금주의 묵상: 시편 126:1-5

본문: 요한복음 4:35-38

제목: 하나님께서 기뻐 받으시는 추수 감사절의 의미

         하나님께서 땅에서 사람들이 먹는 음식을 창조하시면서 말씀하셨습니다.: “땅은 땅 위에 풀과 씨를 맺는 채소와 그 종류대로 열매 맺는 씨를 가진 과실 수를 내라.”(창 1:11) 그분께서 말씀하실 때, 땅이 풀과 그 종류대로 씨를 맺는 채소와 그 종류대로 열매 맺는 씨를 가진 나무를 즉시 내었으며, 하나님께서 보시기에 좋았습니다. 하나님께서는 사람들에게 씨를 주시고 심어서 거두라고 말씀하시지 않으셨습니다.

         그러나 첫 사람이 하나님께서 금하신 것을 먹고 범죄하였을 때 나타나셔서 그들에게 말씀하셨습니다:

“너로 인하여 땅은 저주를 받고 너는 너의 전 생애 동안 고통 중에서 그 소산을 먹으리라. 또 땅은 네게 가시나무와 엉겅퀴를 낼 것이요 너는 들의 채소를 먹을 것이며 네가 땅으로 돌아갈 때까지 네 얼굴에 땀을 흘려야 빵을 먹으리니, 이는 네가 땅에서 취해졌음이라. 너는 흙이니 너는 흙으로 돌아갈 것이니라.”(창 3:17-19)

           그때부터 지금까지 육천 년을 지내오면서 땅은 사람의 죄로 인하여 심지도 않은 가시나무와 엉겅퀴같은 잡초들로 무성한 황무지가 되어 얼굴에 땀을 흘리며 일구고 고생하지 않으면 먹을 것을 추수할 수 없게 된 것입니다.

             그러나 하나님께서는 마귀의 유혹으로 인하여 죄를 범하게 된 아담의 자손들을 죄와 사망과 저주로부터 구원하여 새로운 피조물로 만드셔서 하늘과 땅에 살게 하시기 위하여 계획을 세우셨습니다. 하나님께서는 태초에 말씀으로 계셨던 하나님이신 그의 독생자를 예수라는 이름으로 이 저주받은 땅에 보내셨습니다. 예수께서는 자신에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“한 알의 밀이 땅에 떨어져 죽지 아니하면 한 알 그대로 있지만 죽으면 많은 열매를 맺느니라. 자기 생명을 사랑하는 사람은 그것을 잃을 것이요, 이 세상에서 자기 생명을 미워하는 사람은 그것을 영생까지 보존하리라.”(요 12:24,25)

               다시말해서 아담의 죄로 인하여 죄와 사망과 저주 가운데 태어나는 모든 사람들을 자신의 모습으로 재창조하시기 위하여 자신이 아담이 뿌려놓은 모든 죄들과 사망과 저주를 자신에게 전가받아 한 알의 밀알처럼 땅에 뿌려지실 것을 말씀하신 것입니다. 또한 한 알의 밀알처럼 싹이 나셔서 부활하실 것을 말씀하신 것입니다. 하나님께서는 썩어질 것을 추수하는 일을 통하여 썩지 않고 죽지 않는 것을 추수하는 일을 말씀하신 것입니다. 또한 그분 자신이 썩지 않고 죽지 않는 추수의 첫 열매가 되신 것입니다. 또한 이 땅에서 추수되는 영적인 알곡들은 하나님의 나라 창고에 들이시는 것입니다. 침례인 요한은 이에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“그분은 손에 키를 들고 자기의 타작마당을 철저히 정결케 하실 것이며, 알곡은 모아서 창고에 들이고 쭉정이는 꺼지지 않는 불로 태우시리라.”(마 3:12)

       그렇습니다! 이 땅에 사는 동안 주 예수 그리스도를 믿어 영원한 생명을 얻어 새 피조물이 되는 사람들은 몸이 죽어 땅에 묻힌 후 한 알의 밀이 죽은 껍데기를 뚫고 싹이 나듯이 죽음 몸으로부터 생명이 나와 부활하게 되는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 부활에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“그러나 이제 그리스도께서는 죽은 자들로부터 살아나셔서 잠들었던 자들의 첫열매들이 되셨느니라. 사망이 사람으로 말미암은 것같이 죽은 자의 부활도 사람으로 말미암는도다. 이는 아담 안에서 모든 사람이 죽은 것같이 그리스도 안에서 모든 사람을 살게 하려 함이라. 그러나 각자 자기 서열대로 되리니 그리스도가 첫열매들이요, 그 다음은 그리스도께서 오실 때 그분께 속한 사람들이라.”(고전 15:20-23)

그리스도를 죽은 자들로부터 살아나신 “첫열매”가 아닌 “첫열매들”이라 말씀하시는 것은 그리스도께서 살아나셨을 때 잠자던 많은 구약성도들이 함께 부활하신 것을 말씀하신 것입니다.

           부활의 첫열매이신 그리스도께서 부활하셨을 때 그분과 함께 부활한 구약성도들에 대하여 사도 마태가 증거했습니다:

“에수께서 다시 큰 음성으로 소리지르신 후, 숨을 거두시더라. 그런데, 보라, 성전의 휘장이 위에서 아래까지 둘로 찢어지고 땅이 흔들리며, 바위들이 갈라지고 무덤들이 열리며 잠들었던 많은 성도들의 몸이 일어났으며 주께서 부활하신 후에 무덤에서 나와 거룩한 도성으로 들어가 많은 사람들에게 나타나더라. 백부장과 그와 함께 예수를 지키고 있던 사람들은 지진과 그 일어난 일들을 보고 크게 두려워하며 말하기를 ‘참으로 이 사람은 하나님의 아들이었도다.’라고 하더라.”(마 27:50-54)

               오늘 본문 말씀에서 예수님께서는 사마리아 여인이 구원받은 후 물동이를 버려두고 자신이 사는 성읍으로 들어가서 사람들에게 “와서 내가 행한 모든 일들을 내게 말한 그 사람을 보라. 그분이 그리스도가 아닌가?”(요 4:29) 외쳤을 때, 사람들이 성읍으로부터 나와 주께로 오는 것을 보시고 말씀하셨습니다:

“너희가 아직도 넉 달이 있어야 추수할 때가 된다고 말하지 아니하느냐? 보라, 내가 너희에게 말하노니 눈을 들어 밭을 보라. 이는 곡식이 추수하도록 하얗게 되었음이라. 또 거두는 사람은 삯을 받고 영원한 생명에 이르는 열매를 모으느니라. 이는 뿌리는 사람과 거두는 사람이 다 함께 즐거워하려 함이라. 이렇듯 한 사람은 심고 한 사람은 거둔다는 그 말이 옳도다. 나는 너희가 일하지 않은 것을 거두게 하려고 너희를 보내었노라. 일은 다른 사람들이 하였고 너희는 그들의 수고에 참여하였느니라.”(요 4:35-38)          

         예수님께서는 썩지 않는 열생의 열매를 추수하는 일꾼들이 부족함에 대하여 말씀하셨습니다:

“주께서 무리를 보시고 그들을 가엾게 여기시니, 이는 그들이 목자 없는 양같이 지치고 흩어졌음이라. 그때 주께서 제자들에게 말씀하시기를 ‘참으로 추수할 것은 많으나 일꾼들은 적구나. 그러므로 추수의주께 기도하여 추수할 일꾼들을 보내주소서 하라.”(마 9:36,37)

           그렇습니다! 사람들은 여전히 썩을 것들을 심고 추수하여 육신의 배를 채우는 일에는 분주히 살고 있지만 그리스도의 복음의 씨를 뿌려 영원히 썩지 않고 죽지 않는 영생의 열매를 추수하는 일에는 관심이 없는 것을 봅니다. 하나님께서는 자신의 피로 사신 교회에게 이 영적인 추수를 맡겨놓으신 것입니다. 그러나 대부분의 교회들은 추수감사절마다 영생의 열매를 드림으로써 감사하는 것보다 썩을 것들을 추수한 것만을 감사하는 것을 보는 것입니다. 문제는 자기 자신이 죽어 싹이 나서 영생의 열매를 맺는지 조차 관심이 없는 라오디게아 교회 시대가 된 것입니다.

           사도 바울은 고린도교회 성도들에게 편지할 때에 그들에게 영생의 열매를 거두는 일에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“그러나 어떤 사람들이 말하기를 ‘죽은 자들이 어떻게 일으켜지며 또 어떤 몸으로 오는가?’라고 말하니 너 어리석은 자야, 네가 뿌린 씨가 죽지 않으면 살아나지 못하리라. 또 네가 뿌리는 것은 앞으로 될 형체를 뿌리는 것이 아니라 밀이나 다른 씨앗의 알맹이일 뿐이나 하나님께서는 자기 뜻대로 씨앗에다 형체를 주시되 씨앗마다 그 고유한 형체를 주시느니라. 모든 육체가 다 같은 육체가 아니니 어떤 것은 사람의 육체요, 어떤 것은 짐승의 육체며, 어떤 것은 물고기의 육체요, 또 어떤 것은 새의 육체라. 또한 하늘에 속한 몸들도 있고 땅에 속한 몸들도 있으나 화늘에 속한 것들의 영광이 다르고 땅에 속한 것들의 영광도 다르니라. 하나는 해의 영광이요 또 하나는 달의 영광이며, 또 하나는 별들의 영광이니 이는 영광에 있어서 한 별이 다른 별과 다르기 때문이라. 죽은 자들의 부활도 이와 같으니 썩을 것으로 심겨서 썩지 아니하는 것으로 일으켜지며, 수치로 심겨서 영광된 것으로 일으켜지며 약한 것으로 심겨서 능력 있는 것으로 일으켜지며 육신의 타고난 몸으로 심겨서 영적인 몸으로 일으켜지느니라. 육신의 타고난 몸이 있고 또 영적인 몸이 있느니라.”(고전 15:35-44)

             이 땅에 아담의 후손으로 태어난 모든 사람은 예외 없이 때가 되면 호흡이 끊어져 땅 속에 묻혀야 하는 것입니다. 그러나 불행하게도 이 사실은 지식으로는 알면서도 실은 믿지 않는 삶을 살고 있는 것을 보게 됩니다. 이 세상 신인 마귀는 사람들로 하여금 먹고 사는 일에 분주하게 만들어서 자신이 조만간 땅 속에 묻히는 것조차 생각할 수 없게 만드는 것입니다. 심지어는 장례식에 가서 다른 사람의 몸이 땅에 묻히는 것을 보면서도 자신에 대해서는 실감하지 못하는 영적인 불감증에 사로잡혀 있는 것을 봅니다. 오래 전에 시편 기자인 다윗 왕인 그 당시에 사는 사람들을 보면서 안타까운 마음으로 증거했습니다:

“보소서, 주께서 내 날들을 손 너비만큼 주셨으므로 내 연수가 주 앞에서는 없는 것 같사오니 진실로 가장 좋은 상태에 있는 모든 사람도 다 헛될 뿐이니이다. 셀라. 진실로 사람마다 헛된그림자같이 걸어다니며 진실로 그들이 헛되이 분주하니 재물을 쌓으나 누가 그것을 가질지 알지 못하나이다. 주여, 이제 내가 무엇을 기다리겠나이까? 나의 소망은 주께 있나이다….오 주여, 주의 손인 사람들과 이생에서 자기들의 몫을 받은 세상 사람들로부터 나의 혼을 구하소서. 주께서 주의 감추신 보화로 그들의 배를 채우셨으니 그들은 자녀들로 가득하고 그들의 남은 재산을 자기들의 아기들에게 남겨 주나이다. 나, 나는 의 가운데서 주의 얼굴을 보리니 내가 깨면 주의 모습으로 만족하리이다.”(시 39:5-7; 17:14,15)

             주님께서 우리가 사는 동안에 오시지 않으시면 우리 모두의 몸도 땅 속에 한 알의 밀알처럼 땅에 묻혀서 썩어지게 될 것입니다. 그러나 안에 생명의 씨이신 그리스도의 영이 있는 사람은 누구나 씨가 있는 한 알의 밀이 싹이 나서 열매를 맺어 추수되는 것처럼 하늘 창고로 추수될것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 우리가 전한 복음을 듣고 구원받은 사람들도 우리와 함께 하늘 창고로 추수될 것입니다. 그리스도께서 공중에 나타나실 때 부활하여 휴거되는 우리들은 그리스도의 심판석 앞에 나아가서 우리가 뿌려서 영생의 열매를 거둔 것들에 대하여 주님께서 주시는 기쁨의 면류관(Crown of Joy)을 받게 될 것이며 또한 영원토록 추수감사를 주님께 드리게 될 것입니다.

              그러나 우리가 분명히 알아야 하는 것은, 이 땅에서 썩을 것을 심고 거두는 일에도 여러가지 어려움이 따르듯이 영생의 열매를 심고 거두는 일에는 썩을 것과는 비교할 수 없는 어려움이 오는 것을 명심해야 하는 것입니다. 이 세상 통치자인 마귀가 끊임없이 박해하기 때문입니다. 오래 전에 시편기자는 이렇게 증거했습니다:

“눈물로 씨를 뿌리는 자는 기쁨으로 거두리로다. 귀한 씨를 가지고 나가서 우는 자는 정녕 그의 단들을 가지고 돌아오리로다.”(시 126:5,6)

             이방인의 사도로 부름받은 사도 바울은 주님 앞에 가징 기쁨이 된 일에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“이는 나로 이방인들을 위한 예수 그리스도의 일꾼이 되게 하시어 하나님의 복음을 수행하게 하심으로써 이방인들을 제물(offering)로 드리는 일이 성령으로 거룩하게 되어 받으실 수 있도록 하심이라. 그러므로 내가 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님께 속한 그 일들에 대해 자랑할 것이 있느니라.”(롬 15:16,17)

           그렇습니다! 우리가 하나님께 드리는 제물들 가운데 가장 그분을 기쁘시게 하는 것은 복음을 전하여 거둔 영생의 열매를 그분께 드리는 일인 것입니다. 그러므로 진정한 추수감사는 죽은 사람들에게 복음을 통하여 구원받은 혼들을 주님께 드리는 추수감사인 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 126:1-5

Main scripture: John 4:35-38

Subject: Meaning of Thanksgiving Day accepted by God

           God created the foods from the ground, and said:

“Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.”)Gen. 1:11)

And the earth brought forth grass and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind; and God saw that it was good. God never said to sow the seed and reap.

        But when the first man sinned against God eating the fruit of forbidden tree, God spoke unto him:

“And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.”(Gen. 3:17-19)

             Since then until nowadays for six thousand years, there have been thorns and thistles never sown because of sin of the man; man has been eating bread in the sweat of face.

                But God planned to make the children of Adam new creatures through delivering them from sin and death and curses, and let them live in heaven and earth. God sent his only begotten Son who was the Word and God to the cursed earth in the name of Jesus. Jesus spoke about himself of what to do:

“Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”(John 12:24,25)

                 In other word, what he meant was for himself to be sown as a corn unto death to recreate all men as new creatures taking all curses unto his body to deliver them from sin and death and curses inherited from Adam; he also said, he shall rise again as a corn. God spoke about immortal and incorruptible harvest through corruptible harvest. And he himself became the first fruit of immoral and incorruptible harvest. And he will harvest the spiritual fruits from the earth, and he will take them to heavenly barn. John the Baptist testified of this:

“Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”(Matt. 3:12)

               Yeah! They that become new creatures through receiving eternal life by faith shall rise again from the dead body as a corn break the corrupted skin. Apostle Paul testified of resurrection of body:

“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.”(1Cor. 15:20-23)

He testified of “first fruits” instead of “first fruit”; the first fruits were the saints of the Old testament days resurrected from sleeping in the graves.

                Apostle Matthew testified of the resurrection of the old saints when Jesus rose again from the dead:

“Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the

rocks rent;

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.”(Matt. 27:50-54)

                  In the main passage given today, Jesus spoke unto his disciples upon seeing the people coming from the city when a woman shouted to the people of the city abandoning her water jar saying, “Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ.”(John 4:29):

“Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes,

and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.”(John 4:35-38)

                   Jesus spoke about the labors of harvesting the fruits of eternal life, for they are so little in number:

“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;”(Matt. 9:36,37)

             Yeah! People are still busy for sowing the corruptible things to harvest to fill their belly not any interest in sowing the seed of gospel to harvest the fruits unto the life eternal. God gave the mission of harvest unto the eternal life unto his church purchased by his blood. But unfortunately almost all churches are giving thanks only for the harvest of corruptible things rather than of the eternal life.

               Apostle Paul testified of the harvest of the fruit unto eternal life to the saints of Corinthians:

“But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:

And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:

But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body.

All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.”(1Cor. 15:35-44)

                All men born of Adam are going to be buried upon failure of breath sooner or later. But unfortunately people have the knowledge of this, but they are living as if they not believe. The Devil, the ruler of the present world is making them so busy that they have no time to think of their destiny unto death. King David testified of the people around him:

“Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.

And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee…… From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.”(Ps. 39:5-7; 17:14,15)

                 We shall also be buried as a corn into the ground to be corrupted, unless Jesus our Lord come. But whosoever has the Spirit of Christ within shall be harvested to the barn in heaven as a corn sprouted, and harvested. And they that are saved through the gospel that we preached shall also be harvest to heaven as us. We shall receive the crown of joy according to the fruits of eternal life harvested by us at the judgment sat of Christ when Jesus appears in the air, and we shall give thanksgiving unto God eternally.

                What we have to understand is that there shall be many kinds of troubles followed to sow and harvest the fruits unto eternal life. The Devil, the ruler of the present world never stop hindering us. The psalmist testified of this:

“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth bearing precious seed, shall doubtless came again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.”(Ps. 126:5,6)

             Apostle Paul called as an apostle of the Gentiles testified of the best joy unto God:

“Then I shoud be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.

I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God.”(Rom. 15:16,17)

             Yeah! The best offering for the Lord is to give the fruits of the eternal life harvested by preaching the gospel. Therefore, true Thanksgiving is to offer the souls saved through preaching the gospel unto the dead. Amen! Hallelujah!
