금주의 묵상: 시편 34:1-22

본문: 전도서 6:1-12

제목: 고생을 통하여서 받을 수 있는 영원한 축복

       전도자 솔로몬 왕은 말년에 해 아래 있는 세상에 태어난 모든 사람이 모두 헛된 결말을 본다는 것을 그 시대의 관점에서 성령 안에서 증거하고 있다.

       비록 자신처럼 사람이 재산과 부요와 존귀를 가지고 있어도 그것들을 향유할 능력이 없기에 그것들을 다른 사람들이 향유하니 헛되고 악한 병이라고 말했다.

       또한 어떤 사람이 백명의 자녀를 낳고 장수할지라도 그의 혼이 낙을 누리지 못하고 살다가 객사하여 장사되지 못한다면 차라리 낙태된 자가 그보다 낫다고 말했다. 그는 마치 헛되이 왔다가 어두움 속에서 아무도 모르게 떠나게 되어 영원토록 어두움에 덮일 것이라고 말했다.

       사람이 아무리 많은 수고를 해도 그 수고는 자신의 입을 위한 것이지만 그 식욕은 절대로 채워질 수 없다는 진리를 말하고 있으며 현명한 자나 어리석은 자나 가난한 자나 할 것 없이 아무 것도 영원토록 가질 수 없다고 말했다.

       모든 것을 가지고 있으면서 눈으로 보면서 안목의 정욕을 채우려해도 이것 또한 헛되어 영의 고통만 가져다줄 뿐이며 그림자처럼 지나가는 헛된 인생에게 과연 무엇이 좋은 것이고 무엇이 나쁜 것인지도 알 수 없으며 현세에서나 내세에서 무슨 일이 일어날지 아무도 말해 줄 자가 없다고 말하고 있는 것이다.

       결국 모든 사람은 고생만하다가 어느날 갑자기 세상을 떠나게 되는 헛된 삶을 살 수밖에 없다는 고백인 것이다. 하나님께서는 고통받는 욥에게 그 친구 엘리파스를 통하여 "불티가 위로 날아가는 것과 같이 사람은 고생하려고 태어나느니라."(욥 5:7)고 말씀하셨다. 다시 말해서 하나님께서 모든 사람을 이 세상에 태어나게 하실 때에 고생시키려고 태어나게 하신다는 것이다. 그렇다면, 세상에 태어나는 모든 사람이 축복받으러 태어나는 것이 아니고 고생하려고 태어난다면 차라리 태어나지 않는 것이 더 축복이 아니겠는가? 이 세상에서 예수님 다음으로 엄청난 고생을 한 욥이 자신의 생일을 저주한 것에 대해 그 어느누구도 욕할 수 없는 것이다. 욥은 평생 받을 고생을 짧은 기간 동안 아주 혹독하게 경험했지만 대부분의 사람들은 평생 동안 계속해서 하는 고생을 잘 느끼지 못하다가 죽는 순간에 갑자기 깨닫고 세상을 떠나는 것을 본다.

       모든 사람이 태어나는 장소인 이 세상은 과연 어떤 곳인가? 이 사실을 깨닫게 되면 왜 사람이 고생하려고 태어나는 것을 깨닫게 될 것이다. 모든 사람이 태어나는 세상에는 사단이라는 존재가 통치하는 가운데  가능한한 빨리 창조주 하나님으로부터 벗어나려고 몸부림치는 타락한 죄악 세상인 것이다. 그렇다면 어떤 몸부림을 치는가? 사도 바울은 이에 대하여, "사람들이 자기를 사랑하고 돈을 사랑하며, 자긍하고 교만하며, 하나님을 모독하고 부모에게 불순종하며, 감사하지 아니하고 거룩하지 아니하며 무정하고, 화해하지 아니하며, 모함하고 절제하지 못하며, 사납고, 선한 것을 좋아하지 아니하며 배반하고 분별이 없으며, 자만하고 쾌락을 사랑하는 것이 하나님을 사랑하는 것보다 더하며…"(딤후 3:2-4)라고 증거했다. 하나님의 교회에 있는 사람들이 이런 상황이라면 교회 밖은 얼마나 더 하겠는가?

       그렇다면, 왜 하나님께서는 아직도 여전히 매일 매일 사람들이 태어나도록 하시는 것인가? 그 이유에 대하여 깨닫는 길은 하나님의 생각을 아는 길밖에 없는 것이다. 그렇지 않고서는 평생을 원망만하면서 자신의 생일을 저주하면서 살 수밖에 없는 것이다. 그러나 하나님께서는 고생하면서 살면서 때가 되면 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫는 기회를 주시는 것이다. 그러나 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫게 하기 위해서는 연속되는 고생을 겪으면서 자신의 고통스런 삶을 괴로워하다가 보이지 않는 하나님을 만나게 되어 그 해답을 얻게 되는 것이다.

       그런데 하나님은  "역경은 티끌에서 오는 것이 아니요, 고생도 땅에서 생겨난 것이 아니라."(욥 5:6)고  말씀하신다. 이는 티끌과 땅이 저주를 받았기 때문에 인간의 죽음에 책임이 있을 수 있지만(창 3:17), 티끌과 땅은 역경과 고통의 원천은 아니라는 말씀이다. 그러나 이 두 가지 불운인 역경과 고통은  인간의 본성과 이 땅을 통치하는 죄와 사망의 권세를 가진 마귀에게 있다는 것이다. 결국 모든 사람은 이 세상 신인 사단이 통제하는 제도 속으로 들어오는 것이다. 결국 우리의 본성이 우리를 거스리고, 세상 제도가 우리를 대적하고, 사단이 우리를 대적하는  상황에서 우리는 "불티가 위로 날아가는 것과 같이 고생하려고" 태어난 것이다. 이렇게 "인간은 날수가 적고 고통으로 가득" 차 있다 (욥 14:1)

        그러면 사람이 어떤 고생을 해 왔는지 한 번 살펴본다면, 두 살이 되기도 전에 엉덩이를 두둘겨 맞고, 칼에 베이기도 하며 마루에서 떨어져서 무릎이 까지지기도 하고 손가락이 문틈에 끼이기도 하면서 세 살이 되기도 전에 역경과 고통을 맛본다. 또한 열 살이 되기도 전에 학교에서 왕따도 당하고 성적이 좋지 않아 혼나기도 하고 찬구들과 주먹싸움 끝에 멍이 들기도 하며 점심값이 없어서 식사를 거르기도 하는 고통을 겪는다. 또 스무 살이 되기 전에 여자 문제, 데이트 문제, 선생님과의 문제, 인기가 없어 고통받는 문제 등으로 고통을 받는다. 삼십 살이 되기 전에 자동차 사고, 주차위반 딱지, 실직,  가정문제를 참아내야 한다. 그리고 많은 사람들이 사십이 되기 전에 총상도 입고, 칼에 찔리기도 하고, 병원 청구서, 변호사비, 재판 등으로 고통을 받는다. 오십이 넘으면서 몸의 통증이나 갱년기, 우울증 고혈압이나 당뇨병 같은 각종 성인병에 고통을 받으면서 최근에 들어와서는 많은 사람들이 치매로 고통을 받는다. 또한 살면서 인생에 대해 배우게 되며, 진짜 인생을 경험한 사람들은 하나님의 말씀을 통해 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫고 목회자의 길을 가기도 하는 것이다.

       교회라는 곳은 역경 속에서 고통받으며 살던 사람들에게 왜 사람이 고생하려고 태어났는지 깨닫게 해 주는 곳이다. 하나님의 말씀은 바로 이 진리를 알게 해 주는 말씀이기 때문이다. 육신의 정욕과 안목의 정욕과 이생의 자랑에 취해 있는 사람은 교회에 올 이유를 찾지 못하는 사람들이며 만일 그들이 교회에 와서 함께 모인다면 그곳은 교회가 아닌 사교 클럽이 될 수밖에 없는 것이다. 그러나 그들 역시 언제 그들에게 고생이 찾아올지 모르고 산다. 하나님께서는 무언가 의롭게 살려고 노력하는 사람들과 죄악 가운데 진리를 찾는 사람들에게 고난을 허락하시어 그 고난을 통하여 하나님의 영원한 축복을 받기 위하여 세상에 태어난 뜻을 깨닫기를 원하시는 것이다. 그러기에 당대에 의인이었던 욥에게 그 엄청난 고통을 허락하신 것은 그 고통의 터널을 통하여 하나님께서 만나주시기 위한 것이었다. 그러므로 성경은 "의인이 부르짖으니, 주께서 들으시고 그들의 모든 고난으로부터 그들을 구해내시는도다."(시 34:17) 라고 말씀하시는 것이다.

       그렇다! 교회에 모여있는 모든 지체들은 하나님의 말씀을 들음으로 하나님을 믿게 되며 구원받아 영적으로 자라가는 것이다. 그러나 마음 속에 그리스도의 형상이 이루어질 때까지 험난한 여정이 남아있는 것이다. 그러나 성령으로 거듭나게 되면 그리스도 예수의 지체들이 되어 한 몸을 이루게 되는 것이다. 사람마다 자기 육신을 미워하지 않고 오히려 육성하고 아끼듯이 주님께서도 일단 거듭나서 그분의 지체가 된 모든 사람들을 차별없이 이끼시는 것이다. 그러므로 교회의 지체들을 조건없이 섬기는 일이 우리의 구주이신 예수 그리스도를 섬기는 일이며 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 일인 것이다. 모든 지체들이 머리되신 주님의 지체인 것을 깨닫고 그들을 품고 허물을 덮으며 뜨겁게 사랑하는 것이 주님을 사랑하는 길이 되는 것이다. 무관심이나 서로 싸우는 것은 주님을 사랑하지 않는 일이며 주님과 싸우는 일까지도 자신도 모르게 범하게 되는 것이다. 주님께서는 우리가 사랑받을 자격이 있어서 모든 죄를 용서하시고 생명을 주신 것이 아니지 않은가?.

       사도 바울은 자신같은 죄인의 우두머리를 구원해 주신 주님의 뜻을 깨닫고 골로새에 있는 성도들에게 "이제 내가 너희를 위하여 받는 나의 고난들을 기뻐하고 또 그리스도가 고통받으신 후에 있는 것을 그의 몸인 교회를 위하여 내 육신에 채우노라."(골 1:24)고 말씀했다. 교회의 모든 지체들을 위하여 고난을 짊어지는 일이야말로 자신의 십자가를 지고 주님을 따라가는 삶이 되는 것이다. 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 34:1-22

Main scripture: Ecclessiastes 6:1-12

Subject: The eternal blessing through trouble

       A preacher, King Solomon in his end of life testified in the Spirit of all men born in the earth that are ended with vanity:

Even though someone may have fortune, riches and honor, yet God gives him not the power to eat thereof, but stranger eats it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease. If a man beget an hundred children, and live many years, so that his soul be not filled with good, and also that he has no burial: I say, that an untimely birth is better than he. For he comes in with vanity, and departs in darkness, and his name shall be covered with darkness….All the labour of man is for his mouth, and yet the appetite is not filled. For what has the wise more than the fool? What has the poor, and that knows to walk before the living? Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire: this is also vanity and vexation of spirit…..Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better? For who knows what is good for man in his life, all the days of his vain life which he spends as a shadow? For who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

       In conclusion, he confessed, all men have to pass through troubles in their life to be ended with sudden death in vanity to leave the world. God spoke to Job through one of his friend, Eliphaz saying, "Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward."(Job 5:7)

In other word, God let all men born in the world for them unto trouble. Then man had better not to be born in the world not to be unto trouble, since no one is going to be born to be blessed. No one could blame Job who passed through severe trouble next to Jesus, even though he cursed his birth day. Job experienced many severe troubles in a short period of time; but almost all people are passing through troubles one by one for their whole life so that they may not be able to feel it seriously until they are finished with sudden death one day.

      What kind of place is the world where all men are born? Understanding this, we shall understand why we were born unto trouble. This world has been reigned by Satan for six thousand years ago; therefore this world has been trying to come out of the hands of the God Creator fallen with wickedness under Satan. Apostle Paul testified of this: "For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;"(2Tim 3:2-4)

Nowadays, even the people inside of the church of God are so evil, then how worse the people outside of the church?

       The, why God still allows men to be born day by day continuously? It is only possible for us to know the thoughts of God to figure it out. Unless we understand the mysterious reason, we are supposed to curse the birth day in the whole life. But God is so good, because he is willing to give the opportunity all men for them to know the will of God for their life in a due time. God want to drive all men into many kinds of trouble in suffering so that they may see the Lord God in the midst of trouble to have the answer of their life.

       God speaks unto all men saying,  "Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;"(Job 5:6) Even though the dust and ground were cursed to be responsible for death of man (Gen. 3:17), but the dust and ground cannot be the original source for affliction and trouble. Rather theses two of affliction and trouble are related to the original nature of man as well as the Devil that has the power of sin and death. After all, all men are emerged into the system of the world that is ruled by Satan when they are born. Finally, our original nature is against us; and the system of the world is against us; actually Satan is against us, all men are born into trouble, as the sparks fly upward. Therefore man is born of woman is of few days, and full of trouble(Job 14:1).

       Then what kinds of trouble all men are passing through life? Before two years old, their rump hit, their hands cut by knife, their knee wounded fallen from floor, putting their fingers between doors; before three years old, they experience trouble and affliction; before ten years old, ridiculed by friend in school, trouble with bad report card, bruised by the fight with friends, skipping lunch without lunch money and so on; before twenty years old, problem with girls and dates with them, trouble with teachers, trouble with no popularity and so on; before thirty years old, car accidents, parking ticket, losing job, family problem; many people before they are forty years old, wounded by gun, pierced by knife, hospital bills,  lawyer's bills, court judgment and so on; and after fifty years old, many kinds of troubles such as body pains, change o menopause for woman, depression, many kinds of adult diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes, and even Alzheimer. Someone that experience the real life in the course of learning about it understands the will of God through the word of God, and change their life to be minister.

       What kind of place so called church is? This is the place that teach people why they are born unto trouble; for the word of God teaches this truth. Someone that are living in the lust of life, the lust of eyes and the pride of life don't feel the reason why they have come to church. If such kinds of people gather together in the church, it must be called as a social club instead of church. But they also are living not knowing when all of sudden affliction and trouble visit them. God allows troubles for them that are pursuing righteousness, and looking for the truth in the midst of sins to give them eternal blessing through giving them understanding the will of God for their birth in the world. Therefore God allowed Job, a righteous man to be in a very severe affliction as well trouble so that he could be able to meet the LORD God in the tunnel of trouble. Therefore the scripture says,  "The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles."(Ps. 34:17)

       Yea! All the members of church are to believe in God through hearing the words of God, and saved and grow spiritually. But there are still troubled journey until the image of Christ be formed in our heart. Once being born again of the Spirit, he shall be consisting of the body of Christ to be his member. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes it, even as the Lord the church. Therefore the Lord Jesus Christ loves each born again member with equality . Therefore, to serve our Savior Jesus Christ is to serve each member of the church without any condition; this is the way to please God the Father. Understanding all the members of the church as the members of Christ, the head of the church, we have to embrace their transgression with fervent love of God; this is the real way to love God. Apathy or fight among the members is not the way to love the Lord; these things could be ended up with fighting with Lord. Our Lord Jesus Christ has given us remission of sins along with the life eternal because we are qualified to receive the love of God. Apostle Paul, understanding the will of God that gave salvation unto him as the head of sinners, wrote to the saints of Colossians saying,  "Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:"(Col. 1:24)

If we carry our cross for all the members of the church is the way of life that follows the Lord taking up the cross. Amen! hallelujah!
