금주의 묵상: 시편 91:1-16

본문: 요한복음 16:7-15

제목: 영원한 생명을 주시기 위해 세상을 책망하시는 성령님

     세상 죄를 용서하시고 제거하시려고 고난 받으시고 십자가에서 물과 피를 쏟으시기 전에 주님께서는 아주 중요한 말씀을 제자들에게 하시고 있다. 제자들은 주님께서 하늘로 떠나가신다는 말씀에 슬픔으로 가둑 차 있었다. 주님께서 하늘로 가시게 되면 주님의 이름으로 성령님께서 오셔서 세상을 책망하시고 바로 잡으신 후에 구원하여 위로하실 것을 말씀하셨다. 첫 사람 아담이 범죄한 후 사탄이 이 세상의 통치자가 되어 사천 년 동안 통치하면서 세상과 하나님 사이를 이간하여 하나님께서 창세 전에 그리스도 예수 안에서 계획하신 구원 계획을 알지 못하도록 미혹하였던 것이다. 그러나 하나님께서는 예수 그리스도를 통하여 모든 세상 사람들이 멸망하지 않고 구원받을 길을 열어 놓으시고 이 사실을 세상으로 하여금 깨닫게 하시려고 성령님을 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 보내신 것이다. 위로자이신 성령님께서 세 가지를 책망하시는 바, 이 세 가지를 깨닫게 되면 사람들이 사탄의 속임수로부터 벗어나 영원한 생명을 받아 사탄과 그의 천사들을 위하여 준비된 지옥불에 가지 않게 되기 때문이다.

      첫째로, 죄에 대하여 책망하신다. ,“죄에 대하여라 함은 그들이 나를 믿지 않기 때문이라.”고 말씀하신다. 다시 말해서 예수님을 믿지 않는 것이 죄라는 것이다. 아담이 범죄한 이후 천년 정도 지났을 때, 세상은 사악함이 창대하게 되었으며 사람의 마음의 생각의 모든 상상이 악함으로 가득 차게 되었다(창 6:5). 결국 하나님께서는 노아 가족을 제외한 모든 사람을 홍수로 지면에서 쓸어버리셨다. 그후에 천 년이 지났을 때 사람들은 여전히 죄악 가운데 살았고 하나님께서는 아브라함을 택하여 그의 자손들과 할례의 언약을 맺으셨고 모세를 통하여 십계명을 비롯한 율법을 주셨다. 또한 이스라엘 자손을 통하여 구원자이신 예수 그리스도를 보내실 계획을 하셨다. 하나님께서는 율법을 주심으로써 사람들이 죄인임을 깨닫고 그들이 그리스도께로 나아가 그분을 믿음으로써 의롭게 되는  길을 열어놓으신 것이다 (갈 3:24).

     그러나 사탄은 여전히 모든 사람들을 죄의 종으로 만들어 하나님을 부인하며 원망하고 더욱 죄악 속으로 끌려들어가 생을 포기하고 지옥으로 가면서도 할 수 없이 사탄을 따라 가게 만들고 있는 것이다. 그러나 성령께서는 이천 년 전부터 지금까지 여전히 세상을 책망하시고 계신다. 성령께서는 사도 요한을 통하여 성경을 기록하게 하심으로써 모든 죄를 이미 예수님께서 십자가를 통하여 제거하시고 해결하신 사실을 말씀하시면서 이제는 모든 죄들을 제거하신 예수 그리스도를 믿지 않는 것이 죄라는 사실을 책망하고 있는 것이다.

     예수님께서 이 사실을 친히 증거하시고 사도 요한을 통하여 성령 안에서 분명히 기록하셨다:

“모세가 광야에서 뱀을 들어올린 것같이 인자도 그렇게 들어올려져야만 하리니 이는 그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 함이니라. 하나님께서 세상을 이처럼 사랑하셔서 그의 독생자를 주셨으니, 이는 그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이니라. 아들을 믿는 사람은 정죄를 받지 아니하나 믿지 않는 사람은 이미 정죄를 받은 것이라. 이는 그 사람이 하나님의 독생자의 이름을 믿지 않았기 때문이라.”(요 3:14-17)

그렇다! 이 세상에 태어난 모든 사람은 모태에서 이미 뱀에게 물려 나온 것이다. 뱀에 물리면 독이 온 몸에 퍼질 때에 죽게 되는 것처럼 모든 사람은 아담의 죄로 인해 모태에서 죄악 중에 잉태되기 때문에 그 죄의 독이 온 몸에 퍼지게 되면서 몇 십 년 동안 살다가 죽게 되는 것이다. 사도 바울은 “이는 죄의 삯은 사망이요, 하나님의 선물은 예수 그리스도 우리 주로 말미암은 영원한 생명이기 때문이라.”(롬 6:23)고 증거했다.

     이스라엘 백성이 하나님과 모세를 거역하였을 때, 하나님께서 불뱀을 백성 가운데로 보내시어, 그것들이 백성들을 무니 많은 백성들이 죽었다. 백성들이 하나님께 회개하였을 때 하나님께서 모세에게 놋쇠로 불뱀 한 마리를 만들어서 그것을 장대 위에 달아놓으라고 말씀하시면서 물린 자마다 그것을 쳐다보면 살리라고 말씀하셨다. 그리하여 뱀이 물어도, 그 놋 뱀을 보는 자마다 살았다 (민 21:5-9) 뱀에 물린 백성들은 어떤 선택도 할 여지가 없게 되었다. 그들 생각에 그 놋뱀을 쳐다보든 안 보든 죽을 것이라 여겨졌을 것이다. 그러나 믿음으로 쳐다 본 사람은 모두 살았다고 성경은 증거하고 있다.

     예수께서는 자신이 그 옛날 장대에 달렸던 놋뱀처럼 십자가에 달리실 것을 말씀하셨다. 그 예수님을 믿음으로 쳐다보고 영접하는 사람마다 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻을 것이라고 말씀하셨다. 성령께서 책망하시는 음성을 듣고 자신이 뱀에 물린 사람처럼 조만간 죽게 될 것을 깨닫고 그 예수님을 믿음으로 쳐다보는 사람마다 영원히 사는 축복을 받는 것이다. 그러기에 죄의 삯은 사망이지만 하나님의 선물은 예수 그리스도 우리 주를 믿음으로 받는 영원한 생명이라고 사도 바울이 증거한 것이다.

     둘째로, 성령께서는 지금도 의에 대하여 세상을 책망하신다. “의에 대하여라 함은 내가 아버지께 가므로 너희가 나를 더 이상 보지 못하기 때문이며”   다시 말해서 의롭게 되지 못하면 어느 누구도 하나님이 계시는 하늘에 올라가지 못한다는 것이다. 다시 말해서 하나님께서 예수 그리스도를 통하여 주시는 구원을 받고 의롭게 되지 못하면 다는 어떤 방법으로도 의로워질 수 없다는 것이다. 사도 바울은 성령 안에서 증거했다: “유대인들이나 이방인들이나 다 죄 아래 있다고 우리가 이미 증거하였느니라. 기록된 바와 같으니 ‘의인은 없나니 없도다, 한 사람도 없도다. 깨닫는 자도 없고 하나님을 찾는 자도 없도다. 모두가 탈선하여 함께 무익하게 되었으며 선을 행하는 자가 없으니 없도다. 한 사람도 없도다.’”(롬 3:9-12)

“불의한 자는 하나님의 나라를 상속받지 못한다는 것을 너희가 알지 못하느냐? 속지 말라. 음행하는 자들이나 우상 숭배하는 자들이나 간음하는 자들이나 여자처럼 행세하는 자들이나 남자 동성연애자들이나 도둑질하는 자들이나 탐욕을 부리는 자들이나 주정뱅이들이나 욕설하는 자들이나 착취하는 자들은 하나님의 나라를 상속받지 못하리라.’(고전 6:9, 10)

     셋째로, 성령께서는 심판에 대하여 세상을 책망하고 계신다. “또 심판에 대하여라 함은 이 세상의 통치자가 심판을 받기 때문이라.”

이 세상의 통치자기 누구인가? 에덴 동산에 찾아와서 첫 사람에게 죄를 가져온 옛 뱀인바, 사탄이라고 하며 마귀라고도 하는 자인 것이다. 그는 육천 여년 동안 이 세상을 통치하면서 세상을 속이고 있는 것이다. 마지막 아담으로 오셔서 아담으로 인해 온 세상에 퍼진 세상의 모든 죄들을 자신의 피로 대가를 치르시고 죄로 인해 죽어야 하는 시람들을 위하여 대신 죽으시고 장사되셨다가 셋째 날에 살아나셔서 사망의 권세를 이기신 예수 그리스도를 알고 믿지 못하도록 여전히 속이고 있는 것이다. 그러나 사탄은 이미 심판을 받은 것이다. 그러므로 심판 받은 사탄이 통치하는 이 세상은 더 이상 소망이 없게 된 것이다. 조만간 만왕의 왕이시며 만주의 주이신 주 예수 그리스도께서 오시면 그 심판을 집행하실 것이다. 사도 요한은 그 장면을 보고 증거했다: “또 내가 보니, 한 천사가 하늘에서 내려오는데, 그의 손에는 끝없이 깊은 구렁의 열쇠와 큰 사슬을 가졌더라. 그가 용을 잡으니, 곧 마귀요 사탄인 옛 뱀이라. 그를 천 년 동안 묵어두니 그를 끝없이 깊은 구렁에 던져서 가두고 그 위에 봉인하여 천 년이 찰 때까지는 민족들을 다시는 미혹하지 못하게 하더라. 그후에는 그가 반드시 잠시 동안 풀려나게 되리라….그들을 미혹하던 마귀가 불과 유황 못에 던져지니 그곳에는 그 짐승과 거짓 선지자도 있어 영원무궁토록 밤낮 고통을 받으리라.”(계 20:1-3, 10)

     사도 바울과 사도 요한은 하나님께서 예수라는 이름으로 이 땅에 나타나신 이유에 대하여 분명하게 증거했다: “자녀들이 피와 살에 참여하하는 자인 것같이 그 역시 같은 모양으로 동일한 것에 참여하신 것은 자신의 죽음을 통하여 죽음의 세력을 가지 자, 곧 마귀를 멸망시키며 또 죽음을 두려워 함으로 평생 노예로 속박되어 있는 자들을 놓아주시려 함이니라.”(히 2:14,15)

“죄를 짓는 자는 마귀에게 속하나니 이는 마귀가 처음부터 죄를 짓기 떄문이라. 이 목적으로 하나님의 아들이 나타나셨으니, 곧 마귀의 일들을 멸하시려는 것이라.”(요일 3:8)

     성령께서 하시는 세 가지 책망을 깨닫는 자들은 복된 자들이다. 다시 말해서 자신이 죄인이라는 사실을 마음 깊히 깨닫는 자는 세상의 어느누구보다 복된 자인 것이다. 이런 자들은 자신의 의가 걸레같은 사실을 깨닫고 (사 64:6) 예수 그리스도를 통하여 주시는 하나님의 의를 취함으로써 영원한 생명을 선물로 받는 축복을 누리게 되는 것이다. 또한 심판에 대한 책망을 깨닫는 사람은 이 세상에 소망을 두지 않고 주 예수 그리스도께서 오시는 날 새 하늘과 새 땅과 새 예루살렘에서 누릴 축복을 준비하게 되는 것이다. 또한 진리의 영이신 성령께서는 하나님의 자녀들을 모든 진리로 인도하시며 앞으로 다가올 일들을 알려주시는 것이다. 다시 말해서 진리를 깨닫고 주님께서 오시는 날을 미리 준비하게 하시는 것이다.

      사탄은 지금도 죄인들을 속이고 있다. 그들이 죄를 지었기 때문에 구원받을 길이 없는 것처럼 미혹하여 그를 따라 지옥으로 향하게 하고 있는 것이다. 그러나 그들이 지옥에 가는 것은 죄를 지었기 때문이 아니라 그들의 모든 죄를 해결하신 예수님을 믿음으로 마음에 영접하지 않기 때문이라고 성령께서 책망하고 계신 것이다. 한 순간의 무지로 인해 영원한 멸망으로, 또 한 순간의 깨달음으로 영원한 생명으로 들어가는 것이다. 이것이 우리가 복음을 전해야 하는 이유인 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 91:1-16

Subject: The Holy Ghost that reproves the world to give the life eternal

     The Lord Jesus gave a very important message unto his disciples, right before he suffers and shed his blood and water to forgive the sin of the world, and take it away. His disciples were filled with sorrow upon hearing that Jesus was going to leave them to go to heaven. He was speaking unto them that the Holy Ghost shall come in his name to reprove the world to comfort them giving salvation. Since the first man, Adam sinned, the Satan, the prince of the world had been seducing the world separating them from God so that they might not know the plan of God that is the salvation. But God open the door of salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ so that they may not perish. This is the reason why God sent the Holy Ghost, the Comfort to the world in the name of Jesus Christ. The Holy Ghost reproves the world in three ways; whosoever understands the message of the Holy Ghost shall be free from the seduction of the Devil, and shall not go to the fire of hell prepared for the Satan and his angels.

     Firstly, he reproves of sin. “Of sin, because they believe not on me;” In other word, it is the sin that they don’t believe on Jesus. Since Adam sinned, one thousand years passed by. The wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually (Gen. 6:5). Finally, God swept all men with the flood except Noah and his family. And another thousand years passed by. men was living in the evil way continually. God chose Abraham to make the covenant of circumcision, and gave the law to his people through Moses. God had planned to send the Savior, Jesus Christ through the seed of Israel. The LORD God opened the way to be righteous coming to Christ through the law understanding themselves sinners (Gal. 3:24).

     But the Satan still wants all men to make his servant so that they reject God saying against him giving up their life to follow the Satan to the hell. But the Holt Ghost still has been reproving the world for two thousand years. The Holy Ghost inspires Apostle John so that he might write the scripture to reveal the truth that Jesus Christ had taken away the sin of the world. It is the way that the Holy Ghost is reproving the world of sin that man not believe on Jesus.

     Jesus himself testified of this, and he made Apostle John write in the Spirit: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”(John 3:14-17)

     Yes! All men that are born in the world are bitten by the serpent in the mother’s womb. As the poison spreads out all the body unto death upon bitten by serpent, all men are to die after seventy or eighty years when the poison of sin spread out all the body. Apostle Paul testified: ^“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”(Rom. 6:23)

     When the people of Israel spoke against God and against Moses, God sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. When they repented to God, the LORD said unto Moses, make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole; and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looks upon it, shall live. Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. (Num. 21:5-9). The people of Israel that were bitten by the serpents had no choice at all. They might think, they shall die whether they behold the serpent on the pole or not. But the word of God testifies, every man that beheld the serpent by faith on the pole lived.

     Jesus said, he shall be set on the cross as the fiery serpent of brass was set on the pole saying every one that behold him  to receive him by faith shall have eternal life. Upon hearing that the Holy Ghost reproves, and understanding that they are bitten by the fiery serpent to death, every one shall have eternal life upon behold Jesus by faith. Therefore, Apostle Paul testified, the wage of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

     Secondly, the Holy Ghost is reproving the world of righteousness still now. “Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;”

In other word, no one can go to heaven without righteousness where God is. In other word, there is no way to be righteous other except that man receive the salvation through Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul testified in the Spirit:  “ … for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”(Rom. 3:9-12)  

“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.”(1Cor. 6:9, 10)

     Thirdly, The Holy Ghost is reproving the world of judgment. ^“Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”

Who is the prince of the world? He is the old serpent called as the Satan and the Devil that brought sin to the man in the Mount Eden. He has been seducing the world reigning in the earth for six thousand years. He still is seducing the world so that people may not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who came to the world as the last Adam to redeem the sin of the world through his blood unto death, and buried, and rose again the third day to overcome the power of death. But the Satan is judged already. Therefore the world where the Satan judged by the Lord Jesus Christ is reigning is no hope anymore. Sooner or later, the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords shall come to execute the judgment against the Satan, the prince of the world. Apostle John testified of the scene of judgment: “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. ….   ¹⁰And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”(Rev. 20:1-3, 10)

     Apostle Paul and Apostle John testified of the reason why God manifested in the form of man, Jesus in the earth:

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”(Heb. 2:14,15)

“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”(1John 3:8)

     Blessed are those that understand the three things that are reproved by the Holy Ghost. In other word, more blessed than anyone else are those that understand themselves miserable sinners deeply in the heart understanding their righteousness as the filthy rags (Isa. 64:6) to receive the righteousness of God  given by the Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Whosoever understands the rebuke of judgment shall not hope in the current world, but prepare the blessing in the new heaven and the new earth and the New Jerusalem when the Lord Jesus Christ comes again to the earth. And the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of truth will guide the children of God into all truth, and show them things to come. In other word, the Holy Ghost will give understanding all truth so that they may be prepared for the coming of Christ.

     The Satan is still deceiving the sinners. He seducing them saying, they had already sinned so that they had no way to be save but make them heading to the hell with him. But they are on the way to the hell, not because they sinned, but they don’t receive Jesus by faith even though Jesus redeemed their sins. To the eternal destruction by the ignorance in a moment, or the eternal life by understanding the truth in a moment, it is the question. This is the very reason why we have to preach the gospel until Christ comes. Amen! Hallelujah!
