond understanding that the children of God have in this world

         Apostle Paul testifies of the power beyond understanding related to his affliction after he was saved unto righteousness. The Spirit of God in Apostle Paul is the same power for the children of God that received the remission of sins when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. However not the all the children of God can have the same blessing. As there is no discrimination for everyone in the natural birth in the world, but their quality of life could be different from each other,  the blessing after the spiritual birth is different from each other.

        Apostle Paul testifies of the first blessing for them that are justified by faith ; they have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. What is peace? This peace is different from the peace in the world. Jesus spoke unto his disciples of peace:

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”(John 14:27)

          Finally, after Jesus rose again from the dead, he gave peace unto the disciples as the first gift, as Apostle John testified:

“Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.”(John 20:19)

        Apostle Paul testified of peace that is in the kingdom of God saying, “righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”(Rom. 14:17) The peace of God is from the Holy Ghost through the remission of sins when man receives the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the same peace that was given to Gideon when the LORD said unto him not to die even though he saw the angel of the LORD; he built an alter there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom (Judge 6:24). In other word, this kind of peace  comes when the pardon is announced all of sudden, just before execution of capital punishment. We were the enemy of God, but now we have peace with God through the blood of Jesus Christ. Do you have such kind of peace?

         Apostle Paul testified unto the saints in Rome saying,

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”(Rom. 8:1,2)

In other word, they that are born again of the Spirit have already delivered from the world of sin death; and now they are dwelling in the kingdom of God wherein eternal life is, and they have peace without condemnation. Man that is not born again cannot have peace in the Holy Ghost at all.

          Secondly, the children of God, even though they are living in the world, they are able to rejoice by faith when they are looking forward the glorious coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, not looking for the things in the world. In other word, the joy is only from the hope that the Lord Jesus Christ appears gloriously in the air. Therefore, when this faith becomes substance, his coming is no more abstract one, but real one.(Heb. 11:1)

          Thirdly, when we have peace with God, and have rejoice in the hope for his glorious coming, we can rejoice, not grieve even when we suffer. Jesus said unto his disciples that they shall have tribulations in the world just before he left the world: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”)John 16:33)

Apostle Paul also testified of the suffering of Jesus unto the Hebrews saying, “for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”(Heb. 12:2)

Yes! Christians also can endure sufferings, and despise the shame looking forward the joy that is set before them, the day of Christ (the Day of Rapture), because they have peace with God in the righteousness.

        Apostle Paul also testified of the reason why Christians can rejoice in the midst of tribulation; tribulation works patience; and patience gives experience of the power of God and the joy, and then, have hope in heaven. He testifies that the love of God is shed abroad in his heart by the Holy Ghost when he had passed through tribulation and endurance and experience. And he was not ashamed of the hope for the day of Christ, and preached the gospel boldly. When he sought the Lord a thorn in the flesh three times, God answered to him saying, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”(2Cor. 12:9) Thereafter he took pleasure in his infirmities, and he sought the strength of God abide in him. Some of early Christians wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth, because the world was not worthy.

        This power is from the love of God that is poured in the heart through the Holy Ghost. This power of love of God is to die for the enemy as Jesus did, isn’t it? We were the enemies of God, for all of us killed his Son; he died for our sins. However he forgave us, and adopted us as his sons, just when we believed on him; even he made us the servants of Christ. Such kind of power of the love of God was poured in the heart of pastor Son, Yang Won so that he could forgive the enemy that killed his two sons, and adopted him as his son, and made him a servant of God. Not only him, but the Christians in the bondage in the prison in the Communist and Islam countries are still receiving the love of God in their heart.

        Fourthly, we are confident that we shall be saved from the  wrath through him, for we are justified through his blood. What is the wrath? It is the Great Tribulation to come that  is hour of temptation which shall come upon  all the world. We have peace as we received the same promise that was given unto the angel of the church in Philadelphia by the Holy Ghost as said: “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”(Rev. 3:10) This is the peace in the confidence that we shall be translated before the Great Tribulation.

         In the final stage, we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ who gave us redemption of sins, for we have the hope to see the Lord in the air not emerging into the final wrath. This is the reason why Apostle Paul commanded unto the saints of Thessalonians church that was in the midst of tribulation because of preaching the gospel saying,

“Rejoice evermore.

Pray without ceasing.

In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Quench not the Spirit.”(1Thes. 5:16-19)

       In the main passage, Apostle Paul testifies of the blessing that is given unto Christians during the life as the strangers and pilgrims in this world, as he was blesses. We have the same Spirit of God as his; and also the same Spirit that was in Jesus Christ that has the resurrection power as it rose Jesus from the dead. Whenever we have access by faith into this grace, all of us can have these blessings. As the power of God worked in Christ unto the resurrection from the dead, we shall overcome the world with the power of resurrection when we walk in faith. Every man that has the hope in the day of Christ purifies himself, even as he is pure. Amen Hallelujah!
