금주의 묵상: 시편 1-12

본문: 시편 105:1-22

제목: 말씀으로 연단받아 하나님께 쓰임 받는 축복된 자들

        다윗왕은 주께서 그의 모든 원수들의 손과 사울의손에서 구해내신 날에 하나님께 찬양의 노래를 드렸습니다. 그가 드린 찬양의 시 가운데 그는 “하나님으로 말하면, 그의 길은 완전하고, 주의 말씀은 연단되었으며, 그는 자기를 신뢰하는 모든 자들에게 방패가 되시는도다.”(삼하 22:31)라고 증거했습니다.

        그가 “주의 말씀은 연단되었으며” 라고 말한 것은 자신이 앞으로 이스라엘의 왕이 될 것이라는 말씀과 함께 하나님께서 사무엘을 통하여 자신에게 기름부으신 후에 날마다 죽음을 목전에 둔 것같은 고난을 사울왕과 그의 부하들을 통하여 받았던 것입니다. 하나님께서는 그가 이스라엘의 왕이 될 뿐만 아니라 앞으로 이 세상에 나타나실 메시야이신 주 예수 그리스도의 모형이 되게 하시기 위하여 하나님께서 주신 약속의 말씀이 그 안에서 함께 연단을 받은 것을 증거했던 것입니다.

      그가 마침내 모든 연단을 거친 후 왕이 되었을 때, 주의 말씀이 연단을 받았다는 사실을 구체적으로 하나님께 말씀드렸습니다: “나의 하나님이여, 나는 또한 주께서 마음을 연단하시고 정직을 기뻐하심을 아나이다. 나로서는 내 마음의 정직함으로 내가 이 모든 것을 기꺼이 드렸나이다. 이제 나는 또 여기에 참석한 주의 백성이 기꺼이 주께 드리는 것을 기쁨으로 보았나이다.”(대상 29:17)

      또 다윗은 하나님께 기도할 때에 “오 주여, 나를 시험(Examine)하시고 살피시어 내 속과 내 마음을 연단하소서.”(시 26:2)라고 고백했습니다. 다윗은 하나님께서 자기 백성들을 은을 연단하심같이 연단하셨다고 말씀드리면서 “주께서 우리를 그불로 이끄시어 우리의 허리에 고통을 두셨나이다. 주께서 사람들을 우리 머리 위로 타고 지나가게 하셨으며 우리가 물을 통과하고 불을 통과하였더니 주께서 우리를 풍요로운 곳으로 인도하셨나이다.”(시 66:10-12)라고 고백했습니다.

      뿐만 아니라 다윗왕은 자신과 자기 백성들을 연단하셨던 하나님 자신도 새상 사람들로부터 일곱 번이나 연단을 받으실 것을 미리 증거했습니다: “주의 말씀들은 순수한 말씀들이라. 흙도가니에서 단련되어 일곱 번 정화된 은 같도다. 오 주여, 주께서 이 말씀들을 간수하시리니 주께서 이 세대로부터 영원토록 그것들을 보존하시리이다.”(시 12:6,7)

          그는 성령 안에서 하나님의 말씀들이 히브리어, 아람어, 헬라어, 라틴어, 독일어, 영어, 그리고 한국어를 포함하여 세계 많은 나라들의 언어로 번역되면서 사단의 세력으로부터 엄청난 방해공작을 통하여 변개되는 연단을 받은 후 마침내 순수한 말씀들로 보존될 것을 알았던 것입니다. 우리 모두가 아는 것처럼 이 순수한 말씀이 영어로부터 한글로 번역된 후 지금까지도 박해 속에 단련을 받고 있으며 심지어는 같은 영어킹제임스 성경이 한글킹제임스성경과 흠정역성경 두 가지로 번역되어 여전히 연단을 받고 있는 것을 보는 것입니다.

        하나님의 지혜와 명철을 받은 솔로몬왕도 “도가니는 은을, 용광로는 금을 연단하거니와 주께서는 사람의 마음을 연단하시느니라…. 도가니가 은을, 용광로가 금을 연단하듯이, 사람은 칭찬으로 연단되느니라.”(잠 17:3,21)고 증거했습니다.

        하나님께서는 하나님께 범죄하여 우상을 섬기며 하나님을 떠나 이방나라들과 음행하는 이스라엘을 향하여 선지자 예레미야를 통하여 엄청난 연단이 있을 것을 엄중하게 경고하셨습니다: “그러므로 만군의 주가 이같이 말하노라. 보라 내가 그들을 녹여서 연단하리라.”(렘 9:7)

        온전하고 정직하며, 하나님을 두려워하고 악을 피하는 사람이었던 욥도 생각지 못한 엄청난 연단을 받은 후에 “그러나 그는 내가 택한 길을 알고 계시니 그가 나를 연단하시면 내가 금같이 나오리라.”(욥 23:10)고 고백했습니다.

          하나님께서는 요셉이 어릴 때에 꿈을 통하여 자신의 뜻을 이루실 것을 미리 보여주시고 자신의 말씀을 그 안에 두시고 오랜 동안 이 땅에 나타나실 주 예수 그리스도께서 받으실 고난을 미리 받게 하심으로써 연단하시고 마침내 하나님의 뜻을 이루게 하셨던 것입니다. 시편기자는 이에 대하여 “또 그가 그 땅에 기근을 불러들이시어 모든 식량봉을 끊으셨도다. 주께서 그들 앞에 한 사람을 보내셨으니 종으로 팔렸던 요셉이라. 그의 발이 차꼬에 상했으며 그가 쇠사슬에 매었으니 주의 말씀이 임할 때까지 주의 말씀이 그를 연단하였도다.”(시 105:16-19)라고 증거했습니다.

          선지자 다니엘은 우리가 살고 있는 이 시대에 있을 일에 대하여 예언했습니다: “많은 사람이 정결케 될 것이며 희게 되고 연단되리라. 그러나 악인들은 악하게 행하리라. 악한 자들 중 아무도 깨닫지 못할 것이나 현명한 자들은 깨달으리라.”(단 12:10)

        사도 베드로도 마지막 때를 살고 있는 그리스도인들을 향하여 “사랑하는 자들아, 너희를 연단시키려는 불 같은 시련에 관하여 너희에게 어떤 이상한 일이 일어나는 것처럼 이상하게 여기지 말고 도리어 너희가 그리스도의 고난에 참여하는 자들이 되는 것이니 즐거워하라. 이는 그의 영광이 나타나실 때에 너희도 큰 기쁨으로 즐거워하게 하려 함이니라.”(벧전 4:12,13)고 권면했습니다.

        그렇습니다! 우리가 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜로 값없이 우리 혼이 구원을 받았지만, 이 땅에 사는 동안 우리 몸이 하나님의 뜻을 이루는 도구로 사용되기 위해서는 하나님의 말씀으로 연단을 받아야 하는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 우리 마음 속에 있는 육신적인 생각들이 모두 제거되고 하나님의 말씀 속에 있는 하나님의 생각으로 바뀌어 순수하게 되어야 하는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 이에 대하여, “여러가지 구상과 하나님을 아는 지식을 거역하여 스스로 추켜세운 모든 높은 것들을 무너뜨리며 모든 생각을 사로잡아서 그리스도께 복종케 하니 너희의 복종이 이루어지면 모든 불복종을 응징하려는 준비를 갖추고 있느니라.”(고후 10:5,6)고 증거했습니다.

        겱국, 하나님의 말씀으로 연단을 받는다는 것은 하나님의 말씀에 절대복종하는 순수한 마음으로 되기 위하여 반드시 거쳐야 하는 과정인 것입니다. 우리 자신의 생각을 모두 다 버리고 하나님의 말씀 안에 있는 하나님의 생각으로 온 마음이 변화되어야 하는 것입니다.

      요셉이 보디발의 아내의 유혹에 단 한 번만 하는 생각으로 동조했다면 감옥에 들어가지는 않았겠지만 그는 결국 마지막 순간에 이집트의 두 번째 통치자가 되는 축복을 받지는 못했을 것입니다. 그는 간음하지 말라는 하나님의 말씀에 어떤 상황윤리도 주장하지 않고 복종했기 때문에 감옥이라는 좁은 문을 통해서 하나님께 쓰임받는 영광을 누렸던 것입니다.

        지금도 하나님께서는 당장 자신에게 손해가 되고 어려움과 수치를 당할지라도 순수한 하나님의 말씀에 절대 복종함으로써 요셉처럼 모든 일에 감사할 때에 하나님의 뜻을 이루시는 도구로 쓰임받을 수 있는 것입니다. 이 진리를 깨달은 사도 바울은 데살로니가교회 성도들을 향하여 “모든 일에 감사하라. 이것은 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희에 관한 하나님의 뜻이니라.”(살전 5:18)고 증거했습니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 30:1-12

Main scripture: Psalms 105:1-22

Subject: Blessed one that is used by God tried by the word of God

       King David spoke unto the LORD the words of the song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.”(2Sam. 22:31)

        Saying, “the word of the LORD is tries”, he has been tried by King Saul and his people unto death every day along with word of the LORD that appointed him to be the king of Israel, since he was anointed by Samuel. He testified that the word of the promise of God had been tried in him to make him the king of Israel as well as the shadow of the Lord Jesus Christ to come to the world.

      Finally, passing through the trial, he became the king of Israel; and he spoke unto the LORD God that the word of the LORD had been tried together with him saying,

“I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee.”(1Chro. 29:17)

          King David spoke unto the LORD in his prayer saying, “Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.”(Ps. 26:2) And he also confessed, God had tried his people also as he tried silver saying, “For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried. Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins. Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”(Ps. 66:10-12)

        He also testified, not only he and his people had been tried, but also God himself shall be tried seven times by the world saying, “The words of theLord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”(Ps. 12:6,7)

        He had already understood that the words of God shall be attacked by the power of Satan to be corrupted in the midst of being written in the tongues of Hebrew, Greek, Syrian, Latin, German, English and all other tongues of nations including Korean; but his words shall be preserved as the pure words at the end. As we know, after the pure words of God translated into Korean from English, the words of God has been tried; recently another version was published to try each other.

        King Solomon received the wisdom of God as well as understanding; he also testified of the trial of the heart of man saying, “The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the Lord trieth the hearts…. He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.”(Prov. 17:3, 21)

       The LORD God gave the people of Israel as very strict warning message through prophet Jeremiah for their falling away from God serving idols as well as fornicating with the Gentiles saying, “Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them.”(Jerm. 9:7)

        Even Job who was perfect and upright recognized by God, and feared God, and eschewed evil also confessed unto God after he had passed through dreadful trial saying, “But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”(Job. 23:10)

       God showed unto Joseph dreams to fulfill His will in his teen age; God engrave his words in his heart, and had tried him for a long time as the Lord Jesus Christ is to be tried in the world in the future. And finally God fulfilled his will through Joseph. The psalmist testified of this saying,  “Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread. He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.”(Ps. 105:16-19)

        Prophet Daniel also prophesied of what is happening in our days saying, “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”(Dan. 12:10)

       Apostle Peter also encouraged the Christians living in the last days saying, “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”(1Pet. 4:12,13)

       Yea! Even though we are saved freely of our soul by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we (our body) should be tried by the words of God to be the instrument of God to fulfill the will of God. In other word, all kinds of carnal thoughts should be taken out of our heart to be filled with the thoughts of God within the words of God to be pure heart. Apostle Paul testified of this saying, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”(2Cor. 10:5,6)

       Being tried by the words of God is the necessary process to be pure heart so that we obey the words of God thoroughly. Forsaking our own thoughts, we have to be changed into the thoughts of God within the words of God.

        If Joseph had accepted the temptation of the wife of Potiphar just once, he might not have been put in prison, but he could not be blessed to be the second ruler of Egypt. He obeyed the commandment of God ” Not commit adultery strictly not compromising with the situation at all. Finally, through narrow gate, the prison, he was glorified by God to be a great instrument of the LORD God to fulfill his will.

        Even nowadays, when we obey the words of God not compromising regardless of any situation giving us loss and shames and affliction giving thanks in everything, we shall be used by God to fulfill his will through us. Apostle Paul, understanding this truth, and testified unto the saints of Thessalonians saying, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”(1Thes. 5:18) Amen! Hallelujah!
