금주의 묵상: 시편 8:1-9

본문: 마태복음 21:1-16 (막 11:1-10, 눅 19:29-38, 요 12:12-19)

제목: 자신을 “만왕의 왕 만주의 주”로 제시하시는 예수님

      때가 되어 예수님께서 자신을 왕으로 제시하시는 말씀은 사복음서 전체에 기록되어 있다. 그러면 주님께서 왜 이렇게 나귀를 타시고 예루살렘에 들어가셔서 성전 안에 들어가셔서 성전을 깨끗하게 하시며 눈먼 자들과 절름발이들을 고쳐주셨는지 우리는 성경을 통하여 그 뜻을 깨달아야 할 것이다.

      첫 사람이 범죄하였을 때, 하나님께서 뱀에게 선포하신 말씀 속에서 우리는 하나님께서 예수라는 이름으로 세상에 나타나신 이유를 먼저 알아야 할 것이다. 하나님께서는 뱀에게 “내가 너와 여자 사이에, 또 네 씨와 그녀의 씨 사이에 적의를 두리니, 그녀의 씨는 너의 머리를 부술 것이요, 너는 그의 발꿈치 부술 것이라.”(창 3:15)고 선포하셨다. 마귀가 하나님의 아내로서 여인인 이스라엘의 자손으로 태어나실 하나님의 독생자이신 예수 그리스도의 발꿈치를 십자가에 못박음으로써 부술 것이며, 그분께서는 마귀의 머리를 부수어 심판하실 것을 미리 말씀하신 것이다. 다시 말해서 예수 그리스도께서 세상에 나타나신 목적은 첫째로, 세상 죄를 위하여 죽으시려는 것이며, 둘째로는 마귀의 부활하심으로써 사망의 권세 잡은 자 마귀를 심판하시기 위함임을 말씀하신 것이다. 이에 대해 사도 바울과 사도 요한은 성령 안에서 확실하게 증거했다: “자녀들이 피와 살에 참여하는 자인 것같이 그 역시 같은 모양으로 동일한 것에 참여하신 것은 자신의 죽음을 통하여 죽음의 세력을 가진 자 마귀를 멸망시키며 또 죽음을 두려워하므로 평생을 노예로 속박되어 있는 자들을 놓아주시려 함이니라.”(히 2:14,15)

“이 목적으로 하나님의 아들이 나타나셨으니, 곧 마귀의 일들을 멸하시려는 것이라.”(요일 3:8)

       마귀(뱀)의 머리를 부수는 일에 대하여 하나님께서는 사도 요한을 성령 안에서 미리 보여주셨으며 그는 성령 안에서 증거했다: “또 내가 보니, 한 천사가 하늘에서 내려오는데, 그의 손에는 끝없이 깊은 구렁의 열쇠와 큰 사슬을 가졌더라. 그가 그 용을 잡으니, 곧 마귀요 사탄인 옛 뱀이라. 그를 천년 동안 묶어 두니 그를 끝없이 깊은 구렁에 가두고 그 위에 봉인하여 천 년이 찰 때까지는 민족들을 다시는 미혹하지 못하게 하더라. 그후에는 그가 반드시 잠시 동안 풀려나게 되리라….그들을 미혹하던 마귀가 불과 유황 못에 던져지니 그곳에는 그 짐승과 거짓 선지자도 있어 영원무궁토록 밤낮 고통을 받으리라.”(계 20:1-3, 10)

     예수님께서는 자신이 바로 에덴 동산에서 하나님께서 말씀하신 여인의 씨로 오신 것을 나타내시기 위하여 구약성경 전체를 통하여 자신에 대하여 예언된 말씀들을 이루시기 위하여 그의 공생애를 보내셨으니 이는 사람들로 하여금 자신이 죄와 사망을 멸하시고 모든 사람을 죄와 사망으로부터 구원하심을 믿고 자신을 믿어 영접함으로써 아무도 멸망치 않고 영원한 생명을 주시기 원하셨던 것이다 (요 3:16).

      오늘 본문을 통하여 예수님께서는 나귀를 타고 예루살렘에 입성하심을 보여주심으로써 자신이 선지자 스카랴가 예언한 메시야가 되심을 사람들에게 보여주신 것이다. 예수님께서는 친히 자신에 대한 선지자 스카랴의 예언을 인용하신 것이다: “너희는 시온의 땅에게 말하라. 보라, 너의 왕이 네게 오시나니, 그는 온유하여 나귀, 곧 나귀 새끼인 어린 수나귀 위에 타셨도다.”(마 21:5) 선지자 스카랴는 이렇게 예수님에 대하여 이렇게 예언했다: “오 시온의 딸아, 크게 기뻐하라. 오 예루살렘의 딸아, 소리지르라. 보라, 네 왕이 네게 오시나니 그는 공의로우시며 구원을 지니셨고, 겸손하시며 나귀를 타시리니 나귀의 새끼인 어린 나귀니라.”(슼 9:9)

      예수님께서는 이렇게 이 말씀뿐만 아니라 선지자들이 자신에 대해 예언한 말씀들을 이루시기 위하여 그의 전 공생애를 보내시면서 친히 모든 말씀들이 자신에게 이루어짐을 보여주셨지만 그들은 그분을 알아보지 못하고 그분을 십자가에 못을 박음으로써 창세기 3:15에서 하나님께서 친히 에언하신   “너는 그이 발꿈치를 부술 것이라.”는 말씀을 이루시게 한 것이다. 이에 대하여 선지자 호세야는 “내 백성이 지식의 부족으로 멸망하느니라. 네가 지식을 거부하였으므로 나도 또한 너를 거부하리니, 네가 나에게 제사장이 되지 못하리라.”(호 4:6) 고 예언했다.

그렇다! 하나님의 택한 민족인 이스라엘 백성들은 하나님의 말씀을 무시하면서 말씀을 증거하던 선지자들을 죽이고 말씀에 무식하게 되어 결국에는 마지막으로 선지자처럼 나타나신  그들의 하나님이시며 왕이신 예수 그리스도를 십자가에 못박음으로써 마귀의 종노릇을 하게게 된 것이다. 이러 인해 그들이 지금까지도 고난 속에 있는 것을 온 세상사람들이 수천년 동안 보고 있는 것이다.

      그러면 그리스도인들을 포함해서 21세기에 살고 있는 사람들은 어떠한가? 오늘 본문을 통해서 예수님께서는 앞으로 이제는 유대인의 왕이 아니며 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 이 땅에 다시 나타나시는 그의 재림의 장면을 보여주고 계신 것이다. 그분께서는 대 환난 끝에 다시 나타나실 것이다. 그때는 어린 나귀새끼가 아닌 하늘의 흰말을 타고 나타나실 것이다. 그때에는 그분의 신부들과 함꼐 나타나셔서 이 세상을 심판하실 것이다. 본문에서 주님을 찬양하는 사람들로 하여금 소리치지 못하게 해 달라고 부탁하는 바리새인들을 향하여 “이 사람들이 침묵을 지킨다면 돌들이 즉시 소리를 지르리라.”(눅 19:39,40)고 말씀하시면서 “그렇다! 어린 아기들과 젖먹이들의 입에서 나오는 찬양을 온전케 하셨나이다. 말씀을 읽어보지 못하였느냐?”(마 21:16)고 말씀하심으로써 자신이 입성하실 때 “다윗의 아들에게 호산나! 주의 이름으로 오시는 분은 복이 있도다. 지극히 높은 곳에서 호산나!”(마 21:9)라고 외치면서 그분을 뒤따르는 사람들에 대하여 말씀하셨다. 다윗은 지금 우리가 보고 있는 장면을 성령 안에서 미리 보면서 자신의 후손으로 오시는 메시야를 찬양하는 자들에 대하여 “주의 원수들로 인하여 아기들과 젖먹이들의 입에 힘을 두심은 원수와 복수자들을 잠잠케 하려 하심이니이다.”(시 8:2)라고 증거했던 것이다.

     사도 요한은 만왕의 왕, 만주의 주로 이 세상을 심판하시기 위하여 이 땅에 오셔서 예루살렘에 입성하시는 주님의 모습에 대하여 증거했다: “또 내가 하늘이 열린 것을 보니 흰말이 보이더라. 그 위에 앉으신 분은 신실과 진실이라 불리며 의로 심판하고 싸우시더라. 그의 눈은 불꽃같고 머리에는 많은 왕관이 있고 또 한 이름이 기록되어 있는데 그 자신 외에는 아무도 모르며 피에 적신 옷을 입었는데 그의 이름은 하나님의 말씀이라고 불리더라. 또 하늘에 있는 군대들은 희고 정결한 세마포를 입고 흰 말들을 타고 그를 따르더라. 그의 입에서는 예리한 칼이 나와서 그것으로 민족들을 칠 것이요 또 철장으로 그들을 다스릴 것이며, 그는 전능하신 하나님의 맹렬한 진노의 포도즙틀을 밟으실 것이라. 또 그의 옷과 넓적다리에 이름이 기록되어 있는데 ‘만왕의 왕, 또 만주의 주’라 하였더라.”(계 19:11-16)

       옛날 이스라엘 백성들이 지식이 없어 멸망당했던 것은 그들이 하나님의 말씀을 믿지 않으므로 듣지 않아 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫지 못했던 것이다. 오늘날은 어떠한가? 유대인이나 이방인이나 하나님의 교회에게나 누구라도 주 예수 그리스도의 재림에 대한 예언의 말씀을 듣고 믿어 돌이켜 회개하고 주 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 영접하면 하나님의 자녀가 되며 동시에 그리스도의 신부가 되어 그분과 함께 흰말들을 타고 이 땅에 내려오는 축복을 주시는 것이다. 그러나 옛날 유대인들은 선지자들이 예언할 때 그 말씀을 믿지 않고 비유라고 코웃음을 쳤던 것이다. 선지자 에스겔은 이에 대해 하나님께 호소했다: “아, 주 하나님이여! 그들이 나에 대하여 말하기를 ‘그는 비유를 말하지 아니하는가?’ 하나이다.”(겔 20:49)

오늘날 하나님의 교회들은 어떠한가? 선지서들을 포함하여 요한계시록의 말씀을 비유며 상징이라고 속임으로써 양떼들을 멸망길로 인도하고 있지 않은가? 역사는 되풀이 하는 것이다! 우리는 구약을 공부하면서 이스라엘 백성들의 행위와 그들에게 떨어진 심판을 통하여 사망에서 생명으로 옮겨지는 축복을 받는 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 8:1-9

Main subject: Matthew 21:1-16 (Mk 11:1-10, Luke 19:29-38, John 12:12-19)

Subject: King’s public offer of himself as the KING of KINGS, and the LORD of LORDS

        All four gospels record the word of Jesus Christ offering of himself as the KING in his time. It is necessary for us to understand the reason why Jesus set on the ass, and enter into Jerusalem, and cleaned the temple, and healed the blind and the lame through the scriptures.

       It is possible for us to understand the reason why God manifested in flesh in the name of Jesus through hearing the word of God unto the serpent, when the first man sinned. The LORD God declared unto the serpent saying, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”(Gen. 3:15)

It was God’s prophesy: The devil shall bruise the feet of Jesus Christ on the cross that is to born as the seed of Israel that is the woman, as the wife of God; and he shall bruise the head of the devil to judge him. In other word, Jesus Christ appeared in the world to die for the sin of the world first and secondly to judge the devil that has the power of death through his resurrection. Of this regard, Apostle Paul and John testified very clearly in the Spirit:

   ^“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”(Heb. 2:14, 15)

“…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”(1John 3:8)

       Of what he bruise the head of the devil (the serpent), God showed to Apostle John in the Spirit, and he testified saying, “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. ….   ¹⁰And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever”(Rev. 20:1-3, 10)

         Jesus spent his whole public ministry to testify all the words of God of him prophesied in the Old Testament to show himself as the seed of woman that was mentioned by God in the Mount Eden so that all men may believe in him that destroyed sin and death to deliver them from sin and death; and receive him by faith; he wanted them to have eternal life not to perish. (John 3; 16)

       In the main passage, Jesus shows himself as the Messiah that was prophesized by Zechariah when he set on the ass, and entered into Jerusalem.  Jesus himself quoted   Zechariah’s prophesy:

^“Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.”(Matt. 21:5) Prophet Zechariah prophesized of Jesus saying, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.”(Zech. 9:9)

      Even though Jesus spent his whole life to prove the words of prophets of him including Zechariah’s, they didn’t recognized him, and gave him to be crucified as prophesized by God himself saying, “Thou shalt bruise his heel.” Of this, Prophet Hosea prophesized saying,   ^“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me…” (Hos. 4:6)

Yea! The people of Israel chosen by God ignored the words of God, and killed the prophets to be lack of knowledge. Finally they crucified Jesus Christ, their King that came to them as the last prophet, and they stood at the side of the devil. This is the reason why all nations of people have seen them in troubles because of their sin.

       Then, what about the people living in the 21^st century including Christians? In the main passage, Jesus Christ was showing the scene of His Second Coming not as the king of the Jews, but as the KING of KINGS, and the LORD of the LORDS. He shall appear at the end of the Great Tribulation sitting upon the white horse not on the ass anymore. He shall appear with his bride to judge the world. In the main passage, Jesus spoke unto the Pharisees asking him to rebuke his disciples, “……..if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”(Luke 19:39, 40)

   ^“And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?”(Matt. 21:16)

And Jesus talked about of them that followed him when he enter into Jerusalem shouting, ^“Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.”(Ps. 8:2)

       Apostle John testified of Jesus Christ coming to the earth to judge the world as the KING of KINGS, and the LORD of LORDS:  ^“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”(Rev. 19:11-16)

        The people of Israel were destroyed being lack of knowledge, because they didn’t believe the word of God so that they never listened to his words so that they couldn’t understand the will of God. What about these days?  Whosoever whether they are the Jew or the Gentiles or the church of God hear the word of the prophesy of His Second Coming, and believe, and repent to receive his by faith, they shall be the children of God as well as the brides of Christ, and even shall be blessed to come with him sitting on white hoses to the earth. But the old timers of Jews never believed in the words of the prophets rather they made fun of them. Prophet Ezekiel cried out unto the LORD God saying, “Ah Lord GOD! they say of me, Doth he not speak parables?”(Ez. 20:49)

What about the modern churches of God? Most of them are misleading their sheep to destruction saying, the book of Revelation including the Prophets are not real but parables saying as Allegory. History has been repeating. We are blessed through searching the Old Testament to be delivered from death unto life knowing the judgment upon the people of Israel because of their disobedience. Amen! Hallelujah!
