금주의 묵상: 시 96:1-13

본문: 로마서 8:14-25

제목:  우리 때문에 고통 가운데 신음하는 모든 창조물들을 기억하자!

     아담이 범죄하여 이 땅을 마귀에게 빼앗긴 이후  사람을 포함하여 해 아래 모든 창조물들은 수고와 슬픔 (시 90:10)속에 신음하며 살아왔다. 사람의 범죄로 인하여 땅이 저주를 받아(창 3;17) 땅에서 나는 것을 먹고 사는 모든 창조물들은 사람의 죄 때문에 함께 썩어짐의 속박 아래 신음하며 고통받으며 살다가 죽어간 것이다. 그러나 하나님께서 이 세상을 사랑하셔서 자신의 독생자를 예수라는 이름으로, 아담의 모습으로 보내셔서 아담으로부터 퍼져나간 세상의 모든 죄들을 제거하셨다 (요 1:29, 히 10:11,12).

      하나님의 사랑 안에서 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 부활하심을 통한 은혜를 깨닫고 회개하여 예수 그리스도를 믿어 마음에 영접한 사람들에게 하나님의 영이신 성령을 주셔서 하나님의 자녀된 사람들에게 하나님의 상속자이며 이 땅에 왕으로 오실 예수 그리스도의 신부로 삼으셔서 그리스도와 함께 한 공동 상속자로 삼으신 것이다.

     하나님께서는 창세 전에 하늘과 땅을 아들이신 주 예수 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 왕국을 이루실 것을 계획하셨다 (엡 1:4-10). 하나님께서는 이 계획을 그리스도의 모형으로 택함받은 다윗 왕을 통하여 미리 말씀하셨다: “’내가 나의 거룩한 산 시온 위에 내 왕을 세웠도다.’ 하시리라. 내가 칙령을 선포하리라. 주께서 내게 말씀하시기를 ‘너는 내 아들이라. 오늘 내가 너를 낳았노라. 내게 구하라. 그러면 내가 너에게 이방을 네 유업으로, 땅의 맨 끝을 네 소유로 주리라. 네가 그들을 철장으로 깨뜨릴 것이며, 토기장이의 질그릇같이 산산이 부수리라.’ 하셨도다. 그러므로, 오 너희 왕들아, 이제 현명해지라. 너희 땅의 재판관들아, 교훈을 받을지어다. 두려움으로 주를 섬기고 떨림으로 즐거워하라. 그 아들에게 입맞추라. 그렇지 않으면 그가 노하실 것이요, 그가 조금만 격분하셔도 너희가 그 길에서 망하리라. 그를 신뢰하는 모든 사람은 복이 있도다.”(시 2:6-12)

     그럴다! 하나님께서는 아담으로 인하여 온 세상에 충만한 모든 세상 죄들을 제거하시기 위하여 자신의 피를 쏟아 대속하시고 자신의 죽으심을 통하여 죄인들을 죄와 사망과 지옥으로부터 구하셨던 것이다. 그러나 많은 사람들은 이 사실을 아직도 깨닫지 못하고 여전히 이 세상 신인 마귀를 따르고 있는 것이다. 그러나 사람을 제외한 모든 창조물들은 이 하나님의 계획을 깨달아 알고 하나님의 아들들이 나타날 것을 기다리고 있다고 사도 바울은 성령 안에서 깨닫고 탄식하고 잇는 것이다. 모든 피조물들은 하나님께 죄를 지은 적이 없지만 사람들의 죄로 인하여 여전히 썩어짐 속에서 비참한 삶을 살고 있는 것이다. 그들은 하나님의 계획을 알기에 여전히 허무한 가운데 살면서 하나님의 계획이 이 땅에 이루어질 날을 소망하며 기다리면서 하나님께 원망하지 않고 현실에 굴복하면서 신음하며 고통받고 있는 것이다.

     사도 바울은 복음을 통하여 하나님의 영을 받은 자를 대표하여 “그들뿐 아니라 성령의 첫 열매들을 가진 우리까지도 속으로 신음하며 양자되는 것, 곧 우리 몸의 구속을 기다리고 있느니라.”(롬 8:23)고 증거했다. 다시 말해서 그리스도께서 오시는 부활의 날에 죽지 않을 몸, 썩지 않을 몸을 입을 날을 기다리면서 고통 가운데 인내하며 기다리고 있다고 증거한 것이다. 그는 고린도교회 성도들에게 편지할 때에 “내가 그리스도를 위하여 약한 것들과 모욕과 궁핍과 박해와 곤경을 기뻐하노니 이는 내가 약할 때 곧 내가 강하기 때문이라.”(고후 12:10)고 증거하면서 그리스도께서 오실 때 까지 그분의 왕국을 위한 사역을 하면서 모든 고난을 그분을 위하여 기뻐한다는 고백을 하였던 것이다. 마치 모든 창조물들이 인내하면서 그리스도의 오심을 기다리는 것처럼 말이다. 시편 기자는 그리스도께서 이 세상을 심판하고 그분의 왕국을 세우시기 위하여 오실 때에 만물들이 어떻게 기뻐할 것인가에 관하여 증거했다: “하늘들은 기뻐하고 땅은 즐거워하며 바다와 거기 충만한 것들도 소리지르라. 밭과 그 가운데 있는 모든 것들은 즐거워할지어다. 그때 삼림의 모든 나무들이 기뻐하리니, 곧 주 앞에서라. 이는 그가 오시기 때문이라. 그가 땅을 심판하러 오시기 때문이라. 그가 세상을 의로, 그 백성을 그의 진리로 심판하시리로다.”(시 96:11-13)

     주님께서 올리브 산에 있는 겟세마네 동산에서 기도하실 때 그곳에 있었던 올리브 나무들은 썩어서 고목나무가 되었지만 주님의 발이 그곳에 서실 날(슥 14:4)을 고대하면서 이천 년이 넘도록 소망 가운데 꿋꿋하게 서 있는 것을 본다. 그 나무들은 주님께서 휴거된 많은 성도들과 함께 영광 가운데 이 땅을 인수하여 통치하시기 위하여 오실 날만 기다리고 있는 것이다. 아직도 목이 곧은 대부분의 유대인들은 이 사실을 모르고 죄 가운데 있지만 이 나무들은 아직도 소멸되지 않고 썩음에 종노릇하면서도 하나님의 자녀들의 영광스러운 자유에 참여하기 위하여 소망 가운데 기다리고 있는 것이다. 그 나무들은 주님께서 죄인들을 위하여 십자아에서 처참하게 죽으시기 전 날 밤에 땀방울이 핏방울이 되어 떨어지는 광경을 밤이 새도록 지켜본 증인들이었으며 주님께서 왜 그다지도 고통 가운데 기도하셨는지 알았을 것이다. 주님께서 나무들까지도 더 이상 썩어짐의 종노릇하지 않게 하시기 위한 것을 알고 있었기 때문이다. 그들은 장차 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 오셔서 죄와 사망의 권세 잡은 마귀를 몰아내고 성령 안에서 의와 평강과 기쁨으로 가득찬 땅이 되어 자신들까지도 그 영광에 참여할 날을 기다리고 있는 것이다.

     그러기에 모든 창조물들은 하나님의 아들들이 나타나기만을 기다리고 있는 것이다. 또한 그들이 그리스도의 날에 하나님의 아들들이 휴거될 날만 기다리고 있는 것이다. 또한 이 세상에 하루 속히 심판이 오기를 기다리고 있는 것이다. 그래야만 그후에 이 땅이 회복되어 하나님의 왕국이 되기 때문인 것이다.

     그러기에 하나님의 영을 받아 거듭난 하나님의 자녀들은 그리스도와 함께 받는 고난들을 마땅히 기뻐하며 살아야 하는 것이다. 그분께서 모든 희생과 고난과 죽음을 당하시고  그들에게 영원한 생명을 거저 주셨고 동시에 그분께서 차지할 이 땅에서 공동상속자로서 함께 통치할 권세를 주셨기 때문인 것이다. 모든 창조물들은 어떤 죄도 지은 적이 없으며, 어떤 은혜도 거져 받은 적이 없는데도 그들은 굴복하게 하시는 분이신 주님을 위하여 허무한 가운데 신음하며 고통받고 있음을 알아야 할 것이다. 올리브 산에 있는 나무들은 수천 년 동안이나 인내하며 고통 받고 있는데 하나님의 자녀들은 고작해야 수십 년 동안만 참으면 되는 것이 아닌가?

     사도 바울은 고린도 교회 성도들에게 마지막 승리의 날에 대하여 증거했다: “보라, 내가 너희에게 한 가지 신비를 말하노니 우리가 다 잠잘 것이 아니요 오히려 우리가 모두 변화될 것이니 마지막 나팔에 눈깜짝하는 순간에 그러하리라. 나팔 소리가 나면 죽은 자들이 썩지 아니하는 몸으로 일으켜지며 우리도 변화되리라. 그리하여 이 썩을 몸이 반드시 썩지 아니할 몸을 입고 이 죽을 몸이 죽지 아니할 몸을 입으리라….그러므로 나의 사랑하는 형제들아, 견고하라 흔들리지 말라. 주의 일을 넘치게 하라. 이는 너희의 수고사 주 안에서 헛되지 아니한 줄을 너희가 앎이니라.”(고전 15:51-53,58)

     모든 창조물들이 알고 소망 가운데 인내하면서 기다리는 하나님의 자녀들이 받을 영광스러운 자유를 있는가? 그렇다면 우리도 그들과 함께 신음하면서 양자되는 날, 즉 죽을 몸을 벗고 죽지 않을 몸을 입을 그 날을 바라보면서 항상 기뻐하며, 쉬지 말고 기도하며, 모든 일에 감사하면서 현재의 고난들을 믿음과 소망으로 참고 이겨야하지 않겠는가? 사도 바울은 “우리가 참으면 우리도 그와 함께 다스릴 것이요 우리가 그를 부인하면 그도 우리를 부인할 것이라.”(딤후 2:12)고 증거했다. 달려갈 길을 다 달릴 때까지 믿음을 지키면서 그 영광의 날을 바라보지 않겠는가? 우리의 소망은 죽음 저 건너 편에 있는 것이지 이 죄많은 세상에 있는 것이 아니기 때문이다. 아멘 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 96:1-13

Main scripture: Romans 8:14-25

Subject: Let us remember all the creatures that are groaning in suffering because of us!

      Since the earth has been taken by the Devil because of the sin of Adam, all creatures including men under heaven have been living under labour and sorrow (Ps. 90:10). The earth being cursed because the sin of man (Gen. 3; 17), all creatures being by the fruits from the earth have been dying under the bondage of corruption because the sin of man. But God so love the world, and he sent his only begotten Son in the name of Jesus to take away the sin of the world that had been spread from Adam (John 1:29, Heb. 10:11,12)

     God has given the Spirit unto them that understand the grace of God through death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and repent sins to receive Jesus Christ in the heart to make them the children of God through the love of God. In addition, God made them the heir of God as well as the bride of Christ, even the joint heirs with Christ that is coming to the earth as the King.

     God had made a plan to restore the kingdom of God in the Lord Jesus Christ even before the foundation of the earth (Eph. 1:4-10) God spoke this plan through King David that was chosen as the model of Christ: “Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”(Ps. 2:6-12)

     Yes! The God, Jesus Christ shed all his blood to take away the sin of the world filled in the world to redeem the sin; and he delivered sinners from sin, death, and the hell through his death. But, yet, many people still don’t understand this love of God to follow the devil, the god of the world. But all other creatures except man already have understood the plan of God, and they are waiting for the sons of God, grieved and testified by Apostle Paul in the Spirit. All other creatures have never sin against God, but they have been living under corruption and curse until now because of the sin of man. They have known the plan of God; and so they are subject to vanity not complaining at all, but waiting the will of God done in the earth in hope even though they are groaning and suffering.

     Apostle Paul testified as a representative that received the Spirit of God through the gospel: “And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.”(Rom. 8:23)

In other word, he testified that they are waiting for the day when they are clothed by immortal and incorruptible body in the midst of suffering with patience. Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians saying, “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”(2Cor. 12:10)

He could rejoice for all the afflictions for Christ’s sake doing the ministry for the kingdom of Christ as all the creatures are waiting for Christ with patience. A psalmist testified of the joy of the creatures when Christ comes to judge the world to build his kingdom: “Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof. Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.”(Ps. 96:11-13)

     All the Olive trees are now rotten in Gethsemane of Mount Olive, but they are still standing upright waiting for the feet of Christ to be landed therein sooner or later (Zech. 14:4). The Olive trees are waiting for Christ coming with the saints caught up in the glory of the Lord to take over the earth. Even though the stiff necked people of Israel don’t understand the coming of their Messiah living in the midst of sin, but theses Olive trees still not be perished but waiting the day when they participate the glorious freedom of the children of God with hope. They are the witnesses that saw the bloody sweats of Jesus with prayer in the night before he was crucified; and they knew the reason why Jesus prayed in such kind of pain. They knew that Jesus prayed even for them to free them from the bondage of corruption. They have been waiting for the day of glory when Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords come to cast out the Devil that has the power of sin and death to give them the earth filled with righteous, peace and joy in the Spirit.

     Therefore, all creatures are waiting for the appearance of the children of God as well as the day of Rapture in the day of Christ. They are also waiting the Day of Judgment to the world as soon as possible to restore the kingdom of God in the earth. This is the reason why the born again children of God of the Spirit have to rejoice for the suffering with Christ. Because he gave us himself as sacrifice for us, and suffered unto death to give us the life eternal, and to give the power of the joint heirs reigning in the earth with him in the earth.  All other creatures have never sinned, never received any free gift from God, but they are still groaning in suffering. The Olive trees have been suffering with patience for thousands years; but the children of God only have to wait for tens of the years.

     Apostle Paul testified of the last day of victory: “Behold, I shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality…Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”(1Cor. 15:51-53, 58)

     Do you know the glorious freedom of the children of God? And are you waiting for the glorious freedom that all other creatures already have known waiting for the day in hope with patience? If yes, we have to groan looking forward the day when we are adopted as sons after we put off the mortal body to be clothed with immortal one; and rejoicing always, praying continually, and giving thanks in everything.

      Apostle Paul testified:” If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:”(2Tim. 2:12)

What about looking forward the day of glory keeping our faith until we finish the course to run the race? Our hope is beyond death, not in this sinful world. Amen! Hallelujah!
