금주의 묵상: 시편 51:1-19

본문: 시편 32:1-5

제목: 다윗의 자손으로 태어나신 창조주 하나님이 주신 은혜

      마태복음 첫 장에서 이 세상에 예수라는 이름으로 태어나신 창조주이신 그리스도의 육신적인 족보를 소개할 때에 “다윗의 아들이요, 아브라함의 아들인 예수 그리스도의 세대에 관한 책“이라고 증거했습니다. 다윗은 아브라함의 자손인데 아브라함보다 다윗의 이름이 먼저 나온 것입니다. 이삭의 아들도 아니고 야곱의 아들도 아니고 요셉의 아들도 이니며 모세의 아들도 아닌 다윗의 아들이라고 증거하고 있는 것입니다. 이렇게 기록하게 하신 성령님의 뜻이 무엇인지에 대하여 우리는 성경을 통하여 살펴볼 수 있습니다.

하나님께서 이스라엘의 첫 번째 왕 사울을 폐할 것을 작정하시고 사무엘에게 뿔에 기름을 채워가지고 베들레헴 사람 이새에게 보내시면서, 그의 아들들 중에서 한 왕을 예비하셨다고 말씀하셨습니다. 이새의 아들들이 그 앞에 차례로 나타났을 때 그들의 용모가 뛰어난 것을 보고 기름을 부으려고 했습니다. 큰 아들을 시작으로 모두 일곱 아들들이 지나갈 때마다 기름을 부으려고 하였지만 하나님께서는 그들의 외모를 보지 않으시고 마음을 보신다는 말씀을 하시면서 일곱 아들들 누구에게도 기름붓는 것을 허락하시지 않았습니다.

이때에 사무엘이 이새에게 “네 자식들이 모두 여기 있느냐?” 물었을 때, 양을 지키고 있는 막내 아들이 있다고 말하자 사무엘은 그가 올 때까지 앉지 아니할 것이라고 이새에게 말했습니다. 마침내 막내 아들 다윗이 나타났을 때 그의 혈색이 좋고 용모가 준수할 뿐 아니라. 보기에도 좋았습니다. 그때 주께서 사무엘에게 “일어나 그에게 기름을 부으라. 이 사람이 그임이라.”고 말씀하셨습니다. 사무엘이 그에게 기름을 부었을 때 주의 영이 그날로부터 다윗에게 임했습니다 (삼살 16:1-13)

그런 후에 필리스티아인들이 전쟁을 하려고 진을 치고 이스라엘을 공격하는 일이 일어났습니다. 그때 필리스타인 진영에 키가 여섯 규빗과 한 뼘(3미터 이상)이나 되는 골리앗이라는 장군이 머리에 놋 투구를 쓰고 오천 세겔이나 되는 쇠비늘 갑옷으로 무장하고 다리에는 놋 경갑을 차고 어깨 사이에는 놋 방패를 메고 나왔습니다. 당시 이스라엘 군대에는 그 어느누구도 그를 당할 자가 없었습니다. 마침 양을 치던 다윗이 아버지의 심부름으로 형들에게 먹을 것을 전하러 갔을 때, 큰 형 엘리압이 다윗에게 분노하면서 왜 양 몇마리를 놓아두고 전쟁을 구경하러 왔느냐고 책망했습니다.

이미 하나님의 거룩한 영으로 기름부음 받은 다윗은 이전의 다윗이 아니었습니다. 이때 다윗은 사울왕에게 자신이 골리앗과 싸우겠다고 말했습니다. 사울왕은 어떻게 젊은 사람이 어려서부터 전사인 그를 이기겠느냐고 말하는 그에게 다윗은 “왕의 종이 자기 아버지의 양을 지키는데, 사자와 곰이 와서 양무리에서 새끼 양을 잡아가면, 내가 그를 따라가서 그를 치고 그 입에서 새끼를 건져내었으며, 그가 나를 향하여 일어나면 내가 그 수염을 잡아 쳐서 죽였나이다. 왕의 종이 사자와 곰도 죽였는데, 이 할례받지 않은 필리스티아인이 살아계신 하나님의 군대를 모독하는 것을 보았으니 그도 그들 중 하나같이 되리이다. 사자의 발톱과 곰의 발톱에서 나를 구해주신 주께서 이 필리스티아인의 손에서도 나를 구해 주시리이다.”(삼상 17:34-37)라고 말했습니다.

이때, “가라, 주께서 너와 함께 하시리라.”는 사울왕의 명령을 들은 다윗은 사울왕이 주는 갑옷과 놋투구와 쇠비늘 갑옷을 벗어던지고 그의 손에 단지 하나의 막대기와 매끄러운 돌 다섯 개만 가지고 골리앗 앞에 나아가서 “너는 칼과 창과 방패를 가지고 내게 오지만, 나는 만군의 주의 이름, 즉 네가 모독한 이스라엘 군대의 하나님의 이름으로 네게 가노라. 오늘 주께서 너를 내 손에 넘겨주시리니, 내가 너를 쳐서 네게서 머리를 취하리라. 내가 오늘 필리스티아인 군대의 시체들을 공중의 새들과 땅의 들짐승들에게 주어 온 땅으로 이스라엘에 하나님이 계시다는 것을 알게 하리라. 또 이 온 무리는 주께서 칼과 창으로 구원하지 않으심을 알게 되리니, 이는 전쟁이 주의 것이므로 그가 너희를 우리 손에 주실 것이기 때문이라.”(삼상 17:45-47) 고 담대하게 증거했습니다.

마침내 하나님께서 함께 하신 다윗은 그의 믿음의 고백대로 그의 돌 하나가 골리앗의 이마를 쳐서 깊숙히 박혀 쓰러지게 하였고 칼도 없는 다윗은 그날 돌과 물매만 사지고 필리스티아인을 죽이고 골리앗의 칼을 뽑아 그것으로 그를 죽이고 그의 목을 베었을 때 필리스티아인들이 그들의 최고 무사가 죽은 것을 보고 도망쳤던 것입니다.

우리는 여기서 아주 중요한 진리를 발견할 수 있습니다. 하나님께서 사무엘에게 자신이 보시는 것은 외모가 아니고 마음을 보신다고 말씀하셨는데, 과연 하나님께서 다윗의 어떤 마음을 보셨는지 말씀을 통하여 알 수 있는 것입니다. 다윗의 형들은 이스라엘 군대에서 활약하던 장수들이었지만 막내 아들 다윗은 그의 어버지 이새가 몇 마리도 되지 않는 양을 치라고 했을 때 그 말에 순종하여 자신의 목숨을 다하여 사자와 곰과 싸워 아버지의 양을 지킨 아들이었습니다. 그야말로 작은 일에 충성한 아들이었습니다. 다윗을 왕으로 세우셨던 하나님께서 예수라는 이름으로 이 땅에 나타나셔서 하신 말씀 가운데, 한 므나로 열므나를 남긴 종에게 “잘하였다. 착한 종아, 네가 아주 작은 일에 신실하였으니 열 고을을 다스리는 권세를 가지라.”(눅 19:17)고 말씀하셨습니다. 그 당시 다윗은 십계명 가운데 오계명을 신실하게 지킨 아들이었습니다. 그의 아버지가 부를 때까지 들에서 몇 마리 되지 않는 아버지의 양을 최선을 다해 돌봄으로써 아버지의 말씀에 절대 순종했던 것입니다. 사도 바울은 제 오계명에 대하여 “자녀들아, 주 안에서 너희 부모에게 순종하라. 이것이 옳으니라. 네 아버지와 어머니를 공경하라, (이것이 약속 있는 첫 계명이니) 이는 네가 잘되고 또 땅에서 장수하게 하려 함이니라.”(엡 6:1-3)고 증거했습니다.

그렇습니다. 하나님께서 다윗의 마음을 보시고 어린양 몇 마리를 돌보는 그를 이스라엘의 두 번째 왕으로 세우신 것입니다. 그러므로 다윗을 통하여 성령께서는 앞으로 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 오실 예수 그리스도께서 골리앗같은 적그리스도를 아마겟돈에서 쳐 죽이실 장면을 미리 예고편으로 보여주신 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라, 그후에 평강의 하나님께서 에덴 동산에서 뱀에게 말씀하신대로 사탄의 머리를 부수실 것입니다(창 3:15, 롬 16:20). 그러기에 성령께서는 마태가 그리스도 예수님의 족보를 쓸 때에 아브라함보다 먼저 다윗의 이름을 기록하게 하셨던 것입니다.

그러나 예수님께서는 온 땅의 왕이 되시기 전에 먼저 죄인들을 위하여 죽으셔야 했습니다. 그러므로 다윗은 왕으로서의 예수님의 모형이 되기 전에 고난받으실 주님의 모형이 되어야 했습니다. 주님께서 왕이 되시기 전에 이 땅에서 마귀의 종들인 종교지도자들로부터 끊임없이 고난을 당하신 것처럼 다윗 역시 마귀의 모형인 사울왕에 의하여 모진 고난을 받으면서 사망의 골짜기를 끊임 없이 지나야 했습니다. 심지어는 자신을 밀어내고 왕이 되려는 자식이 그를 죽이려고 끊임 없이 따라다니는 고통 속에 있어야만 했습니다. 그는 마침내 십자가 상에서 주님께서 고난 가운데 외치셨던 절규를 그자신도 외쳐야만 할 정도로 고난을 받았습니다. “나의 하나님, 나의 하나님, 어찌하여 주께서는 나를 버리셨나이까? 어찌하여 나를 돕지 아니하시며 나의 신음하는 말들을 멀리 하시나이까?’(시 22:1. 마27:46)

그는 앞으로 나타나실 그리스도의 모형이 되기에 충문했던 것입니다.

그러나 그가 사망의 골짜기를 통과하여 그의 왕권이 견고해 졌을 때 그는 생각지도 못했던 죄를 지고 말았습니다. 그의 부하 우리아의 아내를 범하고 그를 가장 치열한 전쟁터로 보내 죽게하는 간음죄와 살인죄를 범한 것입니다. 우리 주님은 자신의 죄가 아닌 세상 죄들로 인해 십자가의 고난을 받으셨지만 다윗은 자신의 한 번의 죄로 인하여 평생을 눈물로 침상을 적실 정도로 회개의 눈믈을 흘렸습니다. 자신이 하나님 앞에 의인이라고 여겼던 다윗은 마침내 “보소서, 내가 죄악 중에서 조성되었고 죄 중에서 내 어머니가 나를 배었나이다. 보소서, 주께서는 마음에 있는 진실을 원하시오니 주께서는 감추어진 곳에서 나로 지혜를 알게 하시리이다. 우슬초로 나를 정결케 하소서. 내가 깨끗게 되리이다. 나를 씻기소서. 내가 눈보다 더 희게 되리이다.”(시 51:5-7)고 자신이 죄인으로 태어났다는 사실을 깨닫고 하나님께 간구의 기도를 드렸습니다.

오늘 우리에게 주신 본문 말씀은 앞으로 자신의 자손으로 이 땅에 나타나실 주 예수 그리스도께서 이루실 구속 사역을 성령 안에서 보면서 주님께서 십자가에서 세상 모든 죄인들을 위해 자신의 피를 쏟으시고 그 피를 믿을 사람이 받게 될 축복에 대하여 예언한 시인 것입니다. “죄과들이 용서받고 죄가 가려진 사람은 복이 있도다. 주께서 정죄하지 않으시고 그 영에 간사함이 없는 자는 복이 있도다.”(시 32:1,2)

마침내 이 땅에 나타나신 그리스도 예수께서 하신 말씀 가운데 이 복된 사람들에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다: “믿고 침례를 받는 자는 구원을 받을 것이나 믿지 않는 자는 정죄함을 받으리라. 아들을 믿는 사람은 정죄를 받지 아니하나 믿지 않는 사람은 이미 정죄를 받은 것이라. 이는 그 사람이 하나님의 독생자를 믿지 않았기 때문이라. 이것이 정죄라. 즉 빛이 세상에 왔으나 사람들이 빛보더 오히려 어두움을 더 사랑하니 이는 그들이 행위가 악하기 때문이라.”. (막 16:16, 요 3:18,19)

다윗은 율법 시대가 지나고 은혜 시대를 사는 모든 사람들이 받을 복에 대하여, 단지 하나님의 독생자를 믿기만 하면 모든 죄들이 용서되고 가리워짐으로써 성령을 받아 영원한 생명을 받을 우리들을 향하여 복된 자들이라고 증거한 것입니다. 지금도 여전히 작은 일에 충성하는 자들을 높이셔서 그분깨서 오실 때 큰 일을 맏겨주시는 주님을 잊지 말아야 할 것입니다. 특히 부모를 둔 자녀들은 눈에 보이는 부모에게 순종하는 일이 보이지 않는 하나님을 섬기기 전에 먼저 해야 할 일인 것을 마음에 새김으로써 약속 있는 첫 계명의 축복을 놓치지 말아야 할 것입니다. 이것이야말로 땅에서 잘되고 장수하는 축복인 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 51:1-19

Subject: The grace of God, the creator born in flesh as the son of David

In the first chapter of Matthew, of Christ, the Creator born in the name of JESUS in the world, “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”(Matt. 1:1)

David was a son of Abraham; but the name of David appears ahead of the name of Abraham. The scripture testifies of Jesus, not as the son of Isaac, not of Jacob, not of Joseph, not of Moses, but of David. To understand the intention of the Holy Ghost, we have to search the scriptures.

The LORD God decided to make king Saul step down from the throne; and he asked Samuel to fill his horn with oil, and go saying, I will send thee to Jesse, the Bethlehemite; for I have provided me a king among his sons. When the sons of Jesse passed by him one by one from the first son to the last, Samuel was going to anoint them; but God refused to anoint any of them, saying, look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refuse him; for the LORD looketh on the heart.

Then, Samuel asked Jesse, “Are here all thy children?”; he said to him,There remaineth yet the youngest, and he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, send and fetch him; for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, “Arise, anoint him: for this is he.” Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren; and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward (1Sam. 16:1-13)

Afterwards, the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle against Israel. there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders. At that time, no one of Israel was dare to fight against him. Then, Jesse asked David in the midst of sheep to fetch food for his brethren in the camp of Israel. Upon seeing David, Eliab, his eldest brother was angry with him saying, you come here? and with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride, and naughtiness of your heart; for you are come down that you might see the battle.

Davis was not him anymore before he was anointed by the Spirit of God. Then, David said unto Saul, Thy servant will go against this Philistine to fight with him. King Saul answered him, you are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth; but David said unto him,

“Thy servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:

And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.

Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.

The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.”(1Sam. 17:34-37)

        Upon hearing from king Saul saying, “Go, and the LORD be with thee.”, David put off an helmet of brass as well as a coat of mail. And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand; and drew near unto the Philistine. And said unto him testifying of the LORD God saying,

“Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hands.”(1Sam. 17:45-47)

        As the confession of faith, the LORD God was with him; and David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. so David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. Then, David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and slew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.

Now we find a very important truth; God said unto Samuel, the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart. Then, how the LORD God chose David as a king looking on his heart? David’s brothers were active soldiers with good countenance with height, but David was the youngest son of Jesse taking care of few sheep of his father to obey his father. He did his best with all his heat as well as with all his life to protect the sheep of his father from lions and bears fighting with them. He was the one that was faithful in a very little thing. The LORD God who anointed David as a king was manifested in flesh in the name of JESUS said unto a servant who gained ten pounds with one pound: “Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.”(Luke 19:17)

        At that time, David obeyed the fifth commandment faithfully. Until his father called him, he was taking care of few sheep with his best in the wilderness; he was a faithful son unto his father obeying his word. Apostle Paul testified of the fifth commandment:

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”(Eph. 6:1-3)

        Yea! Looking on the heart of David, God anointed David as the second king of Israel who was taking care of few sheep. Through king David, the Holy Ghost showed preview of Jesus Christ to come as King of Kings, and Lord of Lord to slew the Antichrist as Goliath in Armageddon; and afterwards, God of peace shall bruise Satan under our feet shortly as he said unto the serpent in Eden (Gen. 3:15, Rom. 16:20). Therefore, the Holy Ghost made Matthew write the name of David before Abraham in the book of generation of Jesus Christ.

But Jesus had to die for sinners before he becomes the king in all the earth. Therefore, David had to be the model of Jesus who received persecution, before to the model of him as the king. As Jesus was persecuted without ceasing from the religious leaders who were the servants of the devil, David was also persecuted by king Saul, a model of the devil; he was persecuted by his own sons in the valley of death. Finally, he cried out in the midst of severe suffering unto God as Jesus did saying, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?”(Ps. 22:1) He was enough to the model of Christ Jesus to come.

But, when his throne was strong after he passed through the valley of death, he committed a serious sin that he never expected to do. He committed adultery with the wife of Uriah, one of his subordinate. And he sent him to the severe battle field for him to die; finally he added sin of murder. Our Lord Jesus suffered for the sake of the sin of the world, not his own, but David had to wet his bed with tears of repentance of his sin for his whole life. He understood himself as a sinner, not righteous, and confessed unto God, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts   : and in the hidden part    thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean   : wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”(Ps. 51:5-7)

        The word of message in the main passage is the word of prophesy for the ministry of redemption of sins to be done by the Lord Jesus Christ. David saw the Lord Jesus Christ shed his blood for all sinners in the world to bless the believers of him in the Spirit of God:

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.”(Ps. 32:1,2)

        Finally, Christ Jesus appeared in the world, and spoke of them to be blessed not to be condemned:

“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned….He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”(Mark 16:16, John 3:18,19)

      David testified of them to be blessed just through remission of sins and covered to receive the life eternal through the Holy Ghost, if whosoever believes in the only begotten Son of God in the age of grace beyond the age of the law. He envied with us, because we so much blessed just through faith not any work.

Our Lord is still looking on our heart to lift up whomsoever is faithful in little thing to give us power of subduing that is the great thing. Especially the children that have parents alive must know that honoring visible parents is the first thing to do before serving visible God. Engraving this in the heart, you are not going to miss the blessing of promise through fifth commandment to be well, and live long in the earth. Amen! Hallelujah!
