금주의 묵상: 시편 16:1-11

본문: 마태복음 27:45-56

제목 예수 그리스도의 부활과 하나님의 나라(왕국)

       본문 말씀을 통하여 우리는 하나님의 경륜 안에서 예정하신 새로운 시대가 시작되는 것을 본다. 다시 말해서 율법시대로부터 은혜시대로 전환되는 역사적인 광경을 보는 것이다. 율법시대가 되기전 이천오백 여년 동안 그리고 예수 그리스도께서 오시기 전까지 얼마나 많은 사람들이 태어나고 죽었겠는가? 그들 대부분은 앞으로 천년왕국이 끝난 후 있을 백보좌 심판대 앞에 서서 자신들의 행위대로 심판을 받게 될 것이다: "또 내가 큰 백보좌와 그 위에 앉으신 분을 보니, 그의 면전에서 땅과 하늘이 사라졌고 그들의 설 자리도 보이지 않더라. 또 내가 죽은 자들을 보니, 작은 자나 큰 자나 하나님 앞에 서 있는데, 책들이 펴져 있으며 또 다른 책도 펴져 있는데 그것은 생명의 책이라. 죽은 자들은 자기들의 행위에 따라 그 책들에 기록된 대로 심판을 받더라. 바다도 그 안에 있던 죽은 자들을 넘겨주고 또 사망과 지옥도 그들 안에 있던 죽은 자들을 넘겨주니 그들이 각자 자기들의 행위에 따라 심판을 받으며 사망과 지옥도 불못에 던져지니 이것이 둘째 사망이라. 누구든지 생명책에 기록되지 않은 자는 불못에 던져지리라."(계 20:11-15)

         본문 말씀에서 예수 그리스도께서 죽은자들로부터 셋째 날에 부활하셨을 때 함께 부활한 사람들을 본다. 잠들었던 많은 성도들의 몸이 일어났다고 사도 마태는 증거하고 있다. 다시 말해서 율법시대에 태어나서 자신들의 죄들를 위하여 율법에 따라 희생제물을 드리다가 죽어 잠들었던 아브라함의 자손들 중 많은 구약성도들이 죽은 자 가운데서 주님과 함께 부활한 것이다. 뿐만 아니라 그들이 부활한 후에 무덤에서 나와 거룩한 도성, 즉 예루살렘으로 들어가서 많은 사람들에게 자신들이 부활한 것을 증거한 것이다. 이번에는 로마 백부장과 그와 함께 예수님을 지키고 있던 사람들이 지진과 그 일어난 일들, 즉 성도들의 부활을 보고 크게 두려워하면서 "참으로 이 사람(예수)은 하나님의 아들이었도다."라고 자신들의 입으로 증거했다. 사도 마태뿐만 아니라 로마인들 역시 자신들의 눈으로 본 것을 증거하였으니 어느 누가 예수 그리스도의 부활과 잠자던 구약 성도들의 부활을 부인할 수 있겠는가?

       그렇다면, 어떻게 죽어서 무덤 속에서 잠들었던 많은 구약성도들이 부활할 수 있었는가? 그들이 부활한 사실과 관련된 일들에 대하여 사도 마태는 분명하게 증거하고 있다.  주님께서 고난 받으시고 십자가에서 모든 피와 물을 다 쏟으시고 죽으셨다. 그리고 예수께서 죽으신 순간 동시에 성전의 휘장이 위에서 아래까지 둘로 찢어지고 땅이 흔들리며 바위들이 갈라지고 무덤들이 열린 것이다. 예수님의 피흘리심과 죽으심 그리고 부활하심 때문에 이 모든 일이 일어난 것이다. 사도 바울은 죄인들이 죽어야 하는 사실과 다시 살 수 있는 유일한 길에 대하여 증거했다: "이는 죄의 삯은 사망이요, 하나님의 선물은 예수 그리스도 우리 주로 말미암은 영원한 생명이기 때문이라….이는 모든 사람이 죄를 지었으므로 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하다가 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 구속을 통하여 그의 은혜로 값없이 의롭게 되었음이라. 하나님께서는 그의 피를 믿는 믿음을 통하여 그를 화목제물로 세우셨으니 이는 하나님의 오래 참으심 가운데서 이전에 지은 죄들을 사하심으로 인하여 그의 의를 선포하려 하심이라."(롬 6:23; 3:23-25)

       그렇다! 예수 그리스도께서 세상 죄를 제거하시기 위하여 피를 흘리시기 전까지는 어느누구도 의로워질 수 없었다. 그러므로 구약시대의 성도들은 짐승의 피로 잠시 그들의 육체만 정결케 할 수 있었으며 오직 대제사장만 염소의 피를 가지고 휘장 안에 있는 지성소, 즉 하나님의 임재가 있는 곳 다시 말해서 지상에 있는 유일한 하나님의 왕국에 일년에 한 번 들어가서 백성들의 죄들을 용서받을 수 있었던 것이다. 그러므로 그들은 죽어서 살아날 수도 없었고 하늘에 올라갈 수도 없었다. 그러나 그들이 기다리던 메시야이신 예수 그리스도께서 마침내 세상 죄를 제거하시기 위해 율법의 모든 죄들을 자신의 육신에 받으시고 죽으셨다. 세상 죄(The sin of the world)를 제거하셨다함은 사망의 원인이 되었던, "죄들"이 아닌 "죄", 즉 아담으로부터 물려받은 원죄를 제거하셧다는 말씀인 것이다. 또한 세상 죄를 제거하시기 위하여 피흘려 죽으시고 셋째 날에 살아나셨을 때, 짐승의 피로 잠시 동안 죄들을 덮어주셔서 심판을 받지 않고 지하 아브라함의 품인 낙원에서 잠들어 있던 성도들의 원죄가 제거되어 그들이 그리스도께서 부활하셨을 때 함께 부활한 것이다. 사도 바울은 하브리인 성도들에게 그리스도의 피의 능력에 대하여 증거했다: "염소와 송아지의 피로 아니하고 오직 자신의 피로 한 번 성소에 들어가셔서 우리를 위하여 영원한 구속을 이루셨느니라. 황소와 염소의 피와 암송아지의 재도 불결한 자들에게 뿌려 그 육체를 정결케 함으로써 거룩하게 한다면 하물며 영원하신 성령을 통하여 흠 없는 자신을 하나님께 드린 그리스도의 피가 어찌 죽은 행실에서 너희 양심을 정결케 하여 살아게신 하나님을 섬기게 하지 못하겠느냐?"(히 9:12-14)

        뿐만 아니라  지난 이천 년 동안 주 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 부활하심을 믿는 모든 사람들 역시 그리스도의 피를 통하여 양심 속에 있는 원죄가 정결케 되어 하나님께서 임재하신 지성소에 들어가게 되어, 영적인 하나님의 왕국이 그들 속에 임하게 되는 것이다(롬 14:17). 또한 이 때에 그들의 영 속에 그리스도의 부활이 재현되는 것이다. 그러므로 성령을 통하여 영이 부활한 그리스도인들 역시 영원한 생명 속에서 살수 있게 되는 것이다. 이에 대하여 예수 그리스도께서는 나사로의 누이 마르다에게 말씀하셨다: "나는 부활이요, 생명이니 나를 믿는 자는 죽어도 살 것이며 또 살아서 나를 믿는 자는 누구나 영원히 죽지 아니하리라. 네가 이것을 믿느냐?"(요 11:25,26)

        그리스도의 죽으심과 부활하심을 통하여 세상 죄가 제거된 이후 주님께서는 사심일 동안 세상에 더 머무르시면서 하나님의 나라(왕국)에 대하여 전파하셨다. 누가는 이에 대하여 증거했다: "예수께서 고난을 당하신 후 자신이 살아계심을 그들에게 많은 무오한 증거들로 보여 주시고 사십 일 동안 그들에게 보이시며 하나님의 나라에 관한 일들을 말씀하셨노라."(행 1:3)

     그렇다! 주 예수 그리스도의 죽으심과 부활은 하나님의 왕국의 문이 활짝 열림을 선포하는 엄청난 역사적인 사건이 된 것이다. 그러므로 우리가 복음을 전하는 것은 죄인들을 열린 값없이 하나님의 왕국으로 초청하는 축복된 일이 되는  것이다. 마치 미국에 온 사람이 자신의 가족을 초청하는 것과 비교할 수 있겠지만  어떻게 미국을 하나님의 왕국과 가히 비교할 수 있겠는가? 하늘과 땅만큼 차이가 있으니. 주님께서는 이 세상에 나타나실 때에 자신의 죽으심과 부활을 통하여 땅과 공중에서 세상을 통치하는 마귀의 일, 즉 죄와 사망을 없이하시고 마귀를 영원히 멸하시기로 작정하시고 제자들에게 첫 번째 기도 제목을 주셨던 것이다:

"아버지의 왕국이 임하시오며, 아버지의 뜻이 하늘에서와 같이 땅에서도 이루어지이다."(마 6:10) 아멘! 할렐루야

Meditation of the week: Psalms 16:1-11

Subject: Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God

      In the main passage, we see the beginning of the new era in the dispensation of God. In other word, the historical scene of the era of grace is beginning fading out of the times of the law. How many people had been born and died for 2,500 years before the law of God was given to the world as well as during the time of the law before Jesus Christ appeared in the earth? Almost of them shall stand before the Judgment Seat of white throne to be judged according to their works:

"And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."(Rev. 20:11-15)

       Apostle Matthew testifies of them that resurrected when Jesus Christ rose again from the dead the third day. He testifies of them saying many bodies of the saints which slept rose. In other word, they are  the saints of the Old Testament out of the seeds of Abraham which had offered the sacrifices for their sins according to the law of God until they died to sleep; now they rose again with Jesus Christ. And they came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city (Jerusalem), and appeared unto many. Then, the centurion, and they that were with him , watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God; they testified of Jesus as God with their mouth. Not only Apostle Matthew but also the Romans testified what they saw with their eyes; then who else could deny the resurrection of Jesus as well as of the saints of the Old Testament?

       Then how could the many bodies of the saints of the Old Testament rise again from the dead from their graves? Apostle Matthew testifies of the things that are related to their resurrection. The Lord Jesus suffered and died on the cross shedding all his blood and waters. As soon as he yielded his breath to death, at the same time, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rock rent; and the graves were opened.  Because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ and his death and his resurrection. all these things happened. Apostle testified of the reason why sinners  are destined to death as well as the only way to live again:

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord….. 23For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;"(Rom. 6:23;3:23-25)

      Yea! No one could be justified until Jesus Christ shed his blood to take away the sin of the world. Therefore the saints in the days of Old testament could purify their flesh through the blood of

animals momentarily, and only the high priest could enter into the most high place inside of the veil of the temple once a year bringing the blood of goat for forgiveness of  sins of the people of Israel where the presence of God that was the only place of the kingdom of God in the earth. They could neither be able to resurrect nor to go to heaven until their Messiah shed his blood. Finally, the Messiah, Jesus Christ which they had been waiting for appeared, and died taking all the sins of the law of God in his flesh. And he took away the sin of the world. The sin of the world means the original sin that was sting by death; "the sin" that was inherited from Adam is different from "sins". When Jesus rose again from the dead the third day shedding his blood, the sin of the saints in the graves that were sleeping in the bosom of Abraham, the paradise  under the earth was taken away;  their sins had been covered by the blood of animal not to be judged by God. Apostle Paul testified of the power of the blood of Christ unto the saints of Hebrews:

"Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"(Heb. 9:12-14)

       Not only they, but all of them that believe the death of Jesus Christ for their sins and his resurrection could have been sanctified of the sin in their conscience, and enter into the most high place in the presence of God; and the spiritual kingdom of God comes in their spirit (Rom. 14:17); at the same time the resurrection of Jesus Christ is realized in their spirit. Therefore, the Christians whose spirit is revived through the Holy Ghost are able to live in the eternal life. Jesus Christ testified of this truth unto the sister of Lazarus saying,

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"(John 11:25,26)

       After the sin of the world was taken away through death and resurrection of Christ, Jesus stayed another forty days in the earth to preach the kingdom of God: "To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:"(Acts. 1:3)

        Yea! The death of Christ and his resurrection opened the gate of the kingdom of God widely; it was the real historical event. Preaching the gospel is the real blessed way to invite sinners to the kingdom of God freely. It could be compared to the invitation of family to America; but America cannot be compared to the kingdom of God at all as much as the difference between heaven and earth. Jesus Christ gave the first subject to pray unto his disciples to destroy the work of the Devil, the prince of the world  that is sin and death eternally through his death and resurrection when he appear again to the world:

"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven."(Matt. 6:10)
