금주의 묵상: 시편 51:1-19

본문: 요한복음 16:7-11

제목: 왜, 주 예수 그리스도를 믿지 않는 것이 죄(罪)인가?

       하나님께서 사람을 만드시고 에덴 동산에 두시며 만물을 다스리고 땅에 충만하라고 말씀하신 후에 한 가지 법을 주셨습니다: “동산의 모든 나무에서 나는 것을 네가 마음대로 먹을 수 있으나 선과 악의 지식의 나무에서 나는 것을 먹지 말라.”(창 2:16,17)

결국 그들은 하나님께서 금하신 나무의 열매를 먹고 하나님께 죄를 지어 그 댓가로 에덴에서 쫓겨나게 되었습니다.

      그후부터 하나님께서 아브라함을 부르시고 그의 손자인 야곱, 즉 이스라엘의 자손들을 자신의 백성으로 택하신 후 모세를 통하여 율법을 주시기까지 이천 오백 여년 동안 하나님께서는 이 세상 사람들에게 어떤 법도 주시지 않았습니다. 하나님의 법이 없이 천 여 년을 살았던 사람들은 노아 시대에 와서 하나님께서 보실 때, 사람의 사악함이 세상에 창대해짐과 그 마음의 생각의 모든 상상이 계속해서 악할 뿐임을 보시게 되었습니다. 그 일이 하나님의 마음을 비통케 함으로써 결국 하나님의 눈에서 은혜를 찾앗던 유일한 사람인 노아를 부르시고 120년 동안 방주를 준비하게 하시고 그의 가족들과 방주에 들어온 짐승들과 기는 것들과 공중의 새들을 제외한 모든 사람들과 생물들을 지면에서 물로 쓸어버리셨습니다 (창 6:5-13).

      하나님께서 법을 주시기 전에 어떻게 하나님께서 정죄하여 심판하실 수 있었는가에 대하여 사도 바울은 성령 안에서 증거했습니다: “율법이 없는 이방인들이 본성으로 율법에 있는 일들을 행할 때에는 율법이 없어도 이것들이 스스로에게 율법이 되나니 그들의 양심도 증거하고 그들의 이성이 송사하거나 서로 변명하여 그들의 마음에 기록된 율법의 행위를 보여주시느니라. 이런 일은 하나님께서 나의 복음대로 예수 그리스도를 통하여 사람들의 은밀한 것들을 심판하실 그 날에 있으리라.”(롬 2:14-16)

          비록 이천 오백 여 년간 율법이 없었지만 하나님께서는 사람들의 혼이 첫 사람의 죄로 인해 파멸 가운데 있었지만 그들의 혼 속에 남아 있는 양심과 이성으로 스스로 마음의 생각과 상상에 따른 행위들이 옳고 그른지 판단할 수 있다고 여기셨기 때문에 천년왕국이 끝난 후 마지막 백보좌 심판대에서 그들의 행위대로 심판하시기로 작정하신 것입니다(계 20:11-15).

        또한 성령께서는 사도 베드로를 통하여 노아 시대에 물로 심판 받아 죽었던 사람들에 대하여 “그(예수 그리스도)가 성령으로 감옥에 있는 영들에게로 가서 전파하셨으니 그들은 전에 노아의 날에 방주를 예비하는 동안 하나님께서 오래 참고(120년) 기다리셨을 때 순종하지 아니하던 자들이라. 방주에서 물로 말미암아 구원받은 사람이 몇 명뿐이니 곧 여덟 혼들이라.”(벧전 3:19,20)고 증거했습니다.

사도 베드로는 그 당시 하나님께서 오래 참으시던 120년 동안 노아가 방주를 지으면서 사람들에게 회개를 촉구하는 메세지를 전했다고 증거했습니다: “또 옛 세상을 아끼지 아니하셨으나 여덟 번째 사람인 의의 전파자 노아는 구원하시고 경건치 않은 자들의 세상에 홍수를 내리셨느니라.”(벧후 2:5)

        하나님께서는 노아에게 주신 언약 아래서 사람들이 다시 번성하게 하셨으나 그들이 한 언어를 사용하는 점을 이용하여 온 지면에 충만하라는 하나님의 말씀을 외면하고 시날 땅에 탑을 쌓고 지면에 흩어지지 말자고 연합하게 되었을 때 하나님께서 내려오셔서 언어를 혼란시켜 그들이 도성을 짓는 것을 그치게 하셨던 것입니다. 그때 하나님께서 그들을 온 지면에 멀리 흩으셨습니다 (창 11;1-9)

        하나님께서는 첫 사람의 죄로 인해 모든 사람이 죄 가운데 태어날 수밖에 없음을 아시고 여인의 씨가 뱀(마귀)의 머리를 부술 것이라고 미리 선포하셨습니다(창 3;15). 다시 말해서 이 세상에 죄와 사망을 가져온 마귀를 없애버리시지 않으면 이 세상은 영원토록 죄와 사망과 심판의 연속이 될 수밖에 없음을 아시고 마귀를 멸하시기로 작정하셨던 것입니다. 사도 바울은 이에 대하여 성령 안에서 증거했습니다: “이런 연유로 한 사람에 의하여 죄가 세상에 들어오고 그 죄에 의하여 사망이 왔으니 그리하여 모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 사망이 모든 사람에게 전달되었느니라. 율법이 있기 전에도 죄가 세상에 있었으나 죄를 죄로 여기지 아니하였느니라. 그러나 아담으로부터 모세까지 아담의 범죄와 같은 죄를 짓지 아니한 자들 위에도 사망이 군림하였으니 아담은 오실 자의 모형이라.”(롬 5:12-

다시 말해서 아담의 모형으로 이 세상에 나타나실 에수 그리스도께서 여인의 씨로 오셔서 죄와 사망의 문제를 해결하시지 않고서는 이 세상은 소망이 없음에 대하여 증거한 것입니다.

      마침내 하나님께서는 죄와 사망의 문제를 해결하실 여인의 씨로 하나님께서 사람으로 나타나시는 일을 시작하시기 위하여 아브람을 부르셨습니다. 그리고 그에게 언약의 말씀을 주셨습니다: “너를 축복하는 자들에게 내가 복을 주고 너를 저주하는 자를 저주하리라. 네 안에서 땅의 모든 족속들이 복을 받을 것이라.”(창 12:3) 하나님께서는 앞으로 아브람의 자손으로 세상에 나타나실 그리스도 예수에 대하여 말씀하신 것이며 “네 안에서“라는 말씀은 누구든지 그리스도 예수를 믿는 사람들을 축복하시겠다는 약속의 말씀을 주신 것입니다. 그분 인에서 주시는 복은 썩지 않고 죽지 않는 영원한 생명의 약속이었던 것입니다.

        사도 바울은 성령 안에서 이 복에 대하여 증거했습니다: “이는 아브라함의 복이 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 이방인들에게 미치게 함이며 또 우리로 하여금 믿음으로 말미암아 성령의 약속을 받게 하려는 것이라….이제 그 약속은 아브라함과 그의 씨에게 하신 것인데 많흔 사람을 가리켜 씨들이라고 말씀하지 아니하시고 한 사람을 가리켜 너릐 씨라고 말씀하셨으니 그는 그리스도시라.”(갈 3:14,16)

        아브라함의 씨를 통하여 영원한 생명을 약속하신 하나님께서 430년 후에 모세를 부르시고 하나님의 백성들이 지킬 수 없는 십게명과 규례들과 계명들과 법규들을 주셨습니다. 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들이 아브라함의 약속을 받기 위해서는 자신들이 울법을 지킬 수 없으며 율법의 어김을 통하여 죄인임을 먼저 깨닫기를 원하셨던 것입니다. 사도 바울은 율법과 아브라함에게 주신 약속과의 관계에 대하여 성령 안에서 증거했습니다: “형제들아, 사람의 관례대로 말하노니 사람의 언약일지라도 확정되고 나면 아무도 폐기하거나 덧붙이지 못하느니라…..이제 내가 말하노니 하나님께서 그리스도(아브라함의 씨) 안에서 미리 확정하신 언약을 사백삼십 년 후에 생긴 율법이 폐기시킬 수 없으며 그 약속을 무효화할 수 없느니라. 만일 그 상속이 율법에 의하여 된 것이라면 더 이상 약속에 의하여 된 것이 아니니라. 그러나 하나님께서는 그것을 아브라함에게 약속을 통하여 주신 것이라.”(갈 3:15,17,18)

      또한 사도 바울은 성령을 통한 영원한 생명의 복의 약속을 주신 후에 지키지 못할 율법을 주신 하나님의 의도에 대하여 증거했습니다: “그러면 어찌하여 율법을 섬기느냐? 그것은 범법함 때문에 더해진 것이니, 약속 받은 그 씨(예수그리스도)가 오실 때까지라. 그것은 한 중보자의 손에서 천사들을 통하여 제정된 것이라….그렇다면 율법이 하나님의 약속들을 거스르는 것이냐? 결코 그럴 수 없느니라. 만일 율법이 생명을 부여할 수 있는 것이었다면 진실로 의도 율법에 의하여 되었을 것이라. 그러나 성경은 모든 것이 죄 아래 있다고 단정하였으니 이는 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암는 약속을 믿는 사람에게 주려는 것이라.”(갈 3:19,21,22)

      마침내 아브라함의 씨로 하나님께서 예수라는 이름으로 세상에 나타나셨습니다. 침례인 요한은 아브라함의 씨로 나타나신 예수 그리스도를 세상에 알리기 위하여 보내심을 받은 선지자였습니다. 에수께서 그 앞에 나타나셨을 때 그는 유대인들을 향하여 외쳤습니다: “보라, 세상 죄를 제거하는 하나님의 어린양이라.”(요 1:29)

그렇습니다! 아브라함에게 약속하신 여인의 씨가 마침내 아브라함에게 언약을 주신 후 이천 년이 지난 어느날 세상에 나타나신 것입니다. 지금 이 순간에도 하나님의 어린양이신 예수 그리스도는 기록된 말씀에 의하여 온 세상에 여전히 알려지고 있는 것입니다. 그분께서 이 세상의 모든 죄들을 말끔히 제거하시지 않고서는 하나님께서 주시는 영원한 생명의 복을 어느누구도 받을 수 없는 것입니다.

        아브라함에게 영원한 생명의 축복의 약속을 주신 하나님께서는 죄 때문에 자신의 아들을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내 그 육신에 죄를 선고하심으로써 아들을 믿는 자들 안에서 율법의 의가 이루어지게 하시기 위하여(롬 8:3,4) 모든 세상 죄를 아들의 몸에 전가시키셔서 십자가에서 죽게 하신 것입니다. 죄뿐만 아니라 죄로 인한 저주(갈 3:13)와 수치(히 12:2)까지도 모두 그분의 몸에 전가시키셔서 죽게 하신 것입니다. 이천 년 전에 모든 세상 죄는 이미 제거되었습니다. 그러므로 하나님의 아들을 통한 영원한 생명의 약속을 믿는 사람에게만 그 약속이 유효한 것입니다. 사도 바울은 이 축복에 대하여 “예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 말미암는 약속을 믿는 사람에게 주려는 것“(갈 3:22)이라고 증거한 것입니다.

          이런 연유로 예수께서는 자신이 우리의 죄들로 인해 죽으시고 장사되셨다가 셋째 날에 살아나셨습니다. 그분은 한 번의 속죄제를 영원히 드린 후 하나님의 오른 편에 앉으셨습니다(히 10:12). 그분께서 자신의 이름으로 이 땅에 나타나셔서 자신의 구속사역을 증거하실 성령께서 이 세상을 책망하실 것을 말씀하셨습니다: “죄에 대하여라 함은 그들이 나(예수)를 믿지 않기 때문이요, 의에 대하여라 함은 내가 아버지께 가므로 너희가 나를 다시 보지 못하기 때문이며 또 심판에 대하여라 함은 이 세상 통치자(뱀, 마귀)가 심판을 받기 때문이라.”(요 16:9-11) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 51:1-19

Main scripture: John 16:7-11

Subject: Why, not believing on the Lord Jesus Christ is sin?

     After God made a man so that he may multiply and subdue all things in the Mount Eden, he gave a law for him to keep saying, “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”(Gen. 2:16,17)

        Since then, God had never given any other law for two thousand and five hundred years until he called Abram, and the people of Israel to choose his people, and he gave law through Moses. Without the law of God men had lived thousand years until Noah appeared, God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. It grieved him at his heart. Finally, God called Noah that was only man that found grace in the eyes of the LORD; and asked him to build an ark for 120 years. Afterwards, God destroyed men whom he had created as well as beasts, and the creeping things, and the fowls of the air except the family of Noah and the creatures that enter the ark as God commanded.

        Apostle Paul testified of the judgment of God how he could condemn men to judgment before he gave the law unto them: “For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”(Rom. 2:14-16)

       Even though the law of God had not been given unto the world for two thousand and five hundred years, God considered that man could discern their every imagination of the thoughts of the heart whether good or bad through their conscience and reason that are even under destruction of their soul because of the sin of the first man. Therefore, God planned to judge them at the final judgment seat of white throne of God according to their works after the Millennium of Christ (Rev. 20:11-15)

       And the Holy Ghost testified of them that were judged by the water through Apostle Peter saying, “By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.”(1Pet. 3:19,20)

Apostle Peter testified of Noah that preached the message of repentance unto men for 120 years in the midst of building the ark:

“And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;”(2Pet. 2:5)

       God multiplied men under the covenant given unto Noah. But they were not willing to obey God asking them to scatter to the earth to be filled in the earth taking the benefit of the same language that they used. And they built a city and a tower to reach unto heaven. Finally God went down the them, and confound their language to stop them to build the city and the tower, and scattered them unto the face of all the earth (Gen. 11:1-9)

       Knowing all men are going to be born in the midst of sin because of the sin of the first man, God proclaimed that the seed of woman shall bruise the head of the serpent that is the devil (Gen. 3:15). In other word, God planned to destroy the devil knowing that this world shall be under sin and death and the judgment forever unless he destroy the devil that brought forth sin and death unto the world. Apostle Paul testified of the plan of God in the Spirit: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.”(Rom. 5:12-14)

In other word, he testified of no hope in the world unless Jesus Christ appears as the figure of Adam to the world to solve the problem of sin and death.

       Finally, God called Abram to begin his plan to make himself to be manifested in flesh(1Tim. 3:16) as the seed of woman that is supposed to take away the sin and death. God gave Abram a covenant saying, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”(Gen. 12:3)

God testified of Christ Jesus that shall appear in the seed of Abraham; and God gave the word of promise to give blessing unto whomsoever believe on Christ Jesus as saying, “In you”.

        Apostle Paul testified of this blessing saying, “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.…. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”(Gal. 3:14,16)

        God called Moses and gave him the Ten Commandments with all the other laws that the people of God couldn’t keep, 430 years after he gave the covenant of the life eternal through the seed of Abraham. God wanted them to understand themselves not to able to keep the law, and recognize themselves as sinners to receive the covenant of Abraham. Apostle Paul testified of the relationship between the law of God and covenant given unto Abraham: “Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man’s covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto….And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.”(Gal. 3:15,17,18)

       And Apostle Paul testified also of the intention of God that he gave them the law that cannot be kept after he gave them the promise of the life eternal: “Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator….Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.”(Gal. 3:19,21,22)

        Finally, God himself appeared in the name of Jesus as the seed of Abraham to the world. John the Baptist was the prophet that introduce Jesus Christ to appear as the seed of Abraham. When Jesus came to him, he cried out saying, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”(John 1:29) Yea! The seed of woman that was promised unto Abraham appeared to the earth one day after two thousand years passed by since Abraham received the covenant of God. Even in this moment, the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ is preached through the written word of God. No one can receive the blessing of the life eternal from God unless he take away all sins of the world thoroughly

        God that gave the promise of the life eternal unto Abraham sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh so that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us that believe on his Son (Rom. 8:3,4). Therefore God transferred the sin of the world unto the body of his Son for him to die on the cross. Two thousand years ago, the sin of the world was taken away already. Therefore, the promise of the life eternal is effective only for them that believe on the promise of the life eternal though the Son of God. Apostle Paul testified of this blessing saying, “the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe”(Gal.3:22)

        Wherefore, Jesus died for our sins, and buried, and rose again from the dead the third day. And after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, and sat down on the right hand of God. He testified of the Holy Ghost that shall testify his ministry of redemption through him; and reprove the world saying,

“Of sin, because they believe not on me;

Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”(John 16:9-11) Amen! Hallelujah!
