금주의 묵상: 시편 90:1-17

본문: 시편 39:1-13

제목: 하나님의 종들 안에 계셨던  그리스도의 진리의 영

        시편의 말씀 가운데는 다윗이나 모세 그리고 아삽이나 고라의 자손들의 기도가 들어있다. 시편을 포함하여 하나님의 모든 말씀들 안에는 하나님의 호흡이신 성령의 영감으로 기름부어져 있다. 이 놀라운 사실을 묵상하면서 말씀을 읽으면 동일한 성령의 기름부으심을 통하여 하나님께서 우리들에게도 동일한 영감을 통하여 말씀하시는 진리를 깨달을 수 있는 것이다.

       본문 말씀 가운데 있는 다윗의 시 가운데서 우리는 그의 입술의 고백이 인간의 육신적인 어떤 생각에서 나온 것이 아님을 알 수 있다: "주여, 나의 종말과 내 날들의 분량이 어떠한지 나로 알게 하시어 내가 얼마나 연약한지 알게 하소서. 보소서, 주께서 내 날들을 손 너비만큼 주셨으므로 내 연수가 주 앞에서는 없는 것 같사오니 진실로 가장 좋은 상태에 있는 모든 사람도 다 헛될뿐이니이다. 셀라. 진실로 사람마다 헛된 그림자같이 걸어다니며 진실로 그들이 헛되이 분주하나 재물을 쌓으나 누가 그것을 가질지 알지 못하나이다. 주여, 이제 내가 무엇을 기다리겠나이까? 나의 소망은 주께 있나이다. 나의 모든 죄과에서 나를 구하소서 나로 어리석은 자의 질책이 되지 않게 하소서. 내가 벙어리가 되어 입을 열지 아니하였으니 이는 주께서 그것을 행하셨기 때문이니이다. 주의 징책을 내게서 옮기소서. 주의 손이 치시므로 내가 쇠잔하였나이다. 주께서 죄악을 책망하심으로 사람을 바로 잡으실 때 그의 아름다움이 좀과 같이 소멸케 하시나니 진실로 모든 사람이 헛되나이다. 셀라."(4-11절)

       그렇다! 하나님께서는 이 세상에 살고 있는 사람들에게 자신들이 어떤 존재이고 얼마나 비참한 존재인지에 대하여 깨달을 수 있는 기회를 주신다. 그러나 자신들이 어떤 극심한 연약함이나 고통을 당하지 않았을 때에도 진리의 영이신 성령님의 영감을 받아 말한 옛 사람들의 고백을 통하여 그들의 체험이 자신의 경험이 되어 일찍 깨닫는 축복을 받을 수 있도록 하신다. 하나님께서는 그분의 진리의 영을 통하여 많은 옛 사람들로 하여금 이 세상 삶에 대한 실상을 깨닫고 진리의 하나님께 소망을 두게 되는 축복으로 인도하시는 것이다.

      다윗 왕은 성령 하나님 안에서 거하면서 이 세상 사람들이 사는 모습을 바라다 보면서 그들이 평생 동안 재물을 모으기 위하여 이리 저리 뛰는 모습을 보면서 하나님의 진리의 말씀을  자신의 입으로 말한 것이다. 또한 이 세상을 보면서 이 세상에는 소망을 둘만한 그 어떤 것도 없음을 깨닫게 된 것이다. 또한 자신이 아무리 이스라엘 왕이라는 영광스러운 최상의 자리에 있었지만 가장 좋은 상태에 있는 모든 사람도 다 헛될 뿐임을 뼈저리게 체험하면서 성령께서 말하게 하심을 따라 오늘날 마지막 때에 분주하게 살고 있는 모든 사람들에게 말하고 있는 것이다.

       세상 사람들 모두가 이구동성으로 "인생은 짧다."고 말한다. 그러나 그들이 그렇게 말하고는 있지만 그들의 인생이 짧지 않은 것처럼 살면서 열심히 계획하고 분주하게 살고 있는 것이다. 실로 그들은 인생이 짧은 것을 깨닫지 못하고 있는 것이다. 오직 이 사실을 깨닫는 길은 하나님의 영감으로 된 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 묵상하지 않고서는 사실상 불가능한 것이다. 사람들은 이 짧은 인생살이 동안 재물을 아무리 많이 모아도 하나도 가지고 떠날 수 없는 것을 안다고 하지만  실상은 그렇게 살지 않으면서 여전히 더 많은 시간을 분주하게 살면서 누가 가질지 모르는 것들을 따라 다니다가 그들에게 소망을 주던 재물을 하나도 취하지 못하고 안개처럼 사라지는 것이다.

      다윗 왕은 성령의 영감 안에서 손너비만큼 짧은 삶을 마치고 육신을 떠날 때 자신이 영원히 안식할 수 있는 소망이 오직 하나님 한분 뿐이심을 깨달았던 것이다. 그가 이 사실을 깨달았을 때에 자신의 죄과들로부터 구원을 받지 않고서는 소망 없는 삶을 마칠 수밖에 없는 사실을 알게 되었던 것이다. 그가 기다릴 수 있는 것은 어떤 사람도, 어떤 명예도, 재물도 아니며 오직 주 하나님 한 분밖에 없음을 깨닫고 "주여, 이제 내가 무엇을 기다리겠나이까? 나의 소망은 주께 있나이다."라고 기도했던 것이다.

        성전에서 노래하던 레위족인 아삼은 어떠 했는가? 그는 세상사람들이 잘되는 것들을 보면서 그의 마음이 혼란스러웠지만, 그가 하나님의 성소에 들어갔을 때 성령 안에서 세상 사람들의 종말을 보면서 "내가 하나님의 성소에 들어가서야 그들의 종말을 깨달았나이다. 확실히 주께서는 그들을 미끄러운 곳에 두셨으며 주께서 그들을 파멸에 던지셨나이다. 어찌 그들이 순식간에 황폐하게 되었나이까? 그들이 공포로 완전히 멸절되었나이다. 사람이 깨어났을 때의 꿈과 같이 오 주여, 주께서 깨시면 그들의 형상을 멸시하시리이다. 이렇게 내 마음이 슬프고 내 속 마음이 찔렸나이다. 내가 이처럼 어리석고 무지하였으니 주 앞에 한 짐승과 같았나이다. 그럼에도 내가 항상 주와 함께하오니 주께서 내 오른손을 붙잡아 주셨나이다. 주께서는 주의 권고로 나를 인도하실 것이요, 후에는 나를 영광으로 영접하시리이다."(시 73:17-23)라고 고백하는 회개의 기도를 드렸다. 그리고 그는 마침내 다윗왕 처럼 주 하나님께만 소망이 있음을 고백하게 되었다: "하늘에 주 외에 누가 내게 있으리요? 땅 위에도 주 외에는 내가 사모할 자가 아무도 없나이다. 내 육신과 내 마음은 쇠잔하나 하나님은 내 마음의 힘이시요, 영원히 나의 분깃이시니이다. 보소서, 주로부터 멀리 있는 자들은 멸망하리니 주께서는 주를 떠나 음행하는 자들을 모두 멸망시키셨나이다. 그러나 하나님을 가까이하는 것이 내게 좋으니 내가 하나님을 신뢰하여 주의모든 역사를 전파하리이다."(시 73:25-28)라고. 마침내 그고 그도 다윗처럼 하나님의 말씀을 전파하는 전도자가 될 것을 하나님께 서원하게 되었다.

       하나님의 사람 모세는 어떠했는가? 그 역시 성령 안에서 깨달은 진리를 선포하면서 하나님께 간구했다: "산들이 생기기 전, 주께서 땅과 세상을 조성하시기도 전, 곧 영원부터 영원까지 주는 하나님이시니이다. 주께서 사람을 멸망으로 돌려놓으시며 말씀하시기를  '너희 사람의 자손들아, 돌이키라.' 하시니 '주의 목전에는 천 년이 단지 지나간 어제 같고 밤의 한 경점 같나이다. 주께서 그들을 홍수로 쓸어 가시나니, 그들은 잠자는 것 같고, 아침에 그들은 자라나는 풀처럼 되나이다. 우리가 주의 성내심으로 인하여 소멸되며, 우리가 주의 진노로 인하여 고난받나이다. 주께서는 우리의 죄악들을 주 앞에 놓으시며 우리의 은밀한 죄를 주의 얼굴빛 가운데 두셨으니 우리의 모든 날이 주의 진노 가운데 자나가나이다. 우리의 연수가 칠십이요, 강건하면 팔십이어도 그 연수의 힘은 수고와 슬픔이니 그것이 곧 끊어지면 우리가 멀리 날아가나이다. 누가 주의 성내심의 능력을 아나이까? 주의 두려움을 따라 주의 진노가 있나이다."(시 90:4-11)

마침내 그가 성령 안에서 진리를 깨달은 후에 하나님께 간구하는 기도를 드렸다: "그러므로 우리에게 우리의 날들을 세도록 가르치시어 우리의 마음이 지혜에 이르게 하소서. 오 주여 돌이키소서, 언제까지니이까? 주께서는 주의 종들에 관하여 돌이키소서. 오, 아침에 주의 자비로 우리를 만족케 하시며 평생 동안 우리로 즐거워하고 기뻐하게 하소서. 주께서 우리를 곤고하게 하신 날수대로 또 우리가 기뻐하게 하소서."(시 90:12-15)

       성령 안에서 진리를 깨달은 사도 바울은 사랑하는 아들 디모데에게 "그러나 만족할 줄 아는 경건은 큰 이익이 되느니라. 우리가 세상에 아무 것도 가지고 온 것이 없으며 아무 것도 가지고 갈 수 없는 것이 분명하니 우리에게 먹을 것과 입을 것이 있으면 이것들로 만족할 것이니라. 그러나 부유하게 되고자 하는 자들은 유혹과 올무와 여러가지 어리석고 해로운 정욕에 빠지리니, 이는 사람들로 파멸과 멸망에 빠지게 하는 것이라. 돈을 사랑하는 것이 모든 악의 뿌리니, 이것을 욕심내는 어떤 사람들이 믿음에서 떠나 방황하다가 많은 슬픔으로 자신들을 찔렀도다. 그러나, 오, 하나님의 사람인 너는 이것들을 피하라. 그리고 의와 경건과 믿음과 사랑과 인내와 온유를 추구하라. 믿음의 선한 싸움을 싸우라. 영원한 생명을 붙잡으라. 이를 위하여 네가 또한 부르심을 받았고, 많은 증인들 앞에서 선한 고백으로 고백하였느니라."(딤전 6:6-12)

        그렇다! 성령 안에서 진리를 깨달은 사람은 자신에게 손너비만큼 주어진 시간들을 잘 관리하게 (time management)되는 것이다. 소망 없는 육신의 일들에 쓰는 사간을 줄이고 시간을 사서 사람들에게 참 소망을 주시는 하나님의 진리의 말씀을 전파해야 하는 것이다. 사도 바울은 에베소 교회 성도들에게 "시간을 사서 얻으라(Redeem the time), 이는 그 날들이 악하기 때문이니라. 이로 인하여 너희는 어리석게 되지 말고 주의 뜻이 무엇인지 이해하라."(엡 5:16,17)고 권면했다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 90:1-17

Subject: The Spirit of the truth of Christ in the servants of God

       There are prayers of King David, Moses, Asaph, and children of Korah in the book of Psalms. All scriptures including Psalms are anointed by the inspiration of God that is the breath of God. If we read the scriptures meditating such kind of wonders, we shall understand the truth through the same inspiration being anointed by the same Spirit of God.

       We understand easily that the confession of David through his mouth is not from the thought in hid heart affected by the flesh:

"Lord, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them. And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee. Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.

I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.

Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand. When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah."(Ps. 39:4-11)

       Yea! God wants to give the chance to all the people living in the earth so that they may understand who they are, and how much miserable they are. Even before they are emerged into extreme infirmities or suffering, they could be blessed through the confession of old people inspired by the Spirit of God so that they may understand the truth. Through the Spirit of the truth, God led many people in the past to understand of the life in the earth so that they might be blessed to have hope unto God.

       Abiding in the presence of the Spirit of God, King David was looking out the world, and saw the people who were walking in a vain to heap up riches; and he spoke the truth of God as he saw. He also understood himself of the world not existing any hope therein. Being himself at his best state, he understood that every man at his best condition is altogether vanity; and he is speaking unto all men that are walking busily in vain nowadays.

       Everyman used to say, "life is short." Even though they say the truth, actually they plan their life to heap the riches pretending themselves to live forever; they not understand their life is short. It is impossible this truth unless they hear the word of God inspired by the Spirit of God, and meditate. They say, they cannot take their riches beyond their death; but they live as if they could carry all their riches to somewhere after they pass away from the earth. Finally they disappear as a fog in the middle of chasing mammon that is their hope not taking it at all.

       King David understood that only God is his hope when his soul leaves his body after he finishes his life as handbreadth inspired by God.  When he understood this truth, he asked God to deliver him from all his transgressions for his soul saved. Understanding only God that he was waiting for not any man, not any mammon at all; and he prayed the LORD God saying, "And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee."(v7)

       What about Asaph, a Levite singing in the sanctuary? He was confused seeing worldly people were prospering. Finally, he went into the sanctuary, and saw their end, and repented to God saying,

"Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.

Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors. As a dream when one awaketh; so, O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image. Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand."(Ps. 73:17-23)

He also confessed to God as King David and pledged God to be a preacher saying, "Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works."(Ps. 73:25-28)

        What about Moses a man of God? He also declared the truth in the Spirit, and gave supplication unto God saying, "For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which groweth up. In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth. For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the light of thy countenance. For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath."(Ps. 90:4-11)

He also prayed to the LORD God after he understood the truth saying, "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Return, O Lord, how long? and let it repent thee concerning thy servants. O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil."(Ps. 90:12-15)

       Apostle Paul also understood the truth, and wrote to Timothy, one of his spiritual son saying, "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses."(1Tim. 6:6-12)

       Yea! Whosoever understand the truth is supposed to manage the life time given as handbreadth by God. Saving time for the flesh without hope, they redeem the time to preach the word of the truth of God that gives the true hope. Therefore Apostle Paul encouraged the saint in Ephesians church saying, "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is."(Eph. 5:15,16)

Amen! Hallelujah!
