금주의 묵상: 시편 91:1-16

본문: 요한계시록 4:1-5:14

제목: 눈을 들어 하늘 보좌를 바라보자!

     옛날 시편 기자였던 레위 족 아삽은 악인들을 향하여  “그들의 입은 하늘들에 대하여 열어 두었으며 그들의 혀는 땅을 두루 다니니이다.”(시 73:9)라고 증거했다. 그 당시에 악인들이 누구였는가? 하나님의 백성이라 고백하면서 하늘에 계신 하나님을 입술로는 존경하면서도 마음으로는 하나님과 관계없는 자들로서 땅의 것들만 생각하며 추구하는 자들이었다. 예수께서도 그당시 악인들이었던 서기관들과 바리새인들을 향하여 “이 백성이 입으로는 나에게 다가오고, 또 입술로는 나를 공경하여도 그들의 마음은 내게서 멀도다. 사람들의 계명들들을 교리들을 가르치니, 그들이 나를 헛되이 경배하는도다.”(마 15:8,9)라고 책망하셨다.

     교회 시대 이후 오늘날은 어떠한가? 사도 바울은 이들에 대하여 빌립보 교회 성도들에게 경고했다: “형제들아, 너희는 모두 나를 따르는 자가 되라. 그리고 너희가 우리를 본으로 삼은 것같이 그렇게 행하는 자들을 주시하라. 내가 자주 너희에게 말하였고 지금도 눈물로 말하지만 많은 사람이 십자가의 원수들로 행하고 있느니라. 그들의 종말은 파멸이며 그들의 하나님은 그들의 배요, 그들의 영광은 자기들의 수치 속에 들어 있고 그들은 땅의 것을 생각하느니라.”(빌 3:17-19)

      사도 바울은 라오디게아 교회가 있었던 골로새에 있는 성도들에게도 동일한 경고를 했다: “그러므로 너희가 그리스도와 함께 살아났으면 위에 있는 것들을 구하라. 거기에는 그리스도께서 하나님의 오른 편에 앉아 계시느니라. 위에 있는 것들에 너희 마음을 두고 땅에 있는 것들에 마음을 두지 말라. 이는 너희가 죽었고 또 너희의 생명이 그리스도와 함께 하나님 안에 감추어졌기 때문이라. 우리의 생명이신 그리스도께서 나타나실 때 그때 너희도 영광 가운데 나타날 것이라.”(골 3:1-4)

     사도 바울은 사도 요한이 셋째 하늘 보좌에 가기 전에 그곳을 이미 다녀왔다고 간접적으로 증거했다. 그러나 그가 낙원으로 끌려올라가서 말로 다 설명할 수 없는 말을 들었지만 그것은 사람들에게 말하도록 허락되지 않은 것이라고 증거했다 (고후 12:1-6 그러나 오늘 본문에서 사도 요한에게 보여주신 하늘 보좌의 모든 것들은 우리에게 아주 자세하게 보여주시고 있다. 아마도 주님께서 그의 사랑하시는 제자인 사도 요한을 통하여 보여주시기 원하신 것이 아닐까?

       성령께서는 사도 요한을 교회 시대의 끝으로 옮겨놓으셨다. 성령 안에서 그를 미래로 옮기신 것이며 우리가 살고 있는 이 시대로 미리 옮겨놓으셨던 것이다. 그를 위하여 주님께서는 하늘 문을 여시고 “이리 올라오라. 내가 이후에 마땅히 일어나야 할 일들을 네게 보여 주리라.”(계 4:1)고 말씀하셨다. 그 말씀과 함께 사도 요한은 즉시 영 안에 있게 되었으며 동시에 하늘 보좌에 올라가서 하늘 보좌의 모든 것들을 보고 우리에게 증거하고 있는 것이다. 요한계시록에서 하늘 문이 두 번 열린다. 첫 번째는 본문에서이며 두 번째는 19장에서 주 예수 그리스도께서 이 땅에 재림하실 때에 하늘 문이 또 한 번 열린다. 이 때에도 사도 요한은 “내가 하늘이 열린 것을 보니”(계 19:11)라고 증거하고 있다. 이것은 앞으로 우리 앞에 하늘 문이 두 번 열릴 것을 미리 보여주신 것이다. 조만간 하늘 문이 열리게 될 때에 그리스도께 속한 신부들이 열린 문을 통하여 하늘 보좌로 들려올라가게 될 것이다. 그리고 7년 동안 하늘에서 어린 양의 혼인식과 혼인잔치를 마치고 다시 하늘 문이 열릴 때에 그리스도의 신부들이 그리스도와 함께 이 땅을 함께 심판하며 통치하기 위하여 내려오게 될 것이다. 이 얼마나 장엄한 광경이 되겠는가?(고전 15:23, 51-57,살전 4:16-18, 유 1:14, 계 19:11-16).

     자! 그러면 오늘 본문을 통하여 우리도 성령 안에서 하늘 보좌에 올라가서 사도 요한과 함께 하늘 광경을 영 안에서 보는 축복을 주시고 계신 것이다. 또한 그리스도의 신부들은 마땅히 신랑이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 아버지 하나님과 함께 앉아계신 그 하늘을 생각하며 살아야 하는 것이다. 하늘에 갈 소망 안에 있는 믿음으로 우리는 세상을 이길 수 있기 때문인 것이다 (요일 5:4)

     하늘 보좌에 읺아계신 성부 하나님의 용모를 본다. 그분의 용모는 벽옥과 홍보석 같으며, 그 보좌를 두른 무지개는 에메랄드같이 보인다. 또 보좌 주위에는 스물 네 좌식이 있고 그 좌석에는 흰옷을 입은 스물 네 장로가 머리에 금으로 만든 면류관을 쓰고 있다. 그리스도의 복음이 첫째는 유대인에게요, 둘째는 헬라인(이방인)에게로다 (롬 1;16)는 말씀처럼 이스라엘의 열두 지파와 교회 시대의 열두 사도들을 대표하는 장로들인 것을 성령 안에서 쉽게 알 수 있지 않은가? 그들이 면류관을 쓰고 있는 것은 그리스도와 함께 통치하게 될 그리스도의 신부들을 대표함을 보여주고 있는 것이다. 그들은 또한 성령님(하나님의 일곱 영)의 임재 가운데 성령 충만한 그리스도인들의 모습 또한 보여주고 있지 않은가?

     우리는 또한 앞뒤로 눈이 가득한 네 집승들의 모습을 본다. 첫째는 사자 같고, 둘째는 송아지 같고, 셋째는 사람과 같은 얼굴을 가졌고, 넷째는 날아다니는 독수리 같은 모습으로서 그들은 밤낮 쉬지 않고 말하기를 “거룩하시도다, 거룩하시도다, 거룩하시도다, 전에도 게셨고, 지금도 게시며, 앞으로 오실 전능하신 주 하나님이여”하며 성 삼위 창조주 하나님께 영광돌리는 하늘의 장엄한 예배 광경을 본다. 이 네 짐승들은 사람을 포함하여 하나님께서 창조하신 모든 피조물들 대표하여 하나님께 예배드리고 있지 않은가? 사도 바울은 하나님께서 우리를 그 사랑하시는 자, 우리 주 예수 그리스도 안에서 우리를 받아들이시어 그 은혜의 영광을 찬양케 하려 하심이라고 증거했다(엡 1:6). 그렇다! 그리스도의 피를 통하여 구속 곧 죄사함을 받은 우리 모두는 그 은혜의 영광을 찬양하여야 하는 것이다. 하나님께서는 우리가 이 땅에서부터 하늘에 이르기까지 영원토록 성삼위 하나님께 영광을 돌리며 예배드리게 하려고 구원하신 것이다. 우리는 또한 짐승들이 장로들과 함께 만물을 창조하신 하나님께 영광 돌리는 모습을 또한 본다. 우리도 마땅히 창조주 하나님께 감사로 예배드려야 하는 것이다.

     마침내 우리는 하나님의 어린 양이신 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 모습을 본다. 일곱 인으로 봉인된 책을 펴고 그 봉인을 뗄 자가 하늘과 땅 아래에 아무도 없기에 사도 요한이 심히 울고 있다. 그러나 유다 지파의 사자시며 다윗의 뿌리이신  하나님의 어린 양만이 하나님의 오른 손으로부터 그 책을 취하신다. 일곱인으로 봉해진 책은 앞으로 이 땅에 임활 7년 환난을 통한 하나님의 심판의 책인 것이다. 이 책은 선지자 다니엘에게 보여주셨지만 그 당시에는 그것을 봉인하라는 명령을 내리셨던 책인 것이다. 선지자 다니엘도 하늘의 광경을 보았으며 마지막 날들에 일어날 일들을 기록한 책에 대하여 증거했다: “내가 밤에 환상들을 보았더니, 보라, 인자 같은 분이 하늘의 구름들과 함께 오셔서 옛날부터 계신 분께로 오시니 그들이 인자 같은 분을 그분 앞에 안내하였더라. 거기에서 그분께 통치권과 영광과 왕국이 주어졌으니, 이는 모든 백성과 민족들과 언어들로 그분을 섬기게 하려 함이더라. 그분의 통치권은 사라지지 않을 영원한 통치권이며 그분의 왕국은 멸망하지 않으리라….. 그때에 미카엘이 일어서리니, 이는 네 백성의 자손을 위하여 일어서는 위대한 통치자라, 또 고난의 때가 있으리니, 그것은 민족이 생긴 이래로 그 때까지 결코 없었던 것이라. 그 때에 네 백성이 구제될 것이니, 곧 그 책에 기록되어 발견될 모든 자들이라….그러나 너 다니엘아, 마지막 때까지 그 말씀을 닫고 그 책을 봉하라. 그때에에는 많은 사람이 이리저리 달릴 것이요 지식이 증가하리라.”(단 7:13,14, 12:1,4)

     또한 우리는 아주 중요한 광경을 본다. 네 짐승과 스물 네 장로가 각자 하프와, 성도들의 기도가 담긴 향으로 가득한 금호리병들을 가지고 어린 양 앞에 엎드려서 새노래를 부르며 우리 주 예수 그리스도께 기도하며 경배를 드린다: “주께서 그 책을 취하시며 그 봉인들을 열기에 합당하시나이다. 이는 죽임 당하셨던 주께서 하나님께로 각 족속과 언어와 백성 가운데서 우리를 주의 피로 구속하셨음이니, 우리가 땅 위에서 통치하리이다.”(계5:9,10) 그렇다! 이들의 기도는 마땅히 이 땅에 있는 우리들이 드려야 할 기도이며 예배의 중심이 되는 주제이며 우리의 마지막 영광의 소망인 것이다. 이로 인하여 사도 바울은 “현재의 고난들이 우리에게 나타날 영광에 감히 비교되지 못한다고 내가 여기기 때문이라.”(롬 8:18)고 증거한 것이다.

     마지막으로 온 우주에 있는 만물들이 왕이신 어린 양께 경배하는 소리를 듣는다: “보좌에 앉으신 분과 어린 양에게 찬송과 존귀와 영광과 권세가 영원무궁토록 있을지어다.”(계 5:13) 그때에 네 짐승이 말하기를 “아멘.” 하고 스물 네 장로가 엎드려 영원무궁토록 살아계시는 분에게 경배하고 있다.

     이제야말로 고개를 들어 하늘을 바라볼 때가 되었다. 하늘을 바라보며 소망 가운데 있을 때 우리는 어떤 고난도 믿음으로 이길 수 있는 것이다. 그러므로 믿음의 사람 사도 바울은 “우리가 자신에 차 있으니 정녕 몸을 떠나 주와 함께 있는 것을 오히려 더 원하노라.”(고후 5:8)고 증거했다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 91:1-16

Main scripture: Revelation 4:1-5:14

Subject: Let us lift up eyes to look forward the heavenly throne

     Asaph, an old Psalmist as well as a tribe of Levi testified of the wicked: “They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.”(Ps. 73:9) Who was the wicked at that time?  Even though they honored God by mouth not in their heart saying they are the people of God, actually they had nothing to do with God only pursuing the things in the earth. Jesus also testified of the wicked such as Scribes and the Pharisees rebuking: “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”(Matt. 15:8,9)

     What about these days since the age of church began? Apostle Paul warned to the Philippians of them: “Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) “(Phil. 3:17-19)

     Apostle Paul gave the same warning to the Colossians where the church of the Laodiceans was saying, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”(Col. 3:1-4)

     Apostle Paul testified of his trip to the heavenly throne in the third heaven indirectly. Even though he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter (2Cor. 12:1-6). But the throne of God in heaven shown to Apostle John in the main passage is revealed us in details. Lord Jesus might show the throne of God through Apostle John, his beloved disciple.

     The Holy Ghost moved Apostle John to the end of the age of the church where we are living in the Spirit. Lord Jesus opened the door of heaven, and spoke to him, “Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.”(Rev. 4:1) And immediately he was in the Spirit, and he went up to the throne of God in heaven. Now he is showing all things in the throne of God. In the book of Revelation, the door of heaven is opened twice. Once in the main passage, and second time happens when the Lord Jesus Christ come again to the earth. Apostle John testified of the second time saying, ^“And I saw heaven opened,” (Rev. 19:11). This means that the door of heaven shall be opened twice for us in the future. When the door of heaven is opened in near future, the Bride of Christ that are Christ’s shall be caught up into the throne of God through the door of heaven. When the door of heaven is opened again, the Bride of Christ shall come down to the earth with Christ to judge the world, and reign therein with him, after they finish the wedding of the Lame of God, and the wedding dinner. What a wonderful scene it may be? (1Cor. 15:23;51-57, 1Thes. 4:16-18, Jude 1:14, Rev. 19:11-16)

    Now! Through the main passage, we are blessed to come up to the throne of God to look around the scene of heaven with Apostle John in the Spirit. The Bride of Christ must looking forward the throne of God in heaven where their Groom, the Lord Jesus Christ is sitting with the Father God., for they can overcome the world by faith in heaven (1John 5:4).

     Now we see the countenance of the Father God sitting at the throne in heaven. He that sits is to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there is a rainbow round about the throne, insight like unto an emerald. And round about the throne are four and twenty seats; and upon the seats we see four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. As the gospel of Christ is to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Gentiles), the twenty four elders must be representing the twelve tribes of Israel, and the twelve apostles in the age of the church. Their crowns show us that they are representing the Bride of Christ that shall reign with Christ. They also show us that they are full with the Spirit in the presence of the Holy Ghost (the seven Spirits of God).

     We also see the four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast is like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and third beast had a face as a man, and fourth beast is like a flying eagle. They rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. What a marvelous scene of worship to the God in Trinity glorifying the God Creator?  These four beasts must be representing all the creations including men to worship the LORD God. Apostle Paul testified, “To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved (the Lord Jesus Christ).”(Eph. 1:6).  Yes! All of us that have redemption have to praise the glory of grace. God the Father has saved us so that we may praise God the Trinity from here in the earth until we reach heaven forever. We also see the beasts glorifying God the Creator with the elders. We also have to worship him with thanksgiving.

     Finally, we see the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. Apostle John is weeping much, because no man is found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon, that is written within and on backside, sealed with seven seals. Only the Lamb of God that is the Lion of the tribe of Juda, and the Root of David took the book out of the right hand of God. The book sealed with the seven seals is the book of judgment happening in the earth in the Great Tribulation for seven years. This book was shown to Daniel asking him not to open. Prophet Daniel also saw the scene of heaven, and testified of the book written of the things happening in the last days: “I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed. ….And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book…..But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.”(Dan. 7:13,14, 12:1,4)

       And now, we see a very important scene. The four beasts and four and twenty elders fall down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. And they sing a new song, praying to the Lord to worship him: “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”(Rev. 5:9,10)

     Yes! Their prayer is the one that is to be done by us in the earth, and is the theme of worship, and is the hope of our final glory. For this reason, Apostle Paul testified saying, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”(Rom. 8:18)

     Finally, we hear the voice of all the creation in the universe worshipping the King, the Lamb of God: “Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.”(Rev. 5:13)

And the four beasts say, Amen. And four and twenty elders fall down and worship him that lives for ever and ever. 

     It is the real time for us to lift up our heads to see the heaven. When we are looking forward seeing the heaven in the hope, we could overcome any kind of tribulation by faith. Therefore, Apostle Paul, man of faith testified: “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”(2Cor. 5:8) Amen! Hallelujah!
