금주의 묵상: 시편 16:1-11

본문: 욥기 14:1-22

제목: 우리에게 온전히 계시된 복된 소망

           사천 여 년 전에 살았던 욥의 고백을 통하여 복음이 계시되지 않았던 시대에 살았던 사람들의 모습을 통해 이 시대에 살고 있는 우리들에게 주신 은혜가 얼마나 큰지 다시 한 번 감사하게 됩니다.

          그는 인생이 너무도 짧은데 그것도 고통으로 가득 차 있으며 잠시 피어나다 갑자기 시들어 잘라져 버리고 그런 뒤에는 하나님의 심판을 보게 되며,  또한 사람의 마음이 더러우며 이로 인하여 깨끗한 것이 들어올 수도 없으며 사람이 죽을 날도 알 수 없고 다만 하나님께서 정해 놓으신 날이 지나면 어느 날 갑자기 떠나야 하는 운명에 처하게 된다고 고백했습니다.

        이제 그는 나무들을 바라보면서 그들 역시 사람들처럼 때가 되면 베이게 되지만 베이고 난 후에 다시 싹이 나서 연한 가지를 끊임 없이 만들고 있으며, 그 뿌리가 땅에서 늙고 그 줄기가 땅에서 죽어도 물의 기운을 통하여 움이 돋고 식물처럼 가지가 나오는 것을 보면서 사람이 얼마나 허무하게 지어졌는지에 대하여 한탄하는 말을 하고 있습니다: “그러나 사람은 죽으면 소멸되나니 참으로 사람이 숨을 거두면 그가 어디 있는가? 바다에서 물이 빠지고 하수가 줄어들어 말라 버림같이 사람은 누우면 일어나지 못하고 하늘들이 없어질 때까지 그들은 그들의 잠에서 깨어나지 못하고 일어나지 못하는도다.”(욥 14:10-12)

           마침내 그는 그가 믿는 하나님께 기도하면서 간구했습니다: “오, 주께서는 나를 음부에 감추시고 주의 진노가 지날 때까지 나를 숨기시며 나에게 때를 정하시고 나를 기억하소서! 사람이 죽으면 다시 살아나리이까? 나의 변화가 올 때까지  나의 정해진 때의 모든 날들을 나는 기다리나이다. 주께서 나를 부르시니 내가 주께 대답하리이다. 주께서는 주의 손에 지으신 것에 애착을 가지시리이다.”(욥 14:13-15)

           욥은 자신이 죄인이라는 사실을 고백하면서 다시 한 번 간구를 드렸습니다:  “그러나 지금은 주께서 나의 걸음을 헤아리시니 주께서는 나의 죄를 살피지 아니하시나이까?  나의 허물을 자루에 담아 봉하시고 주께서는 내 죄악을 실로 꿰매 버리셨나이다. “(욥 14:16-17)

            욥은 자신을 포함해서 사람이 하나님 앞에 얼마나 보잘 것 없는 존재인지에 대하여 고백했습니다: “실로 산은 무너져 아무 것도 아닌 것이 되고 바위도 제 자리에서 옮겨지며 물은 돌을 닳게 하고 주께서는 땅의 티끌에서 자라는 것들을 씻어버리시나이다. 또 주께서는 사람의 소망을 멸하시나이다. 주께서는 사람을 영원히 이기시니 그는 사라지나이다. 주께서는 그의 용모를 바꾸시고 그를 멀리 보내시나이다. 자기 아들들이 존귀하게 되나 그는  그것도 알지 못하며 그들이 비참하게 되어도 그가 그들의 비참함을 알지 못하나이다. 다만 자기에게 붙은 살이 아프고 자기 안에 있는 그의 혼이 애통할 뿐이니이다.”(욥 14:18-22)

          하나님께서는 먼 훗날에 자신의 독생자를 세상에 보내시어 사람들이 알아야 하는 모든 진리들을 알게 하시기로 작정하시고 그 당시 사람들 가운데 가장 온전하고 정직하고, 하나님을 두려워하고 악을 피하는 욥을 부르셨습니다. 또한 그를 사람들이 처하게 될 가장 비참한 지경까지 이르게 하심으로써 그의 입을 통하여 사람들이 알고 싶어하는  것들을 미리 말하게 하신 것입니다. 율법이 없음으로 인해 죄가 무엇인지도 모르는 시대에 죄인임을 깨달은 그를 택하셔서 죄인들이 받을 심판에 대하여 미리 증거하게 하신 것입니다.

         그는 계속해서 고백했습니다:

“이제 나의 소망이 어디 있으며 내 소망을 누가 보랴?….그가 사면에서 나를 치시니 내가 죽는도다. 그는 내 소망을 나무처럼 뽑으셨도다…위선자가 성공했다 해도 하나님께서 그의 혼을 취해 가시면 그의 소망이 무엇이겠느냐?”(욥 17:15; 19:10;27:8)

          욥이 떠나고 천 년이 지났을 때 마침내 하나님께서는 그의 종 다윗에게 성령을 주셔서 사람의 소망에 대하여 증거하게 하셨습니다:

“주는 내 유업과 내 잔의 분깃이시니 주께서 나의 몫을 지키시나이다. 내게 떨어진 경계는 쾌적한 곳이니 정녕, 나는 훌륭한 유업을 가졌나이다. 나를 권고하신 주를 송축하리니 내 속 마음도 밤이면 나를 가르치나이다. 내가 항상 주를 내 앞에 모셨도다. 주께서 내 오른 편에 계시므로 내가 요동치 아니하리로다. 그러므로 내 마음이 기쁘고 내 영광이 즐거워하며 내 육체도 소망 가운데 안식하리니 이는 주께서 내 혼을 지옥에 버려두지 아니하시며 주의 거룩하신 분으로 썩어짐을 보지 않게 하실 것임이니이다. 주께서 내게 생명의 길을 보여주시리니 주의 면전에는 충만한 기쁨이 있고 주의 오른 편에는 즐거움이 영원무궁토록 있나이다.”(시 16:5-11)

            주 하나님께서는 다윗 안에 계셨던 성령을 통하여 그를 믿는 자들이 육신이 죽어도 부활의 소망 가운데 쉴 수 있다는 사실을 알게 하셨습니다. 또한 그가 무덤 속에서 쉴 수 있는 것은 그가 하나님을 신뢰함으로써 지옥에 가지 않기 때문이며 그것은 앞으로 오실 그리스도께서 세상 죄를 위하여 죽으시고 무덤에 묻히셔도 그의 죄 없으심을 인하여 그의 몸이 썩지 않고 그의 모든 죄들을 지옥 속에 던져버리실 것이라는 것을 깨달았던 것입니다. 또한 앞으로 오실 주께서 그에게 영원한 생명을 주심으로써 그의 영이 하나님의 보좌 오른 편에 앉아 영원한 기쁨을 누리게 될 것을 알고 증거한 것입니다. 또한 그는 그의 소망이 그분의 말씀 안에 있다고 고백했습니다(시 119:49). 그러므로 그의 유일한 소망은 그 때가 오게 될 때에 주의 모습으로 변화되리라는 것이었습니다(시 17:15).

           마침내 다윗이 바라고 소망하던 그리스도께서 예수라는 이름으로 나타나셨습니다. 그분께서는 말씀으로 죄인으로 태어난 세상 모든 사람들이 유대인이나 이방인들이나 차별 없이 그들이 처해 있는 죄와 저주와 사망의 문제를 해결하는 길을 말씀하여주셨습니다. 그분께서는 태초에 말씀으로 하늘과 땅을 창조하신 분이시며 지구 상에 만물들을 지으시기 전에 ““빛이 있으라!” 말씀하셨을 때 즉시 빛이 있게 하신 분이셨습니다. 그분께서 죽은 지 나흘이 되어 썩어 냄새 나는  나사로의 무덤 앞에서 그의 누이 마르다에게 말씀하셨습니다. 이 말씀은 이 세상의 모든 사람들 앞에서 선포하신 말씀인 것입니다: “나는 부활이요, 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살 것이며 또 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 누구나 영원히 죽지 아니하리라. 네가 이것을 믿느냐?”(요 11:25-26)  이 말씀을 하신 후에 다시 한 번 말씀하셨습니다:“만일 네가 믿으면 하나님의 영광을 볼 것이라고 내가 너에게 말하지 아니하였느냐?”(요 11:40)

           그렇습니다! 천지를 창조하신 하나님의 말씀을 믿는 순간 그 말씀대로 즉시 이루어져 하나님의 영광을 볼 수 있는 것입니다. 지금 이 순간에도 주신 말씀을 믿는 순간 하나님의 영광을 보게 되는 것입니다. 하나님의 영광은 성령 안에 있는 영원한 생명인 것입니다. 이 영원한 생명은 모든 죄들이 사함 받았다는 증거이며 모든 저주와 사망으로부터 해방되었다는 증거인 것입니다. 이때부터 우리의 소망은 주의 말씀 안에 있는 부활의 소망인 것입니다.

              모든 그리스도인들은 부활의 소망 안에서 기쁨의 삶을 살 수 있는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 성도들의 부활의 영광이 서로 다르다고 증거했습니다: “하나는 해의 영광이요, 또 하나는 달의 영광이며, 또 다른 하나는 별들의 영광이니 이는 영광에 있어서는 한 별이 다른 별과 다르기 때문이라.”(고전 15:41)

        옛날 박해 받은 그리스도인들이 박해 가운데서도 기쁨으로 살았던 것은 더 좋은 부활을 얻고자 함이었습니다. 사도 바울은 이들에 대하여 믿음의 영웅들이라고 증거했습니다: “그들은 믿음을 통하여 왕국들을 정복하기도 하고 의를 이루기도 하며, 약속들을 받기도 하고 사자들의 입을 막기도 하며 불의 세력을 소멸시키기도 하고 칼날을 피하기도 하며, 연약함 중에 강하게 되기도 하고 전쟁 중에서 용맹스럽게 되기도 하며, 외적들을 패주시키기도 하며 여자들은 그들의 죽은 자들을 다시 살려 받기도 하고 어떤 사람들은 고문을 당하면서도 굳이 면하려 하지 아니하였으니, 이는 그들이 더 좋은 부활을 얻고자 함이라.”(히 11:33-35) 복된 소망이시며 위대하신 하나님이신 우리 구주 예수 그리스도의 영광스러운 나타나심을 기다리게 하신 하나님을 송축합니다! (딛 2:13) 아멘! 할렐루야!

This week’s meditation: Psalms 16: 1-11

Scripture: Job 14: 1-22

Title: Blessed hope, revealed fully for us

           We give thanks to the Lord once again for the grace given unto us so much great through the confession of Job, who lived four thousand years before the gospel of Christ is revealed.

          He confessed of the life of man that is as a few days, and full of trouble. And man comes forth like a flower, and is cut down: he flees also as a shadow, and continues not to se the judgment of God. He also testified of the heart of man as unclean so that clean thing cannot enter into his heart. And there is no one that knows the day when he dies, but upon the appointed time set by God; he is destined to depart the earth all of sudden.

          He looked up at the trees finding out of them that have hope; even if they are cut down, they will sprout again, and the tender branches thereof will not cease. And he grieved of man how much he is made in vain: “But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.“(Job 14: 10-12)

       Finally, he prayed to God with his supplication:” O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.“(Job 14: 13-15

          Job prayed with another supplication unto the LORD God confessing himself as a sinner : ” 16For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity. “(Job 14: 16-17)

           Job confessed of man as nothing including himself before God: “And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place. The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope o man. Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away. His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them. But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.“(Job 14: 18-22)

          God planned to send his only begotten Son to the world in the future and to let him preach the all the truth that men should know about. And God called out Job who was perfect and upright, and feared God, and avoided evil. God led him the worst miserable situation, and let him ask through his mouth of the things that men eagerly wanted to know about. God had chosen Job who  understood himself as a miserable sinner in the age when no law of God was given so that no one was of guilty feeling against the law. God let him testify of the judgment against sinners.

      He continued to confess: “And where is now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?,,,, 10He hath destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he removed like a tree.

…. For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul? “(Job 17:15; 19:10; 27: 8)? 

         After Thousand of years had been passed by sine Job passed away, The LORD God anointed his servant, King David, and had him testify of the hope of man:  “The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.I will bless the Lord, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.“(Psalm 16 : 5-11)

          The LORD God revealed of the truth that man can  rest in the hope of resurrection even after death of body through the Holy Ghost within King David. David testified of the reason why he could rest in the grave, for he should not go into the hell trusting in the LORD God; he understood that the Christ to come in the future shall die for the sin of the world, and his body shall not be corrupted, and he shall cast all his sins into the hell. He rejoiced for the eternal life to be given by the Lord, and for his life at the right hand of God forever more. He also confess, his hope is in the words of God(Ps. 119:49). Therefore his only hope was to be changed like Christ (Ps. 17:15)

            Finally, the Christ that he had waited appeared in the name of Jesus. He gave the words of the way that solves the issues of sin and curse and death for all men regardless the Jews or Gentiles. He is the One that created heaven and earth with his word; and he made light with the  word saying, “Let the light is! He spoke unto Martha in front of the grave of Lazarus when his body had already corrupted for four days. Actually he spoke his word unto all men in the world:  “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? “(John 11: 25-26) He spoke these words once again::”  Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? “(John 11:40)

           That’s right! Moment to believe the word of God who created the heavens and the earth is made up as soon as he said that to see the glory of God. Even now it would be the moment to see the glory of God for them that believe in the Word of God. The glory of God is eternal life in the Spirit. The eternal life that is within believers is the proof that all sins are forgiven, and also the liberation from all the curses and death. From then on, our hope is the hope of the resurrection in the word of God.

           All the Christians are able to live in joy in the hope of resurrection. Apostle Paul of the difference of the glory of resurrection one to another:

 ” There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. “(I Corinthians 15:41)

       The old persecuted Christians who lived in the midst of persecution with joy to receive better resurrection. Apostle Paul testified of them as the heroes of faith:  “Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection“(Hebrews 11: 33-35)

          Bless the Lord God for us to wait   for the glorious appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ that is blessed hope and the great God and our Savior. (Titus 2:13) Amen! Hallelujah!
