금주의 묵상: 시편 126:1-6

본문: 갈라디아서 6:1-18

제목: 썩을 것만을 추수했는가?  아니면, 영생을 추수했는가?

        매년 이 때가 되면 죄없는 칠면조들이 한꺼 번에 떼 죽음을 당하면서 미국에 살고 있는 모든 족속들이 함께 추수감사 식사를 위해 온 가족이 모이며 하나님의 교회들도 추수감사 예배를 드린다. 하나님께서는 믿음의 자유를 얻기 위하여 신 대륙에 상륙한 청교도들에게 모진 고난 가운데 첫 추수를 하게 하셔서 하나님께 감사하는 예배를 드리게 된 이후에 이날을 기억하기 위하여 하나님께 감사하는 마음으로 추수감사절을 지금까지 지키게 된 것이다.

       그렇다! 이 땅에 살면서 육신이 필요한 양식을 추수하는 일이야말로 없어서는 안되는 일이다. 또한 하나님께서 때에 따른 비와 기후를 허락하시지 않으면 어느누구도 씨를 심어 곡식을 거둘 수 없는 것이다. 옛날 유대인들이 하나님을 믿지 않고 우상을 섬기고 있을 때에 하나님께서는 그들에게 비를 내려주시지 않음으로 인해 기근을 보내셨다.. 그래도 그들이 회개하지 않았을 때 전염병과 이방인들의 칼(전쟁)로 그들을 징치하셨다. 선지자 에스겔은 범죄한 이스라엘 백성들에게 하나님의 심판의 메세지를 전했다: "내가 너희에게 기근을 늘려서 너희의 식량봉을 꺾으리라. 그리하여 내가 너희에게 기근과 악한 짐승들을 보내리니 그리하면 그것들이 너를 앗아갈 것이요, 전염병과 피가 너희를 지나가리니 내가 칼을 너희 위에 가져오리라. 나 주가 그것을 말하였느니라."(겔 5:17)

      성령께서는 사도 바울을 통하여 갈라디아 교회 성도들에게 이 땅에서 해야할 추수에 대하여 말씀하신다. 그리스도인들 역시 육신의 추수를 해야만 생활할 수 있다. 그러나 육신의 추수만으로 끝난다면 그 추수는 썩을 것으로 끝날 것이며 세상을 떠날 때 아무 것도 거둘 수 없는 것을 말씀하고 있는 것이다. 사도 요한도 세상 사람들이 추구하는 삶은 오로지 육신의 정욕과 안목의 정욕과 생의 자랑이며 이것만을 위하여 살다가 세상과 정욕이 사라질 때 모든 것을 잃어버릴 것이라고 성도들에게 경고하고 있는 것이다 (요일 2:15-17).

       그렇다! 오늘 본문에서 성령께서는 우리들에게 아주 중요한 메세지를 주시고 있다. 자신의 육신에 심는 자는 육신으로부터 썩어질 것을 거두고 성령에 심는 자는 성령으로부터 영생을 거두리라(갈 6:8)고 말씀하고 있다. 다시 말해서 육신의 일만 추구하여 썩을 양식만을 구하면서 살다가 생을 마친다면 평생 동안 썩어질 것만 추수하다가 허무한 인생을 보낼 것이라는 경고의 말씀을 하고 있는 것이다. 그러나 그리스도인들 역시 열심히 일해서 썩을 양식을 추수하지만 이것으로 끝나지 말고 썩을 양식을 먹고 힘을 얻어 썩지 않는 씨를 뿌리는 일을 해야 함을 말하고 있는 것이다.

      하나님의 자녀들은 썩는 씨들을 땅에 뿌려서 양식을 추수하며, 물질과 시간과 몸을 투자하여 거두어들인 것을 먹고 마시면서 썩지 않는 씨를 뿌리는 일을 하여야 한다는 것이다. 썩지 않는 씨가 무엇인가? 이에 대하여 사도 베드로는 "너희가 거듭난 것은 썩어질 씨로 된 것이 아니라 썩지 아니할 씨로 된 것이니 살아 있고 영원히 거하는 하나님의 말씀으로 되었느니라. 이는 모든 육체는 풀과 같고 사람의 모든 영광을 풀의 꽃과 같으며, 풀은 마르고 꽃은 져도 주의 말씀은 영원토록 남아 있음이라. 이것이 너희에게 복음으로 전해진 말씀이니라."(벧전 1:23-25)

      다시 말해서 썩는 씨는 땅에 뿌리지만, 썩지 않는 씨는 사람의 마음에 뿌리는 것이다. 그런데 풀과 같이 연약하고 죽어야 하는 사람의 마음에 썩지 않는 씨를 뿌리면 그 씨를 받아들일 때에 성령께서 역사하셔서 그 썩지 않는 씨로부터 영생을 거두게 된다는 말씀인 것이다. 그런데 그 썩지 않는 씨의 이름이 볍씨도 아니고 밀알도 아니며 콩알도 이니고 채소씨도 아닌 복음의 씨라는 것이다. 다시 말해서 사도 바울이 전한 복음인 썩지 않고 영생을 거두는 씨에 대하여 증거했다: "성경대로 그리스도께서 우리의 죄들로 인하여 죽으시고 장사되셨다가 성경대로 셋째 날에 다시 살아나셔서 게바에게 보이시고 그후에 열두 사도에게 보이신 것이라."(고전 15:3-5)

      사도 바울은 다른 사도들처럼 그가 영생을 추수한 후에 평생을 썩지 않는 씨를 성령에 심어서 성령으로부터 영생을 거두는 추수를 했으며 지금도 그가 전하는 말씀을 통하여 여전히 그는 하늘에 있으면서도 우리들을 포함하여 수많은 영생의 열매를 거두고 있는 것이다. 그의 고백 속에서 우리는 이 사실을 확인할 수 있다: "형제들아 내가 너희에게 와서 하나님의 증거를 전할 때에 말과 지혜의 탁월함으로 하지 아니하였노라. 니는 내가 예수 그리스도와 그의 십자가에 못박히심 외에는 너희 가운데서 아무 것도 알지 아니하기로 작정하였음이라…..또 내 말과 내 설교를 설득력 있는 인간의 지혜의 말로 하지 않고 성령과 능력을 나타냄으로 하였으니 이는 너희의 믿음이 인간의 지혜에 있게 하지 아니하고 하나님의 능력에 있게 하려 함이라."(고전 2:1,2,4,5)

       농부들이 씨를 뿌릴 때에 많은 씨들을 흩어서 충만하게 땅에 뿌리는 것을 본다. 왜 그런가? 어떤 씨는 싹이 나고 어떤 씨는 싹이 나지 않기 때문이 아닌가? 이와 마찬가지로 썩지 않는 복음의 씨를 사람의 마음에 뿌릴 때에도 때를 얻든지 못 얻든지 만나는 사람들에게 복음을 전하여 썩지 않는 복음의 씨가 사람들의 귀를 통하여 마음에 뿌리면 되는 것이다.  그 씨를 받아들이는 사람 속에서 성령의 역사를 통하여 영생을 받을 것이지만 받아들이지 않는 마음 속으로부터는 영생의 열매를 거둘 수 없는 것이다. 그저 우리는 씨만 뿌리면 되는 것이다. 이 영생을 주는 복음의 씨는 우리가 원하기만 하면 우리의 입을 통하여 얼마든지 사람들의 마음 밭에 뿌릴 수 있는 것이다. 사도 바울은 이에 대하여 증거했다: "그러나 그것이 무엇을 말하느냐? '말씀이 네게 가까워 네 입에 있으며 네 마음에 있노라..' 하였으니 곧 우리가 전파하는 믿음의 말씀이라. 네가 네 입으로 주 예수를 시인하고 또 하나님께서 그를 죽은 자들로부터 살리신 것을 네 마음에 믿으면 구원을 받으리라. 이는 사람이 마음으로 믿어 의에 이르고 입으로 시인하여 구원에 이르기 때문이라."(롬 10:8-10)

        예수 그리스도께서 영생의 열매를 거두는 일에 대하여 친히 말씀하셨다: "나의 음식은 나를 보내신 분의 뜻을 행하고 그분의 일을 완성하는 것이라. 너희가 아직도 넉 달이 되어야 추수할 때가 된다고 말하지 아니하느냐? 보라, 내가 너희에게 말하노니 눈을 들어 밭을 보라. 이는 곡식이 추수하도록 이미 하얗게 되었음이라. 또 거두는 사람은 삯을 받고 영원한 생명에 이르는 열매를 모으느니라. 이는 뿌리는 사람과 거두는 사람이 다 함께 즐거워하려 함이라. 이렇듯 한 사람은 심고 한 사람은 거둔다는 그 말이 옳도다. 나는 너희가 일하지 않은 것을 거두게 하려고 너희를 보내었노라. 일은 다른 사람들이 하였고 너희는 그들의 수고에 참여하였느니라."(요 4:34-38)

        지난 일 년 동안 어떤 추수를 했는가? 하나님께서 가장 기뻐하시는 제물이 무엇이인가에 대해 사도 바울이 증거했다 : "이는 나로 이방인들을 위한 예수 그리스도의 일꾼이 되게 하시어 이방인들을 제물로 드리는 일이 성령으로 거룩하게 되어 받으실 수 있도록 하심이라. 그러므로 내가 예수 그리스도를 통하여 하나님께 속한 일에 자랑하려는 것이 있느니라."(롬 15:16,17)) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 126:1-6

Main scripture: Galatians 6:1-18

Subject: Have you reaped corruptible only? Or  life everlasting?

       In this season every year, millions of turkeys are killed for the families of America for Thanksgiving dinner. Almost of the churches of God also gather together to give thanks to God for Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving Day has been kept since the Protestant escaped from Britain to have religious freedom, and landed on the new continent called America; and they reaped the first crops in the midst of suffering. They gave thanks to the Lord for their harvest.

     Yea! It is necessary for us to reap the food for our body. But unless God gives timely rain as well as proper weather, no one can sew the seeds to reap. God had sent famine unto the people of Israel, when they worshipped idols continuously. When they not repented, God disciplined them sending diseases and the sword of the Gentiles. Prophet Ezekiel preached the message of God unto them: "So will I send upon you famine and evil beasts, and they shall bereave thee; and pestilence and blood shall pass through thee; and I will bring the sword upon thee. I the Lord have spoken it."(Ez 5:17)

       The Holy Ghost is speaking unto the Galatians of what they are supposed to harvest in the earth. Even Christians also have to harvest food to survive. But if their harvest is only for corruptible food, it shall be ended for nothings so that they cannot bring forth to heaven at all. Apostle John warned to Christians of things pursued by the people in the world as the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life; and all theses things shall pass away with the world (1John 2:15-17)

       Yea! In the main passage, the Holy Ghost gives us an very important message saying, "for he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption: but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."(Gal. 6:8) In other word, the life pursuing the things of the flesh to reap corruption shall be ended up with nothing. But Christians have to sow not only corruptible seeds for nutrition of body but also the incorruptible seeds  unto life everlasting.

         The children of God also reap corruptible sowing corruptible seeds for food; and they have to sow the seeds of incorruption investing corruption such as money as well corruptible body. Then, what is the seed of incorruption? Apostle Peter testified of it: "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you."(1Pet. 1:22-25)

        In other word, the corruptible seed is to be sown into the ground; incorruptible seed should be sown into the heart of man. Sowing the seed of incorruption into the body of man that is weak and mortal, the Spirit of God works in them that receive by faith to reap life everlasting.  The name of seed is neither the seed of rice nor seed of bean and wheat and vegetable , but the seed of gospel of Christ. Apostle Paul testified of the seed of incorruption reaping life everlasting that is called the gospel of Christ: "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:"(1Cor. 15:3-5)

       Apostle Paul as other apostles spent all his life for sowing the seed of incorruption in the Spirit to reap life everlasting . He is still reaping life everlasting including us through his words of gospel even though he is now in heaven. Let us hear his confession related to the gospel of Christ:

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

……And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God."(1Cor. 15:1,2,4,5)

       We know that farmers scatter seed to sow enough to cover the whole land. Why? They know that some of them shall sprout out, some not. This is the reason why we have to sow the seed of gospel into the heart of men in season or not in season also so that the seed of gospel may be sown into their heart through their ears. Then someone shall receive life everlasting by faith through the power of the Spirit, but someone not. We only have to sow the seed of gospel unto life everlasting. If we want to sow the seed of gospel, we can continue to do it unlimitedly using our mouth. Apostle Paul testified of this:  "But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."(Rom. 10:8-10)

       Jesus Christ testified of reaping life eternal: "My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours."(John 4:34-38)

       What kind of harvest have done this year? Apostle Paul testified of the offering that please God:

"That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost. I have therefore whereof I may glory through Jesus Christ in those things which pertain to God."(Rom. 15:16,17) Amen ! Hallelujah!
