금주의 묵상: 시편

본문: 에베소서 2:1-10

제목: 이방인들이 받은 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜의 복음

      하나님께서는 1500여년 동안 이스라엘 백성들에게 율법을 주셔서 그들이 죄 가운대 태어난 것을 깨닫게 하시려고 그들이 죄를 지을 때마다 수많은 짐승들이 그들을 위한 대속물이 되어 피를 흘리게 하심으로써 그들의 죄들을 용서받는 일을 계속하게 하셨다. 그들은 모세와 하나님 앞에서 모든 율법을 지킬 것을 맹세하였지만  그들은 하나님을 떠나 이방 나라들과 그들의 신들을 섬기게 되었고 하나님께서 보내신 선지자들의 말에 경청하지 않다가 BC 594년에 바벨론에 포로잡혀 가게 되었고 하나님의 독생자시며 창조주시며 하나님이신 예수 그리스도의 말씀까지도 듣지 않고 그들의 왕까지 죽이게 되었으며 AD70년에는 로마 장군 티투스에 의해 예루살렘이 완전히 파괴되어 그때부터 그들은 나라를 잃어버리고 온 나라들로 유리방황하게 되었다.

      하나님깨서는 마귀가 가져온 죄 때문에 온 세상이 죄와 사망 가운데 처하게 됨을 아시고 창세 전부터 하나님께서는 예수 그리스도를 이 땅에 보내시어 마귀와 그의 한 일들(죄와 사망)을 멸하시기로 이미 작정하셨다. 하나님께서는 죄를 이 세상에 가져온 옛 뱀, 곧 마귀에게 기다렸다는 듯이 선포하셨다. 이 선포는 모든 세상 사람들을 구원하시기 위한 복음의 선포였다:

“네가 이것을 행하였으니, 너는 모든 가축과 들의 모든 짐승보다 저주를 받아 네 배로 다닐 것이며 네 평생토록 흙을 먹을 지니라. 내가 너와 여자 사이에, 또 네 씨와 그녀의 씨 사이에 적의를 두리니, 그녀의 씨는 너의 머리를 부술 것이요, 너는 그의 발꿈치를 부술 것이라.”(창 3;14,15)  

       하나님께서는 이 복음을 이 세상에 선포하시기 위하여 사도 요한과 사도 바울을 특별히 선택하셨다. 특히 시도 바울은 유대인과 이방인의 사도로 부르심을 받은 사람이었다. 그 중에 사도 바울은 이방인의 사도로서 평생을 쓰임받은 사람이었다. 사도 요한은 에덴동산에서 하나님께서 선포하신 복음에 대하여 다시 한 번 증거했다: “죄를 짓는 자는 마귀에게 속하나니 이는 마귀가 처음부터 죄를 짓기 때문이라. 이 목적으로 하나님의 아들이 나타나셨으니, 곧 마귀의 일들을 멸하시려는 것이라.”(요일 3:8)

사도 바울도 동일한 증거를 했다: “자녀들이 피와 살에 참여하는 자인 것같이 그 역시 같은 모양으로 동일한 것에 참여하신 것은 자신의 죽음을 통하여 죽음의 세력을 가진 자, 곧 마귀를 멸망시키시며, 또 죽음을 두려워하므로 평생을 노예로 속박되어 있는 자들을 놓아주시려 함이니라.”(히 2:14, 15)

     사도 바울은 본문에서 에베소 교회 성도들에게 주 에수 그리스도의 죽음과 부활하심을 통해 죄인임을 깨닫고 그를 맏는 사람들에게 주시는 하나님의 풍성하신 자비와 크신 사랑으로 인하여 죄로 인하여 죽엇던 자들을 그리스도와 함께 살리셨다고 증거하고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 그리스도와 함꼐 천상에 함께 앉히셧다고 증거한다. 또한 그들이 받은 구원에 대하여  그들이 한 것은 단지 예수를 믿음으로 말미암아 은혜로 구원을 받게 되었으며 그 구원은 전적으로 하나님의 선물이며 그들이 어떤 의로운 행위는 한 가지도 고려되지 않았다고 확실하게 증거하고 있다. 다시 말해서 주 예수 그리스도의 십자가에 못박힘과 흘리신 보혈만이 구원의 모든 조건이 됨을 천명하고 있는 것이다.

       옛날 선지자 이사야는 사람의 의에 대하여 임 증거한 바 있다; “그러나 우리는 다 불결한 것 같고, 우리의 모든 의는 더러운 걸레 같으며, 또 우리는 다 잎사귀처럼 시들며 우리의 죄악들은 바람처럼 우리를 옮겨갔나이다.”(사 64:6)

선지자 예레미야도 사람의 죄는 어떤 것으로도 씻을 수 없음에 대하여 확실하게 증거했다: “에디오피아인이 그의 피부를 바꿀 수 잇으며 표범이 그의 점들을 바꿀 수 있겠느냐? 그렇다면 악을 행하는 데 익숙한 너희도 선을 행할 수 있으리라…마음은 만물보다 거짓되고 심히 악하니 누가 그것을 알 수 있으리요? 나 주는 마음을 살피고 나는 속을 시험하며 그 사람의 행위와 행실의 결과대로 각 사람에게 주노라.”(렘 13;23, 17:9, 10)

     은혜의 복음에 대하여 부활하신 예수 그리스도로부터 직접 받은 사도 바울은 이방인 교회들에게 편지할 때마다 은혜의 복음을 전했으며 그의 편지가 성경으로 기록되어 신약성경의 주류를 이루고 있는 것이다. 그러므로 사도 바울은 이 은헤의 복음에 대하여 화평의 복음(롬 10:15), 그리스도의 복음(롬 1:16), 심지어는 나의 복음(롬 2:16)이라고 증거함으로써 예수 그리스도께서 흘리신 보혈을 통하여 대속의 은혜로 받은 복음을 전하는 데 평생을 바쳤던 것이다.

       그러면 사도 바울이 전햇던 은헤의 복음에 대하여 성경말씀을 통하여 상고해 보자:

사도 바울은 로마에 있는 사람들에게 그리스도의 복음을 전하면서 그 복음 안에는 사람의 어떤 의도 없으며 오직 하나님의 의만 있다고 증거했다: “내가 그리스도의 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이는 이 복음이 믿는 모든 사람을 구어너에 이르게 하는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라. 첫째는 유대인에게요, 또한 헬라인에게로다. 이 복음 안에는 믿음에서 믿음에 이르게 하는 하나님의 의가 게시되었으미 기록된 바 ‘의인은 믿음으로 살리라.’함과 같으니라.”(롬 1:16, 17)

     또한 사도 바울은 복음을 통한 하나님의 확실한 목적에 대하여 증거했다: “그분께서 미리 아신 자들을  자기 아들의 형상과 일치하게 하시려고 또한 예정하셨으니 이는 그를 많은 형제 가운데서 첫태생이 되게 하려 하심이니라. 그리하여 예정하신 이들을 ㅋ또한 부르시고 부르신 이들을 또한 의롭게 하시고 의;롭게 하신 이들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라. 그렇다면 이런 일에 대하여 우리가 무슨 말을 하리요? 하나님께서 우리를 위하신다면 누가 우리를 대적하리요? 자기 아들을 아끼지 아니하시고 우리 모든 사람을 위하여 내어주신 분이 어찌 그 아들과 함께 또한 모든 것을 값없이 주시지 아니하겠느냐? 하나님께서 택하신 자들에게 누가 혐의를 씌우리요? 의롭다 하시는 분은 하나님이시니라. 누가 정죄하리요? 죽었다가 다시 살아나신 분은 그리스도시라. 그분은 또한 하나님의 오른 편에 계셔서 우리를 위하여 중보하시느니라.”(롬 8:29-34)

       사도 바울은 고린도교회에 편지할 때에 죄인들이 구원받는 것은 어떤 사람의 지혜로운 말로도 불가능하며 오직 성령과 능력으로만 된다고 증거했다: “형제들아, 내가 너릐에게 와서 하나님의 증거를 전할 때에 말과 지혜의 탁월함으로 하지 아니하였노라. 이는 내가 예수 그리스도와 그의 십자가에 못박히심 외에는 너희 가운데 아무 것도 알지 아니하기로 작정하였음이라. 내가 너희와 함께 잇을 때에 연약함과 두려움과 심한 떨림 가운데 있었노라. 또 내 말과 내 설교를 설득력 있는 인간의 지혜의 말로 하지 않고 성령과 능력을 나타냄으로 하였으니 이는 너희의 믿음이 인간의 지혜에 있게 하지 아니하고 하나님의 능력에 있게 하려 함이라.”(고전 2:1-5) 

       사도 바울은 사람들이 믿을 때 영원한 생명을 받는 그리스도의 복음이 무엇인지 아주 간단명료하게 증거함으로써 어떤 무식한 사람이라도 구원받도록 하시는 그리스도의 은혜를 증거했다. 에디오피아 내시는 이 복음을 전심으로 믿고 침례를 받앗을 때 성령을 받고 기쁨이 넘쳐 갈 길을 갔던 것이다 (행 8:32-39): “형제들아, 내가 너희에게 전한 복음을 이제 너희로 알게 하노니 이는 너희가 받앗고 그 안에 선 것이라. 만이 너희가 내가 전한 복음을 굳게 잡고 헛되이 믿지 아니하였다면 복음을 통하여 너희도 구원을 받은 것이라. 내가 받은 것을 먼저 너희에게 전달하였나니 이는 성경대로 그리스도께서 우리의 죄들로 인하여 죽으시고 잔사되셨다가 성경대로 셋째 날에 다시 랑아나셔서 게바에게 보이시고 그 후에 열 두 사도에게 보이신 것이라.”(고전 15:1-5)

      또한 그는 죄 가운데 잇는 고린도교회 성도들에게 그들이 과연 구원을 받았는지 스스로 확인해 보라고 경고했다.: “너희가 믿음 안에 있는지 너희 자신을 시험하고 스스로 입증하라. 예수 그리스도께서 너희 안에 게신 것을 스스로 알지 못하느냐? 그렇지 못하면 너희는 버림받은 자들이라.”(고후 13:5)

       사도 바울은 그리스도의 복음을 떠나 다른 복음을 쫓고 있었던 갈라디아인들의 교회에게 경고했다: 나는 너희가 그리스도의 은혜 안으로 너희를 부르신 분으로부터 그렇게 빨리 떠나 다른 복음을 따르게 됨을 이상히 여기노라. 다른 복음은 없나니 다만 너희를 교란사카는 어떤 사람들이 잇어서 그들이 그리스도의 복음을 변개시키려는 것이라. 그러나 우리뿐만 아니라 하늘에서 온 천사라도 우리가 너희에게 전한 것 외에 어떤 다름 복음을 전한다면 그는 저주를 받으리라.”(갈 1:6-8)

       그가 경고한 이유에 대하여 사도 바울은 “오 어리석은 갈라디아 사람들아, 예수 그리스도께서 너희 가운데서 십자가에 못박히신 채로 너희 눈 앞에 분명히 제시되었는데 너희가 진리에 순종하지 못하도록 누가 너희를 미혹하더냐? 내가 너희에게 알고자 하는 것은 오직 이것이니 너희가 율법의 행위로 성령을 받앗더냐? 아니면 믿음을 들음으로냐? 너희가 그렇게 어리석으냐? 성령 안에서 시작하엿다가 이제는 육체로 온전해지랴 하느냐? 너희가 그처럼 많은 고통을 헛되이 받았느냐? 과연 그것이 헛도니 것이더냐? 그러면 너희에게 성령을 전해 주고 너희 가운데서 기적들을 행하는 그가 율법의 행위로 하는 것이냐? 아니면 믿음을 들음으로냐? 아브라힘이 하나님을 믿으니 그것이 그에게 의로 여겨졌다 함과 같으니라.”(갈 3;1-6)

       사도 바울은 에베소 교회 성도들에게 편지하면서 그들이 받은 성령은 그들이 하나님의 소유물이 되었기 때문에 어누누구도 빼앗아 갈 수 없음을 분명하게 증거했다: “그분 안에서 너희도 진리의 말씀, 곧 너희 구원의 복음을 듣고서 그분을 신뢰하였으니 또 너희가 그분을 믿고서 약속의 성령으로 인침을 받은 것이니라. 이는 값 주고 사신 그 소유를 구속하기까지 우리의 유업의 보증이 되사 그의 영광을 찬양하게 하려 하심이라.”(엡 1:13, 14)

      사도 바울의 사역에 동참했던 빌립보 교회 성도들에게는 다시 한 번 그리스도의 복음과 성도들의 믿음의 목표에  대하여 증거했다: “그러나 나에게 유익하던 것은 무엇이나 그리스도를 위하여 다 손실로 여겼느니라. 실로 모든 것을 손실로 여김은 그리스도 예수 나의 주를 아는 것이 가장 고상하기 때문이며 내가 그를 위하여 모든 것을 잃어버리고 그것들을 오히려 배설물로 여김은  그리스도를 얻기 위함이요 또 그 안에사 발견되고자 함이니 나의 의는 율법에서 난 것이 아니요, 그리스도를 빋음으로 말미암아 나온 것이니 곧 믿음에 의해서 하나님께로부터 나온 의라.”(빌 3:7-9)

      사도 바울은 골로세에 있는 성도들에게 편지 할 때, 그리스도의 복음이 그리스도의 보혈을 통하여 우리의 모든 죄들이 용서되었고 하나님과 화해하게 된 복음이라 증거했다: “그분께서 우리를 흑암의 권세로부터 그하여 내셔서 그분의 사랑하는 아들의 나라로 옮겨주셨으니 그 안에서 우리가 그의 보혈을 통하여 구속, 곧 죄들의 용서함을 받았느니라….그의 십자가 보혈을 통하여 화평을 이루고 땅에 있는 것이나 하늘에 있는 것이나 그에 의하여 모든 것이 화해하는 것이라.”(골 1:13,14,20)

       사도 바울은 영적인 아들 디도에게 편지하면서 구원받은 사람은 이미 새 피조물(고후 5:17)이 되기 위하여 중생, 곧 성령으로 거듭나 새 사람임을 증거했다: “우리가 행한 의로운 행위에 의하지 않고 그의 자비하심에 따라 중생(Regeneration)의 씻음과 성령의 새롭게 하심으로 우리를 구원하셨으니 이 성령을 에수 그리스도 우리 구주를 통하여 우리에게 풍성히 부어 주셨느니라.”(딛 3:5, 6)

       사도 바울은 히브리인들에게 편지할 때에 예수 그리스도를 믿는 자들의 죄들이 용서될 때에 일어나는 현상에 대하여 증거했다 :영원하신 성령을 통하여 흠 없는 자신을 하나님께 드림 그리스도의 피가 어찌 죽은 행실에서 너희 양심을 정결케 하여 살아계신 하나님을 섬기게 하지 못하겠느냐?…그 뜻에 따라 모든 사람을 위하여 한 번 예수 그리스도의 몸을 드리심으로 우리가 거룩하게 된 것이라.”(히 9:14, 10:10)

       그러나 구원받은 사람도 여전히 죄악 세상에 살면서 마귀에게 속을 때마다 죄를 지을 수밖에 없는 것이다. 성령께서는 사도 요한을 통하여 그 죄들을 어떻게 처리하여야 하는 지에 대하여 증거하게 하셨다: “만일 우리가 우리에게 아무 죄도 없다고 말하면 우리 자신을 속이는 것이요 진리가 우리 안에 있지 아니하나 우리가 우리 죄들을 자백하면 그는 신실하시고 의로우셔서 우리의 죄들을 용서하시며, 모든 불의에서 우리를 깨끗하게 하시느니라. 만일 우리가 죄를 짓지 아니하였다고 말하면 우리는 그분을 거짓말쟁이로 만드는 것이요, 그분의 말씀이 우리 안에 있지 아니하니라.”(요일 1:8-10)

       주 예수 그리스도께서 우리가 받은 구원에 대하여 하신 말씀들:

“사람이 거듭나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라를 볼 수 없느니라….사람이 물과 성령으로 태어나지 아니하면 하나님의 나라에 들어갈 수 없느니라.”(요 3:3,5)

“하나님께서 세상을 이처럼 사랑하셔서 그의 독생자를 주셨으니, 이는 그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 멸망하지 않고 영생을 얻게 하려 하심이라.”요 3:16)

“아들을 믿은 자는 영생을 가졌고 그 아들을 믿지 않는 자는 생명을 보지 못하고 오히려 하나님의 진노가 그 사람 위에 머물러 있느니라.”(요 3:36)

“내 살을 먹고 내 피를 마시는 자는 누구든지 영원한 생명을 가졌나니 내가 그를 마지막 날에 살리리라.”9요 6:54)

“나는 부활이요 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살겄이며 또 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 영원히 죽지 아니하리라.”(요 11:25,26)

“내 양들은 내 음성을 들으며 나는 그들을 알고 그들은 나를 따르느니라. 내가 그들에게 영생을 주노니 그들은 영원히 멸망하지 않을 것이며, 또 아무도 나의 손에서 그들을 빼앗지 못할 것이니라. 그들을 나에게 주신 내 아버지는 만유보다 더 위대하시니, 아무도 내 아버지의 손에서 그들을 빼앗아 갈 수 없느니라. 나와 아버지는 하나이니라.”(요 10:27-30)

       그렇다! 우리가 받은 구원에 관하여는 에수 그리스도의 피를 통한 은혜에 그 어떤 행위나 어떤 성사도 섞을 수 없는 것이다. 그렇다면 그야말로 하나님께 대한 엄청난 죄를 저지르는 결과가 되는 것이다. 우리는 율법을 모두 범한 자들이다. 그러므로 우리의 구원을 위하여는 온전히 예수 그리스도의 피만을 의지해야 하는 것이다. 우리가 받은 구원은 전적으로 그리스도의 은혜이기에 우리의 어떤 행위로도 받은 구원을 잃어버릴 수 없는 것이다. 다만 우리를 위하여 에바하신 유업을 받지 못할 뿐인 것이다.

“너희가 이것을 알거니와 음행하는 자나 더러운 자나 욕심 남ㅎ은 자, 곧 우상 숭배자는 누구든지 하나님과 그리스도의 왕국에서 상속받을 것이 없느니라. 아무도 너희를  헛된 말들로 속이지 못하게 하라. 이는 이런 일들 때문에 하나님의 진노가 불순종의 자녀들 위에 임하기 때문이니라.”(엡 5:5, 6) 아멘!

Meditation of the week:

Main scripture: Ephesians 2; 1-10

Subject: The gospel of grace given to the Gentiles

      God had given the law to the Jews for 1,500 years so that they might understand themselves conceived in sin; that was the reason why God asked them to bring forth the sacrifices to redeem their sins through shedding blood of animals. Even though they pledged themselves to keep the law of God before Moses and God, they left God to worship the gods of the Gentiles not listen to the word of the prophets. Finally they were captured by Babylon to be slaves in the year of BC 594. they even rejected Jesus, the only begotten Son of God and the Creator and God in the beginning to crucify him. In AD70, Jerusalem happened to be totally destroyed by general Titus of Rome; and they are scattered to all nations leaving their home land.

     Foreknowing that the whole world was going to be under sin and death because of the Devil that brought forth sin, God had planned to destroy the work of the Devil (sin and death) by sending Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world. God proclaimed against the old serpent that is the Devil as if he had expected.  ^“And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. “(Gen. 3:14, 15`)

       God had chosen Apostle John and Paul to proclaim the gospel unto the world. Apostle Paul was called specially as an apostle to preach the gospel unto the Jew and the Gentiles. Apostle John proclaimed the gospel once again that was spoken by God in the Eden: ^“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”(1John 3:8)  Apostle Paul made the same testimony of the gospel as John:   ^“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;  And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. “(Heb. 2:14, 15)

Apostle Paul is testifying unto the saints of Ephesians church of the gospel made through the death of Christ and his resurrection saying, ‘But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were death in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved). And raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. For by grace are we saved; through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.”  In other word, any kind of the righteousness of man is never considered at all except the death of Christ along with his blood.

       Prophet Isaiah testified of the righteousness of man:

^“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”(Isa. 64:6)

Prophet Jeremiah also testified that the sins of man cannot be cleansed by any thing:

“Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil……   ⁹The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”(Jer. 13:23; 17:9,10)

       Apostle Paul received the message of the gospel of grace directly from the Lord Jesus Christ; and preached the gospel to the churches through his letters that have been written in the New Testament. He called the gospel of grace as the gospel of peace (Rom 10:15), the gospel of Christ (Rom. 1:16), even the gospel of him (Rom. 2:16).He dedicated his whole life to preach the gospel of grace that was made by the grace of redemption through the blood of Jesus Christ.

       Then, let us search the scriptures for the gospel of grace testified by Apostle Paul:

Apostle Paul testified of the righteousness of God in the gospel when he preached the gospel unto the people in Rome:   “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”(Rom. 1:16, 17)

         Apostle Paul testified of the purpose of God through the gospel:      “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.”(Rom. 8:29-34)

       Apostle Paul testified of the Spirit and power that save the sinners:   “And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”(1Cor. 2:1-5)

       Apostle Paul testified of the gospel that is to give the eternal life for them that believe very clearly and simply so that any ignorant man could be saved. The eunuch of Ethiopia believed in this gospel in all his heart, and baptized in the water, and received the Holy Ghost, and went on his way with joy (Acts 8:32-39)   “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:”(1Cor. 15:1-5)

       Apostle Paul warned to the saints of Corinthians church in sins to confirm their salvation ^“Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”(2Cor. 13:5)

        He also warned to the saints in Galations that was following the different gospel: ^“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”(Gal. 1:6-8)

       He explained unto them about the reason why he warned: “O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain. He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. “(Gal. 3:1-6)

       Apostle Paul testified clearly unto the saints of Ephesians that no one can take away the Holy Ghost that they already received, for they are owned by God:   ^“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”(Eph. 1:13, 15)

       Apostle Paul testified of the purpose of faith of the saints of Philippians:  ^“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:”(Phil. 3:7-9)

       Apostle Paul testified unto the saints of Colossians that all our sins are redeemed through the blood of Christ that gives us the peace with God: “ Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:….    ²⁰And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. “(Col. 1:13,14,20)

       Apostle Paul testified of the regeneration to be new creature unto Titus, his spiritual son:   ^“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;”(Tit. 3:5,6)

       Apostle Paul testified of the phenomenon when sins are forgiven through faith:^“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ….   ¹⁰By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”(Heb. 9:14; 10:10)

       But even Christians are vulnerable to sins living in the sinful world deceived by the devil from time to time: The Holy Gjost made Apostle John testify how to handle sins:  “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”(1John 1:8-10)

         Let us search the words of Jesus regarding our salvation:

   “Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God….Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”(John 3:3,5)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”(John 3;16)

   “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”(John 3:36)

     “Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”(John 6:54)

   “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? “(John 11:25, 26)

   “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.”(John 10:27-30)

        Yea! Nothing can be added to the grace through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, even any work or ritual things. If someone adds anything to the blood of Christ for salvation, it is the way to pay lots of price. We all sinned against the law of God. Therefore we have to trust only in the blood of Christ for our salvation. Our salvation is through the total grace of Christ; so we cannot lose our salvation by any works. But sinful life shall take away our inheritance reserved by the Lord Jesus for us. ^“For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”(Eph. 5:5, 6) Amen!
