금주의 묵상: 시편 11:1-7

본문: 출애굽기 33:1-14

제목: 주님의 임재 가운데 주시는 쉼

       이스라엘 백성들이 광야에서 다시 이동을 시작할 때에 주께서 모세에게 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 모세에게 이스라엘 백성들을 데리고 자신이 아브라함과 이삭과 야곱에게 맹세하여 “네 씨에게 내가 그것을 주리라.”고 한 땅으로 올라가라고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 그의 천사를 모세 앞에 보내시어 카나안인과 아모리인과 힛인과 프리스인과 히위인과 여부스인을 쫓아내고 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅에 이르게 할 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그러나 하나님 자신은 그들 가운데 함께 하시지 않을 것이라고 말씀하시면서 그 이유에 대하여 “이는 네가 목이 곧은 백성이라, 혹 내가 도중에서 너를 진멸할까 함이라.”고 말씀하셨습니다.

        모세로부터 이 나쁜 소식을 전해 들은 이스라엘 백성들은 슬퍼하며 장신구를 다는 사람이 아무도 없었습니다.  왜냐하면, 그들이 하나님께서 모세에게 하신 말씀을 들었기 때문입니다: “이스라엘 자손에게 말하되 ‘너희는 목이 곧은 백성이라, 혹 내가 잠깐 네 가운데 올라가서 너를 진멸하리라. 그러므로 이제 네 장신구들을 제하라. 그리하면 내가 너에게 무슨 일을 할 것인지를 알리라.'”(출 33:5)

        이 일 후에 모세는 하나님꼐다시 말씀드렀습니다: “내가 주의 목전에서 은혜를 입었으면, 이제 주의 길을 내게 보이시어 나로 주를 알게 하시고 내가 주의 목전에서 은혜를 입게 하소서. 이 민족을 주의 백성으로 생각하소서.”(출 33:13) 이때에 하나님께서 약속의 말씀을 주셨습니다: “나의 임재가 나와 함께 가며 내가 너에게 쉼을 주리라.”(출 33:14) 그들이 회개하면서 모든 장신구들을 제하고 하나님께 나왔을 때 주의 임재가 다시 회복되었던 것입니다.

        하나님께서는 선지자 예레미야를 통하여 그의 백성들에게 쉼을 얻는 길에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다: “‘너희는 길에 서서 보고 옛 길, 그 선한 길이 어디 있는지 물어 그곳으로 걸어가라. 그리하면 너희가 너희 혼들을 위하여 쉼을 얻으리라.’하였으니 그들이 말하기를 ‘우리는 그곳으로 걸어가지 아니하리라.’ 하는도다. 내가 또한 너희 위에 파수꾼들을 세우고 말하기를 ‘나팔 소리에 귀를 기울이라.’ 하였으나 그들이 말하기를 ‘우리는 귀기울이지 않겠노라.’하였느니라.”(렘 6:16,17)

        그렇습니다. 우리의 혼이 구원을 받았고 우리의 영이 거듭났을지라도 우리의 육신은 여전히 광야같은 세상에 살고 있는 것입니다. 육천 년 전부터 마귀는 그의 정사들과 권세들과 세상 어두음의 주관자들과 악한 영들과 통치하는 어두운 세상에 살고 있는 것입니다. 그러므로 우리도 이 땅에 오신 성령님의 임재를 떠나서는 쉼을 누릴 수 없는 것입니다. 성령님께서는 그분께서 영감을 불어넣으신 하나님의 모든 말씀들을 통하여 우리들에게 빛을 비춰주심으로써 우리의 갈 길을 인도하시는 것입니다. 이로 인하여 다윗왕은 “주의 말씀은 내 발에 등불이요, 내 길에 빛이니이다.”(시 119: 105)라고 고백했습니다. 또한 다윗은 그가 하나님의 임재 안에 있음에 대해, “오 주여, 주께서는 나를 살펴보셨으며 또 나를 아셨나이다. 주께서는 나의 앉고 서는 것을 아시며 나의 생각을 멀리서도 이해하시나이다. 주께서는 나의 길과 나의 눕는 것을 샅샅이 아시며 나의 모든 길들을 익히 아시나이다. 보소서, 주께서 모두 아시나니 알지 못하는 내 입의 말은 한 마디도 없나이다. 주께서는 나를 앞뒤에서 감싸셨고 내게 안수하셨나이다.”(시 139:1-5)

        하나님께서는 자신의 백성들과 자녀들을 지키시며 인도하시기 위하여 지금도 쉬지 않고 일하고 계시는 것입니다. 이에 대하여 시편 기자는 “보라, 이스라엘을 지키시는 그는 졸지도 아니하시고 주무시지도 아니하시리라.”(시 121:4)고 증거한 것입니다. 이 땅에 나타나신 주 예수 그리스도께서도 “나의 아버지께서 지금까지 일하시니 나도 일하노라.”(요 5:17)고 말씀하셨습니다. 이 땅에 나타나셔서 쉴 새 없이 일하시던 예수께서는 수고하고 무거운 짐들을 지고 고통받는 사람들에게 “수고하고 무거운 짐진 자들아, 다 내게로 오라. 그러면 내가 너희에게 쉼을 주리라.나는 마음이 온유하고 겸손하니, 내 멍애를 메고 나에게서 배우라. 그리하면 너희가 너희 혼에 쉼을 얻으리라”(마 11:28,29)고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님께서는 지금도 이스라엘 백성들과 그분의 자녀들을 위하여 일하시면서 그들에게 쉼을 주시기를 원하시는 것입니다. 옛날 이스라엘 백성들과 함께 하셨던 하나님께서 지금은 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 세상에 오신 성령님을 통하여 그의 자녀들과 함께 하도록 하셔서 구원받은 혼이 쉼을 얻도록 하시는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 하나님의 자녀들이 이 땅에서 사는 삶에 대하여 “무릇 하나님의 영으로 인도함을 받는 이들은 곧 하나님의 아들들이니라.”(롬 8:14)고 증거했습니다.

         하나님께서는 자신이 계획하신 일, 즉 이 세상에 죄와 사망을 가져온 마귀를 멸하시는 그 일(히 2:14. 요일 3:8)을 이루시고 동시에 자신의 백성들과 자녀들을 구원하셔서 하늘과 땅에 충만하게 하시기 위하여 칠 일(칠천 년)간의 계획을 세우시고 지금도 쉬지 않고 일하고 계시는 것입니다. 이는 마치 하나님께서 육 일 동안 땅에 만물을 만드시고 일곱째 날에 쉬신 것처럼 그의 일곱째 날이 되면 마침내 마귀를 끝없이 깊은 구렁 속으로 쳐넣으시고 그의 천년왕국에서 그의 백성들과 자녀들과 함께 쉬시게 될 것입니다. 이에 대하여 사도 바울은 히브리인들엑 편지할 때 “어느 곳에선가 일곱째 날에 관해서 이렇게 말씀하시기를 ‘하나님께서 일곱째 날에 그의 모든 일에서 쉬셨느니라.’하셨으며 여기에서 다시 ‘그들이 나의 안식에 들어오려면’이라고 말씀하셨느니라. 그러므로 누군가 거기에 들어가야만 하는 일이 남아 있으나 먼저 복음을 들은 자들은 믿음 없음을 인하여 들어가지 못한 것이라. 또다시 오랜 세월 후에 어떤 날을 정하시어, 다윗 안에서 ‘오늘’이라 말씀하셨으니, ‘오늘 너희가 그의 음성을 듣거든 너희 마음을 완악하게 하지 말라.’고 함과 같으니라. 만일 예수가 그들에게 안식을 주었더라면 하나님께서 그후에 다른 날을 말씀하지 아니하셨으리라. 그러므로 하나님의 백성에게 한 안식이 남아 있도다. 그의 안식에 들어간 사람은 하나님께서 자기 일에서 쉬신 것같이 그도 자기 일에서 쉬었느니라. 그러므로 우리가 그 안식에 들어가도록 힘써야 하리니 이는 아무도 똑같은 믿음 없음의 본에 빠지지 않게 하려 함이라”(히 4:4-11)

        사도 바울은 앞으로 대 환란에 들어가서 다시 한 번 광야로 도망해서 예수 그리스도께서 인도하심을 따라 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 가나안 땅인 팔레스타인 땅으로 들어갈 때까지 마음을 완악하게 하지 말고 믿음을 지켜 영원한 안식에 들어가야 함에 대해 히브리인들에게 경고하고 있는 것입니다. 하나님께서는 십계명을 주실 때 안식일을 반드시 지킬 것을 말씀하셨고 이 안식일은 이스라엘 백성과 하나님 사이에 영속하는 언약으로 삼으셨으며 영원한 표적이 되게 하신 것입니다(출 31:16, 레 16:31, 겔 20:12)

하나님께서 이스라엘 백성들에게 이 안식일들을 반드시 지켜야 할 것을 명령하신 것은 이 안식일들은 오랜 후에 하나님께서 다시 한 번 일곱째 날, 즉 일곱째 천 년인 천년왕국에서 안식히실 그 왕국에 들어가야할 일이 이스라엘 백성들에게 남아있기 때문이었습니다.

        한편, 오늘날 유대인이나 이방인이나 누구든지 앞으로 이 땅에 왕국을 세우실 그리스도 예수를 믿기만 하면 모든 죄들을 제거하시고 성령을 주심으로써 하나님의 왕국에 영적으로 들어가게 하셔서  영원한 안식에 지금부터 들어가게 하시는 것입니다. 이에 대하여 사도 바울은 “하나님의 나라(왕국)는 먹고 마시는 것이 아니라 다만 성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨이라.”(롬 14:17)라고 증거한 것입니다. 하나님의 교회는 이 지상에 존재하는 유일한 하나님의 나라(왕국)인 것입니다. 그러므로 거듭난 성도들 사이에는 하늘나라에서의 교제가 이루어져야 하는 것입니다.

       이 성도의 교제에 대하여 사도 요한이 증거했습니다: “그러므로 우리가 그에 관하여 듣고 너희에게 전하는 말이 이것이니, 곧 하나님은 빛이시요, 그분 안에는 어두움이 전혀 없다는 것이라. 만일 우리가 하나님과 교제가 있다 하면서 어두움 가운데 행하면 우리가 거짓말하는 것이며 진리를 행하지 아니하는 것이라. 그러나 그분이 빛 가운데 계신 것같이 우리도 빛 가운데 행하면 우리가 서로 간에 교제가 있게 되고, 그의 아들 예수 그리스도의 피가 우리를 모든 죄에서 깨끗하게 하시느니라. 만일 우리가 우리에게 아무 죄도 없다고 말하면 우리 자신을 속이는 것이요, 진리가 우리 안에 있지 아니하나 우리가 우리 죄들을 자백하면 그는 신실하시고 의로우셔서 우리 죄들을 용서하시며, 모든 불의에서 우리를 깨끗하게 하시느니라. 만일 우리가 죄를 짓지 아니하였다고 말하면 우리는 그분을 거짓말쟁이로 만드는 것이요, 그분의 말씀이 우리 안에 있지  아니하니라.”(요일 1:5-10)

         그렇습니다. 주께서는 땅에 사는 동안에도 성령 안에서 쉼을 주시고 그 쉼은 우리가 육신의 몸을 벗고 주님과 함께 사는 영원한 왕국까지 이어지는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 의로우신 하나님에 대하여 데살로니가교회 성도들에게 증거했습니다: “하나님께서 함께 하시는 의로운 일은 이것이니, 너희에게 고통을 주는 자들에게는 환난으로 갚으시고 고통을 받는 너희에게는 우리와 함께 안식으로 갚아주시는 것이라.”(살후 1:6,7) 사도 요한은 대환란 때에 짐승의 형상에게 경배하고 그의 이름의 표를 받는 자들에 대하여 경고할 때에, 그들은 불과 유황으로 고통을 받으며 밤낮 쉼을 얻지 못하리라고 증거했습니다.”(계 14:10,11) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 11:1-7

Main scripture: Exodus 33:1-14

Subject: REST in the presence of the Lord

        When the journey of the Israel was going to be resumed, the LORD God spoke unto Moses. The LORD God asked Moses to go up unto the land which he swore unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, “Unto thy seed will I give it”. The LORD God said, I will send an angel before him, and he will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite; but he will not go up in the midst of them, saying, “for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.”

        And when the people these  evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments, for they heard, God had spoken unto Moses saying, “Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.”(Ex. 33:5)

        Afterwards, Moses spoke unto the LORD saying, “if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.”(Ex. 33:13) Then the LORD God gave them the word of promise saying, “My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”(Ex. 33:14) When they put off all ornaments with repentance, and came forward unto God, the presence of the LORD was resumed.

        God spoke unto the people of Israel through prophet Jeremiah of the way to have REST: “Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.”(Jer. 6:16,17)

        Yea! Even though our soul is saved, and our spirit is born again, our body is still living in the world as the wilderness. This world has been ruled by the devil for six thousand years through his principalities, powers, the rulers of darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore, it is impossible for us to have REST without the presence of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is shining the light unto us through all the words of God inspired by God to lead our way to go. King David testified of this truth saying, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”(Ps. 119:105)

King David testified of himself in the presence of God saying,

“O Lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.”(Ps. 139:1-5)

        God is still working to keep his people as well as his children, and guide them also. A psalmist testified of this saying, “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.”(Ps. 121:4)

Even Jesus Christ also testified of his work in the earth saying, “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”(John 5:17)

Jesus spoke unto them that labor with heavy burden of REST saying,

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”(Matt. 11:28,29) God still is working for his people and his children to give them REST.

 The LORD God of Israel wants to give REST unto the children of God to have REST through the Holy Ghost that came in the name of Jesus Christ for their soul. Apostle Paul testified of the life of the children of God living in the earth saying, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” (Rom. 8:14)

        God had made a plan to destroy the devil (Heb. 2:14, 1John 3:8) that brought sin and death to the earth; and his plan shall be continued for seven thousand years until he saves his people as well as his children to make them be filled in heavens and earth; he is still working for his plan without REST. Ad God made all things in the earth, and rested in the seventh day, he will cast the devil into the bottomless pit when his seventh day(seventh thousand years) comes; and he will REST in the Millennium with his people and his children. Apostle Paul wrote unto the Hebrews of this saying,

       “For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.

There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”(Heb. 4:4-11)

        Apostle Paul is warning unto the Hebrews not harden their heart, but keep their faith until they enter the promised land flowing with milk and honey to have eternal REST, when they flee to the wilderness following Yeshua Messiah in the Great Tribulation to come. God commanded them to keep Sabbath Day; God made the Sabbath as the eternal covenant between God and them as well as eternal sign for them (Ex. 31:16, Lev. 16:31, EZ. 20:12).

 God commanded them to keep the Sabbath Day, for  there shall be another day for them to enter the Millennium that is the seventh thousand years in the future.

          But now, God is willing to give eternal REST unto whomsoever whether the Jew or Gentiles that believe on Christ Jesus that will build his kingdom in the earth through taking away all transgressions, and giving them the Spirit. Apostle Paul testified of the REST in the kingdom of God saying, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”(Rom. 14:17) The church of God is the only one kingdom of God in this earth. Therefore, the fellowship of heaven should be made among born again Christians.

        Of this fellowship of the saints, Apostle John testified:

“This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”(1John 1:5-10)

        Yea! Our Lord gives us REST in the Spirit, and the REST shall be continued until we enter the eternal kingdom of God when we put off our body of flesh. Apostle Paul testified of the righteous God unto the saints of Thessalonians church: “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,”(2Thes. 1:6,7)

Apostle John waned unto them that worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receives the mark of his name saying, they shall be tormented with fire and brimstone with no REST day nor night (Rev. 14:10,11) Amen! hallelujah!
