금주의 묵상: 시편 99:1-9

본문: 창세기 22:1-19

제목: 하나님 자신이 죄인들을 위하여 번제에 쓸 어린 양이 되어 주신 은혜

     오늘 본문 말씀을 통하여 우리는 하나님께서  그의 독생자를 세상에 보내셔서 세상 죄를 제거하는 어린 양의 모습으로 죽임을 당하게 하실 일을 창세 전에 계획하시고 아브라함을 부르시는 장면을 본다. 다시 말해서 앞으로 이천 년이 지나서 나타나실 예수 그리스도와 그분을 보내실 하나님 아버지의 모습을 담은 장면에 대한 예고편을 보고 있는 것이다.

      하나님께서는 이 일을 위하여 아브라함을 택하시고 또한 동시에 이삭을 택하시어 아브라함은 하나님 아버지로, 또한 이삭은 그리스도로 각각 배역을 맡아 앞으로 이 세상을 구원하시기 위하여 독생자를 세상에 보내셔서 한 마리 어린 양처럼 도살당하게 하심으로써 모든 율법의 죄들을 구속하실 계획을 그림자처럼 보여주시는 것이다.

       아브라함은 번제에 쓸 나무를 들어서 그의 아들 이삭에게 지우고 산으로 올라간다. 이삭은 아버지의 말씀에 따라 나무를 지고 올라가고 있다. 마치 예수께서 나무 십자가를 등에 지고 골고다 언덕길을 오르신 것처럼 말이다. 그들이 하나님께서 아브라함에게 말씀하신 그곳에 와서 그는 제단을 쌓고 나무를 가지런히 놓고 그의 아들 이삭을 묶어서 제단 위에 올려 놓는다. 그러나 청년 이삭은 아무런 저항도 하지 않고 묶여서 제단 위에 눕는다. 마치 예수께서 아무 말도 없이 순순히 십자가에 묶이신 것 처럼 말이다..

       불과 나무가 있는데 정작 번제에 쓸 어란 양이 보이지 않아 묻는 이삭에게 아브라함은 이상한 대답을 한다. "내 아들아, 하나님께서 자신을 번제에 쓸 어린 양으로 마련하실 것이라."(창 22:8) 분명히 아브라함은 아들 이삭을 번제물로 하나님께 드리려고 산에 올라가고 있었다. 그런데 그가 하는 말은 전혀 앞뒤가 맞지 않는 말이다. 이 말이야말로 성령께서 친히 만드신 시나리오에 있는 대본(臺本)을 그대로 말한 것이다. 마치 선지자 이사야가 성령에 의하여 "보라, 한 처녀가 임신하여 아들을 낳으리니 그의 이름을 임마누엘이라 하리라."(사 7:14) 고 말하였을 때 하나님께서 친히 주신 예언의 말씀인 것을 알았겠는가? 그는 오늘날 신약시대에 구원받게 될 우리들을 위하여 예언한 것이다. 사도 베드로는 이 사실을 깨닫고 "너희 믿음의 결과, 곧 혼들의 구원을 받음이니라. 이 구원에 관해서는, 너희에게 임할 은혜에 관하여 예언한 선지자들이 열심히 조사하고 살펴보던 것이며 그들 안에 있었던 그리스도의 영이 그리스도의 고난과 다가올 영광을 미리 증거하실 때, 그 영이 무엇을, 또 어떤 시기를 지시하시는지 탐구하던 것이니라."(벧전 1:9-11)고 증거했다.

       그렇다! 본문에서 아브라함은 분명히 그의 아들 이삭을 번제물로 하나님께 드리려고 산에 올라가고 있는데, "하나님께서 친히 번제에 쓸 양을 준비하시리라."고 말하지 않고 "하나님 자신을 번제에 쓸 어린 양으로 준비하실 것이라."는 이상한 말을 하고 있으며 또한 이삭도 아버지의 말에 대하여 더 이상 의문을 제기하지 않고 있는 것이다. 그들은 성령을 통하여 앞으로 하나님의 독생자를 세상 죄를 제거하기 위한 어린 양(요 1:29)으로 이 세상에 보내실 아버지 하나님과 아들 예수 그리스도의 배역을 아주 잘 감당하고 있으며 이 구원의 계획이 담긴 시나리오 속에 있는 대본을 아무런 의심 없이 말하고 있는 것이다.

       하나님께서 아브라함에게 이삭을 번제로 드리라고 말씀하신 장소는 모리아에 있는 한 산이었다(창 22:2). 그후 오랜 시간이 지난 후 하나님께서 솔로몬 왕을 통하여 성전을 건축하게 하셨는데 그곳이 다름 아닌 모리아 산이었다.

"그후 솔로몬이 예루살렘 모리아 산에 주의 전을 건축하기 시작하였으미, 그곳은 주께서 전에 그의 아버지 다윗에게 나타나신 곳으로, 다윗이 전에 여부스인 오르난의 타작 마당에 예비하였던 것이더라."(대하 3:1)고 성경은 말씀하신다.

        솔로몬 왕이 모리아 산에 성전을 건축한 것이 우연인가? 하나님의 말씀에는 절대로 우연한 말씀이 없다. 그후 약 천년이 지난 후 하나님께서 독생자 예수 그리스도를 이 땅에 보내셔서 세상 죄를 제거하시기 위해 이삭처럼 그에게 나무 십자가를 등에 지우시고 골고다 언덕인 갈보리 산에 오르게 하셨으며 바로 그 산에서 십자가에 못박히게 하셨다. 또한 그로 하여금 물과 피를 다 쏟게 하시고 세상 죄를 제거하는 하나님의 어린 양으로 죽게 하신 것이다. 갈보리 산이 바로 아브라함이 이삭을 번제로 드리려고 올라갔던 모리아에 있는 산과 동일한 장소인 것이다. 그러므로 하나님께서는 아브라함의 입을 통하여 예언한 말씀, 즉 "하나님께서  자신을 번제에 쓸 어린 양으로 마련하실 것이라."는 말씀을 이루신 것이다.

      예수께서는 아버지를 보여달라는 빌립의 말에 어떻게 대답하였는가? "빌립아, 내가 너희와 그처럼 오랜 시간을 있었는데 네가 나를 모르겠느냐? 나를 본 자는 아버지를 보았느니라. 그런데 어찌하여 '아버지를 보여 주소서.'라고 말하느냐?" (요 14:9) 지금 이 순간에도 성령께서는 우리들을 향하여 동일한 질문을 하시고 계신 것이다. 주님께서는 자신을 믿지 않는 유대인들에게 "나와 내 아버지는 하나니라."(요 10:30)고 말씀하셨을 때 그들이 돌로 치려고 돌을 들었다. 그분이 바로 하나님 자신임을 말씀하신 것이다. 사도 요한은 이 진리를 깨닫고 "태초에 말씀이 계셨고, 그 말씀이 하나님과 함께 계셨으니, 그 말씀은 하나님이셨느니라. 그 말씀이 태초에 하나님과 함께 계셨느니라…그 말씀이 육신이 되어 우리 가운데 거하시므로, (우리가 그 영광을 보니, 아버지의 독생자의 영광으로) 은혜와 진리가 충만하더라."(요 1:1,2,14)고 증거했다.

      사도 바울도 성령 안에서 이 진리를 깨닫고, "그는 하나님의 형체로 계시므로 하나님과 동등하게 되는 것을 탈취라 생각지 아니하셨으나 오히려 자신의 영예를 버리고 종의 형체를 입으시어 사람의 모습을 취하셨느니라. 그리하여 사람과 같은 모양으로 나타나셔서 자신을 낮추시고 죽음에까지 순종하셨으니 십자가의 죽음에까지라….그는 하나님의 영광의 광채시며 그분의 인격의 정확한 형상이시고, 그의 능력의 말씀으로 만물을 붙들고 계시며, 친히 우리의 죄들을 정결케 하시고 높은 곳에 계신 위엄 있는 분의 오른편에 앉으셨으니…"(빌 2:6-8, 히 1:3) 라고 증거했다.

       하나님께서 처음 아브라함을 부르셨을 때에 "너를 축복하는 자들에게 내가 복을 주고 너를 저주하는 자를 저주하리라. 네 안에서 땅의 모든 족속들이 복을 받을 것이라."(창 12:3)는 약속을 주셨으며, 그 후에 나타나신 하나님께서 또 하나의 약속을 주시면서  "내가 이 땅을 이집트 강에서부터 큰 강 유프라데스까지 네 씨에게 주었으니."(창 15:18)라고 말씀하셨다. 사도 바울은 아브라함의 씨가 누구인가에 대하여,  "이제 그 약속들은 아브라함과 그의 씨에게 하신 것인데 많은 사람을 가리켜 씨들이라고 말씀하시지 아니하시고 한 사람을 가리켜 너의 씨라고 말씀하셨으니 그는 그리스도라."(갈 3:16)

고 증거했다. 그러므로 이삭은 앞으로 오실 그리스도의 그림자임을 성령께서 사도 바울은 통하여 증거하게 하신 것이다. 이 얼마나 놀라운 진리인가?

      그렇다! 하나님께서는 우리같은 죄인들을 구원하시기 위해 그 얼마나 오랫 동안 그의 사람들을 희생시켜가시면서 지금까지도 졸지도 아니하시고 주무시지도 않으시며(시 121:4) 성령님을 통하여 일하시고 계시는지…. 그 사랑과 은혜를 깨닫는 자가 복있는 자인 것이다. 하나님께서는 세상의 기초를 놓으시기 전부터 그분의 기쁘신 뜻에 따라 예수 그리스도를 통하여 우리를 그분의 자녀로 입양할 것을 예정하셨다 (엡 1:4,5). 그러므로 우리는 하나님의 거룩한 영이신 성령님을 슬프게  하지 말아야 하는 것이다. 이는 우리가 그로 인해 몸의 구속의 날, 즉 몸이 부활하는 휴거의 날까지 인치심(sealed)을 받았기 때문이라고 사도 바울은 에베소에 있는 성도들에게 당부한 것이다 (엡 4:30). 아멘! 할렐루야!

Meditation of the week: Psalms 99:1-9

Main scripture: Genesis 22:1-19

Subject: The grace of God that became a lamb as a burnt offering for sinners

       In the main passage, we see the scene in which God calls Abraham to show his Only One Begotten Son as God himself to be sent to the world before the foundation of the world so that he may take away the sin of the world. In other word, we see the preview that shall be the scene in which Jesus Christ shall appear in the world two thousands years later, and God the Father that will send him.

       For his plan, God had chosen Abraham as well as Isaac to be heroes in his play to make Abraham as God the Father, and Isaac as Christ; and God shows as a shadow of His Only Begotten Son that shall be sent as  a lamb to be killed so that he may redeem all the sins of the law.

       Abraham took the wood of burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son. Isaac was going up laying the wood upon him as Jesus was going up the hill of Golgotha laying the cross of wood. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. The young man, Isaac never resisted at all, but was bound to be laid on the altar, as Jesus was bound on the cross to be nailed.

       Abraham answered Isaac in strange way when Isaac asked him saying "Behold the fire and the wood; but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" Abraham answered him, "My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together."(Gen. 22:8)

Abraham was going up to the mountain to give Isaac as a burnt offering unto God; but now he was saying a weird word. He must have said to Isaac as the word in the scenario made by the Holy Ghost as prophet Isaiah said by the Holy Ghost, "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."(Isa. 14:7) How he could understand what he said as a prophesy from God? He actually prophesied for us that are to be saved  in the new testament days. Apostle Peter understood this, and testified: "Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow."(1Pet. 1:9-11)

       Yea! In the main passage, Abraham was going up to the mountain to make Isaac as a burnt offering for God;  he didn't say to Isaac, "God himself will provide a lamb for a burnt offering." ; but he rather said, "God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering" Even Isaac didn't question his father at all. They were acting as the Father God as well as the Only Begotten Son of God to be sent as the Lamb of God to take away the sin of the world; and they were saying the words in the scenario of the plan of God for salvation of the world without any doubt through the Holy Ghost.

         It was one of the mountains in the land of Moriah where  God asked Abraham to take his only son to be offered for a burnt offering (Gen. 22:2) When long time were passed by, God made Solomon build his temple on the exactly same place that was the mountain in Moriah as said by the scripture: "Then Solomon began to build the house of the Lord at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite."(2Chron. 3:1)

       Is it an accident that Solomon built the temple of God on the mountain in Moriah? Never an accident at all in the word of God. Afterwards, when a thousand years passed by, God sent his Only Begotten Son to the earth so that he might lay the cross of wood, and climb up the hill of Golgotha that is the hill of Calvary as Isaac to take away the sin of the world; and God made him crucified in the very mountain.  And God made him shed waters and blood to die as the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world. The hill of Calvary is the same place as the mountain in Moriah where Abraham Isaac to make him as a burnt offering. Finally, God achieved the prophesy that was spoken by Abraham as said, "God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering."

       How Jesus answered to Philip when he asked him to show the Father? "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"(John 14:9) Even in this moment, the Holy Ghost is saying the same word unto us. When Jesus said unto the Jew that not believed on him, "I and my Father are one."(John 10:30) Then they took up stones to stone him. Jesus testified of himself as God himself. Apostle John understood Jesus as God himself, and testified: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God…… And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."(John 1:1,2,14)

       When God called Abraham for the first time, he gave a promise saying, "And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."(Gen. 12:3)    Afterwards, God gave another covenant saying, "Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates."(Gen. 15:18)

Apostle Paul testified who is the seed of Abraham saying,

"Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ."(Gal. 3:16)

Therefore, Isaac is the shadow of Christ to come as testified by Apostle Paul. What a amazing truth it is!

         Apostle Paul also understood this truth in the Holy Ghost, and testified: "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

….. Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"(Phil. 2:6-8, Heb. 1:3)

       Yea! How long time has God working through the Holy Ghsot neither slumbering  nor sleeping (Ps 121:4)to save the sinners as us even to sacrifice his people? Blessed is the one  that understands the love and grace of God. Before the foundation of the world, God had predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ  to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will (Eph. 1:4,5). Therefore, we should not grieve the holy Spirit of God, whereby we are sealed unto the day of redemption that is the day of resurrection of our body that is called the day of Rapture as encouraged by Apostle Paul unto the saints of Ephesians church (Eph. 4:30) Amen! Hallelujah!
