본문: 골로새서 1:24-2:8

제목:  하나님 안에 있는 그리스도의 신비의 지식

     사도 바울은 로마에 있는 그리스도인들에게 편지할 때 자신을 “그리스도의 종”으로 소개했다. 그는 자신을 그리스도에게 노예같은 존재임을 말한 것이다. 동시에 그리스도를 알아 믿음으로 영원한 생명을 받은 모든 사람들 역시 예수 그리스도의 종이 되어야 함을 말한 것이다. 종에게 요구되는 것은 절대 복종이며 그 이유는 주인되시는 예수 그리스도는 절대자이시며 전능하신 하나님이시기 때문이다.

     예수 그리스도께서는 지상에서 마지막 기도를 하실 때 영원한 생명에 대하여 “영생은 이것이니, 곧 사람들이 유일하시고 참 하나님이신 아버지와 아버지께서 보내신 예수 그리스도를 아는 것이옵니다.”(요 17:3)라고 말씀하셨다. 그렇다! 아버지 하나님과 그분께서 보내신 독생자 예수 그리스도가 누구인지 아는 자만이 그분을 믿고 그분을 영접할 수 있는 것이다.

     사도 바울은 골로새 성도들에게 편지 할 때 그가 아는 예수 그리스도에 대하여 분명하게 증거했다: “그는 보이지 않는 하나님의 형상이시며 모든 피조물의 첫태생이시니, 이는 만믈이 그에 의하여 그를 위하여 창조되되 하늘에 있는 것들과 땅에 있는 것들과 보이는 것들과 보이지 않는 것들과 보좌들이나 주권들이나 정사들이나 권세들이나 만믈이 그에 의하여 또 그를 위하여 창조되었기 때문이라. 그는 만믈 이전에 게시고 또 만물은 그로 말미암아 존속하느니라. 그는 몸인 교회의 머리시라. 그는 시작이시며 죽은 자들로부터 첫 번째 나셨으니 이는 그가 만믈 안에서 으뜸이 되려 하심이라. 이는 모든 충만함이 그의 안에 거하는 것이 아버지를 기쁘게 하셨음이며 그의 십자가의 보혈을 통하여 화평을 이루고 땅에 있는 것이나 하늘에 있는 것이나 그에 의하여 모든 것이 자신과 화해하는 것이라.”(골 1:15-20)

     사도바울이 알고 있는 예수 그리스도는

     첫째로, 그분은 만물을 창조하신 창조주이시다. 예수님께서는 스랍과 그룹(하늘-보이지 않는 것)을 마드셨고, 은하수(하늘-보이는 것)를 만드셨다. 그는 성운과 성단도 만드셨다(하늘-보이는 것). 그는 무저갱을 만드셨고(땅-보이지 않는 것), 천사들(하늘과 땅-보이지 않는 것)을 만드셨다. 그리고 그는 다스리는 통치구역(땅-보이는 것들)을 만드셧다. 그는 해변과 식물, 나무, 새, 동물, 바위, 강, 산, 바다, 구름, 사람들(땅-보이는 것)을 만드셨다. 또한 그분께서는 창세기 1장1절 이전(만물 이전)에 계시고 또 만물은 그로 말미암아 지금도 존속하고 있다고 증거했다.

     둘째로 그가 알고 있는 예수 그리스도에 대하여 우리가 꼭 알아야 할 아주 중요한 진리를 증거했다. 예수 그리스도는 몸인 교회의 머리시라는 것이다. 그가 에베소 교회에게 편지할 때에도 “만물을 그의 발 아래 두시고 그를 만물 위에 머리가 되게 하셔서 교회에게 부셨느니라. 교회는 그의 몸이니 만물 안에 모든 것을 채우시는  분의 충만이니라.”(엡 1:22,23)고 증거했다. 또 교회에게 성령께서 은사들을 주셔서 사도와 선지자와 북음전도자와 목사와 교사를 주시어 성도들을 온전케 하며 섬기는 일을 하고 그리스도의 몸을 세우게 하여 모두가 믿음의 하나됨과 하나님을 아는 지식의 하나됨에 도달하게 하고 온전한 사람이 되어 그리스도의 충만하심의 장성한 분량에까지 이르게 하신다고 증거했다. 그리하여 성도들은 오직 사랑 안에서 진리를 말하며 모든 일에 성장하여 머리 되신 그리스도에게 이르러야 하며 그로부터 온 몸이 각 부분의 분량 안에서의 효과적인 역사를 따라 각 마디를 통하여 공급을 받아 알맞게 결합되고 체격이 형성되어 몸을 성장시키며 사랑 안에서 몸 전체를 세워나간다고 증거했다(엡 4:11-13, 15,16)

    그렇다! 교회는 그리스도의 죽으심을 통하여 그의 보혈로 모든 죄들이 씻김받아 그리스도의 몸 안으로 들어가  하나님과 화해한 성도들의 유기체인 것이다. 동시에 바울은 교회의 사도로서 그들을 거룩하고 흠 없고 책망할 것이 없이 드리고자 함이라고 자신의 직무를 하는 일꾼이라고 증거했다. 그러므로 그는 교회를 위하여 자신이 받는 고난들을 기뻐하였으며 그리스도께서 지상에서 고통받으신 이후에 있는 고통들을 그의 몸인 교회를 위하여 자신의 육신 안에 채우노라고 증거했다. 바울이 루스트라에서 돌에 맞아 죽어 성읍 밖으로 끌려나갔을 때 제자들이 보는 앞에서 살아나서 루스트라에 다시 들어가 제자들의 혼을 강간케 해 주고 그들이 믿음 안에 거하도록 권고하며 또 그들이 많은 환난을 거쳐 하나님의 나라에 들어가야 한다고 그들을 격려한 후에 그들을 떠났다(행 14:19-22)

     그렇다! 하나님의 교회는 그리스도 안에서 거룩하게 창조된 그의 몸인 것이다. 하늘과 땅과 땅 아래 창조된 어떤 것과도 비교할 수 없는 그의 몸인 것이다, 다시 말해서 그리스도의 신부인 것이다. 사도 바울은 에베소 교회 성도들에게 편지 할 때, “사람마다 항상 자기 육신을 미워하지 않고 오히려 육성하고 아끼기를, 주께서 교회에게 하심같이 하나니 이는 우리가 그의 몸과 살과 그의 뼈의 지체임이라. 이런 까닭에 남자가 자기 아버지와 어머니를 떠나 자기 아내와 결합하여 그 둘이서 한 몸이 될지니라. 이것은 위대한 신비라. 그러나 나는 그리스도와 그 교회에 관하여 말하노라.”(엡 5:29-32)고 증거했다.

     사도 바울은 이러한 하나님의 신비로운 경륜을 따라 나타나신 하나님의 말씀을 이루려고 교회를 위한 일꾼이 되었다고 분명하게 증거한 것이다. 다시 말하면 창세 전에 그리스도 안에서 계획하신 때에 찬 경륜, 즉 하나님의 사랑 안에서 그리스도의 몸 된 교회를 그분 앞에 거룩하고 흠 없게 하시려고 하나님의 양자들을 입양하여 그의 독생자 되신 예수 그리스도의 거룩한 신부들로 만드시기 위하여 계획하셨으며 이를 위하여 그리스도께서 피를 흘리셔서 모든 죄들을 용서하시고 그분의 신비로운 뜻 안에서 하늘과 땅의 모든 만물들이 그리스도 안에서 하나가 되는 때에 찬 경륜을 이루는 일에 그가 일꾼이 되었음을 증거한 것이다(엡 1:4-10). 다시 말해서 하나님께서 그리스도와  교회 즉, 그의 신부들과 함께 앞으로 천상천하의 모든 만물들을 그리스도 안에 하나로 모으는 일을 하실 것을 계획하셨다는 이 엄청난 계시를 보여주고 있는 것이다.

      하나님께서는 이 세상을 창조하시기 전에 이미 이 모든 경륜을 계획하셨지만 천지 창조 이후 사천 년이 지나도록 어떤 누구에게도 이 신비이신 그리스도께서 내주하신 적이 없었다. 단지 하나님의 선지자들 안에 잠시 사역을 위하여 계셨던 그리스도의 영이 그리스도의 은혜를 통하여 혼들의 구원을 주실 것에 대하여 그리스도의 고난과 다가올 영광에 대하여 예언하셨던 것이다 (벧전 1:9-11). 하나님께서는 유대인이나 이방인 모두에게 이 신비의 영광의 풍요함이 어떠한지 알리시고자 인내하시며 여러 시대와 여러 세대 동안 신비의 그리스도를 감추어 두셨던 것이다. 마침내 때가 차매 태초에 말씀으로 계셨던 아들 하나님께서 신비의 그리스도가 되셔서 예수라는 이름으로 이 땅에 나타나셨던 것이다. 베드로가 주님께 “주는 그리스도, 곧 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다.”(마 16:16)라고 고백하였을 때, 다시 말해서 베드로가 예수님이 바로 수천 년 동안 감추어졌던 신비의 그리스도이심을 깨닫고 고백하였을 때, 예수께서는 즉시 대답하셨다: “바요나 시몬아, 네가 복이 있도다. 이를 너에게 나타낸 것은 혈과 육이 아니라 하늘에 계신 나의 아버지시니라. 나도 너에게 말하노니, 너는 베드로라, 그리고 이 반석 위에 나의 교회를 세우리니, 지옥의 문들이 이기지 못하리라”(마 16:17,18)  

     그렇다! 주와 그리스도이신 예수께서는 자신을 알아보는 자에게 그의 교회에 대해 계시하신다. 다시 말해서 그를 알고 영접한 사람들에게 영원한 생명을 주시며 자신의 몸인 교회의 지체가 되게 하셔서 그들의 몸 안으로 들어가셔서 한 몸을 이루시는 것이다. 이때부터 그들은 영광의 소망 안에서 살게 되는 것이다. 이 영광의 소망의 무엇인가? 사도 디도는 영광의 소망에 대하여 “그 복된 소망, 곧 위대하신 하나님이신 구주 예수 그리스도의 영광스러운 나타나심을 기다리게 하셨음이니 그가 우리를 위하여 자신을 주신 것은 우리를 모든 죄악에서 구속하시고 자신을 위해 정결케 하사 선한 일에 열심을 내는 독특한 백성이 되게 하려 하심이라.”(딛 2:13,14)고 증거했다.

      그러나 이 세상 신인 마귀는 이 영광의 소망을 알지 못하도록 지금도 방해하고 있으며, 이 세상 교육 속에 들어있는 철학과 헛된 속임수를 사용하여 우리의 자녀들을 미혹하고 있음을 알고 인내로 기도해야 할 것이다. 사도 바울은 “그러나 만일 우리의 복음이 가려졌다면 그것은 구원받지 못한 자들에게 가려진 것이라. 그들 가운데 이 세상의 신이 믿지 않는 자들의 마음을 어둡게 하여 하나님의 형상이신  그리스도의 영광스러운 복음의 광채가 그들에게 비치지 못하게 하느니라.”(고후 4:3,4)고 경고했다.

     그렇다! 하늘과 땅에서 가장 거룩하고 복된 사람들의 모임은 오직 하나님의 교회이며 그리스도의 몸인 교회밖에 없는 것이다. 그러나 세상 신인 마귀는 이 사실을 깨닫지 못하게 미혹하고 있는 것이다. 교회만이 유일한 하나님의 나라(왕국)인 것이다. 또한 교회를 위한 고난만이 가장 값지고 영원한 상을 얻는 주의 일인 것이다. 교회 안에 있는 지체들 안에는 그리스도가 계시기에 그들을 섬기는 일은 바로 그리스도를 섬기는 일이기 때문이다. 그러기에 사도 바울은 그리스도의 고난을 통하여 이루신 교회를 위하여 자신의 육신에 모든 고통을 채운다고 고백한 것이다. 사도바울은 지금도 우리를 격려하고 있는 것이다:

“그러므로 나의 사랑하는 형제들아, 견고하라. 흔들리지 말라. 항상 주의 일을 넘치게 하라. 이는 너희의 수고가 주 안에서 헛되지 아니한 줄을 너희가 앎이니라.”(고전 15:58) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Subject: Mysterious knowledge of Christ in God

     Apostle Paul introduces himself as a servant of Jesus Christ to the saints in Rome in his epistle. He meant himself as a slave bonded to Jesus Christ. At the same time, every Christian that received the eternal life through Jesus Christ must be the servant of HIM, he implied. The servant is to obey the Lord Jesus Christ that is Absolute Almighty God.

     Jesus Christ defined the life eternal in his final prayer in the earth saying,

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”(John 17:3) Yes! Only they that know the Father God and his only begotten Son sent by him could believe in him to receive.

     Apostle Paul testified of Jesus Christ clearly that he knew to the saints of Colossians:

 “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”(Col. 1:15-20)

     Jesus Christ that Apostle Paul knew:

     Firstly, he is the Creator of all things. Jesus created Seraphims and Cherubims (invisible in heaven), milky ways(visible in heaven), clouds of stars(visible in heaven), bottomless pit(invisible in earth), angels(invisible in heaven and earth), and he also created reigning area(visible in the earth), Oceans, plants, trees, fowls, animals, rocks, rivers, Seas, clouds and men(visible in the earth). He is before Genesis 1:1(before all things were created), and by him all things consist.

     Secondly, he also testified of the truth of Jesus Christ that we should know: “Jesus Christ is the head of the church that is his body” When he wrote to the saints of Ephesians, he testified:

“And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”(Eph. 1:22,23) He continued to testify, the Holy Ghost has given apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors and teachers to the church through the gifts of the Holy Ghost for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ till we all come in unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, and unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. He also continued to testify that we speak the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (Eph. 4:11-13, 15,16)

     Yes! The church of God is an organism of the saints that are reconciled with God through the cleansing all sins by the blood of Christ through his death. At the same time, Apostle Paul testified of his ministry presenting every man perfectly holy in Christ Jesus without spot and blemish. Therefore he rejoiced in his suffering for the saints of the church, and he filled up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in his flesh for his body’s sake, which is the church. In Lystra, he was stoned to death to be drawn out of the city; he rose again before the eyes of his disciples to enter the city again; and he confirmed the souls of the disciples, and exhorted them to continue in the faith; and encouraged them saying, “we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”(Acts 14;19-22)

     Yes! The church of God is the holy body created in Christ. Nothing can be compared to this in heaven and earth. In other word, the church is the bride of Christ. Apostle Paul testified to the saints of Ephesians: “For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. “(Eph. 5:29-32)

     Apostle Paul was made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to him for us, to fulfill the word of God. In other word, he is the minister for the dispensation of the fullness of time in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love to be adopted as children by Jesus Christ to be made us the holy bride of Christ. For this, Christ Jesus shed his blood for the remission of our sins to gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him (Eph. 1:4-10). In other word, in Christ, God planned to gather together all things in Christ in heaven and earth through Christ and his bride, his church. What a wonderful revelation it is!

     Even though God made the plan of all the dispensations before the foundation of the world, Christ which is mystery had never been in any body for four thousand years since heaven and earth was made. But the spirit of Christ as the spirit of ministry which was in the prophets did signify, when it is testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ for the salvation of souls through the grace of Christ, and the glory that should follow (1pet. 1:9-11). To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Jews and the Gentiles even though the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations by the patience of God, but now is made manifest to his saints. Finally, when the time is fulfilled, the God the Son which was the Word in the beginning appeared as the Christ of mystery in the name of JESUS. When Peter confessed to Jesus, understanding him as the Christ hid for thousands years “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”(Matt. 16:16), Jesus answered him right away, “Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”(Matt. 16:17,18)

     Yes! Jesus that is the Lord and Christ reveals his church for them that know him. In other word, he is willing to give the life eternal to them that know him and receive him; and make them the members of his church that is his body; and enter into them to make them a body in him. Then, they are to live in the hope of glory. What is the hope of glory? Apostle Titus testified of the hope of glory: “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”(Tit. 2:13,14)

     But the Devil, the god of the world is trying to blind men so that they may not see the hope of glory; and he is seducing our children using philosophy and deceit in the education system in the world. We have to pray for them. Apostle Paul warned of this seduction: “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”(2Cor. 4:3,4)

      Yes! It is the church that is most holy and blessed among the gathering of man in heaven and earth, even the body of Christ. But the Devil is still seducing people let they should understand such important truth. Only the church of God is the kingdom of God in the earth until Christ comes again. Only the affliction for the sake of the church is most precious work of the Lord for the eternal reward. Christ is dwelling in the members of the church; therefore to minister them is the way to minister Christ. It is the reason why Apostle Paul filled up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in his flesh for his body’s sake. Apostle Paul is encouraging us even now saying, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”(1Cor. 15:58)
