금주의 묵상: 시편 5:1-12

본문: 민수기 13:17-14:10

제목: 불신의 말과 믿음의 말의 열매

           하나님께서는 이스라엘 자손들의 조상 아브리함에게 약속하신 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 가나안 땅으로 인도하시기 위하여 모세를 부르셨습니다. 가나안 땅을 목전에 두고 모세가 열두 정탐꾼들을 그곳으로 보내서 땅을 탐지하게 했습니다. 그들 모두는 이스라엘 회중에게 소식을 가져오고 그 땅의 열매를 보여주었습니다. 포도송이 하나가 얼마나 큰지 두 사람이 막대기로 메고왔을 정도였습니다. 그들은 석류와 무화과도 가져왔습니다. 그들 중 열 사람은 흉보를 전하면서 회중에게 말했습니다:

“당신이 우리를 보냈던 그 땅에 우리가 갔더니, 과연 젖과 꿀이 흐르며 이것들은 그 땅의 열매니이다. 그러나 그 땅에 사는 백성은 튼튼하고 성읍들은 성벽으로 둘러있고 매우 컸으며 뿐만 아니라 우리가 거기에서 아낙 자손을 보았나이다…..우리가 능히 올라가서 그 백성을 칠 수 없으리니 그들이 우리보다 더 강함이라….우리가 탐지하러 갔던 그 땅은 그 거민들을 삼키는 땅이요, 거기에서 우리가 보았던 백성은 키가 큰 사람들이었으며 또 우리가 거기에서 거인들을 보았는데 거인들에게서 태어난 아낙 자손들이라. 우리들의 눈에도 우리가 메뚜기들 같았으며 그들의 눈에도 우리가 그와 같았을 것이라.”(민 13:27-28, 31-33)

그들 중 한 사람인 칼렙은 모세 앞에서 백성을 안정시키며 말했습니다: “우리가 당장 올라가서 그것을 차지하자. 이는 우리가 능히 이길 수 있음이라.

           이들의 말을 들은 이스라엘 백성들의 모든 회중이 목소리를 높여 부르짖으며 그 밤에 울면서 모세와 아론에게 불평하면서 “차라리 우리가 이집트 땅에서 죽었더라면! 아니면 우리가 광야에서 죽었더라면! 어찌하여 주께서 우리를 이 땅으로 데려다가 칼에 쓰러지게 하시며 우리의 아내들과 우리의 자식들이 먹이가 되게 하시는가? 우리가 이집트로 돌아가는 것이 더 낫지 아니하냐? 우리가 한 대장을 세워서 이집트로 돌아가자.”(민 14:1-4)

이때 모세와 아론은 이스라엘 온 회중의 집회 앞에서 엎드렸습니다.

           그러나 그들 중 칼렙과 여호수아는 육신의 눈으로 본 대로 말하지 않고 믿음의 눈으로 본 것을 말했습니다. 이때에 눈의 아들 여호수아와 여푼네의 아들 칼렙이 그들의 옷을 찢고 믿음으로 회중에게 말했습니다:

“우리가 탐지하러 다녀 본 땅은 아주 좋은 땅이라. 만일 주께서 우리를 기뻐하시면, 그가 우리를 이 땅으로 데려다가 그것을 우리에게 주시리니, 곧 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅이라. 오직 너희는 거역하지 말며 또한 너희는 그 땅의 백성을 두려워하지 말라. 그들은 우리의 밥이요, 그들의 보호자는 그들에게서 떠났으나, 주께서는 우리와 함께 계시니, 그들을 두려워 말라.”(민 14:7-9)

그러나 모든 회중이 그들을 돌로 치라고 말하자, 주의 영광이 회중의 성막에서 이스라엘 모든 자손에게 나타났습니다.

         그렇습니다! 하나님께서는 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 믿는 사람들이 보는 것을 행하지 않고 믿음으로 행하면서 말할 때 하나님의 영광이 나타나는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 성령 안에서 증거하기를, 육신적으로 생각하는 것은 사망이나 영적으로 생각하는 것은 생명과 화평이니라. 육신적인 생각은 하나님과 원수가 되나니 그것은 하나님의 법에 복종하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 실로 할 수도 없음이라. 그러므로 육신 안에 있는 자들은 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없느니라. 그러나 하나님의 영이 너희 안에 거하시면 너희가 육신 안에 있지 아니하고 성령 안에 있나니 이제 누구든지 그리스도의 영이 없으면 그의 사람이 아니니라.”(롬 8:6-9)

         솔로몬 왕도 그의 잠언에서 증거했습니다:

“사람을 두려워하면 덫에 걸리나, 주를 신뢰하는 자는 누구나 안전하니라.”(잠 29:25)

그 당시 여호수아와 칼렙 외에 이집트에서 나온 이스라엘의 모든 회중 사람들은 카나안 땅에 사는 거인들을 두려워함으로 스스로 덫에 걸리게 되었던 것입니다. 이집트 땅에서 나온 모든 사람들은 그 땅을 탐지한 하루를 일 년으로 계산해서 사십 년 동안 광야에서 방황하다가 그들의 말대로 모두 광야에서 쓰러져 죽게 되었습니다. 그러나 야호수아와 칼렙 두 사람만 카나안 땅에 들어가서 안전하게 거할 수 있었습니다.

         하나님께서는 솔로몬 왕을 통하여 아주 중요한 말씀을 하셨습니다:

“열심을 다하여 네 마음을 지키라. 이는 삶의 문제들이 거기서 나옴이라. 자기의 입을 지키는 자는 생명을 지키나, 입술을 크게 벌리는 자는 멸망을 당하리라. 어리석은 자의 입은 그의 멸망이요, 그의 입술은 그의 혼의 덫이니라. 사람의 배는 자기 입의 열매로 부르게 될 것이며 입술에서 나는 것으로 채워지리라. 너는 네 입의 말들로 덫에 걸렸으며, 네 입의 말들로 잡힌 것이니라. 사람이 입의 열매로 좋은 것을 먹겠으나, 범죄자들의 혼은 폭력을 먹으리라. 자기의 입을 지키는 자는 생명을 지키나, 입술을 크게 벌리는 자는 멸망을 당하리라.”(잠 4:23; 13:3; 18:7,20;6:2;13:2;13:3)

           그렇습니다! 삶의 모든 문제들이 입술로부터 흘러나오는 말로 시작되는 것입니다. 하나님의 영이 있는 사람은 한 마디 한 마디 말이 성령께서 말하게 하심을 따라 말해야 하는 것입니다. 육신의 생각으로 말하게 되면 스스로 덫에 걸리게 되어 사망에 이르게 되는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 육신의 말로 인해서 고통이 따르게 되는 것입니다. 또한 그 고통의 열매를 자신이 먹을 수밖에 없는 것입니다. 사도 베드로는 하나님의 자녀들에게 어떤 말을 하면 살아야 하는지에 관해서 권면했습니다:

“만일 누가 말하려거든 하나님의 말씀처럼 말하고, 또 누가 섬기려거든 하나님께서 공급하시는 능력으로 하는 것처럼 하라. 이는 모든 일에 예수 그리스도로 말미암아 하나님께서 영광을 받으시게 하려 함이니, 그분께 찬양과 권세가 영원무궁토록 있느니라, 아멘.”(벧전 4:11)

         사도 바울은 고린도 교회 성도들에게 삶 속에서 어떻게 행해야 하는지에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“이는 우리가 믿음으로 행하고 보는 것으로 행하지 아니함이라.”(고후 5:7)

그가 증거한 것은 앞으로 그들이 육신의 장막을 벗어버리고 죽지 않고 썩지 않는 영화로운 몸을 입고 가게 될 하늘의 집이 육신의 눈에는 보이지 않지만 믿음의 눈으로 보면서 생각하고 또한 믿음의 고백을 하면서 살아가는 사람들이라고 증거한 것입니다.

           하나님의 모든 말씀들은 하나님의 백성들과 자녀들에게 주신 약속의 말씀입니다. 그러므로 우리는 삶 가운데서 육신의 눈에 보이는 대로 생각하면서 말하지 말고 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 믿음으로 생각하고 믿음의 생각을 입술로 고백하는 삶을 살아야 하는 것입니다. 하나님의 모든 말씀들은 창조의 능력이 있습니다. 하나님께서 말씀하실 때 하늘들과 땅과 모든 만물들이 생겨났습니다.

           하나님의 영을 받은 하나님의 자녀들은 육신의 생각들을 버리고 성령께서 주시는 생각을 입술의 말로 고백할 때 당장은 눈에 보이지는 않으나 때가 되면 나타나게 되는 것입니다. 그리스도께서 나타나시는 날과 그리스도의 심판석과 어린양의 혼인식과 또한 천년왕국에서 그리스도와 공동상속자들로서 통치하는 날을 바라보면서 생각하고 고백하면서 살게 될 때에 어느날 갑자기 그 날이 나타나게 될 것입니다.

           그러므로 사도 바울은 히브리인들에게 믿음에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“이제 믿음은 바라는 것들에 대한 실상이요, 보이지 않는 것들에 대한 증거니, 원로들이 그것으로써 좋은 평판을 얻었느니라. 믿음으로 우리는 세상들이 하나님의 말씀으로 지어진 것을 깨닫나니 보이는 것들은 나타난 것으로 된 것이 아니니라….믿음으로 에녹은 죽음을 보지 않고 옮겨졌으니, 하나님께서 그를 옮기셨으므로 다시 보이지 아니하니라. 그는 옮기우기 전에 하나님을 기쁘시게 하였다는 이 증거를 지녔느니라. 그러나 믿음이 없이는 하나님을 기쁘시게 할 수 없나니, 하나님께 나아가는 자는 그분이 존재하시는 것과 그분이 자기를 열심히 찾는 자들에게 보상하는 하나님이심을 마땅히 믿어야 하는 것이니라.”(히 11:1,2,5)

             하나님은 사랑이십니다. 그러나 그분께서는 또한 공의로우신 분이십니다. 그분을 믿고 신뢰하는 사람들에게는 한없는 은혜와 자비를 베푸시지만 그분을 신뢰하지 않는 사람들에게는 대적하시는 분이신 것을 명심해야 하는 것입니다. 이집트에서 나온 수백만이나 되는 이스라엘 백성 회중들 가운데 여호수아와 칼렙 단 두 사람만을 제외하고 모든 사람들을 그들의 불신의 고백대로 광야에서 다 쓰러져 죽게 하셨습니다. 수백만의 사람들이 육신적인 생각으로 불평한 말을 들으시고 그들이

말한대로 그들 모두를 광야에서 죽게 하신 것입니다. 그러나 여호수아와 칼렙이 하나님과 회중 앞에서 믿음으로 고백하는 말을 들으시고 하나님께서 영광 가운데 나타나셨으며 그들은 그들의 입술의 고백대로 카나안 땅에 들어감으로써 입술의 열매를 먹을 수 있었던 것입니다. 그들은 사람을 두려워하지 않고 하나님의 약속의 말씀을 신뢰함으로써 카나안 땅에 들어가서 안전하게 거할 수 있었던 것입니다.

         그러므로 우리는 항상 하나님의 말씀을 들으며 읽으며 묵상함으로써 어떤 환경이 닥치더라도 하나님의 말씀에 따라 영적으로 생각함으로써 믿음의 고백을 함으로써 하나님을 기쁘시게 하여 입술의 열매를 먹는 축복된 삶을 살아야 하는 것입니다. 사도 바울이 데살로니가 교회 성도들애개 증거한 것처럼 그리스도 예수 안에서 우리에게 주신 하나님의 뜻은 “항상 기뻐하라. 쉬지 말고 기도하라. 모든 일에 감사하라.”는 것입니다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 5:1-12

Subject: The fruits of word of unfaith and of faith

         The LORD God called Moses to lead the people of Israel to the promised land flowing with milk and honey that was promised unto Abraham, their forefather. Moses sent twelve spies to the land of Canaan to search the land. They brought back word unto them; and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. One bundle of grape was so great that they had to bear a branch of the cluster of grapes between two men upon a staff. They also brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. Ten of the twelve told the congregation of the people with bad report saying,

“ We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there….. We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”(Num. 13:27,31-33)

But Caleb one of the twelve spies stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.”

           Upon hearing their report, all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and people wept that night. They murmured against Moses and against Aaron, and they said unto them: “ Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! And wherefore hath the Lord brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.”(Num. 14:1-4)

Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

          On the other hand, Joshua and Caleb didn’t say according to what they saw with their eyes, bur said what they saw with the eyes of faith. When Joshua declared the word of faith, the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel. Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh tore their clothes, and said unto them:

“The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.”(Num. 14:7-9)

But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

            Yeah! The glory of God appears when man of faith that believe on the word of promise of God walk by faith, not by sight, and say of the word of faith. Apostle Paul testified of this in the Spirit:

“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”(Rom. 8:6-9)

             King Solomon testified of this in his Proverbs: “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.”(Prov. 29:25)

At that time, all the people of the congregation of the people of Israel that came out of Egypt except Joshua and Caleb feared the giant living in Canaan; and they brought snare against them. All the people had to wandered in the wilderness for forty years calculating one day of searching the lad as one year unto death as they said. But only Joshua and Caleb could enter the promised land to live in safety.

              The LORD God spoke of something very important through king Solomon:

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life…. He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction…. A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul…. A man’s belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled…. Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth…. A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence. He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.“(Prov.4:23;13:3;18:7,20;6:2;13:2;13:3)

         Yeah! All the issues of life start from the words flowing out from the lip. Therefore, they that have the Spirit of God have to say in each word according to the utterance given by the Holy Spirit. If they say of the carnal mind, they bring a snare unto death. In other word, the carnal word is followed by pain; and the fruit of pain is to be eaten by them. Apostle Peter encouraged unto the children of God of the word to be spoken:

“If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”(1Pet. 4:11)

             Apostle Paul also encouraged unto the saints of Corinthians how to walk in the daily life:

“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”(2Cor. 5:7)

What he testified was that they are walking in the faith looking forward the heavenly house which they are on the way being clothed with immortal and incorruptible body gloriously putting off the corruptible, even though they couldn’t see with their eyes.

            All the words of God are the words of promises given unto the people of God as well as his children. This is the reason why we not say thinking according to seeing with our eyes, but confess of the thoughts of faith with our lips believing on the words of God. All the words of God have the power of creation. heavens and earth were created when the LORD God said.

            The children of God have to forsake the thought of flesh and to confess the thoughts through the Holy Ghost. Then it is matter of time before realized, even though we cannot see right away. Looking forward the day of Christ, and the judgment seat of Christ, and the wedding of the Lamb of God, and the day of reigning with Christ as the joint heirs in the Millennium kingdom, we think of them and confess of faith until the days shall appear before our eyes.

            Therefore Apostle Paul testified of the faith unto the Hebrew: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report…. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”(Heb. 11:1,2,5)

             God is love as well as righteousness. He gives unlimited grace and mercy unto them that trust in him with faith, but against them that never trust in him. The LORD God abandoned the multi-millions of people unto death in the wilderness that came out of Egypt only except Joshua and Caleb. The LORD God heard their murmuring of the carnal thoughts, and let them die as they said before him. But the LORD God also heard of the word of faith from Joshua and Caleb, he appeared in his glory, and they could enter the land of Canaan as their confession of faith of their lips. They ate the fruit of their lips. They not fear men but trusted in the words of promise of God so that they could dwell safe in the land of Canaan.

             Therefore we have to hear the words of God and read them and meditate to think spiritually according to the words of God in all circumstances so that we may be able to eat the fruits of lips pleasing God through confession of faith. The will of God in Christ Jesus toward us is as Apostle Paul testified unto the saints of Thessalonians:

“Rejoice evermore.

Pray without ceasing.

In every thing give thanks:”
