금주의 묵상: 시편 65:1-13

본문: 사도행전 16:14-40

제목: 영적 전쟁에서 승리를 주는 무기들

        옛날 에녹은 65세에 므두셀라를 닣았고 므두셀라를 낳은 후 삼백 년을 하나님과 동행하며 아들들과 딸들을 낳았으며 하나님께서 그를 데려가셨다고 성경은 말씀하십니다 (창 5:21-24) 에녹은 죽음을 보지 않고 하늘로 옮기워진 첫 사람이 되었습니다. 그는 그리스도께서 그의 신부를 하늘로 데려가시기 위하여 공중에 나타나실 그리스도의 날에 살아있다가 눈깜짝하는 순간에 죽지 않고 썩지 않는 몸으로 변화되어 공중으로 올라가서 주님과 만날 그리스도인들의 모형인 것입니다 (살전 4:16-18, 고전 15:51-54)

       하나님의 자녀요 그리스도의 신부인 하나님의 교회는 그리스도의 날에 받을 영광과 천년왕국에서 누릴 유업과 새예루살렘에서 그리스도와 영원히 함께 하며 만물의 충만케 하시는 주님과 함께하는 공동상속자로서의 영광스런 소망이 있습니다.  그러나 그분께서 오실 때까지 아직도 이 험한 죄악 세상을 살아가야 하는 일들이 당장 눈 앞에 놓여 있습니다. 그러므로 우리는 사도 바울의 고백처럼 이 세상에서 육신의 삶을 사는 동안에 선한 싸움을 싸우고 달려갈 길을 마치고 믿음을 지킴으로써 그리스도께서 예비하고 계신 면류관을 받는 순간까지 영적 싸움에서 승리해야 하는 것입니다. 또한 이 영적 싸움에서 승리하는 유일한 길은 에녹처럼 이 땅에 계시는 성령 하나님과 동행하는 것입니다. 승리하는 자만이 생명이신 그리스도께서 나타나실 때 그와 함께 영광 가운데 나타나게 될 것입니다 (골 3:1-4).

        사도 바울은 모든 그리스도인들에게 하나님의 전신갑옷을 입으라고 강권했습니다. 다시 말해서 성령 하나님께서 친히 기록해 놓으신 하나님의 약속의 말씀으로 무장할 때 하나님과 동행함으로써 영적 싸움에서 이길 수 있다는 진리를 증거한 것입니다. 사도 바울 자신이 먼저 솔선수범하여 말씀으로 무장하였으며 오늘 본문을 통하여 그가 어떻게 말씀 안에 있는 소망을 붙들고 영적 싸움에서 승리하였는지에 대하여 우리들에게 간증하고 있는 것입니다.

      그가 실라와 함께 영적 싸움에서 믿음을 지키며 하나님과 동행할 수 있었던 두 가지에 대하여 우리에게 증거하고 있습니다.

첫째는 기도, 둘째는 찬송입니다. 그런데 그들이 기도하고 찬송했던 곳은 집이나 어떤 편한 장소가 아니었습니다. 그들은 심히 두들겨맞고 옷이 찟기고 온 몸에 피투성이가 되어 감옥에서 차꼬에 발이 묶인채로 있었습니다. 한밤중에 그들이 기도하며 찬송할 때 그들의 목소리가 모든 죄수들에게 들릴 정도로 크게 기도하고 찬송했던 것입니다.

        다윗왕은 앞으로 고난받으실 메시야에 대하여 예언하는 그의 시편 가운데서 “이스라엘의 찬양 가운데 거하시는 오 주여, 주는 거룩하시나이다.”(시 22:3)라고 증거했습니다. 그는 또 다른 시편에서도 “오 하나님이여, 찬양이 시온에서 주를 기다리니 서원이 주께 이행되리이다. 오, 기도를 들으시는 주여, 모든 육체가 주께 나아가리이다.”(시 65:1,2)라고 증거했습니다. 그는 이미 기도와 찬양이 주님의 임재를 부르는 것인 것을 알았던 것입니다. 다윗은 그리스도의 그림자로서 수많은 고난 가운데 생을 보냈으며 그 가운데서 그가 하나님께 드렸던 많은 기도와 찬양이 성령께서 인도하신 하나님의 말씀이 되었던 것입니다.

        다윗왕이 증거한 것처럼, 찬양이 시온에서 주를 기다린다 하였으니 우리가 찬양할 때에 주님의 임재를 기다릴 수 있다는 것입니다. 바로 찬양은 주의 뜻대로 이루어지이다라고 고백하는 기도이기 때문입니다. 본문에서 바울과 실라는 다윗처럼 찬양의 기도를 드렸습니다. 극심한 박해 속에서도 그들이 하나님의 뜻을 이루시도록 찬양과 기도를 드릴 수 있었던 것은 하나님께서 그들과 동행하시고 있음을 알았기 때문입니다. 하나님께서 성령 안에서 항상 함께 하시는 것을 신뢰할 때에 우리도 모든 어려운 상황 속에서도 찬양의 기도를 드림으로써 하나님의 선하신 뜻이 이루어지는 것을 볼 수 있는 것입니다.

        그들의 기도와 찬양을 받으신 하나님께서는 감옥 속에서도 자신의 뜻을 이루셨던 것입니다. “우리가 하나님의 일들을 하려면 무엇을 해야 되리이까?”(요 6:28)라고 묻는 유대인들의 질문에 “이것이 하나님의 일이니, 즉 그분이 보내신 이를 너희가 믿는 것이라.”(요 6:29)고 대답하신 주님의 말씀처럼 어려운 환경 속에서도 모든 일을 합력해서 선을 이루시는 주님을 믿으며 찬양의 기도를 드릴 때 하나님께서 성령과 능력을 통하여 친히 나타나심으로써 그분의 일을 하시는 것입니다. 그러므로 큰 지진을 일으키시는 분도 바로 하나님이신 것입니다.

        바울과 실라는 감옥 속에서 풀어달라는 기도를 한 것이 아닙니다. 다만 감옥 속에서 주님의 뜻을 이루실 것을 믿고 기도와 찬송을 드렸던 것입니다. 하나님께서는 감옥을 지키는 간수와 그의 가족들을 구원하시기를 원하셨습니다. 사도 바울은 하나님과 동행하는 그의 삶을 통하여 깨달은 진리를 그의 영적인 아들 디모데에게 전했습니다: “하나님께서는 모든 사람이 구원을 받고 진리의 지식에 이르기를 원하시느니라.”(딤전 2:4)고 말입니다.

        하나님께서는 사도 바울을 빌립보 지역으로 보내셔서 제일 먼저 자주 옷감 장사 루디아를 만나게 하시고 그와 그의 가족을 구원하시고 온 집안이 침례를 받게 하심으로써 루디아의 집에 최초로 유럽 지역 선교센타를 세우셨습니다. 그후에는 점치는 영에 사로잡힌 소녀 안에 들어있는 마귀를 쫓아내게 하셨고 그 일을 통하여 바울과 실라를 감옥으로 인도하셔서 간수와 그의 온 기족을 구원하시는 뜻을 이루셨습니다.

        옛날 유다왕 여호사밧왕 때에 모압과 암몬과 세일산 세 민족이 공격해 왔을 때 선지자 아하시엘을 통하여 말씀하셨습니다. “너희는 이 싸움에서 싸울 필요가 없으리라. 오 유다와 예루살렘아, 너희는 전열을 가다듬고 서서 너희와 함께하는 주의 구원을 보라. 두려워 말고 놀라지 말며 내일 그들을 향하여 나가라. 이는 주가 너희와 함께할 것임이라.”(대하 20:17) 또한 여호사밧왕은 말씀에 순종하여 주께 노래하는 자들을 임명하여 군대 앞에서 나갈 때 거룩함의 아름다움을 찬양하여 “주를 찬양하라. 그의 자비는 영원히 지속됨이라.”고 말할 때에 하나님께서세 민족들끼지 서로 죽이게 하여 그들을 진멸하셨습니다.

      모든 시대들을 통하여서도 믿음의 기도와 찬양이야말로 하나님의 사람들이 영적 전쟁에서 이길 수 있는 진정한 무기입니다. 하나님의 일은 우리가 모든 환경 속에서 그 환경을 통해 이루실 하나님의 뜻을 믿음으로써 기도와 찬양을 드릴 때에 하나님께서는 자신의 일을 이루시는 것입니다. 얼마나 감사한 일입니까? 하나님의 일은 하나님께서 하시는 일이지 사람이 하는 일이 아닌 것입니다. 이 진리를 깨달은 사도 바울은 고린도교회 성도들에게 증거했습니다: “형제들아, 내가 너희에게 와서 하나님의 증거를 전할 때에 말과 지혜의 탁월함으로 하지 아니하였노라. 이는 내가 예수 그리스도와 그의 십자가에 못박하심 외에는 너희 가운데서 아무 것도 알지 않기로 작정하였음이라. 내가 너희와 함께 있을 때에 연약함과 두려움과 심한 떨림 가운데 있었노라. 또 내 말과 내 설교를 설득력 있는 인간의 지혜의 말로 하지 않고 성령과 능력을 나타냄으로 하였으니 이는 너희의 믿음이 인간의 지혜에 있게 하지 아니하고 하나님의 능력에 있게 하려 함이라.”(고전 2:1-5) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 65:1-13

Subject: The weapons that give us victory in the spiritual warfare

       Enoch lived sixty and five years, and gave birth to Methuselah: and thereafter Enoch walked with God for three hundred years, and gave birth to sons and daughters. And he was not anymore in the earth, for God took him as testified by the scripture (Gen. 5:21-24). Therefore Enoch became the first man that was translated to heaven without death. He is the model of Christians that shall be alive and shall be translated to immortal and incorruptible body at an twinkle of eye when Christ appears in the air to take his bride to home in heaven (1Thes. 4:16-18, 1Cor. 15:51-54)

      The church of God that are the children of God as well as the bride of Christ has the hope of the glory in the day of Christ; and the inheritance in the Millennium of Jesus Christ as well as of the New Jerusalem where they dwell with Christ as the joint-heir that shall fill all things in all with him. But they are facing with this dangerous and wicked world before them until he come. Therefore, we have to fight good fight unto victory, and finish our course, and keep the faith during the earthly life until we receive the crown prepared by the Lord Jesus Christ. And the only way to have victory in the spiritual warfare is to walk with the Holy Ghost as Enoch did. Only they that have victory shall appear in the glory  with Christ when he, who is our life, shall appear (Col. 3:1-4)

         Apostle Paul urged all the Christians to put on the whole armor of God. In other word, he testified of the truth of the victorious life in the spiritual warfare when they are equipped with the words of promise that are written by the Holy Ghost. Apostle Paul put the whole armor of God for himself first, and he gives us testimony how he could have victory in the spiritual warfare holding the hope in the words of God.

        He testifies of two things through which he and Silas kept faith to be able to walk with God. The first is prayer, and the second is praising. The place where they prayed and sang praises was not any comfortable place, but the jail. They were enforce to put off their clothes, and was beat unto many stripes on their body shedding blood; and they were cast into the inner prison being made their feet fast in the stocks. And they prayed, and sang praises unto God; and their prisoners heard them.

        King David testified of the Messiah to come  and suffer in his psalm: “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”(Ps 22:3) In his other psalm, he also testified of praise: “Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Sion: and unto thee shall the vow be performed. O thou that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all flesh come.”(Ps 65:1,2) He had already known of prayer and praise that call for the presence of the LORD God. King David was the shadow of Christ to come; this is the reason why he had to suffer severely in his life. Many of his prayers and songs unto God actually were written as the words of God inspired by the Holy Ghost.

        As King David testified that praise waits for God in Zion, we also are able to wait for the presence of the Lord when we sing praise unto him. This is because that praise is the prayer for the will of God to be done. In the main passage, Paul and Silas submitted the prayer of praise as David. They knew that God walked with them; their faith made them to pray and praise so that the will of God may be done even in the severe persecution. We also shall be able to see the will of God to be done through pray and praise unto God in the midst of our painful situations, when we trust God in the Holy Ghost.

        Receiving their prayer and praise, God could do his will be done even in the prison. The Jews asked unto Jesus, “What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?”(John 6:28) He answered unto them saying, “This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”(John 6:29)

As his answer, God himself is willing to do his will through the manifestation of the Spirit and power, when we praise the Lord even in troublesome situations trusting the Lord that shall make all things together for good.

        Paul and Silas not prayed unto God to free them from the prison. But they prayed and sang praises trusting in the Lord who shall make his will be done. God wanted to give salvation for the jailer and his family. Apostle Paul testified unto Timothy, his spiritual son of the truth that he understood through his life walking with God saying,

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”(1Tim. 2:4)

        God sent Paul and Silas to Philippi to give divine meeting with a woman named Lydia, a seller of purple; and gave salvation unto her and her family, and baptized them to establish the first mission center at her house in Europe. Thereafter, God made Paul cast out a spirit of divination from a certain damned possessed to led Paul and Silas into the inner prison. Finally God achieved his will to save the jailer and his family.

        In the day of king Jehoshaphat of Judah, God spoke to him through the prophet Jahaziel  when Moab and Ammon and Seir came against him to battle: “Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you.”(2Chron. 20:17)

King Jehoshaphat obeyed the word of God, and appointed singers unto the LORD, and let them praise the beauty of holiness saying his mercy endures forever. Then God made the three nations of people beat completely making them kill one to another.

        In all the generation, prayer and praise are the true weapon for the children of God to win in the spiritual warfare. The work of the God is done by himself when we pray and praise unto the Lord in all circumstances believing on the will of God to be done. What a thanks it is? The work of God shall be done by himself, not by men. Apostle Paul understood this truth, and testified unto the saints of Corinthians:

“And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”(1Cor. 2:1-5) Amen! Hallelujah!
