금주의 묵상: 16:1-11

본문: 누가복음 16:19-31

제목: 죽은 후에 가야하는 단 두 종류의 장소

       하나님의 종들을 포함하여 많은 종교인들, 그리고 대부분의 사람들이 지옥이 없다고 단정하고 있다. 그 이유에 대하여 그들은 “사랑의 하나님이 어떻게 사람들을 영원토록 고통받는 지옥으로 보내실 수 있겠는가?” 라고 말한다. 또한 누구든지 지옥 이야기만 하면 어딘가 무식해 보이고 극단주의자처럼 보이는 때가 되었다. 그러므로 강단에서 지옥에 대한 설교가 사라진지 오래다. 하나님을 알지 못하는 사람들마져도 “사랑의 하나님” 운운하면서 지옥이 없다고 외치고 있지만, 정작 하나님께서 육신을 입고 나타나신 예수님께서는 (딤전 3:16) 오늘 본문에서 “지옥”에 누군가가 갔다고 분명하게 말씀하고 계신다. 지옥을 믿지 않는 사람은 이 예수님의 말씀을 믿지 않는 사람들이요, 실상은 하나님을 믿지 않는 사람들인 것이다. 하나님께서 지옥을 만드신 것은 그의 자녀들을 마귀와 악한 자들로부터 영원히 보호하시기 위한 사랑 때문인 것이다.

     본문을 통하여 알 수 있는 사실은 부자는 하나님을 믿지 않은 사람이며 거지 나사로는 하나님을 믿은 자라는 것을 알 수 있다. 부자는 이름이 없지만, 거지는 “나사로”라는 이름을 가지고 있다. 다시 맔해서 나사로의 이름은 생명책에 기록되어 있지만 부자는 없다는 것이다. 그러므로 성경의 마지막 책인 요한게시록 20:15에서는 “누구든지 생명의 책에 기록되지 않은 자는 불못에 던져지리라.”고 말씀하고 있다.

     부자와 나사로 둘 다 죽어서 무덤에 갔는데 부자는 지옥에서 고통을 받으며 눈을 들어 아브라함을 보면서 소리지르고 있다. 또한 자신의 눈으로 아브라함의 품에 안겨 있는 나사로를 보고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 자신의 혀에 물을 젹셔달라고 애원하면서 “내가 이 불꽃 가운데서 고통을 받고 있나이다.”라고 부르짖고 있다.   분명히 그들 모두가 무덤에서 사흘만 지나도 육신이 모두 부패하여 벌레가 먹고 있을텐데 어떻게 여전히 눈으로 보고 입으로 말하며 불꽃 가운데서도 타지 않고 고통을 받고 있다. 또한 나사로는 아브라함의 품에 안겨 평안 가운데 부자의 모습을 아브라함과 함께 보고 있다. 이들은 이미 몸을 벗고 그들의 혼이 보고 듣고 말하고 있는 것이다. 하나님께서는 사람을 만드실 때 흙으로 몸을 만드시고 그의 콧구멍 속으로 생명의 호흡을 불어넣으셔서 살아있는 혼(soul)으로 만드셨다 (창 2:7). 그러므로 혼은 살아있기 때문에 육신처럼 썩지도 않고 타지도 않지만 고통을 느낄 수 있는 것이다. 그러므로 한 사람의 혼은 지옥에서 고통을 받고 잇으며, 또 다른 한 사람의 혼은 낙원같은 아브라함의 품에 평안 가운데 있는 것이다.

     그런데 우리가 알아야 할 것은 그 당시 예수 그리스도께서 아직 십자가에서 피흘리시고 죽으시기 전인 율법 시대인 것이다. 그러므로 하나님을 믿으며 율법 안에서 살던 사람들은 죽어서 혼이 아브라함의 품으로 갔던 것이다. 그들은 그곳에서 예수 그리스도께서 피를 흘리실 때까지 기다려야 했다. 그후에 예수 그리스도께서 죽으시고 셋째 날에 부활하셨을 때 그들은 부활하여 셋째 하늘로 올라갔던 것이다. 마태는 이 사실을 이렇게 증거했다:  “예수께서 큰 음성으로 소리지르신 후, 숨을 거두시더라. 그런데, 보라, 성전의 휘장이 위에서 아래까지 둘로 찢어지고 땅이 흔들리며, 바위들이 갈라지고 무덤들이 열리며 잠들었던 많은 성도들의 몸이 일어났으며 주께서 부활하신 후에 무덤에서 나와 거룩한 도성으로 들어가 많은 사람들에게 나타나더라. 백부장과 그와 함께 예수를 지키고 있던 사람들은 지진과 그 일어난 일들을 보고 크게 두려워하며 말하기를 ‘참으로 이 사람은 하나님의 아들이었도다.’라고 하더라.”(마 27:50-54) 로마의 백부장마져도 이 사실을 증거했으니 그 얼마나 무서운 광경이었을지 상상이 간다. 앞으로 있을 휴거의 날에는 더 엄청난 광경이 벌어질 것이다. 아브라함의 품에 있었던 나사로도 이들 무리 중에 있었음이 분명하다.

       그러므로 그후 부터 그곳은 비어 있으나 지옥은 여전히 땅 속에 있으며 그 부자는 여전히 고통받고 있는 것이다. 예수 그리스도께서 죽으시고 그의 몸은 무덤에 가셨지만 그분의 혼은 아브라함의 품으로 가셔서 부활 하실 때 그들을 그분과 함께 다시 살리셨던 것이다. 그러므로 주님께서는 회개한 한 편 강도에게 말씀하셨다:

“진실로 내가 네게 말하노니, 오늘 네게 나와 함께 낙원에 있으리라.”(눅 23:43) 그렇다! 주님께서 말씀하신 낙원은 바로 땅 속에 있었던 아브라함의 품으로서 구약시대에 구원받은 성도들의 혼들이 있었던 곳이었다. 주님께서 부활하실 때 그들과 함께 부활하심으로써 잠자는 자들의 첫열매들(first fruits)이 되신 것이다 (고전 15:20) 이제 낙원이었던 아브라함의 품은 지금은 셋째 하늘에 있는 것이다. 사도 바울은 이렇게 증거했다:“내가 십사 년 전에 그리스도 안에서 한 사람을 았았는데 (그가 몸 안에 있었는지 나는 말할 수 없지만 하나님께서는 아시느니라.) 그 사람이 셋째 하늘로 끌려 올라갔느니라….그가 낙원으로 끌려 올라가서 말로 다 설명할 수 없는 말을 들었는데 그것은 사람들에게 말하도록 허락되지 않은 것이로다.”(고후 12:2,4)

       그러므로 지금도 구원받지 못한 사람들의 혼은 여전히 지옥으로 가고 있으며 천년왕국이 지난 후 마지막 백보좌 심판 후에 지옥 전체가 불못으로 떨어지게 될 것이다: “사망과 지옥도 불못에 던져지니 이것이 둘째 사망이라.”(계 20:14)  그러므로 예수 그리스도의 피를 믿어 그 피를 통하여 만물보다 더 악한 양심이 씻겨지지 않고서는 아무도 하나님을 볼 수 없는 것이다. 그러므로 구약성도들은 지하에 있는 낙원인 아브라함의 품에서 그리스도께서 피를 흘리실 때까지 기다려야 했던 것이다. 히브리서 기자는 그리스도의 피에 대하여 이렇게 증거하고 있다: “황소와 염소의 피와 송아지의 재도 불결한 자들에게 뿌려 그 육체를 정결케 함으로써 거룩하게 한다면 하물며 영원하신 성령을 통하여 흠 없는 자신을 하나님께 드린 그리스도의 피가 너희 양심을 정결케 하여 살아 계신 하나님을 섬기게 하지 못하겠느냐?”(히 9:13,14) 그러므로 누구든지 예수 그리스도의 피를 믿고 그분을 영접한 사람들은 믿는 순간에 거룩하게 되는 것이다: “그 뜻에 따라 모든 사람을 위하여 한 번 예수 그리스도의 몸을 드리심으로써 우리가 거룩하게 된 것이라.”(히 10:10)

     그러므로 사도 베드로는 우리가 받은 구원에 대하여 우리의 어떤 부분이 구원을 받은 것인지에 관해 증거했다: “너희가 그를 보지 못하였으나 사랑하며, 지금도 그를 보지 못하나 믿고 있으며, 또 말할 수 없이 영광으로 가득 찬 기쁨으로 즐거워하나니 이는 너희 믿음의 결과, 곧 너희 혼들의 구원을 받음이니라.”(벧전 1:8,9) 다시 말해서 온전한 회개와 다불어 혼이 구원을 받을 때에 죽은 영이 거듭나게 되며 죽을 몸이 부활하게 되는 것이며, 이 몸이 부활하는 날이 바로 그리스도께서 공중에 나타나시는 그리스도의 날이요, 그리스도의 신부들이 휴거되는 날인 것이다. 또한 이 부활에 참여하는 자들은 첫째 부활에 참여하는 자들로서 영원한 유업을 받는 축복을 받게 되는 것이다: “첫 번째 부활에 참여하는 자는 복되고 거룩하도다. 둘째 사망이 그들을 다스리는 권세가 없고, 오히려 그들이 하나님과 그리스도의 제사장들이 되어 천 년 동안 그와 함께 통치하리라..”(계 20:6)

      그렇다! 그들은 둘째 사망, 곧 불못과 상관 없는 자들인 것이다. 그들은 하나님과 그리스도와 함께 영원무궁토록 영광 가운데 살면서 유업을 누리게 될 것이다. 그러나 불못에 떨어진 자들은 영원토록 고통을 받게 되는 것이다. 그러므로 하나님께서는 그의 독생자를 죽여가면서 까지 이 세상을 사랑하셨지만 그를 믿지 않는 자들은 멸망할 수 밖에 없는 것이다. 하나님께서는 이천 년을 이틀처럼 기다려 오셨기에 아무도 하나님을 원망할 수 없는 것이다. 그러므로 하나님은 사랑이시지만 공의의 하나님이신 것이다. 오늘 우리 앞에 지옥과 천국이 있다. 주 예수 그리스도를 믿는 자는 멸망하지 않고 아브라함의 품을 거치지 않고 셋째 하늘에 있는 천국에 갈 것이지만 그렇지 않으면 지옥으로 가서 영원히 생명의 하나님과 분리되어야 하는 것이다. 바로 오늘이 어디에서 영원을 보낼 것이가? 그리고 어떻게 보낼 것인가? 두 가지를 결단해야 하는 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 16:1-11

Subject: Only two kinds of places prepared after death

      Almost all people argue, no hell exist, including the servants of God as well as many religious people, because they believe, God is love; and he will never send people to the hell where men are tormenting forever. If anyone speaks of the hell, he is considered to be ignorant, and to be a radical man. It has been long time since the sermon of the hell was faded away from the pulpit in the church. Even though non-Christians cry out saying no hell at all because of God of love, but Jesus that God manifested in flesh (Tim 3:16) speak of a man in the hell very clearly. They that don’t believe in the hell not believe in the word of Jesus that is real God. The very reason why God had prepared the hell is to protect his children from the Devil and the wicked ones forever, because he loves them.

       The rich man in the main passage is the one that doesn’t believe in God; and Lazarus, a beggar believed in God.  The name of the rich man is not written, but the beggar has a name, as Lazarus. In other word, the name of Lazarus is written in the book of life; but the other man not written within it. The last book of bible testifies of this:

   ^“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”(Rev. 20:15)

     Both of them went down to the graves after death; the rich one is being tormented in the hell, and is crying out to Abraham lifting his eyes. He also is looking at Lazarus in the bosom of Abraham. He is asking Abraham to send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his figure in water saying, I am tormented in this flame. Their body must have been corrupted in three or four days in the grave, and been eaten up by worms. Then they still see with their eyes, and speak with their mouth, and are tormented in the flame. And Lazarus is in peace in the bosom of Abraham, and looking at the rich man with Abraham. Actually their soul is speaking and seeing taking off their body. When God made a man, he formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Gen. 2:7). The soul of man is living one; so it is not burnt nor corrupted as flesh, but still feel the pain of torment. Therefore the soul of the rich man is tormented in the hell; the other one is living in peace in the bosom of Abraham.

       One thing that we must understand is that they live in the age of the law of God, for it was before Jesus Christ died on the cross shedding the blood. In the days of the law, they that lived in the law believing God went down to the bosom of Abraham after death. Their souls had to wait for the day when Jesus Christ shed his blood. Afterward, when Christ Jesus rose again the third day after he died, they also rose again with him to go to heaven. Matthew testifies of this:   ^“Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.”(Matt. 27:50-54)

Even the centurion testified of their resurrection; we can imagine how much marvelous the scene was. Much more marvelous scene shall happen in the day of Rapture. Lazarus must have been in the saints that resurrected.

     Therefore, the bosom of Abraham has been empty; but the hell is still under the earth where the rich man is still tormented. The body of Jesus Christ went down to the grove, but his soul went down to the bosom of Abraham to raise them with him. Jesus said to the repentant thief: “Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.”(Luke 23:43) Yea! The paradise was located under the earth; and it was called the bosom of Abraham where the saved souls in the Old Testament Days. Jesus Christ became the first fruits of them that slept when he rose again with them (1Cor. 15:20). The bosom of Abraham that was called as the paradise is now in the third heaven. Apostle Paul testified of this:   ^“I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven…..   How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.”(2CVor. 12:2, 4)

       Therefore the souls of unsaved ones still go to the hell after death. And the hell shall be cast into the lake of fire after the final judgment of God that shall happen after the Millennium of Jesus Christ:   ^“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death” (Rev. 20:14). Therefore no one can see God unless his wicked conscience is purified by the blood of Jesus Christ by faith. That’s the reason why the saints of the Old Testament had to wait until Jesus Christ shed his blood. The writer of Hebrews testified of the blood of Christ:  ^“For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”(Heb. 9:13, 14)  Therefore whosoever believes in the blood of Jesus Christ to receive him is sanctified when they believe: ^“By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”(Heb. 10:10)

       Therefore Apostle Peter testified of which part of us received the salvation:   ^“Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”(1Pet. 1:8, 9) In other word, the dead spirit is born again when our soul is saved through total repentance; the mortal body shall live again. The day of resurrection of our body is the day of Christ when Christ appears in the air, and the day of the Rapture of the bride of Christ. They that are partaker of first resurrection is to be blessed to receive the eternal inheritance:  ^“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”(Rev. 20:6)

       Yea!! They are nothing to do with the second death that is the lake of fire; they rather shall live in glory with inheritance with God and Christ. But they that are cast into the lake of fire shall be tormented forever. Because God so loved the world even sacrificing his only begotten Son; whosoever doesn’t believe in his Son must be perished. No one can argue with God about the hell, for he has waited for two thousand years. Therefore God is love, and also righteous. Hell and heaven are before us today. Whosoever believes in Jesus Christ shall not perish, but to the kingdom in heaven not passing through the bosom of Abraham; but non believers shall be separated from God forever in the hell. This is the day of decision where we shall spend the eternity; and how shall spend the eternity. Amen! Hallelujah!
