금주의 묵상: 시편 103:1-22

본문: 고린도후서 5:1-13

제목: 속 사람이 날마다 새로워지고 있는가?

      오래 전에 하나님의 사람 다윗왕은“내 혼아, 주를 송축하라. 내 안에 있는 모든 것들아, 그의 거룩한 이름을 송축하라. 오 내 혼아, 주를 송축하고 그의 모든 베푸심을 잊지 말라. 그는 네 모든 죄악을 용서하시며 네 모든 질명을 치유하시고 너희 생명을 파멸에서 구속하시며 자애와 온유한 자비들로 네게 관을 씌우시고 좋은 것들로 네 입을 흡족케 하시니 네 젊음이 독수리의 젊음같이 새로워지는도다.”(시 103:1-5)라고 증거했습니다. 그는 앞으로 나타나실 메시야이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 죄인들에게 베푸실 은혜에 대하여 미리 증거한 것입니다.

      사도 바울은 고린도교회 성도들에게 “우리가 낙심하지 아니하노라. 오히려 우리의 겉 사람이 썩어질지라도 우리의 속 사람은 날로 새로워지나니 이는 우리가 잠시 받는 가벼운 환난이 우리를 위하여 훨씬 뛰어난 영원한 영광의 비중을 이루어 가기 때문이라. 우리가 바라보는 것은 보이는 것들이 아니요, 보이지 않는 것들이라. 이는 보이는 것은 잠깐 뿐이지만 보이지 않는 것은 영원하기 때문이라.”(고후 4:16-18)고 권면했습니다.

       사도 요한도 자신이 지극히 사랑하는 가이오에게 “내가 진리 안에서 너를 사랑하노라. 사랑하는 자여, 무엇보다도 네 혼이 잘됨같이 네가 번성하고 강건하기를 바라노라. 이는 형제들이 와서 네 안에 있는 진리를 증거하고 네가 진리 안에서 행한다고 하므로 내가 기뻐하였음이라. 나의 자녀들이 진리 안에서 행한다는 것을 듣는 것보다 더 큰 기쁨이 없느니라.”(요삼 1:1-4)고 편지했습니다. 사도 요한은 가이오의 속 사람인 그의혼이 진리 안에서 영적으로 번성하기를 기도했던 것입니다.

       사도 베드로도 진리 안에서 속 사람인 혼이 번성함에 관해서 같은 증거를 했습니다: “너희가 성령을 통하여 진리에 순종함으로써 너의 혼들을 정결케 하여 가식 없는 형제 사랑에 이르렀으니 순결한 마음으로 서로 뜨겁게 사랑하라. 너희가 거듭난 것은 썩어질 씨로 된 것이 아니라 썩지 아니할 씨로 된 것이니 살아 있고 영원히 거하는 하나님의 말씀으로 되었느니라.”(벧전 1:22,23)

        이렇게 하나님의 사람들은 하나님께서 창조하신 살아 있는 혼(living soul)이 사람의 본체임을 증거했으며 혼이 잘되는 것이 진정한 유익이라고 분명하게 증거한 것입니다.

        사도 바울은 본문에서 사람의 육신은 잠간 있다 거두는 장막집같은 것이라고 증거하고 있으며 우리가 여기 땅에서 살면서 고난가운데 신음하면서 바라는 것은 죽을 몸이 죽지 않을 몸을 입고 썩을 몸이 썩지 않을 몸을 입는 그날, 다시 말해서 그리스도께서 공중에 나타나시는 그 날을 바라보는 것이라고 증거하고 있습니다. 죽을 몸이 영원한 생명에 의하여 삼켜지는 그 날을 바라볼 수 있는 것은 우리 안에 있는 성령이라고 증거하면서 성령이 바로 우리에게 주신 약속을 보증하는 것이라고 증거하고 있는 것입니다.

       개인적으로는 우리 각자의 혼이 그리스도께서 나타나실 때에 죽지 않고 썩지 않는 몸을 입는 소망을 가지고 있으며 또한 이 소망을 가진 자들이 천년왕국 끝에 하늘로부터 내려오는 새 예루살렘 도성에 들어가 영원한 집에 함께 사는 소망에 대하여 증거한 것입니다. 사도 요한은 새 예루살렘에 대하여 증거하면서 “나 요한은 거룩한 도성 새 예루살렘에 하나님께로부터 하늘에서 내려오는 것을 보았는데 마치 신부가 자기 남편을 위하여 단장한 것같이 예비되었더라.”(계 21:2) 말했습니다.

       다시 말해서 새 예루살렘은 거듭난 그리스도인들이 모여 있는 회중이 주 예수 그리스도와 정혼한 한 순결한 처녀가 되어 한 몸을 이루어 남편이신 그분과 함꼐 영원한 새 집에서 살게 될 것을 말씀하고 있는 것입니다. 주님께서도 제자들에게 “너희는 마음에 근심하지 말라. 너희가 하나님을 믿으니 또한 나를 믿으라. 내 어버지 집에는 많은 저택들이 있느니라. 그렇지 아니하면 내가 너희에게 말하였으리라. 내가 가서 너희를 위하여 처소를 마련하면 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 내가 있는 그곳에 너희도 있게 하리라.”(요 14:1-3)고 말씀하심으로써 후에 사도 요한에게 미리 보여주신 새 예루살렘에 대하여 미리 말씀하신 것입니다.

        그러므로 사도 바울은 본문에서 이 땅에서 죽을 몸 안에서 살면서 고난 받는 그리스도인들에게 분명하게 증거하는 것은 비록 지금은 물리적으로는 주님과 멀리 떨어져 있지만 항상 자신에 찬 삶을 살라고 격려하면서 “이는 우리가 믿음으로 행하고 보는 것으로 하지 아니함이라.”(고후 5:7)고 증거한 것입니다.

       그러므로 믿음으로 사는 사람은 주님과 만나는 그 날을 바라보면서 살든지 죽든지 그리스도를 기쁘시게 하는 삶을 살아야 한다고 사도 바울은 증거하고 있습니다. 또한 진리 안에서 주님의 약속을 믿으면서 죽음 몸 안에 있는 동안 진리를 행함으로써 그리스도의 심판석 앞에 나아갈 때 상을 받는 그 날을 믿음으로 바라보라고 권면하고 있는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 히브리인들에게 편지 할 때에도 “그러나 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없나니, 하나님께 나아가는 자는 그분이 존재하시는 것과 그분이 자기를 열심히 찾는 자들에게 보상하시는 분이심을 마땅히 믿어야 하느니라.”(히 11:6)고 증거했습니다.

       사도 요한에게 나타나신 주님께서도 “보라, 내가 속히 오리니 내가 줄 상이 내게 있어 각 사람에게 그의 행위에 따라 주리라.”(계 22:12)말씀하신 것입니다. 우리가 받은 구원은 단지 주님을 믿음으로 은혜로 값없이 받은 것이지만 우리 각자가 받을 상은 각자가 몸으로 행한 것에 따라 받는 것입니다. 그러므로 잠간 동안 썩을 몸 안, 즉 육신의 장막 안에 있는 동안 영원한 상을 준비해야 하는 것입니다. 그리스도의 날, 다시 말해서 휴거의 날에 우리 모두는 어린양의 혼인식에 들어가기 전에 먼저 그리스도의 심판석에서 선이든 악이든 우리 몸으로 행한대로 심판을 받아야 하는 것입니다. 금, 은 , 보석으로 지은 것들은 불에 타지 않고 상을 받게 될 것이지만 나무(wood), 짚(hay) 그리고 그루터기(stubble)로 지은 것들은 모두 불에 타서 소멸될 것이라고 사도 바울은 증거했습니다 (고전 3:10-15).

      주님께서는 우리가 받을 상에 대하여 말씀하실 때 우리에게 주신 한 므나(성경)로 장사하여(occupy) 열 므나 남긴 사람에게는 열 고을을 다스리는 상을, 다섯 므나를 남긴 사람에게는 다섯 고을을 다스리는 권세를 주신다고 말씀하셨으며, 아무 것도 남기지 않은 사람에게는 악하고 게으른 종이라고 책망을 하실 것이라고 친히 말씀하신 것입니다(눅 19:11-26). 주님께서는 우리에게 주실 상이 주님과 함께 천년왕국에서 통치하는 통치권이라고 말씀하신 것입니다. 그러므로 그리스도의 심판석에서 선이든지 악이든지 각자가 행한대로 심판을 받는 것에 대하여 사도 바울이 말한 것을 주님께서 구체적으로 우리게 말씀하시고 있는 것입니다.

        아무리 낡고 오래된 집이라도 선한 집주인을 만나게 되면 그 주인처럼 아름답게 수리되고 단장되는 것처럼, 우리가 죄인이었을 때에는 우리 몸을 죄들로 더럽혔지만 이제 그리스도의 피로 씻김받아 속 사람이 거룩하게 되어 주님이 우리 몸의 새 주인이 되셨으니 이제는 우리의 몸도 거룩함 속에서 살아야 하는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 이에 대하여 : “그가 죽음심은 죄에게 단번에 죽으심이요, 그가 사심은 하나님께 사심이라. 이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 정녕 죄에게는 죽은 자요, 예수 그리스도 우리 주로 말미암아 하나님께는 산 자로 여기라. 그러므로 너희는 죄가 너희 죽을 몸 안에서 군림하지 못하게 하여 몸의 정욕 가운데 죄에게 순종하지 말고 다만 너희 지체를 불의의 병기로 죄에게 내어주지 말고 다만 너희 자신을 죽은 자들로부터 살아난 자들처럼 하나님께 드리며 너희 지체를 의의 병기로 하나님께 드리라.”(롬 6:10-13)고 증거한 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 103:1-22

Main scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:1-13

Subject: Is your inward man being renewed day by day?

       Long time ago, King David, a man of God testified saying,

“Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”(Ps 103:1-5)

He testified of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah of Israel that will give grace unto the sinners.

      Apostle Paul encouraged unto the saints of Corinthian church saying, “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”(2Cor. 4:16-18)

       Apostle John also wrote a letter to Gaius to encourage his soul that is his inward man to prosper saying, “The elder unto the wellbeloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”(3John 1:1-4)

        Apostle Peter also gave the same testimony of the prosperity of the inward man in the truth saying,

“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”(1Pet. 1:22,23)

       These men of God had testified of the soul of man that is the real body that was created as living soul by God; and they also testified, the prosperity of soul is the real benefit for man.

       In the main passage, Apostle Paul testifies of the flesh of man is as the earthly house of tabernacle; and we are looking forward the day of Christ groaning and being burdened in suffering when we are to be clothed with incorruptible body as well as immortal one at his appearing in the air. He also testifies of the Spirit that makes us to be able to look forward the day of Ratpure when mortality might be swallowed up of life. He also said, God has given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

       Individually, we have the hope of our own soul to be clothed with immortal and incorruptible body when Christ appears; and we also have the hope to dwell in the New Jerusalem that shall come down from heaven after Millennium of Christ to be our eternal home . Apostle John testified of the New Jerusalem saying, “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”(Rev. 22:2)

        In other word, the New Jerusalem is the eternal dwelling for the bride of Christ that is espoused to one husband that is Christ as a one congregation of body of Christ. Jesus mentioned earlier about the New Jerusalem unto his disciples before he show it unto John saying,

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”(John 14:1-3)

       Therefore, Apostle Paul testified unto the Christians very clearly that are groaning in the mortal body saying, we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. Therefore, he encouraged us saying, “(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”(2Cor. 6:7)

        Therefore, Apostle Paul encourages us to please the Lord whether present or absent looking forward the day when we see the Lord Jesus. He also encourages us to walk in the truth living in the mortal body believing his promised word so that we may be rewarded at the judgment seat of Christ. Apostle Paul testified of faith unto the Hebrews:

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”(Heb. 11:6)

        The Lord Jesus appeared unto John, and spoke of the reward saying, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”(Rev. 22:12)

Our salvation is received by grace through faith freely, but we shall be rewarded according to our own work. This is the reason why we have to prepare the eternal reward while we are in earthly house of this tabernacle that is corruptible body. In the day of Christ that is the day of Rapture, we have to stand at the judgment seat of Christ to receive the things done in individual body, according to that we have done, whether it be good or bad, before we enter the wedding of the Lamb. Only gold, silver and precious stone shall not be burnt to be rewarded, but wood, hay and stubble shall be burnt for no reward, as testified by Apostle Paul (1Cor. 3:10-15).

        Lord Jesus also spoke of the reward that we are going to receive through the parable of pound(mina); someone that gains ten pounds occupying with one pound shall have authority over ten cities. Someone gains five pounds, then he shall have authority over five cities. And someone not gains at all, then he shall be called as wicked servant for no authority over any city (Luke 19:11-26). the parable of pound(mina), Jesus clarified of the reward that we shall receive that is the power of ruling in his Millennium. Therefore, the reward that we shall receive at the judgment seat of Christ whether be good of bad was spoken unto us concretely by Jesus Christ our Lord.

        However house that is old and is warned out is supposed to be repaired and remodeled beautifully, when a good person owns to live; our body was defiled with sins, but now our inward being is washed by the blood of Jesus Christ, and our body is owned by Jesus Christ. From now on, we are supposed to live in holiness. Apostle Paul testified of this:

“For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”(Rom. 6:10-13) Amen! Hallelujah!
