금주의 묵상: 시편 42:1-11

본문: 이사야 55:1-12

제목: 혼이 풍요함 가운데 기쁨을 누리고 있는가?

        하나님께서 자신의 형상을 따라 자신의 모습대로 사람을 만드실 때에 아버지와 아들과성령 세 분의 신격이 하나이신 분께서 사람도 몸, 혼 ,영으로 만드시고 사람의 본체를 살아있는 혼이라 말씀하셨습니다 (창 2:7).

이로 인하여 구약 성경에서 사람을 말할 때에 한 사람, 한 사람이라 말씀하지 않고 한 혼, 한 혼이라 말씀하신 것입니다. 아브리함이 자신의 아내 사래와 함께 이집트 땅에 내려갔을 때 사래에게 부탁할 때에도 “내가 부탁하노니, 당신은 나의 누이라고 말하라. 그리하면 내가 당신으로 인하여 안전할 것이며, “내 혼”이 당신으로 인하여 살리라.”(창 12:13)고 말했습니다.

        롯도 천사에게 도피할 성읍으로 인도해 달라고 요청하면서 “그러면 내 혼이 살리이다.”(창 19:20)라고 말했습니다. 이삭도 야곱에게 자신이 죽기 전에 “내 혼이 너를 축복하게 하라.”(창 27:4)고 말했습니다. 또한 야곱의 아내 라헬이 베냐민을 낳은 후 죽을 때에 “그녀의 혼이 떠나려할 때, (이는 그녀가 죽었음이라)”(창 35:18)라고 말함으로써 사람의 몸이 죽는 것은 혼이 몸을 떠날 때를 말함이라고 성경은 말씀하십니다. 사람의 혼은 죽지 않는 살아있는 혼이기 때문에 잠시 동안 살다가 죽는 사람의 몸은 단지 혼이 거하는 집이라는 것을 알 수 있는 것입니다.

      하나님께서는 선지자 이사야를 통하여 이스라엘 사람들에게 하나님께서 그들에게 주신 영원한 구원의 약속의 말씀을 받아 믿음므로써 그들의 혼이 풍요함 속에서 기뻐하라고 말씀하셨습니다. 그들은 육신적인 목마름을 위한 양식을 위하여 돈을 쓰면서 그들의 배고품을 채워줄 수 없는 것을 위하여 수고하고 있었던 것입니다.

      이스라엘 백성들뿐만 아니라, 오늘날 그리스도인들에게도 동일한 말씀을 사도 요한을 통하여 말씀하셨습니다. 마지막 때에 살고 있는 수많은 그리스도인들 역시 자신들의 혼을 풍요롭게 하는 포도주와 젖같은 하나님의 말씀을 받아 혼이 풍요롭게 되는 것을 원치 않고 있는 영적으로 어린 그리스도인들을 향하여: “세상도, 세상에 있는 것들도 사랑하지 말라. 누구든지 세상을 사랑하면 아버지를 사랑함이 그 안에 있지 아니하니 이는 세상에 있는 모든 것이 육신의 정욕과 안목의 정욕과 생의 자랑이요, 아버지께 속한 것이 아니라 세상에 속한 것이기 때문이라. 세상도, 세상의 정욕도 사라지지만 하나님의 뜻을 행하는 자는 영원히 거하느니라.”(요일 2:15-17)고 말씀하셨습니다.

        당시 이스라엘 사람들은 영원한 하나님의 약속을 기다리면서 기뻐할 수 있는 삶을 살기 위하여 하나님의 영원한 약속의 말씀을 듣기를 거부하고 죽어서 썩을 육신을 위하여 모든 돈을 쓰기 위하여 헛된 수고를 하고 있었던 것입니다. 모든 세대에 걸쳐 하나님의 말씀을 사모하지 않는 세대들은 모두 동일한 헛 수고를 하는 것입니다.

        하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들뿐만 아니라 지상에 있는 교회들을 향하여서도 말씀하신 것입니다. 그 당시 이스라엘 백성들은 자신들이 무엇 때문에 목이 마른지 깨닫지 못했습니다. 오늘날 수많은 그리스도인들 역시 자신들의 혼이 하나님 말씀을 듣지 못함으로 인해 그들의 혼이 목마르다는 사실을 깨닫지 못하고 육신의 정욕을 추구하다가, 그 다음에는 안목의 정욕 그리고 나중에는 생의 자랑을 추구하다가 어느날 갑자기 죽음을 맞이하면서도 실상은 그들의 혼이 목마르다는 사실을 알지 못하고 생을 마감하는 사람들을 향한 말씀입니다. 다윗왕은 하나님의 말씀으로 자신의 혼이 소생되었다고 증거했습니다: “주는 나의 목자시니, 내가 부족한 것이 없으리로다. 그가 나를 푸른 초장에 눕게 하시며 잔잔한 물가로 나를 인도하시는도다. 그가 내 혼을 소생시키시고 그의 이름을 위하여 의의 길들로 나를 인도하시는도다.”(시 23;1-3)

        이스라엘 백성들에게는 다윗왕을 통해 주신 영원한 언약의 말씀을 주셨습니다. 그들은 앞으로 이 땅에 메시야 왕국이 서게 될 때에 온 땅을 다스리는 제사장 민족으로 택하신 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 외면하고 육신을 따라가면서 육신적인 풍요함을 추구하면서 돈을 쓰면서도 정작 그들의 혼은 목이 말라 메말라 있었던 것을 알지 못했던 것입니다. 하나님께서는 선지자 아모스를 통하여 이스라엘 백성들이 하나님의 말씀을 들을 수 없는 귀머거리가 될 것을 미리 예언했습니다: “주 하나님이 말하노니, 보라, 그 날들이 오리라. 내가 그 땅에 기근을 보내리니 빵의 기근도 아니요, 물로 인한 갈증도 아니라 오직 주의 말씀을 듣지 못하는 기근이니라. 사람들이 바다에서 바다까지, 북쪽에서 동쪽까지 방황할 것이요, 사람들이 주의 말씀을 찾으려고 이리저리 달릴 것이나 찾지 못하리라. 그 날에는 아름다운 쳐녀들과 청년들이 갈증으로 인하여 기진 하리라.”(암 8:11-13)

        하나님의 말씀을 듣지 못했던 이스라엘 백성들은 그들의 왕이시며 메시야이신 예수 그리스도께서 그들의 땅에 나타나셔서 말씀하셨지만 그들은 그분의 말씀을 듣지 못하여 그들의 메시야를 죽이는 큰 죄를 짓게 된 것입니다. 그러나 사마리아 땅에 살고 있던 한 여인의 혼이 목말라하는 것을 아시고 그 여인을 만나시려고 예수께서 친히 찾아가셨습니다. 그 여인에게 영적인 포도주와 젖을 값없이 주시려고 가셨던 것입니다. 우리는 본문 이사야 55에서 “목마른 자는 누구든지 물들로 나아오라, 돈 없는 자도 오라. 너희는 와서 사 먹으라. 정녕 와서 돈 없이 값없이 포도주와 젖을 사라…내게 열심히 경청하고 좋은 것을 먹으라. 그리하여 너희 혼이 풍요함 속에서 스스로 기뻐하게 하라.”고 말하셨던 분이 사람이 되셔서 육신의 정욕을 추구하다가 지쳐 목마른 한 여인을 친히 찾아가셨던 것입니다: “이 물을 마시는 사람은 누구든지 다시 목마르려니와 내가 주는 물을 마시는 사람은 누구든지 영원히 목마르지 아니하리라. 그러나 내가 그에게 주는 물은 그 사람 안에서 영원한 생명으로 솟아오르는 샘물이 되리라.”(요 4:13-14).

마침내 그 여인은 그녀의 혼의 목마름이 메시야를 기다리는 목마름인 것을 주님께 고백했습니다: “나는 그리스도라 하는 메시야가 오실 줄 아나이다. 그분이 오시면 우리에게 모든 일들을 말씀해 주실 것이니이다.”(요 4:25)

        그렇습니다! 그 여인은 자신의 혼이 목마른 사실을 깨닫고 이스라엘의 메시야가 오셔야만 그 목마름이 해갈 될 것을 알았던 것입니다. 그 여인은 주님을 만날 때까지 여러 남자들과 결혼하면서 목마름을 채워보려고 했지만 결국은 그의 몸이 아닌 그의 혼이 목말라하고 있는 것을 깨달았던 것입니다.

      이 세상에 태어난 모든 사람들은 살아가면서 그들의 목마름을 채워보려고 오랫 동안 공부도 하고 사업도 하면서 육신의 정욕과 안목의 정욕과 생의 자랑을 채우면 그 목마름이 없어지겠지 하는 착각 속에서 평생을 보내다가 모든 것이 헛된 것을 알게 될 때에 가서 죽음을 맞이하는 것을 봅니다. 죽기 직전에 모든 것이 헛되다고 한탄하며 고백했던 솔로몬 왕이 가장 대표적인 예가 될 것입니다.

        포도주는 마음을 기쁘게 하는 것이며 젖은 건강하게 하는 대표적인 것입니다. 육신적인 기쁨을 누리려면 엄청난 돈을 투자해야만 가능하며, 몸의 건강 역시 많은 시간과 돈을 투자해야만 이룰 수 있는 것입니다. 그러나 하나님께서는 육신적인 것을 추구하면서 돈을 쓰고 있는 이스라엘 백성들에게 영적인 포도주와 영적인 젖에 대하여 말씀하고 있는 것입니다. 이 두 가지는 그들의 혼을 풍요하게 만들고 영원한 기쁨을 주시는 하나님의 약속의 말씀 안에 있음에도 그들은 돈을 써서 육신적인 정욕을 채우는 일에만 관심을 두고 있는 이스라엘 사람들에게 하신 밀씀이며, 동시에 오늘날 육신적인 그리스도인들에게 하시는 말씀인 것입니다. 이 진리를 깨닫게 하시려고 말씀하셨습니다: “비와 눈이 하늘에서 내려 그곳으로 다시 돌아가지 않고 땅을 적셔서 싹을 내어 뿌리는 자에게 씨를 주고 먹는 자에게 양식을 줌과 같이 내 입에서 나가는 말도 그러하나니 그것은 내게 헛되이 돌아오지 아니하고 내가 기뻐하는 것을 이루며, 내가 보내어 이루려 하는 일에서 번성할 것이니라. 너희가 기쁨으로 나가서 화평으로 인도함을 받을 것이요, 산들과 작은 산들이 너희 앞에서 노래를 터뜨리고 들의 모든 나무가 손뼉을 치리라. 가시나무를 대신하여 전나무가 나오며 찔레를 대신하여 도금양나무가 나올 것이라. 그것이 주께 한 이름이 되어 끊어지지 아니할 영원한 표적이 될 것이니라.”(사 55:10-13).

      성령께서는 사도 베드로를 통하여 교회들에게 말씀하셨습니다: “이는 믿음의 결과, 곧 너희 혼들의 구원을 받음이라….그러므로 모든 악의와 속임수와 위선과 시기와 온갖 비방하는 말을 버리고 갖난 아기들로서 순수한 말씀의 젖을 사모하라. 이는 너희가 그것으로 인하여 자라게 하려 함이니라. 그렇게 함으로 주의 인자함을 맛보았느니라. 사람들로부터는 정녕 버림받았으나 하나님께는 택하심을 받은 귀중한 산 돌이신 그분께 나아와서 너희도 산 돌들로서 영적인 집으로 지어지고 예수 그리스도로 인하여 하나님께서 기뻐하실 영적인 제물들을 드리는 거룩한 제사장이 되느니라.”(벧전 1:9; 2:1-5)

그렇습니다. 이스라엘은 제사장 민족으로 택함을 받았으며 하나님의 교회는 그리스도와 함께 통치하는 왕같은 제사장이 되는 축복의 말씀을 받은 것입니다.

        그러므로, 이 축복의 말씀을 받은 거듭난 하나님의 자녀들은 비록 이 땅에서 고난을 받으면서 살고 있지만 참 소망 가운데 혼의 기쁨을 누리고 살 수 있는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 하나님의 자녀들이 이 땅에서 누리는 축복에 대하여 “하나님의 나라(왕국)는 먹고 마시는 것이 아니라 다만 성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨이라.”(롬 14:17)고 증거했습니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 42:1-11

Main scripture: Isaiah 55:1-12

Subject: Is your soul delighting itself in abundance?

        The LORD God made man in his image and his likeness as body, soul and spirit as he is one with three Godhead, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost; and he made man as a living soul (Gen. 2:7)

Therefore, in the book of old testament, one soul, two soul to count the number of man instead of one man, two men. When Abram went down to Egypt with his wife Sarai, he spoke unto her to protect his soul saying, “Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.”(Gen. 12:3)

        Lot asked the angels to lead him to a city for him to flee, and said unto them, “And my soul shall live”(Gen. 19:20) Isaac also spoke unto Jacob, “my soul may bless thee before I die.”(Gen. 17:4)

 When Rachel, a wife of Jacob was going to die after she gave a birth to Benjamin saying as, “as her soul was in departing, (for she died.”(Gen. 35:18); death means the soul of man to leave the body. Because the soul of man is living one that is immortal, the soul dwell in the body of man as a tabernacle until man dies.

      The LORD God asked unto the people of Israel make their soul delight in fatness believing the eternal promise of salvation of God given unto them, because they were laboring for carnal food spending money to fill their thirst and hunger.

        Not only unto the people of Israel, but also unto the Christians nowadays, God spoke through Apostle John; for so many Christians are not pursuing to delight their souls in fatness through receiving the word of God that is spiritual wine and milk. Apostle John spoke unto such carnal Christians saying, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”(1John 2:16-18)

        At that time, the people of Israel were laboring in vain for their corruptible body spending their money rejecting the eternal word of promise of God to make their souls delight waiting upon the promise of God. All the generation of the world have been laboring in vain, unless they love to hear the word of God.

        In the main passage, the LORD God spoke unto not only the people of Israel, but also all the churches of God in the earth. At that thime, the people of Israel were not aware of where their hunger and thirst came from. Even modern Christians do not understand their soul thirsting because they not hear the words of God, and continue to follow their lust of flesh, and the lust of eyes, and finally the pride of life. And they see their death all of sudden in a day to finish their life not knowing their thirst at all even at the moment of death. King David testified, his soul was restored by the words of God saying,

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”(Ps. 23;1-3)

        The LORD God had given unto the Israel the eternal covenant through king David. But unfortunately they rejected the word of promise to make them the nation of priest so that they may reign in the earth when the kingdom of Christ is established; they had just followed the lust of flesh never knowing their souls were dried out unto thirst. The LORD God prophesied through prophet Amos of them saying,

 “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.”(Amos 8:11-13)

 Not listening the word of God, the people of Israel couldn’t hear the word of Jesus Christ either even though their Messiah and king spoke unto them again ended up with crucifying him to commit murdering God. But Jesus visited a woman in Samaria knowing her soul was thirsty to give her spiritual wine and milk. He was the very God that spoke unto the people of Israel the

main passage Isaiah 55 chapter saying, Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.”(Isa. 55:1,2)

Jesus said unto the woman, “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”(John 4:13,14)

At Last she confessed unto the Lord Jesus, she was thirst to see the Messiah saying, “I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.”(John 4:25)

        Yea! She understood that her soul was thirsty, and only the Messiah Israel could restore her thirst. She had been trying to restore her thirst with the lust of flesh through marriage with men until he met Christ Jesus, she finally realized, her soul not her body was thirsty.

        Men and women in the world are still trying to have degree in schools, and running business to restore their thirst pursuing their lust of flesh, and the lust of eyes and the pride of life spending their money misunderstanding of their thirst of souls in vain. They shall understand that all things are in vain unto death at the end of their life. King Solomon is an representative example of this.

        We can say, wine is the one that delight the heart of man, and milk is to make man healthy. To delight carnally, enormous money should be invested to make it possible, and the health also need lot of time as well as investment of money. Now the LORD God is speaking of the spiritual wine and milk unto the people of Israel that were spending money only for their carnal lust of flesh. The two kinds of spiritual things are in the word of promise of God that make their souls in fatness and gives the eternal joy, but they were only interest in filling their lust of flesh. At the same time, God is speaking unto carnal Christians the same message nowadays. The LORD God spoke again to make them understand this truth saying,

“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”(Isa. 55:10-13)

        The Holy Ghost spoke unto the churches of God through Apostle Peter, “Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls ….Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”(1Pet. 1:9; 2;1-5)

Yea! Israel has been chosen as the nation of priest, and the church of God has been blessed to be chosen as the royal priest to reign with Christ in his Millennium.

        Therefore, born again children of God that received the word of promise unto the church of God are able to live in the delight of soul in the true hope even in the midst of tribulation in the world. Apostle Paul testified of the blessing of the children of God living in the world saying, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”(Rom. 14:17) Amen! Hallelujah!
