금주의 묵상: 시편 111:10

본문: 창세기 14:1-16

제목: 하나님의 나라(왕국)에 유업이 있는 자와 없는자

       롯이 아브람을 떠나 소돔으로 간 후에 하나님께서 아브라함에게 다시 한 번 말씀하셨습니다. “이제 네 눈을 들어 네가 있는 곳에서부터 북쪽과 남쪽과 동쪽과 서쪽을 바라보라. 이는 네가 보는 모든 땅을 내가 네게 줄 것이며, 네 씨에게 영원히 주고 내가 네 씨를 땅의 티끌 같게 할 것임이니, 사람이 땅의 티끌을 셀 수 있다면 네 씨도 셀 수 있으리라. 일어나서 그 땅을 가로와 세로로 걸으라. 내가 그것을 네게 주었음이라.”(창 13:14-17) 이 말씀을 들은 후 아브람은 장막을 옮겨 헤브론에 있는 마므레 평지에 와서 거하며, 그곳에서 주를 위하여 제단을 쌓았습니다.

        하나님께서는 지금도 육신적인 그리스도인들을 영적인 그리스도인들로부터 분리시키신 후에 앞으로 받을 유업에 대하여 말씀하시는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 그분의 왕국에서 받을 유업인 통치권에 대하여 말씀하시는 것입니다.

       본문 말씀에서 왕들 간에 전쟁이 일어나서 소돔 왕과 그의 연합군이 패하게 되어 소돔과 고모라의 모든 재물과 그들의 모든 식량을 탈취해갔습니다. 이때에 소돔에 거하는 아브람의 형제의 아들인 롯과 그의 재물도 빼앗아갔습니다. 이 소식을 들은 아브람은 자기 집에서 태어난 훈련받은 종 삼백십팔 명을 무장시켜, 그들을 추격하여 단까지 가서 그들을 대항해서 그들을 치고 모든 재물을 다시 찾아오고 자기 형제 롯과 그의 재물과, 여자들과, 백성들도 다시 찾아왔습니다.

        그 당시 안일한 삶을 살았던 소돔과 고모라는 결국 전쟁에 질 수밖에 없었던 것입니다. 오늘날에도 육신적인 그리스도인들은 사탄의 공격에 힘없이 무너지는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 하나님께서는 남쪽 유다의 백성들이 하나님을 떠나 세상과 연합하여 안일한 삶을 살고 있을 때에 선지자 에스겔을 통하여 경고의 말씀을 주셨습니다: “주 하나님이 말하노라. 내가 살아있거니와 네 자매 소돔, 즉 그녀와 그녀의 딸들은 너와 네 딸들이 행했던 것처럼 행하지 아니하였도다. 보라, 이것이 네 자매 소돔의 죄악이니 자만과 양식의 충분함이라. 게으름의 풍성함이 그녀와 그녀의 손에 기운을 돋우어 주지 아니하였도다. 또, 그들은 교만하였고 내 앞에 가증한 것을 행하였기에 내가 잘 보고 그들을 제거하였느니라. 사마리아는 네 죄들의 절반도 범하지 아니하였으나 너는 네 가증한 것들을 그들보다 많이 행하였고 네가 행한 모든 가증함들로 네 자매들을 의롭게 하였도다.”(겔 16:48-51)

       이 경고의 말씀은 그 당시 사마리아보다도 더 가증한 일을 행했던 유다에 대한 경고의 말씀이지만 영적으로는 마지막 때 하나님의 교회에 대한 경고의 말씀이기도 한 것입니다. 사도 요한에게 나타나신 주 예수께서는 마지막 때에 나타날 라오디케아 교회의 천사에게 경고의 편지를 쓰게 했습니다:

“아멘이시요 신실하고 진실한 증인이시며, 하나님의 창조를 시작하신 분이 이 일들을 말씀하시느니라. 내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 차지도 아니하고 덥지도 아니하도다. 나는 네가 차든지 덥든지 하기를 원하노라. 네가 그처럼 미지근하여 차지도 아니하고 덥지도 아니하기 때문에 내가 너를 내 입에서 토해 내겠노라. 네가 말하기를 ‘나는 부자며, 부요하고, 아무 것도 부족한 것이 없다.’고 하지만 너는 비참하고, 가련하며, 가난하고 눈 멀고, 헐벗은 것을 알지 못하는도다. 내가 너에게 권고하노니 내게서 불로 단련된 금을 사서 부요하게 되고, 흰 옷을 사서 입음으로 너의 벌거벗은 수치를 드러내지 않게 하며, 또 안약을 네 눈에 발라 보게 하라. 내가 사랑하는 자마다 책망하고 징계하노니 그러므로 열심을 내고 회개하라. 보라, 내가 문 앞에 서서 두드리노라. 누구든지 내 음성을 듣고 그 문을 열면 내가 그에게로 들어가서 그와 함께 먹으며 그도 나와 함께 먹으리라. 이기는 자에게 내가 내 보좌에 나와 함께 앉을 자격을 주리니, 이는 내가 이겨서 내 아버지와 함께 그의 보좌에 앉은 것과 같으리라. 귀 있는 자는 성령께서 교회들에게 말씀하시는 것을 들을지어다.”(계 3:14-22)

       하나님께서 소돔과 고모라를 심판하시기 전에 아브람의 조카 롯에게 경고의 메시지를 주셨던 것입니다. 그러나 롯은 여전히 소돔에서 안일한 삶을 살기를 원했습니다. 자기 삼촌을 통하여 목숨과 재물을 보존한 롯은 여전히 현 세상같은 소돔 성에서 살기를 원했던 것입니다. 분명하 아브람은 조카 롯에게 자신과 함께 하나님께서 주신 땅에서 살 것을 권면했을 것입니다. 그러나 그는 하나님의 말씀을 따라 산악지대에서 불편한 삶을 살기 보다 육신적인 안일함을 추구했던 것입니다. 그의 영적인 눈이 멀게 됨으로써 조만간 하나님의 심판이 임하여 재가 될 소돔을 볼 수 없었습니다. 마찬가지로 오늘날 마지막 때 라오디케아 교회들은 현 세상에 임할 임박한 심판을 보지 못하는 것입니다.

        마침내 주님께서는 두 천사와 함께 아브라함을 찾아오셨습니다. 하나님의 말씀에 순종하는 영적인 사람 아브라함에게는 아들 이삭을 주시겠다는 축복의 말씀과 함께 “아브라함은 분명히 위대하고 막강한 민족이 될 것이며, 땅의 모든 민족들이 복을 받을 것이 아니냐?”(창 18:18)는 약속의 말씀을 주셨습니다. 그러나 주님께서 그를 찾아오신 두 번째 목적은 조카 롯이 살고 있는 소돔과 고모라에 심판을 행하시기 위한 것이었습니다. 주님께서는 마침내 심판을 행할 두 천사를 그곳으로 보내셨습니다. 소돔 성문에 앉아 있던 롯이 얼굴을 땅에 대고 절하며 천사들을 맞이했습니다. 그러나 때는 이미 늦었던 것입니다. 하나님의 심판이 임했다는 것을 안 아브라함은 조카 롯을 기억하면서 주님께 간구했습니다. 그러나 소돔과 고모라에는 의인이 열명도 되지 않는 죄악의 도성인 것을 알게 된 아브라함은 더 이상 주님께 간구할 수 없었습니다.

        아내와 자녀들과 많은 재물을 가지고 소돔에 들어갔던 롯은 결국 그의 모든 소유가 불에 타서 재가 되어버렷으며 출가한 딸들도 불 가운데서 소멸되었으며 자신의 아내 마저도 뒤를 돌아보다가 소금기둥이 되었던 것입니다. 같이 빠져 나왔던 두 딸들을 통하여 자신의 두 아들 모압과 암몬은 저주받은 민족이 되었던 것입니다. 그러나 성경은 롯이 의인이라고 말씀하고 있습니다:

“또 옛 세상을 아끼지 아니하셨으나 여덞 번째 사람인 의의 전파자 노아는 구원하시고 경건치 않은 자들의 세상에 홍수를 내리셨느니라. 또 소돔과 고모라 성읍들을 무너뜨림으로 정죄하여 재가 되게 하셔서 후세에 경건치 않게 살 자들에게 본을 삼으셨으며 또 사악한 자들의 음란한 행실로 인하여 고통당하는 의로운 롯을 건져내셨으니 (이는 그 의인이 그들 가운데 살면서 날마다 그들의 불법적인 행동을 보고 들음으로써 그의 의로운 혼이 고통을 당하였기 때문이니라.) 주께서는 어떻게 경건한 자들을 시험에서 건져 내시고 불의한 자들을 형벌에 처할 심판의 날까지 가두실 것을 아시느니라.”(벧후 2:5-9)

       롯은 자신의 혼의 구원은 받았지만 모든 것을 잃었던 것입니다. 오늘날 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 혼의 구원을 받은 두 종류의 그리스도인에 대하여 사도 바울은 고린도교회 성도들에게 편지할 때 그리스도의 심판석에서 그리스도인들이 그들이 한 일에 대하여 심판받게 되는 것에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“내게 주신 하나님의 은혜에 따라 내가 현명한 건축가와 같이 기초를 닦았더니 다른 사람이 그 위에 지으니라. 그러나 각 사람은 그 위에다 어떻게 지을지 주의해야 할 것이라. 이 닦아 놓은 기초 위에 아무도 다른 기초를 놓을 수 없나니 이 기초는 예수 그리스도시라. 이제 누구든지 이 기초 위에 금이나 은이나 보석이나 나무나 짚이나 그루터기로 지으면 각 사람의 일한 것이 나타나게 되리니 그 날이 그것을 밝힐 것이라. 이는 그것이 불로써 드러나고 또 그 불은 각 사람의 일한 것이 어떤 종류인지를 시험할 것이기 때문이라. 만일 어떤 사람의 일한 것이 세운 그대로 있으면 그는 상을 받을 것이요, 만일 어떤 사람의 일한 것이 불타 버리면 그는 손해를 당하리라. 그러나 그 자신은 구원을 받게 되지만 불에 의해서인 것처럼 그렇게 되리라.”(고전 3:10-15)

       그렇습니다! 성령으로 거듭난 하나님의 자녀들은 정죄받아 지옥에 가지는 않지만 그들이 몸으로 행한 일에 대한 심판을 받게 되는 것입니다. 금과 은과 보석은 타지 않는 일을 상징하며, 나무와 짚과 그루터기는 불에 타는 일을 상징하는 것입니다. 결국 타지 않는 일들은 하나님의 말씀을 따라 규칙대로 경기한 일들을 , 타는 것들은 하나님의 말씀과 상관없이 한 일들을 말하는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 규칙대로 경기하는 일에 대하여 디모데에게 증거했습니다:

“그런즉 너는 예수 그리스도의 훌륭한 군사로서 고난을 견뎌내라. 전쟁에 임하는 자는 아무도 이생의 일들에 얽매이지 아니하나니 이는 자기를 군사로 뽑은 자를 기쁘게 하려 함이라. 또 이기려고 애쓰는 사람이 규칙대로 하지 아니하면 면류관을 얻지 못하리라.”(딤후 2:3-5)

          주님께서도 두 종류의 사람에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다: “그러므로 나의 이 말을 듣고 행하는 사람은 자기 집을 반석 위에 지은 현명한 사람과 같아서 비가 내리고 홍수가 나며 바람이 불어 그 집에 들이쳐도 무너지지 아니하나니 그 집이 반석 위에 세워졌음이요, 나의 이말을 듣고 행하지 않는 자는 누구나 자기 집을 모래 위에 지은 어리석은 사람과 같으리니 비가 내리고 홍수가 나며 바람이 불어 그 집에 들이치면 무너지되 그 무너짐이 극심하리라.”(마 7:24-27)

         또한 유업의 상을 잃어버리게 되는 사람들에 대하여 사도 바울이 구체적으로 증거했습니다:

“너희가 이것을 알거니와 음행하는 자나 더러운 자나 욕심 많은 자, 곧 우상 숭배자는 누그든지 하나님과 그리스도의 왕국에서 상속받을 것이 없느니라. 아무도 너희를 속이지 못하게 하라. 이는 이런 일들 때문에 하나님의 진노가 불순종의 자녀들 위에 임하기 때문이라.”(엡 5:5,6)

“이제 육신의 일들은 분명히 나타나나니 곧 간음과 음행과 더러운 것과 음욕과 우상 숭배와 마술과 원수 맺음과 다툼과 질투와 분노와 투쟁과 분열과 이단들과 시기와 살인과 술 취함과 흥청거림과 또 그와 같은 것들이라. 내가 전에 말한 바와 같이 미리 말하노니 그런 짓들을 하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 상속받지 못할 것이라.”(갈 5:19-21)

       사도 요한도 계시록을 끝내면서 마지막 경고의 메시지를 전했습니다:

“그의 계명들을 행하는 자들은 복이 있나니, 이는 그들이 생명 나무에 대한 권리를 가지며 또 그 문들을 통하여 도성 안으로 들어가게 하려 함이니라. 그러나 개들과 마술사들과 음행자들과 살인자들과 우상 숭배자들과 누구든지 거짓말을 즐겨 행하는 자는 모두 다 바깥에 있으리라.”(계 22:14,15)

       주님께서 말씀하셨습니다: “롯의 아내를 기억하라!”(눅 17:32)

Meditation of the week: Psalms 111:1-10

Main scripture: Genesis 14:1-16

Subject: One that has inheritance in the kingdom of God, and one without inheritance

        The LORD God said unto Abram again, after that Lot was separated from him:

“Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and

westward:

For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.

Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.”(Gen. 13:14-17)

Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an alter unto the LORD.

        Even nowadays, God speak unto the spiritual Christian of their inheritance in the kingdom of God to receive in the future, after he separates the carnal Christian from spiritual one. In other word, God speak unto them of the reigning power in his kingdom.

        In the main passage, there was war among the kings. The king of Sodom and his allies were defeated by his enemies; and all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah with all their foods were taken by their enemies. And they took Lot, Abram’s brother’s son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods. When Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them. He brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.

          The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were dwelling in laziness pursuing comfortable life; there was no way for them to defeat their enemies at all. Nowadays, carnal Christians also fall down defeated in spiritual war fares when Satan attacks them. The LORD God warned the people of Judah when they were dwelling departed from him to be united with the world. Prophet Ezekiel testified:

“As I live, saith the Lord God, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and

in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.”(EZ. 16:48-51)

           The word of warning was spoken unto Judah that did more abomination more than Samaria. Spiritually, it is also the word of warning unto the churches of God in the last days. The Lord Jesus appeared unto Apostle John, and let him write the letter of warning unto the church of Laodiceans:

“These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”(Rv. 3:14-22)

       The LORD God gave a message of warning unto Lot before he judged Sodom and Gomorrah. But Lot still wanted to dwell in Sodom to pursue carnal comfort in laziness. He still wanted to dwell in Sodom exactly same as the present world, even after all his goods and life through his uncle, Abram. Abram must have encouraged Lot to dwell in the promised land by God. But he preferred to live in Sodom to live in the land of mountains in discomfort according to the word of God. He couldn’t see Sodom to be ashes through the judgment of God to come sooner or later with is eyes blinded spiritually. Even the churches of Laodiceans cannot see the judgment against the present world at the brink of the judgment of God.

        Finally, the LORD God visited Abram with two angels. They came to Abram to give a blessing message of the son, Isaac to be born, for he was a spiritual man that obey his words together with the word of promise saying, “Abraham shall surely become a great and might nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?”(Gen. 18:18)

The second purpose of their coming was to judge Sodom and Gomorrah where Lot was dwelling. The LORD sent the two angels to Sodom to judge them. Sodom sat in the gate of Sodom; and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them. But it was too late to return from the judgment. Abraham seek the LORD remembering Lot sincerely. But he couldn’t seek the LORD knowing less than ten righteous men in the city of Sodom.

        Finally Lot lost all of his goods burned to be ashes. His two married daughters were destroyed in the midst of fire to be ashes, and even his wife became a pillar of salt, for she looked back. Even the two daughters who escaped with Lot were ended up to be the mothers of Moab and Ammon that are cursed by God. But Lot is called a righteous

man as testified by the scripture:

“And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;

And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:”(2Pet. 2:5-9)

          Lot saved his own soul, but lost all things that he owned. Apostle Paul testified of two kinds of Christian that saved their souls by faith of the Lord Jesus Christ unto the church of Corinthians; he testified of their judgment of their works at the judgment seat of Christ;

“According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”(1Cor. 3:10-15)

          Yeah! The children of God born of the Spirit are not condemned to go to hell, but their works shall be judged. God and silver rand precious stone are the symbol of not burning works; the other tree are the things to be burn. Not burning works are the things done lawfully according to the word of God; the burning works are nothing to do with the word of God. Timothy testified of the works done lawfully:

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.”(2Tim. 2:3-5)

           Lord Jesus spoke of two kind of people:

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:”(Matt. 7:24-26)

27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

         Apostle Paul testified of them that lose the inheritance in the kingdom of God in details:

“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”(Eph. 5:5,6)

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are

these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”(Gal. 5:19-21)

           Apostle John gave us a warning message finalizing the book of Revelation saying:

“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”(Rev. 22:14,15)

           Lord Jesus said, “Remember Lot’s wife!”(Luke 17:32)

Amen! hallelujah!
