금주의 묵상: 시편 12:1-8

본문: 시편 56:1-13

제목: 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하자!

     다윗은 하루에 일곱 번씩 하나님을 찬양하였다 (시 119:164). 오늘 본문에서 다윗 왕은 사람들이 자신을 삼키려고 달려들 때에 두려움 가운데서 주님을 신뢰함으로써 하나님 안에서 주의 말씀을 찬양하리라고 말했다. 본문에서 그는 세 번씩이나 “하나님 안에서 주의 말씀을 찬양하리니.”라고 고백했다. 그는 하나님의 말씀이 그를 위한 서원이라고 증거하면서 “내가 주께 찬양을 드리리이다.”라고 고백했다. 다시 말해서 다윗은 모든 하나님의 말씀이 하나님의 이름으로 자신에게 맹세한 것이라고 믿었던 것이다. 또한 하나님의 약속이라 확신했던 것이다. 사도 바울도 성령 안에서 “실로 하나님은 참되시나 사람은 모두 거짓말쟁이라.”(롬 3:4)고 증거했다. 어떤 사람의 말도 믿을 수 없고 하나님의 말씀만을 믿을 수 있다는 고백이다. 다시 말해서 어떤 사람도 찬양받을 수 없지만 오직 하나님 한 분만이 찬양을 받으실 수 있다는 고백인 것이다.

     오늘날 교회마다 하나님을 경배하고 찬양하는 소리가 그 어느 때보다도 충만한 것을 듣는다. 어떤 찬양을 드리고 있는가? 수천년 전에 살았던 다윗은 주님의 말씀을 찬양하였다. 아마도 하프를 치면서 드렸을 것이다. 뿐만 아니라 사도 바울과 바나바가 이방인들에게 복음을 전하면서 “내가 너를 이방인들의 빛으로 세웠으니 너는 땅 끝까지 구원을 베풀라.”는 예언의 말씀을 이방인들에게 전했을 때, 이방인들이 이 말을 듣자 기뻐하며 주의 말씀을 찬양하였고 영원한 생명을 얻기로 정해진 자들은 다 믿었다 (행 13:47,48).고 증거했다.

     사람으로 이 땅에 나타나셨던 주 예수 그리스도께서는 태초에 말씀으로 계셨으며, 하나님과 함께 계셨고 그 말씀은 하나님이셨다 (요 1:1,2). 그 말씀이 육신이  되시어 사람들 가운데 거하실 때에 그분에게 은혜와 진리가 충만하셨다 (요 1:14). 사람들에게 나타나시는 하나님은 말씀으로 나타나시는 것이다. 예수께서는 사마리아 여인에게 말씀하실 때에 “하나님은 한 영이시니 그분께 경배드리는 자들은 영과 진리로 경배드려야만 하리라.”(요 4:24)고 하심으로써 하나님을 경배하며 찬양드리는 길은 거듭난 영이 진리이신 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하는 것임을 말씀하신 것이다. 다시 말해서 하나님을 찬양하는 것은 그분께서 죄인들에게 주신 약속의 말씀으로 인하여 그분께 찬양으로 감사드리는 것이다.

      하나님께서는 죄인들을 구원하시기 위하여 태초부터 말씀으로 계시던 창조주이신 독생자를 죄인들에게 주신 것이다. 다시 말해서 예수님은 하나님의 말씀이신 것이다. 사도 요한은 재림하시는 주 예수 그리스도의 모습을 말할 때, “피에 적신 옷을 입었는데 그의 이름은 하나님의 말씀이라고 불리더라.”(계 19:13)고 증거했던 것이다.

      하나님의 말씀은 하나님 아버지와 말씀이신 주 예수 그리스도와 성령께서 유대인과 이방인과 하나님의 교회에 대하여 주신 반드시 이루실 약속의 말씀들인 것이다. 하나님은 절대로 거짓말하시는 분이 아니시기에 반드시 이루시기 때문이다. 이것이 우리가 하나님의 모든 말씀을 찬양하는 이유인 것이다. 동시에 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하는 것이 진실로 하나님을 찬양하는 것인 것이다. 다시 말해서 하나님의 말씀을 믿고 그 말씀을 찬양하지 않는 사람은 아무리 멋진 노래로 경배와 찬양을 하나님께 드린다 해도 그것은 진정한 찬양이 될 수 없다는 것이다. 또 다시 말한다면 하나님의 말씀을 읽지도 않고 듣지도 않고 묵상하지도 믿지도 않는 사람이 아무리 멋진 노래로 하나님을 찬양한다고 해도 그것은 진정한 찬양이 될 수 없다는 것이다.

     하나님께서는 세상을 이처럼 사랑하셔서 그의 독생자를 주셨으니, 이는 그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 멸망치 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라는 약속의 말씀 (요 3:16)을 주셨다. 사도 베드로는 이 약속의 말씀에 대하여 영원한 생명을 받은 사람은 “믿음의 결과, 곧 너희 혼들의 구원을 받음이니라.”(벧전 1:9)고 증거했다. 이 하나님의 말씀을 믿는 사람은 그 혼이 죄와 사망과 저주와 지옥으로부터 구원받은 것이라고 확실하게 증거한 것이다. 다윗 왕도 그의 혼의 구원을 주시는 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하면서 “그러므로 내 마음이 기쁘고 내 영광이 즐거워하며 내 육체도 소망 가운데 안식하리니 이는 주께서 내 혼을 지옥에 버려두지 아니하시며 주의 거룩하신 분으로 썩어짐을 보지 않게 하실 것임이니이다. 주께서 내게 생명의 길을 보여 주시리니 주의 면전에는 충만한 기쁨이 있고 주의 오른 편에는 즐거움이 영원무궁토록 있나이다.”(시 16:9-11)라고 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하였다. 말씀이 육신이 되신 주 예수 그리스도께서도 “나는 부활이요, 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살겠고 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 영원히 죽지 아니하리라.”(요 11:25)는 서원의 말씀을  주셨다.

      또한 말씀이 육신이 되신 하나님의 독생자 예수 그리스도께서는 아버지를 대신하여 그를 믿는 자들이 하나님의 아들들이 되는 권세를 주셨다 (요 1:12). 뿐만 아니라 성령께서는 사도 바울을 통하여 하나님의 자녀들에게 더 큰 서원의 말씀을 주셨다. “자녀이면 또한 상속자들이니 하나님의 상속자들이요, 그리스도와 함께 한 공동 상속자들이니 우리가 그와 함께 고난을 받은 것은 함께 영광도 받게 하려 함이니라.”(롬 8:17)

     다윗 왕이 하나님의 말씀 안에서 바라던 오직 한 가지 소망에 대하여 “나, 나는 의 가운데서 주의 얼굴을 보리니 내가 깨면 주의 모습으로 만족하리이다.”(시 17:15)라고 고백하였다. 성령께서는 사도 요한을 통하여 하나님의 자녀들이 받을 영광에 대하여 동일한 약속의 말씀을 주셨다: “사랑하는 자들아, 이제는 우리가 하나님의 이들들이라. 우리가 어떻게 될 것인지는 아직 나타나지 아니하였으나 그가 나타나시면 우리가 그와 같이 되리라는 것을 아노니, 이는 우리가 그분 그대로 볼 것이기 때문이라. 그분 안에서 이 소망을 가지는 사람은 누구나 그분이 정결하신 것처럼 자신을 정결케 하느니라.”(요일 3:2,3)

또한 사도 바울을 통하여서도 “그가 만물을 자신에게 복종시키시는 그 능력의 역사로 인하여 우리의 천한 몸을 그분의 영광스러운 몸같이 변모시키리라.”(빌 3:21)는 말씀을 주셨다.

     주 예수께서는 므나를 남긴 만큼 앞으로 나타날 그의 왕국에서 열 고을 또는 다섯 고을을 다스릴 것이라는 약속의 말씀을 주셨으며 (눅 19:11-19), 성령께서도 사도 바울을 통하여 하나님의 자녀들이 받을 통치권에 대하여, “우리가 참으면 우리도 그와 함께 다스릴 것이요, 우리가 그를 부인하면 그도 우리를 부인할 것이라.”(딤후 2;12)는 말씀을 주셨다. 또한 첫째 부활에 참여하는 자들이 받을 축복에 대하여 “첫 번째 부활에 참여하는 자는 복되고 거룩하도다. 들째 사망이 그들을 다스리는 권세가 없고, 오히려 그들은 살아서 그리스도와 함께 천 년을 통치하리라.”(계 20:6)는 약속의 말씀도 주셨다.

        다윗 왕은 시편 119편을 통하여 아주 구체적으로 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하였다:

“주의 말씀을 내 마음에 간직하였으니 이는 내가 범죄치 아니하려 함이니라.”(시 119:11)

“내가 모든 재물을 기뻐하는 것같이 주의 증거들의 길을 기뻐하였나이다.”(시 119:14)

“주의 종에게 하신 말씀을 기억하소서. 주께서는 나로 그 말씀 위에서 소망을 갖게 하셨나이다.”(시 119:49)

“오 주여, 주의 말씀은 영원히 하늘에 세워졌나이다.”(시 119:89)

“오, 내가 얼마나 주의 법을 사랑하는지요! 그것이 종일 나의 묵상이 되나이다.”(시 119:97)

“주의 말씀은 내 발에 등불이요, 내 길에 빛이니이다.”(시 119:105)

“ 주의 의로운 명령들로 인하여 내가 하루에 일곱 번씩 주를 찬양하나이다.”(시 119:164)

     그렇다! 하늘과 땅에 오직 찬양을 받기에 합당하신 것은 거짓말하지 아니하시며 참되시며 진리이신 하나님의 말씀밖에 없으며 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하는 것이 진정으로 하나님을 찬양하는 길인 것이다. 하나님의 능력의 말씀이 만물을 붙들고 있다고 사도 바울이 증거했다 (히 1:3). 말씀 안에 붙들린 사람은 결코 요동치 않는 다. 말씀을 찬양한 다윗 왕은 “주께서 내 오른 편에 계시므로 내가 요동치 아니하리로다.”(시 16:8)라고 고백했다. 모든 사람은 거짓말쟁이기에 어떤 사람도 찬양받을 자격이 없는 것이다. 하나님의 말씀을 찬양하는 소리가 온 교회에 울려퍼지게 하자! 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 12:1-8

Subject: Praise the word of God!

      King David praise God seven times a day (Ps. 119:164). In the main passage, when man would swallow him up, he trusted in the Lord in the fear; and he said, he will praise the word of God. He confessed three times in the main passage saying, “In God I will praise his word, in God”

He also confessed, the word of God was His vow upon him; and said, “I will render praises unto thee.” In other word, David believed, all the words of God are the vow unto him in the name of the LORD. In other word, all the words of God are the promise for him. Apostle Paul testified in the Spirit, “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar.”(Rom. 3:4)

In other word, he couldn’t believe in the word of any man, but the word of God. He cannot any man, only but the Lord God.

     We are hearing the sound of worship and praise of God in the church service more than before. What kind of praise are they giving Him? Several thousand years ago, King David praised the word of God. He might praise the LORD playing harp. Paul and Barnabas preached the word of prophesy to the Gentiles saying, “I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth.” They heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed (Acts 13:47,48)

     The Lord Jesus Christ which appeared in the earth was the Word in the beginning, and was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1,2). And the Word was made flesh; and he was full of grace and truth (John 1:14). Yes! God manifesting to man is in the form of the word.  Lord Jesus spoke unto the Samarian woman, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”(John 4:24)   In other word, only born again Christian of the Spirit could worship the Lord God praising the truth, the word of God. In other word, to praise God is to give thanks unto God for the word of promise given unto the sinners.

     LORD God has given unto the sinners the only begotten Son that was the creator from the beginning. Jesus is the word of God. Apostle John testified of the second coming the Lord Jesus Christ:  “And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”(Rev. 19:13)

     The word of God is the word of promise given unto the Jew and the Gentiles and the church of God by Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. God never tells a lie, and his word shall be done absolutely. This is the reason why we have to praise the word of God. At the same time, to praise the word of God is the way to praise the Lord God. They that don’t praise the word of God by faith cannot praise God, even though they worship and praise the Lord with beautiful songs. In other word, not reading, hearing, meditating the word of God, no one can praise the Lord even with beautiful songs.

     We have received the word of promise, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 3; 16)

Apostle Peter testified of them that received the everlasting life regarding this word of promise,

“Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”(1Pet. 1:9)

They that believe the word of God are saved from sin and death and curses and the hell for sure. King David also praised the LORD God that saved his soul praising the word of God, “Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”(Ps. 16:9-11)

The Lord Jesus Christ manifested in flesh also gave us the word of vow, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”(John 11:25)

     Jesus Christ also gave us the power to be the children of God on behalf of the Father. (John 1:12)  The Holy Ghost gave us much bigger word of vow through Apostle Paul: “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”(Rom. 8:17)

     King David confessed of his only one hope in the word of God: “As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.”(Ps. 17:15)

The Holy Ghost gave us the same word of promise of the glory for the children of God: “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.”(1John 3:2,3) The Holy Ghost also gave us the same word of promise: “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”(Phil. 3:21)

      Jesus Christ gave us the word of promise of ruling power as many pounds we gain, for ten cities or five cities in his kingdom (Luke 19:11-19). The Holy Ghost also testified of reigning power of the saints through Apostle Paul: ^“If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us :”(2Tim. 2;12)

Also the word of the blessing are given for them that are to be the partaker of the first resurrection: “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”(Rev. 20:6)

     King David praised the word of God through Psalms 119 chapter concretely:

^“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”(Ps. 119:11)

^“I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.”(Ps. 119:14)

“Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope.”(Ps. 119:49)

^“For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”(Ps. 119:89)

“O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.”(Ps. 119:97)

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”(Ps. 119:105)

“Seven times a day do I praise thee because of thy righteous judgments.”(Ps. 119:164)

     Yes! There is the only one thing that is worthy of praise; it is the word of God that is true and never tell a lie. To praise the word of God is the true way to praise God. Apostle Paul testified that the Lord Jesus Christ is upholding all things by the word of his power (Heb. 1:3). They that are upholding in the word of God shall not be moved. King David confessed praising the word of God:“…because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”(Ps. 16:8)

No man is worthy to be praised, for every man is liar. Let us make the praising the word of God to be full in the church. Amen! Hallelujah!
