금주의 묵상: 시편 42:1-11

본문: 요한복음 5:39-47

제목: 성경말씀 안에서 그리스도 예수를 만났는가?

       범죄한 이스라엘을 향하여 선지자들을 통하여 회개를 촉구하셨던 하나님께서 이스라엘 땅에 사람으로 나타나셔서 하신 말씀입니다. 그들에게 주신 모세의 율법과 선지서들과 시편의 말씀들이 영생의 말씀인 것과 그 모든 말씀들은 예수님 자신에 관하여 증거한 것이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그러므로 영생을 얻기 위하여 성경을 자세하게 살펴보라고 말씀하신 것입니다. 그러나 그들은 말씀을 상고하지 않았고 그들 앞에 나타나신 예수님이 누구신지 알 수 없었으며 영원한 생명을 얻을 수도 없었던 것입니다.

       또한 그들이 성경을 읽지 않았던 것은 그들 안에 하나님을 사랑함이 없기 때문이라고 주님께서 말씀하셨습니다. 그들은 그리스도를 알아보지도, 알려고 하지도 않았기 때문에 영적으로 무지하게 되어 앞으로 그리스도를 흉내내어 나타날 적그리스도를 영접하게 될 것이라고 주님께서 말씀하셨습니다: “내가 내 아버지의 이름으로 왔으나 너희가 나를 영접하지 아니하는도다. 만일 다른 자가 자기 이름으로 오면 너희는 그를 영접하리라.”(요 5:43)

       그들은 모세를 하나님보다 더 믿고 있었으며 지금도 유대인들은 하나님이신 예수님을 믿지 않고 오히려 모세를 믿고 있는 것입니다. 그들은 하나님께서 모세를 통하여 주신 토라(모세오경)는 믿으면서도 토라 속에서 모세가 증거한 예수님을 믿지 않고 있는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 그들은 하나님보다 사람을 경배하였으며 지금도 그렇게 하고 있는 것입니다. 마찬가지로 오늘날 많은 교회에 다니는 사람들도 말씀 안에 있는 예수 그리스도를 믿는 것보다 종교지도자들의 말을 더 신뢰하는 라오디게아 교회로 전락하게 된 것입니다.

       예수 그리스도께서 부활하신 후 주님의 부활을 의심하여 믿지 못하고 죽으신지 사흘이 지났을 때 슬픔에 잠겨 엠마오로 가면서 말을 주고받는 두 제자를 만나시어 그들에게 말씀하시기를, “ ‘어리석은 자들아, 선지자들이 말한 모든 것을 마음에 더디 믿는 자들아, 그리스도가 이러한 고난을 당하고서 그의 영광에 들어가는 것이 당연하지 않느냐?’” 하시며 모세와 선지자들로부터 시작하여 자신에 관하여 모든 성경에 있는 것들을 그들에게 설명하셨습니다. 마침내 부활하신 주님께서 그들과 함께 식사하러 앉으셨을 때에 빵을 가지고 축복하신 후, 그들에게 떼어 주셨을 때에 그들의 눈이 열려 주님을 알아보자 주님께서 그들의 시야에서 사라지셨습니다.(눅 24:13-31)

        그후에 열한 제자들에게 나타나셔서 놀라고 있는 제자들에게 자신의 손과 발을 보여주시면서 만져보라고 말씀하시고  “영은 살과 뼈가 없지만 나는 있느니라.”고 말씀하셨습니다. 그후에 주님께서는 그들이 구운 생선 한 토막과 벌집을 드시면서 말씀하셨습니다: “이런 것이 내가 너희와 함께 있을 때 말했던 바 모세의 율법과 선지서들과 시편에 나에 관하여 기록된 모든 것이 이루어져야 한다던 그 말이니라.”(눅 24:44)고 말씀하시고 그들의 지각을 열어 성경을 깨닫게 하셨습니다. 또한 성경에 자신에 관하여 기록된 내용에 대하여 “그리스도가 고난을 당하는 것과 죽은 자들로부터 셋째 날에 살아나는 것이 기록되었으며, 또 그렇게 되어야 마땅하니라. 예루살렘에서 시작하여 모든 민족 가운데 그의 이름으로 회개와 죄사함이 선포되어야 하리라. 너희가 이런 일의 증인이니라.”(눅 24:46-48)고 말씀하셨습니다.

       예수 그리스도의 이름으로 오신 성령께서 사도 바울을 통하여 목회자 디모데에게 말씀하셨습니다: “하나님께서는 모든 사람이 구원을 받고 진리의 지식에 이르기를 원하시느니라.”(딤전 2:4) 예수께서는 “나는 길이요 진리요 생명이라. 나로 말미암지 않고는 아버지께로 올 사람이 아무도 없느니라.”(요 14:6)고 말씀하심으로써 자신이 진리 자체이심을 말씀하셨습니다. 그러므로 진리의 지식은 다른 말로 표현한다면 예수 그리스도에 대한 지식인 것입니다. 성육신하신 예수님께서 유대인들에게 그 당시 구약성경 말씀이 자신에 관하여 증거한 것이라고 말씀하신 것처럼, 성령께서도 동일한 말씀을 하신 것입니다.

       당시 유대인들이 성경을 상고해야만 그들 앞에 나타나신 메시야이신 예수 그리스도를 만나 영생을 얻을 수 있었던 것처럼 오늘날도 신구약 성경을 통하여 예수 그리스도를 만나 그분을 믿음으로써 구원을 받아야 하는 것입니다. 또한 하나님의 말씀을 자세하게 상고함으로써 성령을 통하여 예수 그리스도에 대한 모든 진리들을 깨닫고 앞으로 일어날 일들에 대하여 자세하게 알아야 하는 것입니다. 옛날 유대인들이 성경을 상고하지 않아서 그들 앞에 계신 메시야이신 예수 그리스도를 알아보지 못하고 결국은 후에 적그리스도를 만나 고통을 당하는 운명에 처해진 것처럼, 오늘날 기독교인들 역시 영원한 생명을 얻기 위하여 성경을 자세하게 상고하지 않으면 참 그리스도이신 에수님을 만날 수 없게 되는 것입니다.  예수님 당시에 유대인들이 종교지도자들의 말을 믿고 예수님을 배척하여 구원을 받지 못했던 것처럼 오늘날에도 교회 종교지도자들의 말을 하나님의 말씀보다 더 신뢰함으로써 다른 예수를 믿고 다른 영을 받고 다른 복음을 받아들임으로써(고후 11:4) 구원도 받지 못하고 진리의 지식도 알지 못하는 동일한 일이 동일한 마귀의 역사를 통해 일어나고 있는 것입니다.

       오늘날 우리에게 주신 성경은 구약 성경뿐만 아니라 복음서와 서신서들과 요한계시록에 이르기까지 진리이신 예수 그리스도께서 앞으로 아루실 모든 일들이 상세하게 기록되어 있는 것입니다. 구약성경을 자세하게 살펴 읽지 않았던 유대인들이 초림하신 예수님을 알아보지 못하여 구원의 기회를 영원토록 잃어버린 것처럼, 오늘날 마지막 때에 살고 있는 소위 기독교인들이 하나님의 모든 말씀, 다시 말해서 모세오경, 선지서들, 시편들이 있는 구약성경과 요한계시록이 이르기까지 모든 신약성경을 상고하지 않으면 앞으로 진리이신 예수 그리스도께서 하늘과 땅에 이루실 일들에 대하여 무지하게 되는 것입니다. 또한 사단의 영의 역사를 통하여 다른 예수를 믿어 영원토록 구원을 받지 못하게 하고, 또한 구원받은 자들 마져도 하나님의 왕국에서 진리이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 주실 유업을 영원토록 잃어버리게 되는 것입니다.

     진리이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 친히 하신 말씀 가운데 아주 중요한 말씀 한 가지를 기억해야 할 것입니다: “그러나 진리의 영이신 그분이 오시면 너희를 모든 진리로 인도하시리라. 그분은 스스로 말씀하지 아니하시며, 무엇이나 들은 것을 말씀하실 것이요, 또 너희에게 다가올  일들을 알려주시리라.”(요 16:13)

그렇습니다. 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 이 땅에 오신 성령께서는 하나님의 사람들을 통하여 자신이 기록하신 모든 성경말씀을 통하여 진리이신 예수님이 어떤 분이신지, 그리고 그분을 통하여 하늘과 땅에 이루실 모든 일들에 대하여 자세하게 사람들이 알아들을 수 있는 언어들로 세밀하게 기록해 놓으셨습니다. 그러므로 오늘날 성경을 상고하지 않으면 영원토록 슬퍼하며 가슴을 치게 되는 일들이 올 수 있다는 사실을 기억하면서 성경말씀 모두를 한 구절 한 구절씩 상고하면서 마음 판에 새겨야 하는 것입니다. 우리의 영원한 운명을 좌우할 하나님의 말씀이기 때문입니다. 우리 자신이 우리의 영원한 운명을 스스로 방치하지 말고 축복된 길로 인도해야 하는 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 42:1-11

Main scripture: John 5:39-47

Subject: have you met with Christ Jesus in the scriptures?

       The LORD God had urged repentance unto the people of Israel for their sins through his prophets; and he was manifested in flesh, and spoke unto them again in the main passage. He testified of himself that was testified through Moses law, prophets and psalms that are the words of eternal life. Therefore, he asked unto the Jew to search the scriptures to have eternal life. But they did not search the scriptures so that they couldn’t understand who Jesus is, even though they stood before him; and they missed the opportunity to receive life.

       Of the reason why they not searched the scriptures, they have not the love of God within them, saith by Jesus. They neither understand Christ, not tried to understand him at all. And they became to be ignorant spiritually; and Jesus said unto them, they shall receive Anti-Christ that is false Christ that shall disguise himself as Christ:

“I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.”(John 5:43)

        They trusted in Moses more that God; even nowadays, Jews not believe in Jesus that is God, but rather they believe in Moses. Even though they trust in Torah (five books written by Moses) that was given by God through Moses; but they not believe in Jesus Christ that was testified by Moses. In other word, they have worshipped man instead of God, and even now doing same thing. Even the churches of God have been fallen unto the church of Laodicea; even modern Christians tend to trust in the words of religious leaders rather than thrusting in Jesus Christ.

        Jesus met with two disciples that were going to a village  called Emmaus with sorrow doubting about the resurrection of Jesus after third day from his death; they were talking each other. Jesus said unto them.  “O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?”(Luke 24:25,26)

Beginning at Moses and all the prophets, Jesus expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. When it came to pass as Jesus sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened , and they knew him: and Jesus vanished out of their sight. (Luke 24:13-31)

       Afterwards, Jesus appeared to the disciples, and he showed his hands and feet for them to touch them while they were surprised for his presence. Jesus said unto them, “a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.” And he continued to say unto them, “These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”((Luke 24:44)

And Jesus opened their understanding, and said unto them,

“Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

And ye are witnesses of these things.”(Luke 24:46-48)

         The Holy Ghost that came in the name of Jesus Christ spoke unto Timothy through Apostle Paul:

“Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”(1Tim. 2:4)

Of truth, Jesus testified of himself as the truth saying,

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”(John 14:6)

Therefore, in other word,  the knowledge of truth is the knowledge of Jesus Christ. As Jesus, incarnated God in flesh testified of the Old Testaments of himself, the Holy Ghost testifies in the same manner.

       As the Jews was able to see the Lord Jesus, their Messiah, and receive life only through searching the scriptures, even nowadays, Christ Jesus can be met through the scriptures for salvation. And through searching the scriptures, we have to come unto the knowledge of truth in the Spirit through searching all the scriptures, and to know the things to happen before us. As the Jews failed to search the scriptures so that they couldn’t see Jesus as their Messiah to be destined to receive the Anti-Christ, even so called Christians also shall miss the opportunity see Christ Jesus as well unless they fail to search the scriptures. As the Jews rejected Jesus as their Messiah upon listening to their religious leaders, same thing is happening through the work of the Devil for them to believe in different Jesus, and different spirit and different gospel(2Cor. 11:4)  so that they not receive the salvation as well as the knowledge of the truth.

       The word of God given unto us includes not only Old testament, but also the books of gospel, the epistles of the apostle including the book of Revelation to show us all things to be fulfilled by the Lord Jesus Christ that is the truth in the future. As the Jews, failed to see the Lord Jesus so that they lost their salvation, even the Christians living in the last days shall be ignorant of the things that are to be done by the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven and earth, unless they fail to search the scriptures including Moses law and prophets and psalms in the Old Testament as well as all the New Testament unto Revelation. Even through the work of the Devil, they are in danger of their soul lost; and even born again Christians may lose their eternal inheritance in the kingdom of God.

       We have to remember a very important word spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ; “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.”(John 16:13)

Yea! The Holy Ghost that came to the earth in the name of Jesus Christ has written in the scriptures in details using man’s languages through men of God about who Jesus is, and all things to be done through him in heaven and earth. Therefore, we have to remember ourselves the day could come before us to be grieve forever beating our heart unless we search the scriptures now; this is the reason why we have to engrave the word of God one verse by one verse. The scriptures are to decide our eternal destiny; therefore we have to lead  our destiny as the eternal blessing for ourselves, not abandoning it. Amen! Hallelujah!
