금주의 묵상: 시편130:1-8

본문: 에베소서 4:17-24

제목: 그리스도 안에서 거룩하게 창조된 새 사람을 입으라!

         우리가 구원받기 전에는 옛 사람 아담으로 옷을 입고 태어났습니다. 그러나 주 예수 그리스도께서는 우리의 원수되었던 것, 곧 법령 안에 속한 계명들의 율법까지도 그의 육신 안에서 폐기하셨습니다. 그분께서는 자신을 믿는 유대인과 이방인 둘을 자기 안에서 한 새 사람으로 창조하셔서 둘을 자신 안에서 화평케 하셨습니다 (엡 2:15).

       그러므로 누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물인 것입니다. 다시 말해서 우리를 십자가 위에 못박히신 그리스도 안에서 이미 죽이시고 주 예수 그리스도를 믿었을 때 그분을 죽은 자로부터 살리신 하나님의 영을 주셔서 우리 또한 영적으로 이미 부활하게 하신 것입니다. 영적으로 부활한 영이 죽은 몸 안에 살고 있는 것입니다.

        이제 구원받은 우리들의 옛 것들은 이미 지나가 버린 것입니다. 이제는 모든 것이 새로워졌습니다. 모든 만물들이 하나님께로부터 난 것처럼 하나님께서는 죄로 인하여 우리와 원수되신 것을 예수 그리스도의 보혈을 통하여 그분 스스로 우리와 화해하셨고 이제 우리는 하나님과 화해하여 그분께로부터 다시 태어나게 하신 것입니다. 또한 새로 태어난 우리의 모습을 보여줌으로로써 세상사람들로 하여급 하나님과 화해하게 하는 그리스도를 대신한 대사들로 임명받은 것입니다. 그러므로 우리는 모든 것이 새롭게 된 우리의 모습을 보여주어야 하는 것입니다.

        그러므로 사도 바울은 에베소 교회 성도들에게 새 사람, 곧 예수 그리스도로 옷 입으라고 권면하고 있는 것입니다. 어린 아기가 태어난다고 해서 당장 사람 노릇을 하지 못하는 것처럼, 예수 그리스도를 믿어 성령으로 다시 태어났다고 해서 당장 예수 그리스도처럼 살 수가 없는 것입니다.

         아담의 자손으로 태어나는 사람들이 자라면서 자신이 태어난 저주받은 세상으로부터 주는 것을 받아먹으면서 옛 사람 아담처럼 자라가면서 범죄한 옛 사람 아담으로 옷 입는 것처럼 성령으로 다시 태어난 사람들 역시 영적으로 자라가면서 그리스도로 옷입어야 하는 것입니다.

         옛 사람 아담의 옷은 죄와 저주와 사망이라는 옷을 입게 되지만 새 사람 예수 그리스도의 옷은 의와 축복과 생명의 옷을 입게 되는 것입니다. 우리가 구원받기 전에는 옛 사람 아담의 자손으로서 영은 죽어서 태어났고 혼은 죄로 인해 영원히 불못에서 파멸되는 운명을 가지고 살면서 육신도 소망 없이 병들고 늙어 죽어가는 운명 속에서 살았던 것입니다. 온 영과 혼과 몸이 삼위일체로 죄와 사망과 저주 가운데 있는 사람은 새 사람이신 예수 그리스도로 옷입을 수 없는 것입니다.

              그러나 우리가 구원받은 후에 성령을 통하여 하나님께로부터 다시 태어났을 때, 우리의 영은 다시 소생되었으며 우리의 혼도 구원받아서 더 이상 지옥에서 영원히 파멸되는 저주로부터 구원받았던 것입니다(벧전 1:9). 그러나 우리의 몸은 여전히 죄의 몸이지만 하나님께서는 그리스도를 대신한 대사로서의 삶을 살게 하시려고 그리스도의 할례를 통하여 우리의 혼이 더 이상 죽을 몸을 입지 않고 영적으로 죽을 몸을 벗어버리게 하신 것입니다. 사도 바울은 이 영적 할례에 대하여 증거했습니다: “그분 안에는 신격의 모든 충만함이 몸의 형태로 거하시나니 너희도 모든 정사와 권세의 머리이신 그의 안에서 온전하게 되느니라. 또한 너희가 그의 안에서 손으로 하지 아니한 할례를 받았으니 곧 그리스도의 할례로 육신의 죄들의 몸을 벗어버린 것이라. 너희가 침례로 그와 함께 장사되었고 또 하나님께서 그를 죽은 자들로부터 살리신  역사를 믿음으로 말미암아 너희도 그와 함께 살아났느니라.”(골 2:9-12)

        예수 그리스도와 함께 죽음을 통하여 옛 사람 아담의 옷을 벗어버린 우리는 그분께서 오실 때까지 새 사람이신 주 예수 그리스도로 옷입어야 하는 것입니다. 새로 태어난 아이가 잠시 동안만 부모가 입혀주는 옷을 입다가 자라면서 스스로 자신이 필요한 옷을 찾아서 입는 것처럼  구원받은 하나님의 자녀들 역시 그러한 영적인 삶을 살아야 하는 것입니다. 사도 배드로는 먼저 하나님의 자녀들이 영적으로 자라야 하는 것에 대하여 증거했습니다: “그러므로 모든 악의와 모든 속임수와 위선과 시기와 온갖 비방하는 말을 버리고 갓난 아기들로서 순수한 말씀의 젖을 사모하라. 이는 너희가 그것으로 인하여 자라게 하려 함이라.”(벧전 2:1-2)

         사도 바울은 하나님의 자녀들이 주 예수 그리스도께서 오실 때까지 온 영과 혼과 몸이 책망할 것이 없께 보존 되기를 하나님께 기도한다고 데살로니가 교회 성도들에게 말했습니다.

         그렇습니다! 구원받은 하나님의 자녀들이 이 세상에 살면서 소망하는 것은 오로지 그분께서 오실 때를 기다리는 것입니다. 성령으로 다시 태어난 하나님의 교회는 성령을 통하여 주 예수 그리스도와 약혼한 신부이기에 당연한 것입니다. 그분은 남편이시자 우리의 형제요 친구가 되시는 것입니다. 첫 사람의 죄로 인해 저주받은 악한 현 세상에서 사는 것(Dwell)이 아니라 잠시 기거하는(Sojourn) 삶을 살아야 하는 것입니다.

          그렇다면 우리의 온 영과 혼과 몸이 주 예수 그리스도께서 오실 때까지 책망 받을 것이 없는 삶을 살야야 하는지에 대하여 깊히 묵상해 보아야 할 것입니다.

          구원받은 우리의 영은 이미 살아나서 우리 주님처럼 살려주는 영이 되었습니다. 우리 육신의 조상 첫 사람 아담은 살아있는 혼이었지만 마지막 아담이신 주님은 살려주는 영이신 것입니다(고전 15:45). 주님께서는 살리는 것은 영이니 육은 전혀 무익하며, 자신이 하신 모든 말씀들이 영이요, 생명이라고 말씀하셨습니다(요 6:63).

       우리의 영이 책방받을 것이 없기 위해서는 마치 우리가 주님의 살을 먹는 것처럼 우리의 영이 영이신 하나님의 모든 말씀들을 다 먹어야 하는 것입니다. 다시 말해서 우리의 영이 성령으로 충만해야 하는 것입니다. 하나님의 모든 말씀은 하나님의 영감으로 된 것이기 때문에 하나님의 말씀으로 충만하게 될 때에 우리의 영이 성령으로 인도받게 되는 것입니다. 또한 우리의 영이 말씀으로 충만하게 될 때에 새 사람이신 그리스도로 옷입게 되는 것입니다.

       그러면, 우리의 혼이 책망받지 않기 위해서는 어떤 삶을 살아야 하는지 말씀을 통하여 깨달을 수 있는 것입니다. 사도 베드로는 우리의 혼이 예수 그리스도로 옷입는 것에 대하여 증거했습니다: “너희가 성령을 통하여 진리에 순종함으로써 너희 혼들을 정결케 하여 가식 없는 형제 사랑에 이르렀으니 순결한 마음으로 서로 뜨겁게 사랑하라.”(벧전 1:22)

        또한 사도 바울은 우리의 몸이 그리스도로 옷입는 것에 대하여 증거했습니다:

“이전 행실에 관해서는 기만과 욕망에 따라 썩어진 옛 사람을 버리고 너희 생각의 영 안에서 새롭게 되어 하나님을 따라 의와 참된 거룩함 안에서 창조된 새 사람을 입으라.”(엡 4:22-24)

        또한 그는 하나님의 자녀들의 몸에 대하여 증거할 때에, “음행을 피하라. 사람이 범하는 죄마다 몸 밖에 있지만 음행하는 자는 자기 몸에 죄를 짓는 것이니라. 또한 너희 몸은 너희가 하나님으로부터 받은 바 너희 안에 계신 성령의 전인 것을 알지 못하느냐? 너희는 너희 자신의 것이 아니니라. 너희는 값을 치르고 산 것이니 그러므로 하나님의 것인 너희 몸과 너희 영으로 하나님께 영광을 돌리라.”(고전 6:18-20)고 고린도 교회 성도들에게 편지했습니다.

        우리의 육신도 영양소들이 균형을 잃을 때에 면역력이 떨어져서 모든 질명의 원인이 되는 것처럼 우리의 영적인 삶도 영적인 영양소, 곧 하나님의 말씀들이 우리 영 안에 부족하게 되어 영적인 힘을 잃게 되면 여러 가지 영적인 질병에 걸리게 되는 것입니다. 우리 육신도 단백질이 부족하게 되면 면역력이 떨어지게 되어 육신의 에너지를 잃어버리는 것처럼 구원받은 우리도 우리에게 영적인 면역력과 힘을 주는 하나님의 말씀들이 결핍되어 영적인 균형이 깨지게 될 때에 우리를 공격하는 마귀에게 틈을 주게 되는 것입니다. 뿐만 아니라 영적 전쟁에서 패함으로써 많은 손해를 당하게 되는 것입니다.

       주님께서는 우리 모두가 그리스도의 보혈과 생명의 말씀들과 성령의 능력을 통해서 하나님께서 주신 전신갑옷을 입음으로써 그리스도로 옷 입기를 기뻐하시는 것입니다. 아멘!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 130:1-8

Main scripture: Ephesians 4:17-24

Subject: Put on the new man, which is created in righteousness and true holiness

         We were born putting on the old man, Adam before we were saved. But the Lord Jesus Christ has abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances. He has made both of the Jew and the Gentiles creating a new man in him, and made them in peace each other in him. (Eph. 2:15)

         Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. In other word, God crucified us to death in Christ with him on the cross; and he quickened us spiritually giving us his Spirit when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our spirit quickened spiritually is dwelling in our mortal body.

        Now old things are passed away since we were saved. All things are new. As all things are of God, we also are born of God in the reconciliation unto God from the enmity with him through the blood of Jesus Christ. Now we are the ambassadors for Christ so that we make the world to be reconciled with God showing us as a new man born of God.

         This is the reason why Apostle Paul encouraged to put on the new man unto the saints of Ephesians. As a new born baby cannot behave as a man right away, even a born again Christian of the Spirit cannot live as a new man, Jesus Christ right away either.

        As men born in Adam are putting on the old man, Adam that sinned growing in the world, men born of the Holy Ghost are putting on Christ as they grow spiritually.

         The clothes of Adam, the old man are of sin and of death and of curse, the ones of the new man, Jesus Christ are of righteousness and of blessing and of life. Before we were saved, we were dead spiritually, and our soul was destinated to be destroyed forever in the lake of fire as well as our body without any hope suffering from diseases getting old unto death. One that live in sin and death and curse in the trinity of spirit and soul and body cannot put on the new man, Jesus Christ.

        When we were born again of God through the Holy Ghost by the salvation, our spirit was revived as our soul was saved to be delivered from the hell forever anymore(1Pet. 1:9) Knowing our body still of sin, God let us put off the body of sin through the circumsicion of Christ so that we are no more putting on the mortal body so that we may be able to do as the ambassadors of Christ. Apostle Paul testified of the spirituall circumsicion:”For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power. In whom also ye are circumcised of the circumsicion made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ. Buired with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen wwith him, having forgiven you all trespasses.”(Col. 2:9-12)

         We have put off the cloth of Adam that is the old man through the death of Jesus Christ; now we have to put on the new man, Jesus Christ. As new born baby is taken care by the parents for putting on clothes for the time being before he is matured to do by himself, the children of God have to grow spiritually. Apostle Peter testified of the growth of the children of God:

“Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil sspeakings, as new born babies, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.”(1Pet. 2:1-2)

         Apostle Paul testified unto the saints of Thessalonians saying, he pray God their whole ssssspirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ(1Thess. 5:23).

       Yeah! The only hope of the children of God is to wait for his comin, because he church of God born of the Holy Ghost is engaged as the bride of Christ through the Holy Ghost.  he is our husband as well as our brother and friend. We are not to dwell in the ccursed world, but to sojourn here momentarily.

       Then, we have to meditate deeply of the life to make our spirit and soul and body blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ come back.

       Our spirit has already become the quickening spirit as our Lord risen with him. The first man, Adam our father in the blood was a living soul, but Jesus Christ that is the last Adam is the quickening spirit (1Cor. 15:45). Jesus spoke unto his disciples, it is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63).

       Not to be blameless our spirit, our spirit has to eat all the words of God as we eat his flesh. In other word, our spirit should be filled with the Holy Ghost. All the scripture is given by inspiration of God; and our spirit is to be led by the Spirit of God when we are filled with the words of God. And when our spirit is filled with the words of God, we are to put on the new man, Jesus Christ.

           We also are to understand of our soul to be blameless through the word of God. Apostle Peter testified of the way that our soul put on Jesus Christ:

“Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervantly.”(1Pet. 1:22)

        Apostle Paul testified of the way to make our body put on Christ: “That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”(Eph. 4:22-24)

         He also testified of the body of the children of God once again unto the saints of Corinthians: “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which  is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye ar bought wwith a prise; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s”(1Cor. 6:18-20)

        As we are to be in sickness when when nutritions are not in balance, our spiritual life are also to be in trouble when the spiritual nutritions that are the words of God are needy seriously. When our body is lack of protein, we are to be weak immune system within the body to lose energy In the same manner, when we are lack of the words of God that provide the spiritual immune system, we are in danger of attack from the Devil because of imbalance of our spiritual power. And we are to suffer from spiritual loss through the losing in the spiritual warfare.

       Our Lord is pleased to see us when we are putting on Christ through wearing the whole armor of God through the blood of Christ and words of life and the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen! Hallelujah!
