금주의 묵상: 이사야 53:1-12

본문: 히브리서 12:1-3

제목: 예수님만 바라보며 그분을 깊이 생각하자!

       사도 바울은 예수님만 바라보며 달려가는 그의 삶 가운데 히브리인들에게 간곡하게 권면하고 있다. 또한 예수님만을 바라보면서 달려갈 길을 다 마치고 하늘에서 쉬면서 이 땅에 있는 그리스도인들을 둘러싸고 지금도 응원하고 있는 수많은 증인들에 관하여 증거하고 있다. 마치 경기장의 관중석에 앉아 경기장에서 아직도 경기를 하고 있는 지상의 그리스도인들을 향해 소리치며 격려하는 모습으로 그들을 묘사하고 있는 것이다. 또한 아직도 무거운 짐을 짊어지고 죄를 버리지 못하고 힘들게 달려가는 어린 그리스도인들을 위한 애타는 부르짖음의 소리를 들을 수 있다.

     동시에 이 세상에서 믿음의 길을 달려가면서 끝까지 승리하는 비결은 단 한 가지라고 사도 바울은 증거하고 있는 것이다. 그것은 믿음의 창시자요 완성자이신 예수를 바라보는 것이며 그분께서 지상에 계실 때에 우리들에게 죄와 사망과 저주와 지옥 형벌로부터 구원받는 믿음을 주시어 은혜로 구원받는 길을 여시기 위하여 십자가의 모든 고난을 견디시고 수치를 개의치 않으셨기게 하나님의 보좌 오른 편에 앉으신 사실을 바라보라는 것이다. 동시에 그분께서 그렇게 하실 수 있었던 유일한 것이 있다면 자기 앞에 놓인 즐거움을 바라보셨다는 것이다. 다시 말해서 십자가가 면류관으로 바뀌는 순간인 부활의 날을 바라보셨다는 것이다.

     사도 바울은 예수님께서 우리의 죄들뿐만 아니라 우리가 받을 수치까지 모두 받으시고 그 수치를 심지어 미워하시면서까지(Despised the shame) 개의치 않으셨다고 증거하고 있는 것이다. 또한 사도 바울은 죄인들이 저질렀던 모순된 행동들을 견뎌내신 예수님을 깊이 생각함으로써 이 세상을 살아가고 있는 그리스도인들이 지치지 않고 낙심치 않기를 바라는 간절한 마음을 보여주고 있는 것이다.

      본문에 나타난 “예수”님은 태초에 말씀이셨으며 천지를 창조하신 하나님이신 분께서 아담의 자손처럼 사람으로 나타나신 분을 말하는 것이며 앞으로 만왕의 왕이시며 만주의 주로서 하늘과 땅을 회복하셔서 영원토록 통치하실 그리스도가 되시기 위하여 그 첫 번째 선지자 사역을 하시기 위하여 연약한 모습으로 나타나신 분을 의미하는 것이다.

      하나님께서는 선지자 이사야를 통하여 그분께서 진리를 전파하시기 위하여 이 땅에 보내실 독생자이신 예수님께서 어떤 모습으로 나타나실 것이며 어떤 고난을 받으실 것을 미리 예언하셨다: “우리가 전한 것을 누가 믿었으며, 주의 팔이 누구에게 나타났느냐? 이는 그가 그 앞에서 연한 싹같고 마른 땅에서 나온 뿌리같이 자랄 것이며, 그는 모양도 우아함도 없으시니 우리가 볼 때에 그를 흠모할 아름다움도 없음이라. 그는 멸시받고 거부되었으며 슬픔의 사람이요 질고에 익숙한 사람이라. 우리가 우리의 얼굴을 그로부터 숨긴 것같이 그는 멸시를 받았고 우리는 그를 존중하지 아니하였도다. 실로 그가 우리의 질고를 지고 우리의 슬픔을 지었는데도 우리는 그가 형벌을 받아 하나님께 맞으며 고난당한 줄로 생각하였도다. 그러나 그는 우리의 허물로 인하여 상처를 입었고, 그는 우리의 죄악으로 인하여 상하였도다. 우리의 화평을 위한 징게가 그에게 내려졌고, 그가 맞은 채찍으로 우리가 치유되었도다. 우리는 모두 양같이 길을 잃어 각자 자기의 길로 돌이켰으나 주께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 지우셨도다.”(사 53;1-6)

       자신을 예수님의 사랑을 가장 많이 받은 제자로 소개한 사도 요한은 태초에 말씀으로 계시다가 이 땅에 육신으로 나타나신 예수님에 대하여 증거했다: “그 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시므로, (우리가 그의 영광을 보니, 아버지의 독생자의 영광으로) 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라.”(요 1:14)

다시 말해서 그분 안에는 은혜와 진리만으로 기득차 있으며 우리가 그분께로부터 받은 것은 오로지 은혜와 진리라는 것이다. 사도 바울은 이 은혜에 대하여 증거했다: “허물과 죄들 가운데서 죽었던 너희를 그가 살리셨으니, 전에는 너희가 그것들 가운데서 이 세상의 풍조를 따르고 공중 권세의 통치자, 곧 지금은 불순종의 자녀들 안에서 역사하는 영을 따라 행하였으니 그들 가운데서 우리 모두가 이전에는 우리 육신의 정욕들 가운데서 행하였으며 육신과 마음의 욕망들을 이루어 다른 자들과 마찬가지로 본래 진노의 자녀였느니라. 그러나 자비가 풍성하신 하나님께서 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑으로 인하여 죄들 가운데서 죽었던 우리를 그리스도와 함꼐 살리셨으니 (너희가 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이니라.) 또한 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수 안에서 천상에 함께 앉히셨으니 이는 하나님께서 그리스도 예수 안에서 인자하심 가운데 우리를 향한 그의 지극히 풍요함을 오는 시대들에게 보여 주시려 함이니라. 너희가 믿음으로 말미암아 은혜로 구원을 받았으니 이것은 너희에세거 난 것이 아니요, 하나님의 선물이라.”(엡 2:1-8)

     그렇다! 우리는 그분 안에 있는 은혜를 받은 것이다. 그러면 그분께서 우리에게 이처럼 큰 은혜를 주시기 위하여 무엇을 하셔야만 했는가? 그 은혜 안에는 그분의 죽으심이 있는 것이다. 우리가 진리이신 하나님의 말씀 앞에서 아무도 살아남을 수 없지만 그분께서는 우리가 받은 심판을 대신 받으시고 죽으심으로써 우리들에게 생명을 주신 것이다. 우리가 받은 생명 안에는 예수님의 죽으심이 있는 것이다. 사도 바울은 진리로 우리를 심판하지 않으시고 자신이 우리의 모든 죄들을 전가받으셔서 스스로 하나님의 심판을 받으시고 죽으신 사실을 증거했다: “율법이 육신을 통하여서는 연약하여 할 수 없는 것이므로 하나님께서 죄때문에 자신의 아들을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내 그 육신에 죄를 선고하셨으니 이는 율법의 의가 우리 안에서 이루어지게 하려 함이라.”(롬 8:3,4)

     그리스도인(Christian)이란 그리스도이신 예수님을 따라가는 사람들을 말한다. 다시 말해서 선지자로 오셔서 이 땅에서 모든 고난을 당하신 예수님의 행적을 그대로 따라가는 무리들을 말하는 것이다. 다시 말해서 그들도 예수님처럼 은혜와 진리가 충만해야 하는 것이다. 은혜가 충만할 때 그들 역시 세상 사람들이 모순된 말과 행동으로 공격할 때에 저들을 위해 죽을 수 있는 것이다. 또한 어떤 수치를 당할 때에도 이미 예수님께서 이미 담당하신 것을 알기에 부끄러워하지 않는 것이다. 그렇게 할 수 있는 것은 오로지 그들 앞에 놓인 즐거움, 부활의 날, 즉 휴거의 날을 바라보기 때문인 것이다.

     예수님께서 자신의 죽으심을 통하여 우리에게 은혜를 주셔서 생명을 주신 것처럼 우리도 세상 죄인들이 무지한 방법으로 공격하고 박해를 할지라도 우리 자신이 온전히 죽게 될 때 우리 안에 죽으셨던 예수님을 그들이 보고 은혜를 받아 그들 역시 은혜를 받아 생명을 받게 되는 것이다. 사도 바울은 그렇게 할 수 있는 능력을 이미 주신 분에 대하여 증거했다: “그러므로 우리가 믿음을 통하여 의롭게 되었으니 우리 주 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님과 화평을 깆느니라. 또 그분으로 인하여 우리가 서 있는 이 은혜 안에 믿음으로 나아가며 하나님의 영광의 소망을 즐거워하느니라. 이뿐만 아니라 우리가 환난들도 즐거워하나니 환난은 인내를 이루고 인내는 연단을, 연단은 소망을 이루는 줄 앎이라. 소망이 부끄럽지 않는 것은  우리에게 주신 성령에 의하여 하나님의 사랑이 우리 마음 속에 부어졌기 때문이라.”(롬 5:1-5)

     그러면 우리가 어떻게 예수님처럼 은혜와 진리가 충만한 삶을 살 수 있는 것일까? 사도 바울은 에베소 교회 성도들에게 이에 대하여 권면했다: 그러므로 그가 말씀하시기를 ‘잠자는 자여 깨어라. 그리고 죽은 자들로부터 일어나라. 그러면 그리스도께서 네게 빛을 주시리라..’ 고 하셨느니라. …술취하지 말라. 그것은 방탕한 것이니 오직 성령으로 충만하라. 시와 찬송과 영적인 노래들로 너희에게 말하고 너희 마음으로 주께 노래하며 곡조를 만들고 항상 모든 일에 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 하나님, 곧 아버지께 감사를 드리며 하나님을 두려워함으로 서로 복종하라.”(엡 5:14,18,19,20)

그렇다! 성령으로 충만할 때 우리도 은혜와 진리로 충만할 수 있는 것이다. 이때에 우리도 세상을 향하여 죽을 수 있는 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week:  Isaiah 53:1-12

Main scripture: Hebrews 12:1-3

Subject: Look unto Jesus, and consider him!

     Apostle Paul is encouraging Hebrews sincerely in the midst of his life where he is looking unto only Jesus and running. He also testified of the witnesses as a great cloud that is resting in heaven after finishing their life that had looked upon Jesus, and are surrounding the Christians to encourage them. They are described as them that are sitting at a stadium to cheer up the Christians that are still running in the tracks. We can also hear their anxious voice toward baby Christians that are still bearing every weight and sin.

     Apostle Paul is testifying of an only way to successful life to victory to the end of life in faith in the world. It is the look upon Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame to open the door for us to be saved from sin and death and the punishment of the hell and set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Only reason why he could endure the cross is to look upon the day of resurrection with joy when the cross is to be changed to the crown.

     Apostle Paul is testifying of Jesus that had received not only our sins, but all the shame for us despising the shame. He is also encouraging Christians to consider Jesus that endured against contradiction of sinners against him, not to be wearied and faint.

     “JESUS” appeared in the main passage is the one that was the Word in the beginning and the God the Creator of heaven and earth, and was manifested in flesh as the seed of Adam, and appeared as a tender plant to do his ministry as a Prophet to be the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords to restore heaven and earth in the future.

     The LORD God had prophesized of Jesus, the only begotten Son of God to be sent to the earth to peach the truth, and to suffer through prophet Isaiah: “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”(Isa. 53:1-6)

     Apostle John that introduces himself as the most beloved disciple of Jesus testified of Jesus that was the Word in the beginning, and manifested in flesh: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. “(John 1:14)

In other word, only grace and truth are full within him that we received. Apostle Paul testified of this grace: “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”(Eph. 2:1-8)

     Yes! We have received the grace in him. Then what had he to do to give us such a great grace? We have to know his death in his grace. We cannot survive before the truth, the word of God, but he received judgment to death on behalf of us to give us life. Therefore there is his death in the life that we received. Apostle Paul of Jesus that did not judge us with the truth, but receive the judgment through imputation of all our sins unto his flesh to death: “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”(Rom. 8:3,4)

     The Christian is the one that follows Christ Jesus. In other word, they are ready to take all kind of suffering of him to do the ministry of prophet in this earth. Therefore they are also being full of grace and truth. When they are full of grace, they also could die for the sinners in the world even though they may attack with contradiction. And they shall not be shameful in any circumstances of shame knowing that Jesus despised the shame for them. Only reason why they could endure all kind of contradiction and shame is because they are looking forward the joy before them that is the day of resurrection, the day of Rapture.

     As Jesus has given us eternal life through his grace that is his death, we also could give the same chance for life through grace of Jesus to the sinners through manifestation of Jesus within us when we die completely even though they prosecute us in many ways of contradiction. Apostle Paul testified of him that has given us such power: “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”(Rom. 5:1-5)

     Then, how can we have the life full of grace and grace as Jesus? Apostle Paul encouraged the saints of Ephesians of this: “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. …..   ¹⁸And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”(Eph. 5:14,18,19,20)

     Yes! When we are full of the Spirit, we could be full of grace and truth. Then we could also die to the world. Amen! Hallelujah!
