금주의 묵상: 시편 8:1-9

본문: 에베소서 1:1-23

제목: 지구상에 태어난 사람들이 받는 영원한 축복

       지금도 많은 사람들이 질병과 가난과 고통 속에서 신음하면서 자신의 출생을 저주하면서 살아가고 있는 것을 듣는다. 날이 가면 갈수록 수많은 사람들이 자살충동을 느끼면서 스스로 목숨을 끊고 있다는 소식을 듣는다. 성경에 나타난 사람 가운데 "욥"이라는 사람 역시 자신의 생일을 저주하고 있었다. 오늘 본문 말씀을 통하여 우리는 이 지구상에 태어난 사람들이 받을 축복에 대하여 성령께서 사도 바울을 통하여 자세하게 증거하고 있는 것이다. 특별히 본문 말씀은 하나님께서 예수라는 이름으로 사람이 되셔서 세상 죄를 제거하신 후 지난 이천 년 동안 태어난 모든 사람들에게 주신 축복의 기회에 대하여 말씀하고 있는 것이다.

         사도 바울은 에베소에 있는 구원받은 성도들과 또한 성도들 가운데 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 신실한 자들에게 편지하면서 그들에게 하나님 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도로부터 은혜와 평강이 있기를 기원하고 있다.

         그는 성도들이 처한 영적인 위치에 대하여 그들은 이미 영적으로 그리스도 안에 있으며 그들의 영은 이미 하늘에 있음을 천명하고 있는 것이다. 다시 말해서 영적인 복에 대하여 증거하고 있는 것이다. 이 사실에 대하여 좀 더 구체적으로, "자비가 풍성하신 하나님께서 우리를 사랑하신 그의 큰 사랑으로 인하여 죄들 가운데 죽었던 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨으니 (너희가 은혜로 구원을 받은 것이니라.) 또 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수 안에서 천상에 함께 앉히셨으니…"(엡 2:4-6)라고 증거하면서 성도들의 몸은 이 지상에 살고 있지만 그들의 영은 이미 하늘나라에서 살고 있음을 증거하고 있는 것이다. 그러므로 이에 대하여 사도 바울은 로마에 있는 그리스도인들에게 "하나님의 나라는 먹고 마시는 것이 아니라 다만 성령 안에서 의와 화평과 기쁨이라."(롬 14:17)고 증거한 것이다.

        성도들이 그리스도 안에 있다는 것이 어떤 영적인 의미를 주는가? 자신이 죄인임을 깨닫고 예수 그리스도를 믿음으로 영접하여 성령으로 거듭난 로마에 있는 성도들에게 사도 바울은 "죄에게 죽은 우리가 어떻게 더 이상 그 가운데 살겠느냐? 예수 그리스도 안으로 침례받은 우리가 그의 죽으심 안으로 침례를 받아 그와 함께 장사되었으니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 인하여 그리스도께서 죽은 자들로부터 일으켜지심과 같이 우리도 또한 생명의 새로움 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이니라.'(롬 6:2-4)고 증거했다. 그러므로 그리스도 안에 있는 성도들은 마치 노아와 그의 가족들이 방주 속에 들어간 것처럼 그 당시 세상에 내려진 홍수 심판과 상관없이 그들은 방주 안에서 심판이 지날 때까지 평안 가운데 있었던 것과 같은 것이다. 또한 앞으로도 조만간 성도들이 대환란이 오기 전에 하늘나라로 옮겨진 후에 이 땅에 하나님의 심판이 임하게 될 것이다.

      하나님께서는 이 지구를 창조하시기 전에 이미 계획을 세우셨다. 다시 말해서 이 지구를 창조하신 목적에 대하여 말씀하고 있는 것이다. 누구든지 주 예수 그리스도께서 온 세상의 죄를 제거하신 사실(요 1:29)을 믿음으로 그리스도 안에 들어간 사람들을 그분 앞에 거룩하고 흠 없게 하셔서 하나님의 영이신 성령을 주셔서 하나님께서 친히 낳으신 그의 자녀들로 입양하실 것을 계획하신 것이다. 마치 하나님께서 자신의 영을 마리아의 태 속에 잉태케 하셔서 하나님의 아들을 사람으로 태어나게 하신 것과 비교할 수 있는 것이다. 이 얼마나 신비로우신 하나님의 계획인가? 이 지구 상에 태어난 모든 사람들에게 그들이 유대인이건 이방인이건 차별없이 하나님께서 사람으로 나타나신 예수 그리스도를 믿고 영접하기만 하면 하나님의 아들들이 되는 권세를 주신 것이다(요 1;12). 이것은 오로지 그리스도의 보혈을 통하여 모든 죄들을 용서하신 하나님의 의로 인한 은혜인 것이다.

        또한 사도 바울은 하나님께서 창세 전에 그리스도 안에서 하나님의 자녀들을 입양하실 계획을 세우신 신비로운 계획에 대하여 증거하고 있다. 조만간 때가 차게 되면, 하늘에 있는 것들이나 땅에 있는 것들이나 자신 안에 있는 하나님의 아들들까지도 만물을 그리스도 안에서 하나로 함께 모으려는 것이라고 증거하고 있는 것이다. 예수께서도 유대인 제자들에게 이러한 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지도록 기도하라고 말씀하지 않았는가? "아버지의 왕국이 임하시오며, 아버지의 뜻이 하늘에서와 같이 땅에서도 이루어지이다….그 왕국과 권세와 영광이 영원토록 아버지의 것이옵니다."(마 6:10, 13)

         사도 요한은 이러한 신비로운 하나님의 뜻이 대 환란 끝에 이루어진 것을 미리 보고 증거했다: "그 후에 일곱째 천사가 나팔을 부니, 하늘에서 큰 음성이들이 있어 말하기를 '이 세상의 나라들이 우리 주와 그의 그리스도의 왕국들이 되어서 그분이 영원무궁토록 통치하시리라.'고 하더라."(계 11:15)

        또한 사도 바울은 그리스도 안에 있는 성도들이 하나님의 아들들로서 유업을 받았다고 증거하고 있으며, 이것 또한 하나님의 목적이라는 것이다. 세상 사람들도 자신의 자녀들에게 유산을 물려주는데 하물며 천지를 창조하신 하나님께서 그의 자녀들에게 유업을 주시지 않겠는가? 하나님께서는 만왕의 왕이시며 만주의 주시니 그 아들들에게 주시는 유업이 무엇이겠는가? 바로 만물을 다스리는 통치권의 일부를 주시지 않겠는가? 어떤 사람들은 열 고을을 다스리고 또 다른 사람들에게는 다섯 고을을 다스리는 통치권을 주시겠다고 친히 말씀하시지 않았는가?(눅 19:17-19). 한 고을이 별 하나가 될 수도 있다고 한다면 얼마나 어마어마한 일이 되겠는가? 그러므로 사도 바울은 이 엄청난 사실에 대해 성도들의 영적인 눈이 열려서  깨닫게 해 달라고 기도했다: "우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 자기를 아는 지식 안에서 지혜와 계시의 영을 너희에게 주시어 너희로 인하여 그의 부르심의 소망이 무엇이며 성도들 안에 있는  그의 유업의 풍성함이 무엇인지 또 그의 강력한 능력의 역사하심을 따라 믿는 우리에게 향하신 그의 능력의 지극히 위대하심이 어떤 것인가를 너희로 알게 하시기를 원하노라."(엡 1:17-19)

       누구든지 그분 안에서 진리의 말씀, 곧 구원의 복음을 듣고서 그분을 신뢰함으로 그분을 주와 그리스도로 영접한 사람들은 성령을 받아 다시 영적인 하나님의 아들들로 다시 태어나는 것이다. 또한 그 약속의 성령으로 인(seal)을 치시며 하나님께서 자신의 피로 값주고 사신 몸이 부활하는 그 날까지 유업을 받는 보증으로 성령께서 성도들 안에 거히신다고 사도 바울은 증거하고 있다. 마침내 하나님께서는 예수 그리스도께서 하나님의 아들들을 하늘로 데려가실 그리스도의 날, 즉 휴거의 날에 하나님의 아들들로부터 영광의 찬양을 받으시기 원하시는 것이다.

         이런 연유로, 하나님께서 예수 그리스도를 그의 성도들인 하나님의 자녀들이 모여있는 공동체인 하나님의 교회의 머리가 되게 하신 것이다. 또한 그분께서는 교회 안에 만물 안에 모든 것을 채우시는 충만함이 있게 하시는 것이다. 다시 말해서 그분께서 하늘로부터 강림하실 때 그분의 교회 안에 있는 성도들을 통하여 모든 만물을 새롭게 채우시는 일을 하실 것이다. 사도 요한은 이에 대하여 증거했다: "또 보좌에 앉으신 분이 말씀하시기를  '보라, 내가 만물을 새롭게 만드노라.' 하시고 내게 말씀하시기를 '이 말씀들은  참되고 신실하니 기록하라.' 하시고 또 내게 말씀하시기를 '다 이루었노라. 나는 알파와 오메가요 시작과 끝이라. 내가 목마른 자에게 생명수의 샘을 값없이 주리라. 이기는 자는 모든 것을 상속받으리니, 나는 그에게 하나님이 될 것이요 그는 나에게 아들이 되리라. 그러나 두려워하는 자들과 믿지 아니하는 자들과 살인자들과 음행하는 자들과 마술하는 자들과 우상 숭배하는 자들과 모든 거짓말하는 자들은 불과 유황으로 차는 못에 참여하리니 이것이 둘째 사망이라..' 고 하시더라."(계 21:5-8)  

       이기는 자가 누구인가? 사도 요한은 이기는 자에 대하여 세상을 이기는 자라고 분명하게 증거했다: "하나님께로부터 태어난 자는 누구든지 세상을 이기기 때문이라. 세상을 이기는 승리는 이것이니, 곧 우리의 믿음이라. 예수께서 하나님의 아들이심을 믿는 자 외에 세상을 이기는 자가 누구냐?"(요일 5:4,5)

        지금이야말로 영적인 눈을 떠야할 때가 되었다. 지금 우리는 라오디게아 교회 시대에 살고 있다. 육신의 눈은 활짝 열려있지만 영적인 눈이 멀어서 하늘에 있는 영원한 유업을 보지 못하고 육신의 정욕과 안목의 정욕과 생의 자랑에 취해 있는 교회들을 향한 주님의 음성을 다시 한 번 들어보지 않겠는가? "내가 네 행위를 아노니 네가 차지도 아니하고 덥지도 아니하기 때문에 내가 너를 내 입에서 토해 내겠노라. 네가 말하기를 '나는 부자며, 부요하고 아무 것도 부족한 것이 없다.'고 하지만 너는 비참하고 가련하며 가난하고 눈멀고, 헐벗은 것을 알지 못하는 도다. 내가 너에게 권고하노니 내게서 불로 단련된 금을 사서 부요하게 되고, 흰 옷을 사서 입음으로 너의 벌거벗은 수치를 드러내지 않게 하며, 또 안약을 네 눈에 발라 보게 하라. 내가 사랑하는 자마다 책망하고 징계하노니 그러므로 열심을 내고 회개하라."(계 3:16-19) 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: psalms 8:1-9

Main scripture: Ephesians 1:1-23

Subject: Eternal blessing for them that are born in the earth

        We are hearing of many people that are screaming in the midst of diseases and poverty and sufferings, and cursing their the day of birth. Many people are feeling like committing suicide, and ended up giving up life. Job was cursing his birth day as written in the book of Job. The Holy Ghost is testifying of the blessing for them in detail that are born in the earth through Apostle Paul. Especially in the main passage, there is a very important testimony of Jesus Christ, God manifested in flesh took away the sin of the world, and gave the opportunity for blessing for them born last two thousand years.

       Apostle Paul writes a letter to the saints which are Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus saying grace be to them, and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

       Apostle Paul explains about their spiritual position that they are in Christ, and their spirits are already in the heavenly places in Christ. In other word, he testifies of their spiritual blessing that they already received in Christ; and he said about it in more details:

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:"(Eph. 2:4-6) The saints are living in the earth physically, but their spirits are already dwelling in heavenly places. Apostle Paul testified of this unto the saints in Rome: "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."(Romans 14;17)

         What does it means, when we say, the saints are in Christ? Apostle Paul wrote unto them that understood themselves sinners, and received the Lord Jesus Christ by faith, and born again by the Spirit of God: "…How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."(Romans 6:2-4) Therefore the saints in Christ are same as the family of Noah that entered into the Ark; Noah's family abided in the Ark in peace until the judgment of flood was ended. And sooner or later, the saints in Christ shall be moved to heaven before the judgment of God in the Great Tribulation.

       God had made a plan before he made foundation of the earth. In other word, God had made a plan to be performed in the earth. Whosoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ which took away the sin of the world (John 1:29), and enter into the body of Christ is to be holy and without blame before him in love through the Holy Ghost, and to be predestinated unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will. It is as God made his Spirit to be conceived in the womb of Mary to give birth his Son as a man; what a mysterious plan of God it is? Whether they are Jew or Gentiles born in the earth, whosoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ who was manifested in flesh shall receive the power to become the sons of God (John 1;12). This is the grace through the righteousness that gives the remission of sins through the blood of Christ Jesus.

       Apostle Paul also testifies of the mysterious plan of God that shall adopt the children of God in Christ before the foundation of the earth. Sooner or later, in the dispensation of the fullness of times, God shall gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him that are the children of God. This is the reason why Jesus taught to pray to the Jewish disciples saying,

"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven….. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen."(Matt. 6:10, 13)

           Apostle John also testified of the mysterious will of God to  be done at the end of the Great Tribulation: "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."(Rev. 11:15)

       Apostle Paul testified of the inheritance for the saints in Christ as the children of God; this is also one of the purpose of God. Even the people not in Christ are willing to leave inheritance for their children when they pass away; God the Creator must be willing to give inheritance to his children. Since God the Father is the Lord of Lords, and the king of Kings, guess what kind of inheritance shall be given to his children? King inherits ruling power to his children. Jesus Christ said to a man to have the authority over ten cities; to another man to have authority over five cities (Luke 19:17-19). If one city could a star in heaven, what a great inheritance for the children of God? Apostle Paul prayed to God for the saints to open their spiritual eyes so that they may understand their inheritance reserved for them in heaven:

"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,"(Eph. 1:17-19)

       Whosoever hear the word of truth, that is the gospel of salvation, and receives the Lord Jesus Christ by faith shall be born again of the Spirit to be spiritual children of God. And he shall be sealed the spirit of promise that is the earnest of inheritance until the redemption  of the purchased that is putting off the immortal and corruptible body. Finally, God the Father wants to be glorified from his children in the day of Christ, that is the Rapture when Jesus Christ  take them home in heaven.

       In this reason, God made Jesus Christ to be the head of his church that is the congregation of the children of God. And he has put all things under the feet of Christ making his church the fullness of him that fills all in all. Apostle John testified of this too:   "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."(Rev. 21:5-8)

         Who is the one that overcomes? Apostle Paul testified of the one that overcomes the world: "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?"(1John 5:4, 5)

       It is the real time for us to open our spiritual eyes. We are now living in the age of the church of the Laodiceans; their physical eyes are wide open, but their spiritual eyes are totally blind so that they couldn't see their eternal inheritance reserved in heaven; and they are drunken of the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. What about listening at the voice of the Lord Jesus unto them?

"So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."(Rev. 3:16-19) Amen! Hallelujah!
