금주의 묵상: 시편 90:1-17

본문: 전도서 6:11-7:6

제목: 지혜로운 자와 어리석은 자의 다른 생각

       본문을 통하여  하나님의 지혜를 받은 솔로몬이 전도자가 되어 설교한 말씀을 우리는 듣고 있는 것이다. 하나님 자신이 그를 일컬어 이 세상에서 전무후무한 명철한 자라고 말씀 하셨으니 그의 설교 안에 있는 모든 말들이 하나님께서 주신 지혜임을 깨닫고 그 지혜의 말씀대로 행할 때 지혜로운 사람을 살게 될 것이다. 선지자 이사야는 예수 그리스도께서 다윗의 뿌리로부터 한 가지처럼 나타나실 때 주의 영이 그에게 머물 것이라고 예언하면서, 하나님의 영은 지혜와 명철의 영이요, 계획과 능력의 영이며, 지식과 주를 두려워하는 영이라고 증거했다(사 11;1-2). 다시 말해서 하나님의 영을 받은 사람은 지혜와 명철을 받아 지혜자인 솔로몬의 말씀을 깨닫게 된다는 말씀인 것이다.

       사도 야고보는 누구든지 지혜가 부족하면, 모든 사람에게 아낌없이 주시고 꾸짖지 아니하시는 하나님께 구하라고 권면하면서 하나님께서는 구하는 자에게 주실 것이라고 증거하면서, 오직 믿음으로 구하고 아무 것도 의심하지 말라고 말씀했다(약 1:5,6).

       어떻게 솔로몬이 하나님의 지혜를 받았는가? 그는 어린아이였기에 아무 의심없이 하나님께 지혜를 구하여 받은 것이다. 오늘 우리는 그가 받은 지혜의 일부분을 듣고 있는 것이다:  "사람이 더 나은 것이 무엇이냐?"

 "그림자처럼 허비한 헛된 인생의 모든 날인 이생에서 인간에게 무엇이 좋은지 누가 알겟는가?"

"해 아래에서 사람의 뒤에 무슨 일이 있을지 누가 그에게 말해 줄 수 있겠는가?"

 "좋은 이름이 값진 향유보다 낫고"

"죽는 날이 출생하는 날보다 낫도다."

"초상집에 가는 것이 잔칫집에 가는 것보다 나으니, 그것이 모든 사람의 마지막이며 살아있는 사람이 그것을 자기 마음에 유념해야 할 것이다." "슬픔이 웃음보다 나은 것은 슬픈 안색으로 인하여 마음이 더 나아짐이라."

 "현명한 자의 마음은 초상집에 있으나 어리석은 자의 마음은 환락의 집에 있느니라."

"현명한 자의 책망을 듣는 것이 어리석은 자들의 노래를 듣는 것보다 사람에게 더 나으니라." "어리석은 자의 웃음은  솥 밑에 가시나무 타는 소리 같으니 이것도 헛되도다."

       그렇다! 오늘날에도 죄인임을 깨닫고, 다시 말해서 자신의 마음 안에 지혜와 명철이 없고 선지자 예레미야의 예언처럼 자신의 마음이 만물보다 거짓되고 심히 악한 것(렘 17:9)을 깨닫고 자신의 마음을 정결케 하기 위하여 자신의 피를 쏟으시고 갈보리 십자가에서 죽으신 주 예수 그리스도께로 나아오는 자들에게 하나님께서 성령을 주셔서 하나님의 지혜를 주시는 것이다. 그러므로 이 하나님의 지혜를 받는 자마다 솔로몬처럼 전도자가 되는 것이다. 다시 말해서 성령을 받은자들은 죽은 영이 성령을 통하여 다시 살아남으로써 정결한 마음 안에 지혜와 명철을 받아 지혜의 말씀을 전파하게 되는 것이다. 그러므로 우리도 솔로몬처럼 세상을 향하여 본문에 있는 말씀을 외칠 수 있고, 선지자 이사야처럼  "모든 육체는 풀이요, 모든 아름다움은  들의 꽃과 같으니라. 풀은 마르고 꽃은 시드나 우리 하나님의 말씀은 영원히 서리라."(사 40:6-8)고 외칠 수 있으며, 침레인 요한처럼 "너희는 회개하라, 천국이 가까이 왔느니라."(마 3:2) 또한 베드로처럼 "모든 육체는 풀과 같고 사람의 모든 영광은 풀의 꽃과 같으며, 풀은 마르고 꽃은 져도 주의 말씀은 영원토록 남아 있음이라."(벧전 1:24)고 설교하면서 복음을 전할 수 있는 것이다.

        하나님의 지혜를 받은 모세도 "우리의 연수가 칠십이요, 강건하면 팔십이어도 그 연수의 힘은 수고와 슬픔이니, 그것이 곧 끊어지면  우리가 멀리 날아가나이다."(시 90:10)라고 고백했다.  이 고백은 솔로몬이 "죽는 날이 출생하는 날보다 낫도다."라는 말과 같은 지혜의 말인 것이다. 다시 말해서 누구든지 이 세상에 태어나는 사람은 수고와 슬픔이 있는 세상 속으로 던져진다는 말이 아니겠는가? 그러나 솔로몬은,"해 아래에서 사람의 뒤, 즉 죽은 후에 무슨 일이 있을지에 대하여는 아무도 말해 줄 수 없다고 말하면서 하나님만이 알 수 있음을 시사했던 것이다.

       그렇다면, 죽은 후에 무슨 일이 있을지에 대하여 성경은 어떻게 말씀하시는가? 솔로몬이 살았던 율법 시대에서 이스라엘 백성들은 죽음 후에 열조에게로 돌아갔다. 열조가 누구인가? 그들의 조상은 아브라함이었다. 그러므로 율법 안에서 짐승들의 피로 죄들을 사함받았던 이스라엘 백성들은 죽은 후에 아브라함의 품으로 갔던 것이다. 이에 대하여 예수님께서도 말씀하셨다. 부자와 가지 나사로에 관해 말씀하실 때에 " 그 거지가 죽었는데 천사들이 그를 아브라함의 품으로 옮겼고…"(눅 16:22)라고 말씀하심으로써 열조에게 돌아가는 것이 바로 아브라함의 품이라고 말씀하셨으며, 한편 부자는 죽어서 지옥에서 고통받는 중에 눈을 들어 아브라함과 그의 품에 있는 나사로를 보았다. 그러므로 그 당시에 사람의 뒤에 있는 것이 아브라함의 품과 지옥 둘 중에 하나임을 주님께서 친히 말씀하신 것이다. 또한 이 두 장소들이 모두 땅 속에 있다고 주님께서 말씀하신 것이다. 그러나 아브라함의 품에 있었던 구약성도들은 주님께서 부활하셨을 때에  예수께서 흘리신 피를 힘입어 무덤에서 나와 거룩한 도성으로 들어가 많은 사람에게 나타났다고 마태는 증거하고 있다. 그러므로 땅 속에 있던 아브라함의 품은 그때부터 비어있으며 지옥은 여전히 땅 속에 있음을 알 수 있는 것이다.

           그러면, 주 예수 그리스도께서 피를 흘리신 후에 태어난 사람들의 뒤, 즉 죽음 후에는 어떻게 되는 가? 주 예수 그리스도의 피로 맺은 새언약 아래에서 그분을 믿고 성령을 받은 사람들은 죽은 후에 즉시 하늘에 있는 낙원으로 옮겨지지만, 그분의 피를 빋지 않고 연락하면서 헛된 인생을 보낸 부자처럼 산 사람은 여전히 그 부자가 있는 지옥으로 갈 수밖에 없는 것이다. 하늘에 있는 낙원은 의인들만이 갈 수 있는 곳이기 때문이다. 비록 거지처럼 살았을지라도 주 예수의 피로 정결케 된사람은 천국으로, 부자처럼 살았을지라도 주 예수의 피로 씻김받지 못한  사람은 천국에 갈 수 없기에 땅 속에 있는 지옥으로 갈 수밖에 없는 것이다.

       그러므로, 죽는 날이 출생하는 날보다 낫고, 초상집에 가는 것이 잔칫집에 가는 것보다 나으며, 지금 슬퍼하는 것이 구원받을 수 있는 지혜를 받는 길이며,   지금 전도자의 책망을 받고 돌이켜 회개하고 구원받는 것이 나으며, 지금 웃으면 불못에서 자신의 타는 소리를 듣게 될 것이라는 솔로몬의 전도 메세지가 진리임을 알 수 있는 것이다. 그러므로 옛 성도들은 더 좋은 부활을 얻기 위하여 고문을 당하면서도 굳이 면하려 하지 않았는 바 (히 11:35), 이는 첫 번째 부활에 참여함으로써 하나님과 그리스도의 제사장들이 되어 천 년 동안 그와 함께 통치하는 영광을 구하고 죽어갔던 것이다 (계 20:6). 그들에게는 죽는 날이 출생한 날보다 더 축복이 되었던 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 90:1-17

Main scripture: Ecclesiastes 6:11-7:6

Subject: Different thoughts between the wise and the simple

       We are hearing the message of the preacher, Solomon who received the wisdom of God in the main passage. God himself called him as the man of understanding; and no one is like him in the past and in the future either. We shall live in wisdom when we understand the wisdom of God that is in his word, and we walk according to his wisdom. Prophet Isaiah prophesied that the Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Jesus Christ when he shall appear as a Branch from the roots of David; and the Sprit of the LORD shall be as the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD (Isa. 11:1-2)

In other word, whosoever receives the Spirit of God shall receive wisdom and understanding so that they may understand the word of Solomon that is the man of wisdom.

       Apostle James testified, "If any of you lack of wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given to him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed."(James 1:5,6)

       How Solomon received the wisdom of God? He asked the wisdom as a child without any doubt. Now we are hearing some of his wisdom in the main passage:

"What is the man the better?"

"Who knwoeth what is good for man in this life, all the day of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man who shall be after him under the sun?"

"A good name is better than precious ointment"

"The day of death is better than the day of  one's birth."

"It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting; for that is the end of all men and the living will lay it to his heart."

"Sorrow is better than laughter; for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better."

"The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools  is in the house of mirth."

"It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools."

"For as the cracking of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool; this is also vanity."

       Yea! God is willing to give the wisdom in  the Spirit of the Lord unto whomsoever come forward to the Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross  shed all the blood, when they understand themselves sinners knowing their heart deceitful above all things as the prophet Jeremiah testified (Jer. 17:9); and also knowing no wisdom and understanding within their heart. Therefore whosoever receives the wisdom of God is to become the preacher as Solomon. In other word, whosoever receives the Spirit of the Lord is to revive the spirit through the Holy Ghost ; and they receive wisdom and understanding in the purified heart so that they may preach the word of wisdom of God as Solomon.  Therefore we also can preach the word in the main passage; as Isaiah, "All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:  ^"The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever."(Isa. 40:6-8); and as John the Baptist, "Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."(Matt. 3:20); and we an also preach the gospel as Apostle Peter, " For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:"(1Pet. 1:24)

        Moses the man of wisdom of God also confessed saying, " The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away."(Ps 90:10) This confession of Moses is same as the word of wisdom said by Solomon, "The day of death is better than the day of one's birth." In other word, whosoever is born in the world is to be cast into labour and sorrow. Solomon said, "Who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun." He meant that only God know it.

        Then, how the scriptures say about what is going to happen after death? In the days of the law of God, when Solomon lived, the people of Israel under the law went down to their fathers to sleep with them. Who are their fathers? The first father was Abraham. The people of Israel whose sins were forgiven through the blood of animals went to the bosom of Abraham after death. Jesus testified of them, when he talked about a rich man and Lazarus: "….the bagger died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom…."(Luke 16:22) Jesus meant that Abraham's bosom is the place where their fathers are resting. On the other hand, the rich man went to the hell, and he lifted his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham and Lazarus in his bosom. Therefore, at that time, there were two kind of place where men had to go after death was Abraham's bosom or hell; and these two places are under the earth. But the saints of the Old Testament in the Abraham's bosom came out of the graves after Jesus resurrected through the power of the blood of Jesus, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Matthew testified of them (Matt. 27:51-54). Since then, Abraham's bosom called paradise had been empty, but the hell still have been there.

       Then, what is going to happen after death for them that die after  the Lord Jesus Christ shed blood on the cross" Under the new covenant made by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ,  born again Christians shall be in the paradise in heaven right after death, but someone that lived as the rich man that spend life in vain has to go to the hell where the rich man is. The paradise in heaven is the place where only the righteous could be allowed to come. Even though someone lived as a bagger as Lazarus is to go heaven, if he is purified through the blood of Jesus Christ; no one can go to heaven, even though he lived as a rich man, unless he is purified through the blood of Jesus Christ, but he is to be sent to the hell under the earth.

       Therefore,  the day of death is better than the day of birth; and it is better to go to the house of morning, than go to the house of feasting; sorrow is the way to receive the wisdom of salvation; it is better to be rebuked by the preacher, and to repent unto salvation; if laugh now, shall hear the cracking of thorns under the pot in the lake of fire. The message of preaching of Solomon shall be understood as the truth, if we listen to him. Therefore, old saints were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection (Heb. 11:35). They seek the first resurrection to be the priests of Christ to be the partakes of the glory reigning with him in the millennium of Christ (Rev. 20:6) For them, the day of death was much far  better than the day of birth. Amen! hallelujah!
