금주의 묵상: 시편 17:1-15

본문: 마 7:21-28, 고전 3:10-15

제목: 전심으로 예수님을 주와 그리스도로 믿는 자와 불타지 않는 상급

     죄인들이 죄와 사망과 저주와 지옥으로부터 구원받는 길은 오직 한 길밖에 없으며 그것은 절대적으로 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 부활하심을 통해 주시는 은혜밖에는 없으며 그 은혜를 받아 주 예수 그리스도를 믿는 것밖에는 어떤 다른 길도 없는 것이다 (엡 2:8,9). 그러면 믿는 것이 무었인가?

     본문에서 주님께서는 아주 중요한 말씀을 하고 계신다. 물론 주님께서 새 언약의 중보자로서 우리의 죄들을 위해 십자가에서 죽으시기 전에 하신 말씀이지만 주님께서는 앞으로 율법이 아닌 은혜로 구원받을 사람들까지 생각하시면서 하신 말씀이라 여겨진다. 그 당시 율법 아래 있는 사람들 가운데 위선자들과 거짓 교사들에 대하여 경고하시면서 “믿음 없이 하는 공허한 고백”에 대하여 경고하고 계신 것이다. 믿음 없는 거짓 고백은 어느 시대에서나 동일하게 적용되는 것이다. 율법 하에 있는 서기관들이나 바래새인들이 말로는 율법을 지킨다고 하면서 실상은 거짓말을 하였던 것처럼, 은혜 아래에서도 말로는 믿는다고 고백하지만 믿지 않으면서 입술로만 고백하는 자들에 대한 경고인 것이다. 다시 말해서 첫 단추를 잘 꿰어야한다는 말씀인 것이다.

     예수님께서 육신으로 계시던 당시에는 유대인들에게 하신 경고였으며, 그들이 믿지 않고 말로만 “주여, 주여”라고 고백하면서 많은 일을 행할지라도  천국, 즉 그분께서 통치하실 왕국에 들어갈 수 없다는 말씀을 하신것이다. 동시에 은혜 아래에서도 입술로 예수님을 구세주로 영접하였을지라도 주님을 따라가는 행위를 하지 않는다면 사실은 헛되이 믿은 자로 여겨진다는 말씀인 것이다. 물론, 진실로 주님을 믿지만 연약함 때문에 실수로 죄를 범할 수 있는 것이다. 이에 대하여 사도 요한은 “만일 우리에게 아무 죄도 없다고 말하면 우리 자신을 속이는 것이요, 진리가 우리 안에 있지 아니하나 우리가 우리 죄들을 자백하면 그는 신실하시고 의로우셔서 우리 죄들을 용서하시며, 모든 불의에서 우리를 깨끗하게 하시느니라. 만일 우리가 죄를 짓지 아니하였다고 말하면 우리는 그분을 거짓말쟁이로 만드는 것이요, 그분의 말씀이 우리 안에 있지 아니하니라.”(요일 1:8-10)고 증거했다.

     주님께서는 믿는 자와 믿지 않는 자에 대하여 좀 더 구체적으로  말씀하신다. 믿는 자는 그 믿음으로  인한 행위가 따르는데 그것은 주님의 말씀을 듣고 행하는 것이요, 행함이 따르지 않는 자는 실상은 믿지 않는 자라는 말씀을 하고 계신다. 더 구체적으로 말한다면, 진실로 주님을 믿고 행하는 자는 반석 위에 집을 지은 자와 같아서 비가 내리고 홍수가 나며 바람이 불어 그 집에 들이쳐도 무너지지 아니하나, 행함이 없이 말로만 믿는다고 하는 자는 마치 자기 집을 모래 위에 지은 어리석은 사람과 같으며 비가 내리고 홍수가 나며 바람이 불어 그 집에 들이치면 무너지되 그 무너짐이 극심하리라고 말씀하셨다.

     예수 그리스도의 이름으로 이 땅에 오신 성령님께서는 이 주님의 말씀을 더욱 구체적으로 사도 바울의 입을 통하여 말씀하신다: “내게 주신 하나님의 은혜에 따라 내가 현명한 건축가와 같이 기초를 닦았더니 다른 사람이 그 위에 지으니라. 그러나 각 사람은 그 위에다 어떻게 지을지 주의해야 할 것이라. 이 닦아 놓은 기초 외에 아무도 다른 기초를 놓을 수 없나니 이 기초는 예수 그리스도시라.”(고전 3:10,11)

또한 사도 바울은 이 기초이신 예수 그리스도에 대하여 “…..우리 조상들이 모두 구름 아래 있었고 모두 바다를 통과하였으며, 모두 구름과 바다 속에서 모세에게 침례를 받았고, 또 모두 같은 영적 음식을 먹었으며, 모두 같은 영적 음료를 마셨다는 것이라. 이는 그들이 그들을 따랐던 그 영적 반석에서 나온 것을 마셨음이요, 그 반석은 그리스도쎴음이라.”(고전10:1-4)고 증거하면서 모세가 광야에서 반석을 쳤을 때 나오는 물을 마신 것처럼 반석이신 예수 그리스도의 몸을 쳐서 나온 피와 물을 통하여 믿음으로 생명을 받을 것을 미리 보여주신 것이다. 주님 자신도 반석이신 자신의 기초 위에 교회를 세우실 것을 미리 말씀하셨다: “…너는 베드로라, 그리고 이 반석 위에 내가 나의 교회를 세우리니, 지옥의 문들이 그것을 이기지 못하리라.”(마 16:18)

     뿐만 아니라 성령께서는 진실로 주님을 믿는 자들에게도 어떻게 행할지에 관해서도 사도 바울을 통하여 말씀하셨다: “이제 누구든지 이 기초 위에 금(金)이나 은(銀)이나 보석(寶石)이나 나무(wood)나 짚(hay)이나 그루터기(stubble)로 지으면 각 사람의 일한 것이 나타나게 되리니 그 날이 그것을 밝힐 것이라. 이는 그것이 불로써 드러나고 또 그 불은 각 사람의 일한 것이 어떤 종류인지를 시험할 것이기 때문이라. 만일 어떤 사람이 일한 것이 세운 그대로 있으면 그는 상을 받을 것이요, 만일 어떤 사람의 일한 것이 불타 버리면 그는 손해를 당하리라. 그러나 그 자신은 구원을 받게 되지만 불에 의해인 것처럼 그렇게 되리라.”(고전 3:12-15)

     성령께서는 하나님의 자녀들이 이 땅에 사는 동안 헛 수고할 것을 염려하셔서 주신 말씀인 것이다. 첫 번째 세 가지 건축 재료는 영원히 불타지 않는 하나님께 속한 것들이며 두 번째 세 가지 재료들은 불에 타버리는 것들로서 앞으로 불타버릴 이 세상 에 속한 것들을 말씀하신다. 사도 바울은 고린도교회 성도들에게 “그러므로 나의 사랑하는 형제들아, 견고하라, 흔들리지 말라, 항상 주의 일을 넘치게 하라. 이는 너희의 수고가 주 안에서 헛되지 아니한 줄을 너희가 앎이니라.”(고전 15:58)고 권면했다. 다시 말해서 주님의 일만이 불타 버리지 않는 헛되지 않는 일이라는 것이다.

     하나님께서 모세에게 명령하셔서 지은 섬막의 모든 기명들은 순금으로 만들거나 순금으로 입혔으며, 널판들의 받침들도 은으로 만들었고, 대제사장이 입은 옷 위에 있는 흉배 위에는 열두 보석으로 장식되었다 (출 25:,26,27,28장). 하나님의 임재가 있던 성막 안에는 금과 은과 보석들로 되어 있었던 것이다. 사도 바울은 하나님의 나라에 대하여 “성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨이라.”(롬 14;17) 증거하면서 하나님의 나라는 성령님의 임재 속에서 사는 것임을 증거한 것이다.

     더 구체적으로 말한다면, 금은 하나님의 신성을 의미하며 금(金)으로 집을 짓는다믄 것은 하나님 제일주의 삶을 통한 성령으로 인도함 받는 삶을 의미하는 것이다. ‘은’(銀)은 하나님의 말씀을 의미하는 것으로서다윗 왕이 성령 안에서 증거했다: “주의 말씀들은 순수한 말씀들이라. 흙 도가니에서 단련되어 일곱 번 정화된 은 같도다. 오 주여, 주께서 이 말씀들을 간수하시리니 주께서 이 세대로부터 영원토록 그것들을 보존하시리이다.”(시 12:6,7) 보석에 대하여도 성경은 말씀하신다:

“내가 주를 크게 기뻐하겠으며, 내 혼이 내 하나님을 기뻐하리니 이는 그가 구원의 의복으로 나를 입혀주셨고, 그가 나를 의의 겉옷으로 덮어 주시어 마치 신랑이 장식물로 자신을 꾸민것같이, 신부가 보석으로 자신을 단장함같이 하셨음이라.”(사 61:10)

“만군의 주가 말하노니, 내가 나의 보석들을 만드는 그 날에 그들이 나의 것이 되리라. 내가 그들을 아껴두리니 사람이 자기를 섬기는 자기 아들을 아낌같이 하리라.”(말 3:17)

그렇다! 보석은 단장된 신부들과 왕국에 들어갈 이스라엘의 남은 자들을 말씀하고 있는 것이다.

     금, 은, 보석으로 집을 짓는다는 것은 하나님과 말씀과 하나님의 백성들과 자녀들을 위하여 행하는 주님의 일을 행함을 의미하는 것이며, 나무나 짚이나 그루터기로 짓는 다는 것은 생명이 없는 땅에 속한 일들을 의미하는 것이다. 행한 일들이 불로써 심판받을 그날에 대하여 사도 바울이 증거했다: “우리가 자신에 차 있으니 정녕 몸에서 떠나 주와 함께 있는 것을 더 원하노라. 이 때문에 우리가 애쓰는 것은 거하든지 떠나 있든지 그분을 기쁘시게 해 드리기를 바라는 것이라. 이는 우리 모두가 그리스도의 심판석 앞에 나아가서 선이든지 악이든지 각자 자기가 행한 것에 따라, 자기 몸으로 행한 것들을 받을 것이기 때문이라.”(고후 5:8-10)

       주님께서 제자들에게 “내 아버지 집에는 많은 저택들이 있느니라. 그렇지 아니하면 내가 너희에게 말하였으리라. 나는 너희를 위하여 처소를 예비하러 가노라. 내가 가서 너희를 위하여 처소를 마련하면 다시 와서 너희를 내게로 영접하여 내가 있는 그곳에 너희도 있게 하리라.”(요 14:2,3)고 약속하신 말씀 속에서도 제자들이 금과 은과 보석으로 집을 지을 것을 아시고 하늘의 새 예루살렘을 예비하신 것이다. 이는 또한 그리스도의 신부들을 위한 영원한 집인 것이다. 주님께서 그의 사랑하시는 제자 요한에게 자세하게 보여주셨다. 사도 요한은 “나 요한은 거룩한 도성 새 예루살렘이 하나님께로부터 하늘에서 내려오는 것을 보았는데 마치 신부가 자기 남편을 위하여 단장한 것같이 예비되었더라.”(계 21:2)고 증거했으며, 열두 보석과 진주와 순금등으로 지어졌다고 분명하게 증거한 것이다.

     사도 바울은 에베소 교회 성도들에게 편지할 때, “또 만물을 그의 발 아래 두시고 그를 만물 위에 머리가 되게 하셔서 교회에게 주셨느니라. 교회는 그의 몸이니 만물 안에 모든 것들을 채우시는 분의 충만이니라.”(엡 1:22,23)고 증거했다.

     그렇다! 교회 안에는 세상의 썩을 어떤 것도 있어서는 안되는 것이다. 금과 은과 보석만이 있어야 하는 것이다. 주님의 순결한 신부들이 금과 은과 보석으로 집을 짓는 거룩한 곳이기 때문이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 17:1-15

Main scripture: Matthew 7:21-28, 1Cor. 3:10-15

Subject: The true believer of the Lord Jesus Christ, and their rewards not burnt

     There is the only one way for sinners to be saved from sin, death, curse and the hell; that is the absolute grace given by death of Christ and his resurrection so that they may believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8,9) Then, what is the faith?

     In the main passage, Lord Jesus speaks of a very important thing. Of course, at that time, he spoke to the Jew before he died on the cross for our sins as the mediator of the new covenant; but his word is also applicable to them that are to be saved under grace not under the law. He warded toward the hypocrites and the false teachers for their profession without faith. The profession without faith is also warned to any one and any age. The Scribes and the Pharisees under the law insisted that they observed the law by their lips, but they lied themselves. There are so many nominal Christians that confess their faith only by mouth without faith. The faith is the first button to be fixed to be Christian.

     This is the warning toward the Jew when Jesus was in flesh; they could not enter the kingdom of heaven, because they said unto Jesus Lord, Lord, and they did many miracles without faith. Even in the age of grace, even though men receive Jesus as the Saviour and the Lord by mouth, they are considered as ones without faith in vain, unless they follow Jesus. But we could sin by mistake through our infirmity, even though we have true faith in Him. Apostle John testified: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”(1John 1:8-10)

     Lord Jesus spoke of the believer and non-believer more in details. The faith is followed by the walk that is to hear his words and to obey. The faith not followed by the walk is not the real faith, but in vain. In other word, Jesus said, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”(Matt. 7:24-27)

     The Holy Ghost which came to the world in the name of Jesus Christ spoke of the true faith by Apostle Paul: “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”(1Cor. 3:10,11)

Apostle Paul testified of Jesus that is the foundation: “….all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”(1Cor. 10:1-4)

The Holy Ghost showed the eternal life given by fiath through the blood and the water flown out from the body of Jesus struck, as Moses struck the Rock in the wilderness to drink the water.  Lord Jesus also testified of the church to be built on the rock that is his foundation: “That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”(Matt. 16:18)

     The Holy Ghost spoke how the true believers to do by Apostle Paul: “Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”(Cor. 3:12-15)

     This is the message of the Holy Ghost given to the children of God so that they may not walk in vain during the earthly life. The first three building materials are not burning forever that are belong to God; the second three are to be burned that belong to the world to be burned in the future. Apostle Paul encouraged the Corinthians: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”(Cor. 15:58)

In other word, only the work of the Lord is not in vain for it is not to be burned.

       The entire instrument in the tabernacle built by Moses as the LORD God commanded were made of pure gold or overlaid by pure gold. The breastplate on the garment of the High Priest was decorated twelve precious stones (Ex. 25, 26,27,28 chapters). There were gold, silver and precious stones in the presence in the tabernacle.  Apostle Paul testified of the kingdom of God as the righteousness, the peace and the joy in the Spirit (Rom. 14; 17). In other word, the kingdom of God is in the presence of God.

      Speaking in more concrete, gold means the divinity of God; and to build with gold is to be led by the Holy Ghost absolutely obeying God. Silver means the word of God; and King David testified of the word of God: “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever. “(ps. 12:6,7)

       The scriptures also testified of the precious stone: ^“I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.”(Isa. 61:10)

“And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.”(Mal. 3:17)

Yes! Precious stone symbolize the bride of Christ and the remnant of Israel saved for the kingdom of heaven.

     Building with gold, silver and precious stone means the ministry for the word of God and the children of God and the people of God; wood, hay and stubble means the works belong to the world without life. Apostle Paul testified of the Day of Judgment of fire against the worldly works in vain: “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”(2Cor. 5:8-10)

     Lord Jesus spoke to his disciples: “In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”(John 14:2,3)

Lord Jesus was going to prepare the New Jerusalem in heaven that is the eternal dwelling place for the bride of Christ, knowing that they were going to build with gold, silver and precious stone. Jesus showed it to his beloved disciple, John; Apostle John testified: ^“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.”(Rev. 21:2) The New Jerusalem were built with twelve precious stones and pearl and pure gold and so on.

     Apostle Paul testified to the saint of Ephesians of the church of God: “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”(Eph. 1:22,23)

     Yes! There cannot be any kind of corruptible things of the world in the church of God. Only gold, silver and precious stone must be in the church, for the church is the place where the pure brides of Christ build their houses in heaven with gold, silver and precious stone. Amen! Hallelujah!
